Sardinia Yacht Charter
Sardinia yacht charters round out one of the most important yacht charter locations in the ever popular Western Mediterranean and this beautiful island sees some of the best and newest private luxury yachts in the world during summer time. Some of the most attractive beaches and harbours in the Mediterranean bring the motor yachts to these emerald shores, whilst the island’s fair summer breeze and notable yachting regattas draw in the luxury sailing yachts to visit. Sardinia yacht charter offers an exciting mix of natural rugged beauty culture and history with chic ports, restaurants, designer shops and beach clubs.
Culture lovers, food connoisseurs and naturists delight in their discoveries on Sardinia, where high-walled fortresses perch above sparkling blue waters and centuries-old cathedrals form cool and calm sanctuaries in the hot and lively coastal towns.
The famous Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo holds several regattas throughout the year and with plenty of berths for superyachts, the town is ideally situated for exploring the island or simply staying put and enjoying the spas, boutiques and night clubs to be found within the town.
Whether guests are looking for adrenaline-fuelled water sports or to cruise along to the best fishing spots in the area, visitors return to the region again and again for the idyllic beauty and secluded beaches that set the scene for a candlelit meal under the stars.
Sardinia is the perfect luxury yacht charter destination. As the second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is a wonderful location to explore on a superyacht. Sitting just off the coast of Italy, this chic Mediterranean Island offers picturesque shores lapped by azure waters. Enjoy discovering romantic beaches, secluded caves and anchorages, including some of the best restaurants in the Med.
Sardinia is famous for its designer boutiques, exclusive bars, quaint cafes and laid-back lifestyle. It’s an island rich in culture, history and natural beauty. One of the best yachting destinations in the world is Sardinia’s coastline which is known for its spectacular beaches. Liscia Ruja has an arc of powdery pink sands, ideal for a day of relaxation. The uninhabited island of Mortorio makes for an idyllic location for an overnight anchorage.
On a Sardinia yacht vacation, you will also discover ancient towns and hilltop villages. From the city of Cagliari in the south to charming coastal towns in the north such as Alghero, this beautiful island offers a unique mixture of architecture and culture. Visit the island’s stone tepee-like structures, the Nuraghe, which are among the oldest constructions known to man. The Sardinian language, Sardo, is still spoken on the island along with Italian as well as several other local dialects.
A firm favourite with owners and superyacht enthusiasts in the north east of the island lies the famous Costa Smeralda. Originally bought by the Aga Khan 50 years ago, this area is a fantastic mix of colours, fishing villages, spectacular villas and high-end boutiques. One of the most exciting party destinations in the Med can also be found here, Porto Cervo. Located in the heart of Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo boasts a stunning marina nestled in the sheltered harbour. Did you know that the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta is held here every June? Porto Cervo is a must-visit for any luxury yacht charter in Sardinia.
Sardinia is the ideal stop-off and destination point for both Western and Eastern Mediterranean yacht charter itineraries. Along with the popular cruising grounds of Costa Smeralda, there are also more than 60 islands which make up the Maddalena Archipelago, the first National Park in Sardinia. Some of the best diving, snorkelling and watersport opportunities can be found in this part of the Med.
There’s no shortage of activities to be enjoyed when choosing to charter a superyacht in Sardinia. For lovers of golf, spend a day at Il Pevero, one of Europe’s most spectacular courses. With such fabulous weather, Sardinia has the perfect climate for a superyacht vacation. Expect dry and hot days during June to August while the rainfall from October to February creates a lush green landscape.
With such a glorious coastline, great weather, lots of exciting things to do and see, the only factor you’ll need for a memorable luxury yacht charter, is the right superyacht. Looking to fit in and enjoy the glamour of Porto Cervo? Then select a prestigious, luxury yacht to charter in the West Mediterranean. Why not choose a yacht that celebs love to charter? Alternatively, if you’re after a more low-key charter experience, then how about a family-friendly yacht? Combine your party’s needs, the best time to visit and an action-packed itinerary for an unforgettable yacht charter vacation to Sardinia.
When you enjoy your Sardinia vacation onboard a head turning crewed private luxury yacht you have the freedom to see your selection of hand picked beaches, bays, harbours and towns on this beautiful jewel of the Western Mediterranean. There is a wide range of luxury superyacht charters available to suit your particular needs.

More about a Sardinia Charter
A charter in Sardinia, Italy is quite an experience. Sardinia is a universe unto itself. It's an island of Italy, where the local language is incomprehensible to all other Italians. An island with one of Europe 's most stunning coastlines; it's waters teem with fish; it's golden sands disappear into oceans of blue; it's rugged mountains are covered with flocks of sheep producing cheese so pungent, your palate will never forget.
Sardinia is completely unique and the perfect place for a yacht charter holiday that mixes excitement with the exotic. During the summer private boats flock to Sardinia. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, concentrated from April to September and warm winds off the African continent, the Sardinian climate, can be quite delightful and not quite as hot as other yacht charter areas in the Mediterranean.
You'll find that the Sardinian ports and harbours compare very well with the Mediterranean’s other chic hot spots on the French Riviera or Italian Riviera . Summers tend to attract lovely warm days and crowds of millionaires, supermodels and luxury yachts, especially to the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda at Porto Cervo , near Olbia .
For those whose interests are a little more adventurous, Sardinia's humble bays and ports will allow you to explore some sheer and stunning terrain. A good start is the Grotte di Nettuno (Neptunes Caves) on the beautiful Capo Caccia to the north.
The Sardinian yachting scene has increased in popularity and gone from strength to strength of late, and the types of luxury charter yachts available are all the main types, including motor, sailing, skippered, crewed yachts, catamaran, power boat, sailboat, luxury yachts and the ever more frequent superyacht charter.
As with other parts of the Mediterranean and Italy, the Sardinian yacht chartering season generally runs from April to the end of October. The summer season in July and August is the hottest and tends to have lighter winds. This is also the high season as far as yacht charter goes.
Plain sailing with all the wind you need
Sardinia has a typical Mediterranean climate with three main winds to ensure great conditions for sailing: The powerful Maestrale - from the north down along the west coast, the strong Ponente - offshore west wind breezes through each season, and the warm Scirocco prevailing on the east coast.
Diverse landscape and geography
Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean. The island is 270 km from north to south and 145 km from east to west. It’s 190 km away from the Italian mainland and 12 km from Corsica . It has an interesting geography with mountains over 1,800 m. The rarely seen rain comes mainly in the winter and autumn.
The gorgeous Sardinia marine coastline
There are hundreds of private coves and stunning beaches along the coastline that beckon you to explore and plunge into. Find mysterious solitude in the myriad of hidden bays and large salt-water lagoons and pools.
With a Sardinia yacht charter, you’ll enjoy gorgeous crystal clear turquoise waters varying in all shades from green to blue.See the dramatic rock formations in the north and mesmerizing dunes on the west. Check out the relaxed sophisticated ambiance of the famous Emerald Coast . There are endless opportunities for exploration, relaxation, and pleasure on a Sardinian yacht charter.
Sardinia has a strong environmental ethos
Over 25% of the island's territory is protected - with three national parks – Asinara, Arcipelago di La Maddalena , and Gennargentu . There are also 60 wildlife reserves, 5 W.W.F oases, 25 natural monuments, and a Geomineral Park, preserved by UNESCO. There are many marine reserves and the best way to experience this natural bounty is by boat.
The island has laws prohibiting new building activities near natural and cultural sites. Wind and solar power have increased noticeably in recent years. Carlo Rubbia, Nobelist in physics, is creating an experimental solar/ thermal energy using Jatropha and Colza oils.
Rare native animals and plants
Sardinia is home to the Mediterranean Monk Seal, the Giara horse, the Albino Donkey, the Mouflon, the Sardinian Long-eared Bat, the Sardinian Deer, the Sardinian Fox, the wild boar, and the Maghreb, a skink that can reach 30 cm in length, and the Great Spotted Woodpecker.
The Famous Mediterranean Sardinian Cuisine
Sardines, rock lobster, squid, tuna, scampi, bottarga, and other seafood are predominant in Sardinian cuisine. This is fresh and simple Mediterranean seafood at its best. Also, wild boar and suckling pig are spit-roasted or boiled in bean and vegetable stews, thickened with bread. Your personal chef on your yacht will be able to gather fresh local Sardinia ingredients and create Sardinia inspired cuisine to your taste, as well as any other cooking styles your request.
Rich cultural customs still alive
Sardinians remain enthusiastic warm-hearted hosts. The native language is widely spoken on the island, as well as Italian. Sardinia is home to one of the oldest forms of vocal polyphony, known as Cantu A Tenore, which Frank Zappa and Peter Gabriel have found irresistible.
Sardinian culture is alive and well, and young people are actively involved - with carnival costumes and a unique three reed-cane instrument. Sardinia has produced notable jazz musicians such as Antonello Salis, Marcello Melis, and Paolo Fresu. Goat and sheep rearing are still important for cheese making. Crafts include rugs, jewellery, textile, lacework, basket making, and coral.
Intriguing ancient history with fascinating remnants
Sardinia has a unique heritage dating from 4000 BC - including the Phoenician sailors, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Saracen raiders, Spaniards, and African Berber pirates, famines survived on wild ferns and weeds, kidnappings, and political subversion. Much of this history is apparent from remnants and influences on the coastline and can be seen from your boat. Some of the best sites, however, require a shore trip and you can ask your captain or charter broker to organise this for you. Here are a few fascinating remnants: • Giants' Tombs – at Aiodda near Nurallao-Nuragus and Coddu Vecchiu • Nuraghe – megalithic round tower-fortresses such as at Su Nuraxi di Barumini - a UNESCO World Heritage Site • Castle - 13th century, at Acquafredda near Siliqua • Necropolis - Anghelu Ruju • Temple - Antas • Romanesque church - of Santa Maria del Regno • Catalan Gothic church - 16th century, at Assemini • Ghost villages and industrial architecture – at Argentiera • Paintings from the 15th century – at Benetutti church • Fascinating cave – at Bonu Ighinu
Sardinia has strong traditions in darts, football, and car racing. Sassari has the Mores Raceway and Cagliari has hosted Formula 3000 racing. Olbia has hosted the Rally d'Italia Sardegna in the FIA World Championship - held on narrow, twisty mountainous roads around the glamorous town of Porto Cervo.
Of course sailing is big here! Cagliari hosts regular international regattas, such the RC44 championship, the Farr 40 World championship, and the Audi MedCup. Several America's Cup contenders have been attracted here, and part of the Louis Vuitton Trophy was held in the Maddalena archipelago in 2010. Porto Pollo is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers by virtue of a western wind that accelerates between Sardinia and Corsica. In 2005, Aglientu, hosted the Kitesurf World Cup. Sa Istrumpa, also known as Sardinian Wrestling, is a traditional Sardinian sport, officially recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee.
Sardinia is perhaps one of the most well-known places for yacht racing and superyacht regattas and the annual sailing events include the Sardinia Cup , The Pendennis Cup , the Dubois Cup , the Superyacht Regatta and more.
Inland transport
The best way to get around on a Sardinia holiday is by sea, on your own bespoke luxury private crewed charter yacht. For those who do venture inland a driver and car can be organised to pick you up from your yacht. Sardinia has a system of dual carriage freeways that connect the main towns and transport infrastructures with a relaxed speed limit of 90 km/h. The secondary inland and mountain roads get narrow with many hairpin turns. With a low population density, the smallest territories are reachable only by car. Trains also connect the whole island.
Your Sardinia yacht charter vacation – with yacht rental or crewed yacht – can take you anywhere around this jewel of the Mediterranean. A wide range of superyachts, luxury yachts, and charter yachts is available to suit your needs.

Motor yacht charter vs sailing yacht charters in Sardinia
Choosing between a crewed motor yacht and a sailing yacht for your Sardinia adventure depends on your preferences, budget, and the experience you’re seeking.
Motor yachts offer several advantages that appeal to many travellers. They provide greater speed and agility, allowing you to cover more distance along Sardinia’s coastline in less time. With their luxurious amenities, spacious interiors, and onboard chefs, motor yachts offer unparalleled comfort and indulgence. Their stability in choppy waters and ease of handling make them suitable for guests who prioritize a smooth sailing experience or have limited sailing experience.
On the other hand, sailing yachts offer a more authentic and serene sailing experience. With their reliance on wind power rather than engines, sailing yachts provide a quieter and more intimate atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of Sardinia’s coastline. They evoke a sense of nostalgia and romance with their classic designs and billowing sails, appealing to travelers seeking an authentic maritime adventure. Additionally, eco-conscious travellers often prefer sailing vessels due to their lower environmental impact and reliance on renewable energy.
Ultimately, choosing a motor yacht or a sailing yacht for your Sardinia adventure depends on your preferences and desired level of comfort. Both options offer their own unique advantages and can provide an unforgettable journey along the breathtaking coastline of Sardinia.

Sardinia is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, a part of the Mediterranean Sea, southwest of the Italian Peninsula and just south of the French island of Corsica. It is an autonomous region of Italy and boasts over 1,850 kilometers (1,150 miles) of coastline, featuring stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic cliffs. Sardinia is surrounded by smaller islands and archipelagos, such as the Maddalena Archipelago to the northeast, offering additional exploration and discovery opportunities on your own private yacht charter. These islands often have secluded beaches, hidden caves, and charming villages to explore.
Sardinia’s coastline boasts miles of superlative beaches and secret grottos only accessible by boat. Porto Cervo is at the region’s main center, home to Costa Smeralda. This area has become increasingly desirable for luxury yacht charters because of its remote location and exclusive atmosphere. South of Porto Cervo, you will find forested mountains, medieval villages, and stunning seas. Another recommended site is La Maddalena National Park, a marine reserve that offers opportunities for secluded anchorages and overnight stays. Spotted with seven main islands and many islets, La Maddalena offers crystal-clear waters for an afternoon snorkel and access to the beautiful pink sand beach named Pink of Budelli. Sardinia’s coastal cuisine differs from inland; the seafood base and pasta dishes pay homage to the sea and further contribute to the laidback yet luxurious atmosphere of the island.
When is the best time to go on a Sardinia yacht charter?
The best time to hop on a yacht and explore Sardinia is usually in the summer, from June to September. During this time, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for soaking up the sun and diving into the crystal-clear waters. Remember that summer is popular with yacht charter guests and tourists, so planning ahead and booking early is advisable. Spring (April to May) and autumn (October to November) are great options for Charter guests who prefer fewer crowds. You’ll still get lovely weather and plenty of chances to enjoy the island’s beauty without the hustle and bustle of peak season. So, whether you’re aiming for exciting summer adventures or a more relaxed experience, there’s a perfect time for a Sardinia yacht adventure to fit your preferences.

Dolce Farniente: a three-day itinerary for yachting along the Costa Smeralda, Sardinia
We set sail on a luxurious vessel, immersing ourselves in sweet relaxation and savouring delicious Italian adventures.
From the best things to do in Hong Kong to discovering where the local’s eat in Delhi , our team of writers are constantly sharing delightful ways to discover more about this enchanting world of ours. And for a slice of complete indulgence, Aude Camus recently escaped to Sardinia. Here, she shares her top tips for an unforgettable experience yachting along Italy’s captivating Costa Smeralda.
A guide to yachting along the Costa Smeralda
Day 1: unveiling costa smeralda’s enchanting charms.
Conveniently located a six-minute drive from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, MOYS (Marina di Olbia Yachting Services) is the spot of choice to embark on your Sardinian adventures. Though small in size, Olbia’s exquisite historic centre beckons for a leisurely stroll. Alternatively, embark on your seafaring journey from Marina di Cannigione, an idyllic escape nestled within the picturesque village of Cannigione, renowned for its pristine coves and crystalline waters.
Our next destination promises an immersive experience in captivating charm. Relaxation is our programme for the next few hours, as we glide along the sun-kissed coastline, dotted with picturesque coves, en route to Yacht Club Punta Sardegna also known as the Marina Di Porto Rafael.
It’s only a short scenic walk to the charming village where azure waters glisten against villas embraced by verdant foliage and weathered cliffs, perfumed with the scent of bright lilac flowers.
Founded in the 1960s by Spanish aristocrat, and socialite, Count Rafael Neville de Berlanga y del Duero, Porto Rafael was built to host the rich and celebs of the time. The village’s seaside Piazzetta witnessed epic summer parties, including Count Rafael’s annual white birthday celebration on August 21st. Photos of these are on display alongside the ‘Discesa del Conte’, the granite pathway heading from Santa Rita – the miniature 4-seat church honouring the patron saint of artists, down to the sea.
Near Santa Rita, a revered local institution, Harry’s Bar , awaits us for breakfast, In the meantime, we enjoy handmade fregula – Sardinian pasta, local olive oil, and other gourmet delights from the local alimentary (supermarket).
Down on the Piazzeta, a few boutiques await where you can shop jewels, resort wear, and small decoration items. The golden hour light is our call for apperitivo, best enjoyed in the form of a Bellini at the terrace of wine and cocktail bar Solaz .
But the evening holds more enchantment as we embark on a short drive to Tenuta Petra Bianca , an ‘agriturismo’ cradled amid Gallura’s lush vineyards and nature’s bounty. Here, a toast to the sunset unfurls with a glass of Vermentino di Gallura, Sardinia’s prestigious DOCG (denominazione di origine controllata e garantita) wine produced on the estate. Prepare to indulge in a lavish dinner showcasing Sardinia’s culinary treasures, thoughtfully presented in a tantalising tasting menu.
Day 2: Embracing glitz and glamour in Porto Cervo
Awaken to the gentle rhythm of lapping water. Refresh your senses with a morning swim in the crystal-clear waters of Yacht Club Punta Sardegna.
It’s now time for a quintessential ‘cornetto e cappucino’ breakfast at Harry’s Bar, accompanied by the delightful art of people-watching. There’s a newspaper vending machine on the small square, if you want to blend in with the locals or practise your Italian reading the Corriere della Serra or L’Unione Sarda. Embrace the unhurried pace of life, where moments are cherished piano piano .
After a long leisurely morning, embark on your yacht towards Porto Cervo, where marine parks and tranquil coves offer idyllic stops along the way. Bask in the sun’s warmth and plunge into the azure waters, experiencing true relaxation amidst nature’s beauty.
As the afternoon mellows into early evening, the glitz and glamour of Porto Cervo unfold before you. This picturesque village, masterfully created by Prince Karim Aga Khan in the 1960s, boasts a superyacht-filled marina, Moorish architectural gems, and an array of luxury boutiques. Despite the summer buzz, Porto Cervo retains an undeniable charm.
Get lost in the enchanting alleyways, indulging in window shopping before reaching La Piazza, where alfresco drinks at Nuna Al Sole offer sweeping views of Marina Di Porto Cervo and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Alternatively, head down to the waterfront’s Nikki Beach pop-up bar and lounge for creatively crafted cocktails.
Having opened its doors in July 2022, Zuma is one of the city’s most sought-after dining destinations. Here you can enjoy spending dinner with unrivalled sea views. Savour their signature Japanese-infused dishes, such as marinated black cod and roasted lobster with green chilli and garlic shiso butter, as you bask in the golden hour light.
Should you wish to explore local flavours, Frades-La Terrazza beckons with jaw-dropping vistas and a refined menu of Sardinian specialties. Opt for a tasting menu, focusing on the bounties of the sea or the land, each tantalising in its own.
If the night calls for celebration, revel in Porto Cervo’s vibrant nightlife at Toy Room , where an exclusive ambiance, captivating atmosphere, and impeccable music promise an unforgettable evening.
Day 3: Serenity on the shore and a seafood feast
After a night of revelry, a leisurely morning aboard the yacht is just the remedy we seek. If you’re not up for a stroll to Harry’s Bar, fear not, as the marina’s quaint bar offers breakfast as well. This unassuming dining spot, without a trace on the web or social media, unveils its charm at night through fresh local seafood. As you savour your espresso, remember to secure a table for tonight. You’re going to love it.
As the sun climbs high, our sails set towards today’s destination: Phi Beach . By day, a captivating beach club, and as night descends, it transforms into an open-air nightclub. Accessible by land or sea, Phi Beach lies at the base of the Napoleonic fortress of Forte Cappellini, inviting us to unwind amidst turquoise waters and weathered rocks. The idyllic setting creates a picturesque backdrop for unforgettable sunsets, making Phi Beach an ideal choice for aperitivo.
Yet, let us not forget our dinner reservation at Yacht Club Punta Sardegna, drawing us back to Porto Rafael and our waterfront. At this hidden culinary haven, menus remain unheard of, as sharing-style dining steals the spotlight. A five-course seafood feast, fresh from the day’s catch, awaits you. Revel in delicacies like Sardinian tuna carpaccio, scampi crudi, and pasta alla granceola, also known as spider crab linguine.
For libations, simplicity reigns with a choice of only one red and one white wine—both hailing from the local vineyards. As twilight deepens into night, you may opt for a nightcap—a chance to savour the locals’ favourite liqueur, Mirto, crafted from myrtle.
In the embrace of Sardinia’s coastal wonders, a yachting escapade becomes a symphony of charm and indulgence, leaving unforgettable imprints on our souls.

- Marina di Porto Rotondo - Also located in Olbia, this round-shaped marina enjoys an impeccable reputation amongst its international Jet Set clientele, with bespoke VIP services and luxury hotels adding to the allure. Porto Rotondo can host yachts up to 80 meters in length and has 652 yacht slips available.
- Portus Karalis Cagliari - Only a champagne cork’s pop away from the Sardinian capital’s town center, this marina is ideal for those looking to explore the region’s historic treasures, glorious beaches and hidden gems. Close to all major transport links, it offers 140 slips for yachts up to 100 meters in length.
- Porto di Alghero - located in the beautiful province of Sassari, this destination is renowned for its beautiful emerald waters and secluded beaches making it a prime stop-off for those looking for an idyllic retreat away from the main hubs. This marina can accommodate 380 yachts with slips available for vessels up to 50 meters LOA.
- Cala Luna - A beautiful curve of sand with magical caves and astonishing clear blue waters abound in this paradisiacal setting. It does get busy in the peak summer months, but after 7pm all the crowds depart, leaving a stunning anchorage to park the yacht and watch the setting sun, cocktail in hand.
- Passagio della Pelosa - Often likened to a lagoon, this beautiful sheltered cove is considered by some as one of the best anchorages in the Mediterranean, where charterers will be dazzled by the Caribbean-blue waters reflecting the sandy seabed below. This anchorage is an ideal jumping off point to the protected marine reserve of Stintino, with convenient restaurants and shops located nearby in the village and marina.
- Porto Liscia - A pretty peninsula of golden sand beach with cobalt-blue waters and scenic views. The anchorage is well protected and is a popular hangout for superyachts, which means it can get busy.
- Spiaggia di Campulongu - Situated on Sardinia’s south coast, a short hop from Cagliari, this anchorage offers a beautiful calm bay with lots of space and clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling from the back of the yacht. There is a convenient marina close by with all the usual amenities, as well as a short walk into town.
With its A-lister appeal, rich cultural history and bevy of world-class beaches, Sardinia is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean. Therefore, we advise you to book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht on your preferred dates. If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available can be tricky; the longer you leave it, the more challenging it will be.
Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, and enough time to book ahead for the nights you wish to spend in marinas. We recommend booking up to 3 months in advance to give your broker the optimum time to organize everything down to the last detail.

Sardinia Yacht Charter Q&A
Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;
- Marinas tend to get quite busy during peak summer months, so you need to consider that when deciding on what night's you wish to spend in a slip. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard.
- Mistrals are quite common during the shoulder months of May and October, so check with your charter broker about the best anchorages and itineraries if you intend on traveling during these months.
- You should also be aware that certain zones in Sardinia's waters are restricted to protect the sea grass, which may impact on where you anchor the yacht. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.
Due to its popularity during the Mediterranean Season, there should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.
Why not visit our yacht charter fleet page for a comprehensive look at all yachts available for charter around Sardinia .
Alternatively, you can reach out to your preferred yacht broker , who will be sure to help you find your perfect yacht and itinerary around the dates that suit both you and your guests.
The optimum time for yacht charters in Sardinia is between June and September, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, clear blue seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.
You should note that Sardinia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.
Most Sardinia yacht charters begin in the glamorous superyacht marina of Porto Cervo in the north west of the island, with popular charter itineraries including the breathtaking Maddalena archipelago, the pretty sheltered anchorages and charming villages found along Sardinia's east coast and the island's capital Cagliari, awash with historical treasures and rich cultural heritage.
The island is also renowned for its protected marine reserves and beautiful clear waters where snorkeling and diving are the favorite activities for yacht charters. where the yacht can spend a day or two in a pretty sheltered anchorage while you and your guests take to the Carribean-blue waters for a spot of diving and snorkeling.
Another option is to begin your yacht charter on Italy's west coast only a short hop across the Tyrrhenian Sea. Alternatively, charters can begin on the spellbindingly rugged island of Croatia in the north, separated only by a narrow strait famed for its sailing.
Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.
For more information about the costs of chartering a yacht, please read our helpful guide: Yacht Charter Costs Explained , which describes the fee structure in more detail.
