Benetti Class 44M is the new flagship of the historic Italian yacht builder, with interior and exterior design by Giorgio Maria Cassetta, capable of being somewhere to live in rather than a simple object to show off.

The new 44-meter motor yacht impresses with its clean and essential lines, establishing itself as an immediate object of desire for owners looking for unique boats to enjoy their leisure time aboard. After all, the Italian shipyard, founded back in 1873, has by now accustomed us to excellence in the construction of iconic and luxurious yachts, with a skilful use of raw materials and a sartorial design of finishes, which in the case of the Benetti Class 44M convey a feeling of informality and naturalness that can change the perception of space. The shipyard has achieved this result through the extensive use of sustainable materials such as FSC-certified wood – sourced from forests managed according to the strictest environmental standards – and also thanks to the endless transparent surfaces that let light flood into all the four decks on the yacht.

The Benetti Class 44M in detail

Benetti Class 44M is designed for long, safe cruises around the world thanks to the perfection of the layouts as well as to generous stowage capacity and meticulous functional research into every detail. In other words, an absolutely unique and timeless yacht.

As mentioned above, Benetti Class 44M has four decks that can be customised to match owners’ tastes, and the star of the show, as always, is natural light. The forward section of the Main Deck is home to the full-beam master cabin, which includes an office space, a generous wardrobe and a bathroom (also full-beam). Still on the main deck, the galley area and head are amidships, while the spectacular, spacious lounge offers direct views of the water thanks to the low-profile bulwarks.

In addition to the helm station and captain’s cabin, the Upper Deck offers the owner and guests a large interior living space that extends outdoors towards the stern and can accommodate a dining table for ten. The marvels of the Benetti Class 44M continue on the Sun Deck which provides over 102 square metres of space for dining, sunbathing or simply sipping a drink at the bar. The Lower Deck also contains four double guest cabins and, separated from them, the crew quarters. Specially studied crew flow paths run the entire length of all four decks.

The water’s edge beach club is an independent and versatile space with a striking design, while the generously sized garage on the port side ensures problem-free launch and recovery of the tender and water toys. Special focus during the design process was on the highest standards of soundproofing and in this respect Class 44M ranks at the top of the category. In order to minimise vibrations and maximise soundproofing, floating floors and bulkheads are used throughout, along with flexible transmission couplings based on state-of-the-art superyacht technology. The air-conditioning and purification system ensures high-efficiency air circulation with six changes per hour.

In the engine room, the Benetti Class 44M is equipped with two MAN units rated 1,400 HP at 2,300 rpm , delivering a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 4,100 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots.

BENETTI DIAMOND 145 – 44 METER FIBERGLASS YACHT

First Diamond 145 unit was launched by the Viareggio’s Benetti slipway. The 44-meter-long Class category flagship was given its baptism in the sea at an impressive ceremony in front of hundreds of spectators

There was an emotional atmosphere for the slipway launch of the first Diamond 145 unit, the 44-meter fiberglass flagship in the Class category, which touched the water for the first time with the entire city looking on.

Welcoming the Authorities, the public, suppliers, and all the company’s workers and office staff, Azimut|Benetti Group President Paolo Vitelli spoke of a spectacular launch.

“Slipway launches are part of the history of Benetti shipyards. We have a great tradition and hundreds of yacht launches to our name, but the revolutionary features of the Class category today promise to bring Benetti’s new success. This slipway is, in fact, a launchpad for our technical expertise and desire to push ahead, in a technological challenge focused on the goal of continuity”. When paying his compliments to all the designers, the President made a point of thanking Giorgio M. Cassetta, who worked on the yacht’s exteriors:

Giorgio M. Cassetta commented on his work by saying:

“Diamond 145 springs from a project with a mission to improve life on board not only for owners and guests but for all the crew too. Diamond 145, sold thanks to the brokers Domeyachts and The Doc Yacht Services, is a powerful yet elegant yacht with a fiberglass hull, a gross tonnage of 456 tonnes, and a range of 3,600 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. The design of the exteriors, taken together with the contribution from Benetti’s Interior Style Department, underscores the details and celebrates harmonious, balanced proportions. The yacht, of which two units have already been sold, is the only fiberglass yacht of this size available today on the market. The design of the big seamless glazed surfaces on the main decks flows along the entire length of the yacht, allowing natural light to flood into interiors accommodating 10 guests in four cabins on the Lower Deck, while the captain has a private cabin on the Upper Deck, near the helm station. In the stern, sliding glass doors open out onto a spacious beach area.

Superyacht H2OME is an extraordinary superyacht of 44 metres in length over all, constructed at Cantiere MMGI in Monfalcone, Italy in 2009. The slender and stylish motor yacht H2OME can accommodate up to ten guests in 5 luxurious contemporary suites. She is able to reach a maximum speed of 36 knots and cruise at the comfortable speed of 18 knots.

H2ome Motor Yachts Luxurious yet simple Interior

The H2OME yacht is a result of joint collaboration between the proud Owner, the HDUEO Design of Raffaella Bergé, the architects Frederica Giovannone and Marina Grasso of the A-Lab studio, and last but not least the Studio Navirex of Mario Grasso.

The idea behind the SuperYacht H2OME was to design a motor yacht with a hull similar to that of a sailing yacht, with reduced superstructure, which would give her the possibility to navigate at two different speeds.  Luxury Motor yacht H2OME is constructed from a light Alloy designed to reduce weight and increase speed. Her propulsion is provided by double water jet linked to twin CAT engines with 1.925hp each, allowing an average cruising speed of approximately 18 knots. The superyacht H2OME also has a 4.400hp Vericor gas turbine to feed a third waterjet that increases the total installed power to 8.250hp enabling a maximum speed of up to 36 knots. Because a ‘zero speed’ stabilization system would limit the high speed performances of M/Y H2OME one was not fitted however the yacht already features high stability thanks to an extremely low barycentre and reduced height of the superstructure. These results were obtained thanks to an optimal weight control, which maintains a displacement of about 170 tonnes, which is quite reduced for a yacht of 44 metres.

The stability of the M/Y H2OME  is excellent, thanks to the optimal design of the hull. The motor yacht cuts the waves almost better than recent military vessels.

The idea behind the design of the yacht was to create a vessel, with the exterior and the interior as simple and essential as possible, but at the same time transmitting strong emotions.

The simplicity of the interior magnificently reflects the richness of the materials used, such as the Mother of Pearl used throughout the interior, from the lower deck, to the cabins, right through to the bathrooms and corridors.

The use of Mother of Pearl and hand-crafted objects, like the lighting in the bathrooms, made of Nautilus, the luxurious bed covers, the bed site cabinets in embossed leather remind of the fish in the sea, was designed to resemble the environment and shapes of the deep sea creatures.

H2ome Motor Yacht - Stairwell

If the lower deck of the Luxury Super Yacht H2OME reflects the deep sea, than the main deck represent an island. Here one can find shellfish and two walls of flora that oxygenate and perfume all through the saloon area and its surroundings.

Amongst the few typical elements of the H2OME motoryacht, that introduce the concept of a ‘yachting villa’ on board are the floor to ceiling glass windows in the saloon and the blades of light that replace the spotlights.

The interior of the S/Y H2OME boasts wonderful light and airy living spaces: The spacious full beam Owners cabin is located at stern with an en-suite and walk in wardrobe. The other four cabins, three guests and one twin cabin are situated on the lower deck just before the crew area, which offers three double cabins and one single. All of them with their own en-suite bathroom and one big galley with a dinette.

BENETTI DELIVERS THE FIRST DIAMOND 145: 44 METERS OF MAJESTY

Benetti is proud to announce the delivery of the first Diamond 145 unit, the new Class category flagship that at 44 meters in length represents the perfect marriage of tradition and innovation. The impressive and imposing exterior lines penned by Giorgio M. Cassetta are matched by spacious interiors bathed in a contemporary, welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere and designed by Benetti’s Interior Style Department. 

With a fiberglass hull and gross tonnage of 469 tonnes, Diamond 145 has five cabins sleeping 10 guests and five cabins for a crew of eight plus the captain. At a speed of 11 knots, the yacht has a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

With this project the shipyard speaks directly to owners who already have plenty of experience and awareness about onboard necessities: generously-sized spaces not only for the owner and guests but also for the crew, maximum silence, and build standards aligned with the yard’s traditional design culture.

Diamond 145’s superstructural masses are refined and dynamic , the hull sides are high and the reverse sheer line is extremely long. The huge glazed surfaces created by the yacht’s exterior designer Giorgio M. Cassetta accentuate the yacht’s length and flood the interiors with natural light.

Cassetta, who is one of the youngest and best-known designers on the international yachting scene and has collaborated with the yard since 2013, commented on the results of his work by saying: “Diamond 145’s size offered the opportunity to develop an imposing vessel with a majestic bearing and highly contemporary detailing, combined with an approach to style that reflects the idea of a timeless yacht ”. His work is driven by the desire to offer a contemporary take on the classic style that has made Benetti yachts famous all over the world.

Created for an expert and demanding owner, Diamond 145 has a profile that exemplifies the revisitation of neoclassical style. The relationship between light and dark-coloured volumes encourages the notion of powerful, extended shapes, giving the yacht a look that is both majestic and consistent with the Benetti’s heritage. Teak, steel and glass bestow unprecedented sophistication on spaces reminiscent of an even bigger yacht, not least the outdoor stairway on the left side, which climbs seamlessly from the yacht’s point of entry to the top of the Sun Deck.

Layout: boundless spaces for megayacht-style comfort

The layout has been carefully studied to emphasise and take full advantage of both exterior and interior spaces, ensuring the maximum convenience and an unprecedented sense of welcome. Crew and guest flows are devised to ensure maximum privacy, not least on the Sun Deck , which at 102 square meters is the most spacious in the category . On this deck, the space in the fore contains a comfortable sofa and a dining area with a table, plus a big relaxation and sunbathing area aft that can be furnished as required by the owner.

The Upper Deck has a pool in the bow and contains the big pilothouse , with the captain’s cabin located next to a bridge featuring an integrated Light Bridge console , which has a carbon fiber structure that combines lightweight and strength. This particular solution is the fruit of the first collaboration between Benetti and Seastema, a leading player operating in the field of ship automation, navigation and onboard electronics in all the main sectors of the marine industry. The end result is improved visibility for the captain and crew, plus even more freedom of movement. And with the aim once again of maximising liveability in the wheelhouse area and the guest and captain’s accommodation, all electronic devices are located in a special storage area on the Main Deck.

Amidships, a big living room with a dining table and a space for relaxing leads to the outdoor area in the stern, which is furnished with a table and a series of sofas.

The expansive full-beam owner’s apartment covers about 60 square meters in the bow on the Main Deck . This exclusive suite has a big bathroom , a roomy walk-in wardrobe and a separate office area leading to the Master bedroom.

In the central section of the deck, the day area is furnished exclusively with a series of sofas and low tables. The undisputed protagonist in every space remains the light , which literally floods into the Master and salon through the huge glazed surfaces designed by Cassetta, helped by a design feature that moves the exhaust trunks further forward than usual. This has made it possible to create a big bowed glass salon door that allows the light to enter and increases the sensation of indoor and outdoor areas flowing seamlessly into each other.

The outdoor space that opens out behind the living area is furnished for long periods of total relaxation both at anchor and at sea.

Full-width sliding glass doors in the transom open out onto an elegant beach area fully appointed with sofas and a bar, offering direct access to the sea. To amplify the feeling of being in touch with nature and eliminating the barriers between indoors and outdoors, the only thing separating the indoor and outdoor beach areas is a step just 20 centimeters high. This space can be furnished and used in different ways, as required, both at anchor and at sea. The garage area, which is completely separate from the rest of the yacht is positioned on the side to avoid interfering with the owner and guests, can accommodate a tender over 6 meters long, two three-meter jet skis and various water toys.

The four double cabins with bathroom for guests , out of which  two VIP cabins with double beds, and two cabins with twin beds that can be converted into doubles, are on the Lower Deck , as are the five cabins for the crew of eight plus the captain.

Materials and furnishings: the appeal of modernity creates sophisticated and welcoming moods

The interiors and exteriors are decorated with fine materials chosen to create a refined combination of lighter and darker shades of brown, white and grey, including carbon , burnished brass , various types of wood (particularly oak), and a wide variety of marbles (Grey Stone and Silk Georgette, for example), leathers and fabrics . The futuristic bridge, on the other hand, has a polished carbon finish that highlights the hi-tech beating heart hidden behind this “classic of tomorrow”.

High build standards that reflect the “Obiettivo 50” design culture

The design culture at Benetti has always focused on how to ensure that the yard’s yachts can be enjoyed as time passes, giving satisfaction not only to the first but also to all future owners. This mindset drives the yard’s engineers and designers to find solutions to construction challenges that not only improve comfort but also ensure its durability, that reduce and facilitate maintenance requirements by using components of the very highest quality and by introducing increasingly smart fitting-out techniques, and that make it easier to refurbish the decor in future years.

Benetti recently decided to give this mindset a name: Obiettivo 50.

A name that combines the desire to create the classics of the future, as well as the ability to build boats of the very highest quality that stand the test of time, without losing any of their charm, elegance and functionality.

The effects of this culture are there to see as soon as you go on board Diamond 145. When at sea, the level of silence is quite simply exceptional and puts the boat at the top of its category. This has been achieved by making use of every available solution to reduce noise and vibration to the bare minimum: from a transmission system fitted with an elastic coupling and thrust bearings, to floating floor and bulkheads on all decks (from the Lower to the Upper Deck), the bypass electrovalve fitted to the engine idling exhausts, and soundproofing on the discharge piping in the main onboard spaces.

Moreover, the complex Air Treatment Unit (ATU) has filters to remove dust and water particles and ensures that the air throughout the yacht (owner, guest and crew areas) is fresh and clean by changing it six times an hour.

The fiberglass used for the boat’s exteriors, like all the models in the Class category, is finished with epoxy fillers and painted white to achieve outstanding levels of gloss and aesthetic finish, and to guarantee it stays that way over time. For the same reason, the steel on the deck is all hand polished, piece by piece.

Inside, all decorative wall and ceiling panels are meticulously identified by a barcode and applied using the fitlock system. This level of attention to detail ensures the possibility of rapid repairs, as well as enabling future owners to refurbish the interiors more easily.

Engines and range

The engine room, with a separate Engine Control Room like on a megayacht, contains two 1,400 HP Man 12V engines, giving Diamond 145 a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Top speed is 15 knots and cruising speed 14 knots.

The delivery of Diamond 145 confirms the success of the fiberglass yachts built by Benetti, with sales topping 300 units over the years, and looks ahead to a particularly lively season for Benetti, with various launches and numerous deliveries scheduled in the run up to the start of the autumn boat show season.

Eurocraft 44 Explorer launches in Italy

The 44 metre Eurocraft 44 Explorer yacht has hit the water in Italy at Savona-based shipyard Eurocraft Cantieri Navali . The new model is the second hull in the series and builds on the success of its predecessor, the 44 metre Baron Trenck , which has cruised 60,000 miles since its launch in 2011. 

The Eurocraft 44 Explorer boasts a generous volume of 478 GT and a cruising range of 11,660 nautical miles that allows for long-range exploration. Her exterior possesses “the traditional lines of a modern superyacht with the influences of a strong and confident steel hull," according to brokerage company Fraser , who has listed the boat for sale.

According to Fraser sales broker Marco Fodale, the shipyard has made some upgrades since the launch of Baron Trenck including technological advances and an upgrade to the navigations systems, now optimised for world cruising, as well as a new interior layout. 

Accommodation is provided across six cabins and the yacht’s elegant interiors have been created by the yard’s in-house team. Renderings reveal a contemporary, calm and serene onboard ambience with plenty of natural tones and marble touches.

“A stylish warm interior featuring dark wood and precious marbles will enable guests on board to feel comfortable in all weather conditions including at cold latitudes," says Fodale. "On the main deck, the new layout features a large American galley, with open space and a central island for social cooking."

In terms of features, the yacht is home to a large sundeck with a forward-facing Jacuzzi, protected from the elements by wraparound glass, a shaded lounge area and a spread of sunpads.

Her sistership has proven to be a popular charter platform over the years, and the new model will have many of the same crowd-pleasing amenities.

The launch took place on May 16 and the explorer yacht is set for delivery in summer 2022.

VIRTUS YACHTS 44M

The new Virtus 44-meter luxury yacht, built by the esteemed Turkish yard Mengi Yay, was designed by VYD with Ginton Naval Architects doing the naval architecture. Expected to be delivered in 2019, the steel-hulled, aluminum-superstructure Virtus 44M can accommodate up to 10 guests comfortably along with 8 crew members. She has a top speed of 15 knots pushed by twin Cat C-32 Acert 1,450 HP diesel engines. When asked about the new Virtus 44 project, VYD’s Paolo Dose commented, “Virtus is the product of a strong and elegant design approach, with a sleek profile and innovative technology. These strong and pure lines are what make Virtus special, coupled with the fantastic experience of Mengi Yay.”

As of the end of June, 2018, the Virtus 44M has reached the final stages of construction and moved hangars to the Tuzia shipyard. The yacht will now begin finishing the exterior and interior spaces with its first sea trial to come in mid-2019 in Istanbul.
