Split also boasts some of Croatia's largest marinas, and is within shooting distance of the celebrated islands of Korčula , Hvar , Vis, and Brač . Further south is  Dubrovnik,  a UNESCO World Heritage site of huge architectural prominence.

Istria Region

The Adriatic enjoys an average of 315 cloudless days a year, and with winds in Croatia generally around 10-20 knots, this can make chartering a sailing yacht a great option to explore the picturesque islands and secluded beaches at your leisure. The winds do tend to get stronger in the fall, so bear this in mind when booking your charter. 

There should be ample sailing yachts, gulets (traditional wooden yachts), and catamarans for charter in Croatia, but we do recommend booking early to secure your perfect yacht and desired itinerary. 

Gulet Charters in Croatia

Gulets are traditional wooden boats originating from Turkey , but are now widely available throughout Croatia and Greece . These types of boats offer a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht, for those wishing to spend a bit less but still enjoy a fabulous yacht charter in the Mediterranean . 

With so many options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget in Croatia. The average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in Croatia are as follows;

• For motor yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can range from $32,000 to $1,8m per week plus expenses
• For luxury sailing yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can go from $32,363 to $582,882 weekly plus expenses

The optimal times for yacht charters in Croatia’s sapphire-hued waters span from May till October. During this time, you can benefit from calmer seas, reliably clement weather, and warm swimming temperatures. Croatia’s peak season is July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and packed marinas in these months.

There are 56 official marinas along the Croatian coast from Umag to Dubrovnik. Some of out top picks include;

• ACI Marina Dubrovnik – located within a short distance to Dubrovnik’s historic old town. It has 380 slips and can accommodate yachts up to 60m/196ft. For larger yachts, or yachts not requiring a slip, another popular option is to utilize the international cruise ship terminal quay, which is happy to facilitate yacht charter pick-ups and drop-offs.
• ACI Marina Korčula – ideal for a stop off at one of the many island destinations on your yacht charter, we recommend this sheltered marine, which accommodates yachts up to a maximum LOA of 40m/131ft.
• Lumbarda Marina – also on Korčula this marina has slips catering to yachts up to a max length of 25m/82ft.
• ACI Marina Vrboska – located in the celebrated islnad of Hvar, this marina offers berths for yachts up to a max length of 30m/98ft.
• Cavtat Marina – If you're struggling to find a slip in the summer, we recommend this marina, which is located to the south of Dubrovnik and enjoys good shelter from all winds. It offers 119 slips for yachts up to a max LOA of 60m/197ft.

Some of the best ports in Croatia are also located in the Istria region in northern Croatia. We recommend;

• D-Marin Dalmacija – located a few kilometers south of the ancient city of Zadar, which is the largest marina in Croatia with 1,200 berths and can accommodate yachts up to 80m LOA.
• ACI Marina Rovinj – catering for yachts with a LOA of up to 25m/82ft 
• Marina Funtana – max length 20m/65ft. 

For larger berths in the Split-Dalmatia region:

• ACI Marina Split –  located in the heart of Croatia's "jewel" this marina has recently been modernised, offering great shopping, dining, fuelling and repair services to name but a few, alongside 318 protected berths that can accommodate superyachts up to 90m LOA. 
• Marina Kastela – just 7km up the coast from Split – which can accommodate superyachts of up 150m/492ft in length, with a draft of 8m.
• D-Marin Mandalina – located in the city of Šibenik, situated between two National Parks within a protected lagoon, this marina boasts 429 slips, and has also been specially developed to accommodate yachts of up to 140m/459ft LOA. 

With its rich cultural and architectural history, along with lush national parks and secluded beaches, Croatia is fast becoming one of our most popular destinations. Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;

• Yachts tend to spend more time at anchor in Croatia, so you need to consider that when choosing your perfect yacht. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard. 
• Avoid heading into Dubrovnik when the big cruise ships are in town, these vessels can hold some 3,000 passengers and the town can become uncomfortably crowded.
• You should also be aware that certain zones in Croatia's waters forbid fishing or diving, or require special permissions to do so. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.

There should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.

Croatian Gulets, traditional wooden yachts with wide beams that offer spacious deck areas and generous accommodation, are a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht. Gulets are available to charter for around €13,500-€15,000 per week, which usually includes food and up to 4 hours cruising per day.

Gulets are also perfect for family charters, or those who simply enjoy spending their time out on deck soaking up the beautiful surroundings of this stunning region.

The perfect time for yacht charters in Croatia is between May to October, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, calm sapphire seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.

You should note that Croatia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.

Most charters tend to begin in the beautiful historic towns of Dubrovnik or Split before continuing on to the celebrated islands of Hvar, Mljet, Vis and Brač. Alternatively, you can begin in Montenegro in the south, but you should note there may be additional re-positioning fees to pay as most yachts are based out of Split.

Another option is to begin your yacht charter in Venice, Italy then cross the Adriatic to Croatia's breathtaking northern region before cruising down the coast to Zadar or Split.

Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.

After confirming the availability of your chosen yacht and your booking coming through, you will receive a MYBA charter agreement. MYBA is the Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association and sets the standards for everyone in the industry to adhere to. With it, we can guarantee you the impeccable service you seek. The agreement will also include any additional charges and taxes that may apply to your choice of itinerary.

APA is Advanced Provisioning Allowance. Paid in advance, it covers any additional expenses you rack up during your charter week. It includes fuel, marina fees, on-yacht meals, water toy usage, services, etc. Per the MYBA agreement, it’s usually in the range of 30-40% of the full price. If by the end of your cruise, you haven’t spent the entire amount, you’ll receive the remainder of it back. If your expenses exceed the upfront paid amount, you’ll have to cover them before disembarking.

From the moment you reach out to us, we work closely with you to determine your wishes and preferences and plan your itinerary accordingly. You’ll have to adhere to your yacht’s possible limitations and heed any captain’s advice. Yacht cruises are subject to weather conditions, marina availability, etc. But we always do everything in our power to reach your utmost satisfaction.

Booking yacht charters right before or already in the season is virtually impossible. Therefore, we suggest you aim to book the preferred vessel at least 6 months in advance to avoid the risk of losing out on it or the preferred dates.

Croatia, with its Mediterranean climate, offers a broad window into when you can visit it on a yacht charter. If you prefer milder temperatures and lesser crowds, we suggest visiting in spring or fall. Even though the summer season sees the most traffic, you can enjoy a cruise outside it just as much, if not more.

Gratuities are not subject to any written agreement, but they are customary. Depending on your satisfaction with the crew and service, you can pay between 10% and 15% to the captain, who will divide it among the entire staff.

In January 2023, Croatia switched from Kuna to Euro. For payments onboard, you should carry some cash with you. As for the other transactions in the country, you can count on most places having an option for card payment. If not, you won’t have much trouble finding ATMs around, either.

The crew understands and can communicate with you in English. Some members are even multilingual, speaking languages like Spanish, Italian, German, etc. If you have any preferences, you may let us know, and we will find the best solution for you.

Primarily, it is crucial to take weather conditions into account and heed the advice of your skilled captain for safety purposes. Additionally, locating secluded bays might prove challenging during peak season, and maintaining tranquility after midnight is expected. If planning a large celebration, it is advisable to inform the captain beforehand to preempt any potential complications. Anchoring in bays offers a delightful opportunity for morning swims and delightful dinners beneath the stars, yet it is suggested to converse with your captain and arrange for dinner instead of lunch when opting for a half-board package.

In welchen Zeitraum kann ich ein Boot mieten?

Grundsätzlich können Sie ein Boot wochenweise mieten, also eine, zwei, drei oder sogar mehrere Wochen. Der  Charterzeitraum in der Hauptsaison ist immer von Samstag bis Samstag. Je nach Verfügbarkeit, ist ein Charterzeitraum von Mittwoch bis Mittwoch oder sogar ein 10 Tages Charter möglich. In der Nebensaison können flexiblere Termine angeboten werden.

Kann ich ein Boot auch ohne Skipper-Lizenz chartern?

Ja, Sie können auch ohne Skipper-Lizenz ein Boot mieten. Hierzu wird einfach ein Skipper bzw. eine Crew zum Boot mit gebucht. Zusätzlich können Sie auch einen Koch oder eine Hostess buchen. Wenn Sie selber die passende Skipper-Lizenz besitzen, steht es Ihnen frei, ob Sie selber fahren oder einen Skipper bzw. eine Crew dazu nehmen.

Mit welchen Kosten muss ich rechnen?

Die Kosten setzen sich aus folgenden Positionen zusammen und sind im Angebot einzeln aufgelistet:

• Obligatorische Extras (Transit Log, Endreinigung, Kurtaxe)
• Optionale Extras (Skipper, Koch, Gastgeberin, Wassersport Equipment, etc.)
• Charterversicherungen (Haftpflicht, Rücktritt, Kaution, etc.)
• Hafen- bzw. Liegegebühren

Was ist APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)

APA oder Advance Provisioning Allowance, ist eine Vorauszahlung bei Charter mit einer professionellen Crew bzw. bei Yachten mit fixer Crew. Hier wird ein gewisser Prozentsatz (ca. 20% – 30%) vom Charterpreis berechnet und für die laufenden Ausgaben, während des Charters, verwendet. Hier einige Beispiele: Crew, Treibstoff, Anlegegebühren, Lebensmittel, Getränke usw. Die Crew führt, anhand der Belege, Buch über die Ausgaben. Am Ende des Charters gibt es dann eine genaue Endabrechnung. Je nach Ergebnis, gibt es entweder ein Guthaben oder eine Nachzahlung.

Wie läuft eine Buchung ab?

Zuerst suchen wir, gemäß Ihren Vorstellungen und den gewünschten Zeitraum, das passende Boot für Sie aus. Danach werden im Zuge einer umfangreichen Beratung sämtliche Details besprochen und abgeklärt. Um einen schnellen und reibungslosen Check-In zu gewährleisten, erstellen wir für Sie alle benötigten Unterlagen im Voraus und übermitteln diese an die zuständigen Stellen.

Wie läuft die Zahlung ab?

Die Anzahlung ist nach der Buchungsbestätigung zu tätigen und die Restzahlung erfolgt ca. 4 Wochen vor dem Chartertermin.

Check-In und Check-Out?

Der Check-In findet zwischen 16:00 Uhr und 18:00 Uhr statt. Der Check-Out kann Freitagabend oder Samstagfrüh durchgeführt werden. Ein früherer Check-In bzw. ein späterer Check-Out ist, je nach Verfügbarkeit, gegen eine Aufzahlung möglich.

Welche Häfen- bzw. Liegeplätze kann ich anfahren?

Das Boot liegt immer im jeweiligen Heimathafen, der zugleich der Ausgangspunkt ist. Von dort aus können Sie dann die gewünschten Buchten und Häfen anfahren.

Wo kann ich mein Auto parken?

Sie können Ihr Auto im jeden größeren Hafen parken. Der Parkplatz ist jedoch kostenpflichtig. Alternativ gibt es in der näheren Umgebung auch andere Parkmöglichkeiten.

Wo gibt es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten?

Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurant und Sanitäreinrichtungen befinden sich meistens direkt bzw. in unmittelbarer Nähe vom Hafen.

Kann ich auch mit dem Flugzeug anreisen?

Ja, Sie können mit dem Flugzeug zum nächstgelegenen Flughafen anreisen. Von dort aus geht es dann per Taxi oder Shuttle Service in den jeweiligen Hafen.

Wie hoch sind die Stornokosten?

Die Stornokosten sind je nach Charterfirma unterschiedlich und werden im Zuge der Beratung bzw. Buchung besprochen.

In Kroatien zeigt sich die Adriaküste besonders abwechslungsreich, hunderte Inseln säumen die Küsten des Landes von der Kvarner Bucht bis Dubrovnik. Doch auch die Küste Istriens mit ihren schönen Städten ist ein beliebtes Segelrevier. Klima : im Landesinneren kontinental, an der Küste mediterran Wind : Bora und Jugo/Scirocco, Maestral und Nevera Segel-Saison : April bis Ende Oktober

Beliebte Yachten | Kroatien

Kroatien ist eines, wenn nicht das beliebteste Törnziel im Mittelmeerraum. Und das aus gutem Grund. Mit seiner langgezogenen Festlandküste von 1778 km und über 1000 Inseln, die noch einmal rund 4400 km Küste mehr ergeben, finden Segelnde nicht nur viele Möglichkeiten, ihren Törn zu gestalten, auch bieten je nach Revier die Inseln vor dem Festland Schutz vor Wellengang und Meereswind. In allen Revieren befindet sich eine gute Infrastruktur aus modernen Marinas und Häfen, Anlegestellen und Bojenfeldern, in der Regel innerhalb von kurzen Distanzen. Auch das Angebot an Yachten ist groß.

Angenehme Luft- und Wassertemperaturen, moderate Winde und eine Menge schöner Buchten ziehen viele Segelnde in die Reviere. Damit ist die kroatische Adria auch für weniger erfahrene Segler und Familien attraktiv. Als Nachweis für das Segeln benötigt man den SBF-See oder ICC sowie einen Funkschein. Die Befähigungen können aufgeteilt werden. Es reicht daher, wenn ein Mitglied aus der Crew den Funkschein vorweisen kann.

Istrien – grüne Halbinsel mit italienischem Flair

Die Halbinsel Istrien im Norden Kroatiens lässt sich noch gut mit dem Auto von Deutschland aus erreichen. Die Standorte mit dem größten Yachtangebot befinden sich im Süden der Halbinsel, wo auch die Kvarner Bucht und die kroatische Inselwelt beginnt. An der grünen Küste der Halbinsel liegen viele Städte und Dörfer mit schönen Altstädten und versprühen ein italienisches Flair mit ihren farbenfrohen venezianischen Häuserreihen, schmalen Gassen und schönen Promenaden. So etwa Rovinj und Poreč mit einer Fülle an Restaurants, Konobas, Sehenswürdigkeiten und kulturellen Veranstaltungen. Auch ein Ausflug in den Limski-Kanal bei Vrsar lohnt sich, den man zu einem Teil mit dem Boot befahren und dann wandernd oder mit dem Fahrrad erkunden kann. Hier gibt es verschiedene Fisch- und Muschelzuchten aufgrund des sauerstoffreichen Wassers, was sich auch in den Speisekarten der dortigen Konobas niederschlägt.

In Pula im südlichen Teil der Halbinsel finden Sie eine größere Auswahl von Yachten. Das Wahrzeichen einer der ältesten Städte Istriens ist das gut erhaltene Amphitheater, in dem viele Veranstaltungen stattfinden. Vor der Küste liegen die Brijuni-Inseln, welche seit 1985 ein Nationalpark sind. Auf der Hauptinsel Veli Brijun darf man im Hafen mit der Charteryacht anlegen. Ebenfalls vor der Küste liegen eine Reihe von Schiffswracks, die bei Tauchern beliebt sind. Nicht nur weil sie gut erhalten sind, sondern auch wegen der Vielfalt an Meeresfauna und -flora, die sie als neues Zuhause nutzen.

Von den Segelbedingungen her begegnet man in Istrien moderaten Winden. Wer seinen Törn in die Kvarner Bucht fortsetzt, sollte dort auf die Bora achten, die Orkanstärke erreichen kann. Anders als im Süden liegen vor der Küste Istriens weniger Inseln, die Wellengang abhalten. Dafür ist die Küste stärker gegliedert und bietet viele schöne Buchten zum Baden und Entspannen. Zum Beispiel am Kap Kamenjak mit den Startorten Pomer und Medulin in der Nähe.

Kvarner Bucht – grüne Inseln mit pittoresken Orten

Wer in Istrien, etwa von Pula aus, startet, kann auch die Kvarner Bucht mit ihren Inseln einplanen oder direkt von hier starten. Auf den größeren Inseln Krk, Cres, Pag und Rab finden Sie in den belebten Hauptorten vor allem in der Hauptsaison alles, was Sie brauchen. Im restlichen Teil der Inseln geht es entspannter und ruhiger zu, mit vielen Anker- und Restaurantbuchten sowie Muringfeldern. Sie können auch von Punat auf der Insel Krk starten und den gleichnamigen Hauptort mit seiner schönen Altstadt sowie seinem kulinarischen Angebot erkunden.

Von dort aus geht es in den etwas ruhigeren weiteren Teil der Inselwelt, etwa auf die grüne Insel Losinj, die zu Wanderungen und in den schönen Buchten zum Baden einlädt. Die einstige Seefahrerstadt Mali Losinj bietet einen geschützten Naturhafen sowie viele Restaurants und Cafés. Schöne Ecken zum Verweilen finden Sie auch auf der Insel Cres, die im Norden bewaldet und im Süden mit Macchia bedeckt ist. Teils besteht sie aus Steilküste, teils aus Buchten mit Kiesstränden. Auf Rab bietet sich die gleichnamige Stadt zum Bummeln und Einkehren an. Auf der Insel gibt es auch schöne Sandstrände zum Sonnen und Entspannen. In der Kvarner Bucht und im Velebit-Kanal ist zu beachten, dass die Bora, der Fallwind vom Land, Orkanstärke annehmen kann. Die Inseln bieten eine Reihe von geschützten Buchten und Häfen.

Norddalmatien – Nationalparks und Stadtgeschichten

In Norddalmatien , im Herzen Kroatiens, liegen die Standorte dicht beieinander und bieten eine große Auswahl an Yachten. Die meisten stehen in der größten Marina des Landes, Sukošan , zur Verfügung, sowie in Biograd . Die langgezogenen Inseln vor der Festlandküste geben Schutz vor den Wellen vom offenen Meer. Auch dieses Revier ist abwechslungsreich: Historische Städte wie Zadar und Šibenik sind schöne Ziele mit vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten, einem spannenden historischen Erbe und Möglichkeiten für einen Einkaufsbummel sowie zum Flanieren.

In der Inselgruppe der Kornaten sowie dem Šibenik-Archipel finden Segelnde Entspannung in den vielen Buchten zum Baden und Sonnen sowie Restaurant- und Konobastege. Die Kornaten und die nördlich davon gelegene Insel Dugi Otok lassen sich gut wandernd erkunden mit ihren Seen, Höhlen und historischen Orten. Auch der Krka-Nationalpark mit seinen mehrstufigen Wasserfällen ist ein Highlight des Reviers, das man über einen See mit der Yacht erreichen kann. Im südlichen Teil des Reviers nähert man sich auch den beliebten größeren Städten Trogir und Split mit ihren historischen und kulturellen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch weniger erfahrene Segelnde und Familien finden im Revier gute Bedingungen durch den Schutz der Inseln und kurze Distanzen sowie ein vielfältiges Angebot an Unternehmungen.

Mitteldalmatien – Weltkulturerbe-Städte und Inselhopping

In einer UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe-Städte könnte Ihr Törn in Mitteldalmatien starten. Trogir und Split vereinen eine Fülle an historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten auf engem Raum und sind nicht umsonst als Film- und Serienkulisse beliebt. Hinter den Fassaden stecken viele Geschichten der Region, welche über die Jahrhunderte unter verschiedenen Herrschaften stand. In den Restaurants und Konobas können Sie die lokalen Spezialitäten und Weine kennenlernen. In den beiden Städten gibt es in punkto Veranstaltungen und Nachtleben ebenfalls eine größere Auswahl.

Den Ausgleich zum städtischen Trubel bieten die vorgelagerten Inseln, von denen die größten Šolta , Brač, Hvar und Vis sind. Das grüne Šolta lässt auf Wanderwegen erkunden. Auf Hvar finden Taucher mehrere Basen und ein beliebtes Revier. Vor Hvar muten die Paklinski-Inseln fast karibisch an. Auch Vis ist bestens geeignet zum Tauchen, Schnorcheln und Baden. Hier ist die Grotte von Biševo ein Highlight. Auf Brač können Sie am bekanntesten Strand des Landes, Zlatni Rat, einen Badestopp einlegen und etwa in Milna die Weine der Insel kennenlernen. Die Inseln liegen etwas weiter auseinander als im Norden und nicht so parallel zur Küste für Schutz vor Wellengang. Das Revier bietet aber ebenfalls eine gute Infrastruktur mit vielen Marinas.

Süddalmatien – Baden und Sonnen bei entspannten Segelbedingungen

Zentrum Süddalmatiens ist die Stadt Dubrovnik , die auch als kroatisches Athen gilt, welches einiges in punkto Sightseeing verspricht. Schon vom Wasser aus bietet die Stadt einen tollen Anblick mit ihrer langen gut erhaltenen Stadtmauer. Weitere lohnenswerte Ziele sind die Insel Korčula und der Nationalpark Mljet sowie die Elaphiten und Lastovo, die allesamt grüner sind, als es im Norden der Fall ist. Hier im Süden fallen die Temperaturen wärmer aus als in den nördlicheren Revieren und da kommen die schönen Ankerbuchten gerade recht zum Baden, Schnorcheln und Sonnen. Die Windverhältnisse sind auch etwas ruhiger als im Norden und Distanzen zwischen den Marinas und Häfen kurz, daher ist dieses Revier auch für Einsteiger sehr gut geeignet.

Von Dubrovnik aus sind die Elaphiten-Inseln nicht weit. Alte Wehrtürme, Kirchen und Klöster in urigen Ortschaften zeugen von der Besiedlung in antiken und mittelalterlichen Zeiten. Die drei größten Inseln sind Koločep, Lopud und Šipan. Hier gibt es viele Möglichkeiten zum Wandern, Tauchen und Baden. Südlich von hier liegt die grüne Insel Mljet. Einst ein berüchtigtes Seeräubernest, ist der Westen Mljets heute ein Nationalpark mit ausgedehnten Wäldern und zwei Salzseen. Die gebirgige Insel Lastovo und die sie umgebenden Eilande wurden ebenfalls zum Naturpark erklärt. Sie sind umgeben von vielen schönen Buchten. Die große Insel Korčula ist an der Nordküste recht flach. Hier liegt die vielbesuchte pittoreske Altstadt Korčulas, in der Marco Polo geboren wurde. In der größten und am besten geschützten Bucht an der steileren Südküste liegt die Stadt Vela Luka, von der aus sich Ausflüge in die Umgebung mit dichten Mischwäldern, Oliven- und Feigenbäumen, Wein und Zitrusfrüchten anbieten.

Wundervoller Herbsttörn ab Trogir

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Urlaub auf einer gut gepflegten und gewarteten Yacht. Die Mitarbeiter von Pitter waren ALLE unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent! Ende Oktober haben wir, von Trogir aus, die Inseln Solta, Brac und Hvar besucht, aber auch den den ein oder anderen Hafen der Festlandsküste. Wir haben die Ruhe der Nachsaison sehr genossen. In einigen Häfen waren wir die einzigen Gäste und hatten so die Möglichkeit alles in Ruhe und ohne touristischen Trubel zu erkunden und zu erleben.

Einer der schönsten Urlaube

2 Wochen ab 30.9. von Punat zu den Kornaten und zurück. 14 Tage strahlender Sonnenschein. Meine Frau und ich hatten einen der schönsten Urlaube unseres Lebens. Die nagelneue Bavaria 34 war genau richtig für uns. 10m Länge reichte mir als Rookie Skipper völlig. Habe dieses Jahr erst die Scheine gemacht. Die Abende in den Ankerbuchten, in denen wir teilweise ganz alleine waren, waren grandios. Entspannung pur. Zadar, was für eine tolle Stadt, die Kornaten, traumhafte Inselwelt. Danke an Pitter und den Partner Delfin Yachting in Punat für den unvergesslichen Urlaub. Alles hat perfekt geklappt. Wir haben nicht zum letzten bei Pitter eine Segelyacht gechartert.

Concert promoter Live Nation is getting into the ultra-luxury cruise business — see what it'll be like on weeklong superyacht sailings starting at $3,000 a person

• Live Nation's Vibee is getting into the ultra-luxury cruise business.
• The music event curator says it'll charter two superyachts for three weeklong Croatia cruises this summer.
• Like other vacation operators, Vibee says it's seen increasing demand for cruise and yacht-based trips.

Forget concerts — Live Nation wants music fans to start going on yacht vacations .

In 2023 and amid a boom in experiential travel , the entertainment company established Vibee, a music-based event curation arm. Less than a year later, Vibee has already executed affairs like a weekend Bahamas getaway headlined by singer Lionel Richie and a three-day Cabo San Lucas, Mexico party featuring DJ Tiësto.

Now, it's moving off-land and to the high seas with its new segment: Vibee Yacht Club.

This summer, Vibee says it'll charter two superyachts for three weeklong Croatia itineraries that are set to be, of course, centered on music.

Vibee is capitalizing on yet another increasingly popular concept: themed cruises.

Themed cruises can vary vastly, from Star Trek-centered sailings to itineraries helmed by famous comedians. And as of late, many of these niche voyages have been selling out faster than ever before.

Themed cruise operator Sixthman's November 2023 hip-hop itinerary sold out in less than five days with no publicly announced lineup.

Similarly, Vibee's first cruise, the 2023 EDSea — a wordplay on the electronic dance music festival Electric Daisy Carnival, or EDC — was fully booked in three days, again with an undisclosed lineup.

Armed with EDSea’s success, Vibee wants to dive deeper into the cruise segment — this time with a luxurious spin.

"We see the desire for cruise and yacht experiences continuing to rise," Harvey Cohen, president of Vibee, told Business Insider, echoing sentiments of the cruise industry's booming demand.

And not just the mass-market players: Over the last year, luxury cruise lines have also seen a rise in interest.

In its fourth-quarter earnings report from February 2024, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings said its two high-end brands, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas, had both seen "strong demand."

The latter had launched its latest $517.9 million luxury ship a few months prior, complete with caviar and a $6 million art collection.

Luxury cruises and superyachts aren’t known to be super-affordable.

Vibee says it's chartering the 141-foot-long Lupus Mare and nearly 161-foot-long Prestige for its three yacht sailings.

Vibee Yacht Club's cheapest option starts at $3,100 per person for a two-person cabin. Comparatively, EDSea's 2024 itinerary starts at $1,405 per person for a double occupancy interior cabin.

Yet, it could be a bargain for some superyacht fans: Weeklong charters for Lupus Mare start at about $71,000 a week, according to YachtCharterFleet.

Everything is better on a yacht. Champagne? Tastes better on a yacht. Cruises in general? Better on a yacht.

Going to an international music festival? Well, Vibee thinks it would be better to stay on a yacht than in a hotel.

On July 13, the first itinerary would start on day two of Ultra Europe, a popular three-day electronic dance music festival in Split, Croatia.

Following the event, the two yachts would sail to three Croatian islands before concluding in Hvar, Croatia. Along the way, the itinerary would include daytime swims, a sunset winery visit, and several parties (day and night).

Unsurprisingly, Vibee expects the itinerary to draw in younger travelers, specifically Gen Zers and millennials.

Lupus Mare is set to be chartered for two more itineraries: “Rock the Med” and “Marafiki on the Adriatic.”

A three-person cabin for both starts at $3,500 per person.

On Rock the Med, the week is set to begin with VIP tickets to a Lenny Kravitz show at the historic Pula Arena.

Afterward, it would sail to Croatian destinations with an itinerary that would include beach excursions and clubs.

Marafiki on the Adriatic isn’t centered on a single music event.

Instead, the roundtrip Split itinerary would feature on-board musical performances, daily yoga, "cultural outings," and, of course, beach clubs.

A bonus trip to Sonus Festival, a five-day rave, is an optional add-on.

Like a typical luxury cruise, travelers would have preorganized water taxis, chefs to prepare daily breakfasts and lunches, and all the yacht amenities.

The 20-cabin, 40-guest Prestige flexes indulgences like an indoor lounge, a hot tub, and a sundeck with plenty of beds.

Meanwhile, the 15-cabin, 34-guest Lupus Mare has comforts like a sauna and gym.

Travelers could wind down in the yacht's movie theater or hot tub. Or, they could take a slide into the water.

It’s no surprise Vibee is going the more sumptuous route with its itinerary-focused yacht concept.

" Revenge travel " might as well be known as "regular travel" at this point: People have continued to spend big on extravagant vacations, especially on luxury small cruise ships and trips planned around experiences and adventures.

Both are niches Vibee is trying to carve out for itself: Looking ahead, the new brand is already planning more music and sea-based vacations, Cohen told Business Insider.
