Accommodations

Step down the companionway ladder into the cabin and immediately to port is a fully equipped galley and to starboard a pilot berth with navigation center. The salon is central with settees to port and starboard and a wall mounted folding salon table. Forward a hanging locker is to starboard and an enclosed head to port. A private V-berth sits at the head of the boat with a chain locker in the forepeak.

A brand new 2022 model Yanmar 3YM20 was installed in summer of 2023. The engine is still in the break in phase. Engine raw water thru-hull is accessible in the aft section of the bilge, aft of the fuel tank. An engine disconnect is located port of the companionway to disable the engine from starting. 

The galley has been retrofitted with a new Isotherm fridge with built in freezer box, a Seaward CNG fueled two burner range and oven, new single deep basin stainless steel galley sink with folding foot pump faucet, custom wood racks and ample storage throughout. 

An 18 gallon stainless steel fuel tank is on centerline under the salon sole. 

A 38 gallon water bladder is located under the starboard settee. 

An approx. 15 gallon stainless steel holding tank is located under the v-berth. 

Additional Information

The port settee has two LNG tanks below and a custom wooden storage rack above. It can be used as a small berth for overnight accommodations. 

Under the pilot berth are two new thin plate AGM batteries and new AC/DC electrical wiring. 

An electric bilge pump is included with the sale but is not installed. 

The vessel was previously kept on a mooring for 20 years in Southwest Harbor, Maine, and had no AC wiring. In 2022 the AC system was installed exceeding ABYC standards. This included a new breaker panel and a Smart plug / shore power cord. At the same time, the DC wiring was mostly replaced including new AGM thin plate batteries, a custom DC breaker panel, 12v outlets and more. 

An electric windlass was replaced with an ABI manual (Plath style) windlass to lift the ground tackle – 100′ 5/16″ chain, 150′ 8plait line, 25lb Rocna anchor. 

Upholstery is less than 10 years old and is marine grade with mold resistant foam.

Bottom paint new in May 2023, hull is cleaned regularly. 

The standing and running rigging were replaced in late 2022. During that time the mast was pulled and the lower end trimmed for corrosion, a custom G10 mast step riser was fabricated to keep mast height the same. Chainplates were removed, checked for corrosion and re-bedded.

The  Leigh 30  is an American sailboat that was designed by Chuck Paine as a cruiser and first built in 1979.[1][2][3][4]

The Leigh 30 design is also known as the Morris 30 and is similar to the Victoria 30, both Paine designs. The Victoria 30 was built by Victoria Yachts in England.[1][4]

Production description 

The design was built by Morris Yachts in Bass Harbor, Maine, United States. The company built 19 examples of the design, starting in 1979, but it is now out of production.[1][3][4][5]

The Leigh 30 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a cutter rig, a raked stem, a canoe transom, a keel-mounted rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed long keel with the forefoot cutaway. A wheel was optional. It displaces 9,100 lb (4,128 kg) and carries 4,400 lb (1,996 kg) of lead ballast.[1][3][4]

The boat has a draft of 4.60 ft (1.40 m) with the standard keel fitted.[1][4]

The fuel tank holds 18 U.S. gallons (68 L; 15 imp gal) and the fresh water tank has a capacity of 37 U.S. gallons (140 L; 31 imp gal).[3]

The boats were built with a variety of lower deck layouts, but typical is a galley on the port side with a two-burner kerosene stove, top-loading ice box and a sink with manual water pump. The head is located just aft of the bow “V”-berth, with a hanging locker opposite. There is additional sleeping accommodation in the main cabin, with a starboard pilot berth, a settee and very small port side berth. The wood used in the interior is pine and mahogany, with additional painted wood. Teak is employed above decks.

Ventilation is provided by seven bronze ports that open, and one hatch over the salon. 

The cockpit has two main winches, plus a halyard winch and additional sheeting winch on the coach house roof. There are inboard genoa tracks and a bow roller for a CQR anchor on the bow.[3]

The design has a PHRF racing average handicap of 192 and a hull speed of 6.47 kn (11.98 km/h).[3][4]

Designers Notes

   "The new Morris 28 is my latest design for Morris Yachts of Southwest Harbor, Maine. She is intended to combine the robust construction, ample tankage and unsurpassed directional and transverse stability demanded by a growing Bermuda and Beyond clientele, with fully modern, computer optimized hull lines and weight distribution to please the coastal cruisers and yacht club racers. The 28' overall length was selected in order comfortably accommodate four adults for brief periods (or two living aboard for longer cruises) while still permitting a fully enclosed head... full sized galley usable upright or offshore, and truly ample storage in sensibly sized lockers. Yet in terms of original cost, ease of anchoring, size of sails and winches, and ability to be maintained simply and inexpensively, she still retains the virtues of a small boat. Linda possess all the seakeeping qualities which has made the Morris/Paine line of yachts so well respected. The designed waterline is exceptionally long for high speed potential and damping of pitching motion; ballast is of external cast lead for stability and security if grounded; all ports are opening and bronze; interior headroom is over six feet as are the cockpit seats for snoozing; inboard diesel power is standard with the propeller fully protected in a properly faired aperture; the glass work superbly laminated yet completely hidden from view belowdecks by fine Maine standard wood joinerwork. In a series of photos posted by gossip blog Deuxmoi Monday, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were seen holding hands as they walked through the docks of an undisclosed location.

Although it’s unclear if they were on their way into the docks or out, they tried to keep a low profile with the “Lover” songstress hiding behind a baseball cap and sunglasses.

They also sported neutral outfits with Swift wearing a long-sleeve shirt and shorts and Kelce rocking a T-shirt and shorts.

Their getaway comes amid reports that the NFL star is planning a vacation with the 14-Grammy winner ahead of the release of her highly-anticipated album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19.

An insider close to Kelce, 34, told the US Sun, “He booked some very nice hotel suites and tables at great restaurants to take her on days off.

He wants to take her on romantic getaways to have her relax and go discover those nice cities and European romantic places together.”

Swift, 34, is not set to take the stage for her Eras Tour for another two months after wrapping up her concerts in Asia and Australia.

Amid their respective breaks from their careers, the A-list couple are reportedly nesting at the pop star’s Los Angeles estate.

“They’re focused on rest and recuperation and relaxing at home and having low-key and chill time together,” an insider told Us Weekly last week. “They are enjoying movie nights in her home theater, catching up on films and shows they’ve missed.”

However, they have not missed out on some of the most exclusive parties in Hollywood as they were seen at  Madonna’s ultra-exclusive post-Oscars bash while the NFL star was also  spotted at Jay-Z’s annual “Gold Party.”

Aside from attending the star-studded parties, Swift has also hosted a few “small, intimate gatherings” of her own.

“They can finally rest and intend on spending quality time together and with friends and family,” a source told Us Weekly.
