Taking place in 2025 from 2 - 8 August, Cowes Week is one of the UK's biggest and longest-running regattas in the world, offering seven days of high calibre competition. With all sailing abilities welcome and more than 40 races taking place daily throughout Cowes Week, it’s a great time to take your passion for sailing to another level.

Prometheus Sailing is the official charter supplier for Cowes Week and the only charter company to have a dedicated racing class, pitting competitors against one another in a fleet of identical Prometheus 41 yachts. Victory belongs to the crew with the greatest skill and teamwork.

We offer an exclusive and dedicated hospitality area in the heart of Cowes for our Cowes Week clients, providing the perfect area to meet your crew mates and professional crew at the start of the day and for our daily après-sail drinks and prize giving.

After the success of 2024, we are delighted to announce that our 2025 VIP hospitality area for our daily après sail drinks and prize giving will, once again, be hosted at the exclusive, private members sailing club - the Island Sailing Club (ISC). The ISC is ideally situated in the heart of Cowes, in close proximity to Cowes Yacht Haven and the Red Jet ferry service in West Cowes. 

We are also delighted to announce that Prometheus Sailing has been appointed as the Official Charter Supplier for Cowes Week 2025.

Our inclusive packages 

Choose from bareboat or skippered packages for the week or just for the day. With our late morning race start times, crews will get the chance to practice in the morning before racing in the afternoon. Afterwards, congratulate the winners at our exclusive prize-giving area and get the post-race party started early. Put your skills to the test with Sunsail and enjoy the superb racing conditions of England's famous Solent.

Prometheus Sailing is delighted to offer two new packages for individuals wishing to take part in Cowes Week 2025, offering a single day race package, or a weekend race package.

Single Day 'Rock up and Race' Package (Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd August) is priced at just £295 inc VAT per person per day. Our single day 'Rock up and Race' Cowes Week package includes:

• Place on a Prometheus 41 yacht on 2nd or 3rd August 
• Professional skipper
• Professional 1st mate
• Berth in Cowes Yacht Haven 
• Loan of wet weather gear
• Soft drinks and lunch
• Après sail drink in our hospitality area at the Island Sailing Club
• All safety equipment

Weekend 'Rock up and Race' Package (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August) is priced at just £595 inc VAT per person. Our weekend 'Rock up and Race' Cowes Week package includes:

• Place on a Prometheus 41 yacht for 2 days on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd August
• Some sleep aboard options available in shared cabins

Thrilling On-The-Water Racing Since 1826

As one of the longest running events of the social season, the world-renowned Cowes Week is an institution for sailors and sailing fans the world over. Up to a thousand boats take part in this historic regatta, with 40 exciting races held every day of the week.

Amateurs, professionals and world champions alike compete for glory – and even if you don’t have a boat, you can still get in on the racing action by joining an existing crew. Offer your abilities on the crew forums or keep an eye out on social media for other sailors in need.

If you prefer to be spectating rather than competing, Cowes Week still has plenty to offer. As well as thrilling races from a wide variety of boat classes, there’s also sailing talks, music performances, cocktail parties, afternoon tea and perhaps a celebrity appearance or two.

Cowes Week, Isle of Wight – The Oldest and Biggest Regatta in the World

Every year The Solent is home to many yacht racing events and this year is no different!  Cowes Week  will be returning to The Solent   Saturday 30st July - Saturday 6th August  and   makes for the perfect backdrop to your charter. Want to do more than spectating? Why not try racing yourself! We've teamed up with Tigress Sailing to offer the opportunity to take part in the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world! Cowes Week 2022! Join us in Cowes on Friday for a training day then from Saturday through till Wednesday there will be one round the cans race per day lasting on average 3-4hrs. In the evenings there are various parties/social events and a buzzing atmosphere, this is one not to miss!

Alex, Becca and the team could not have been more helpful considering we called them at 4:45 Tuesday for a boat on Wednesday, another charter company had let us down at the last minute. Check-out and back in was well organized and we had a great 3 days sailing.

As a family, including our 4 year old Labrador, we recently chartered a 'bareboat' yacht from Hamble Point Charters for 7 days to cruise the Solent. The company were fantastic from our first enquiry to handing back the boat. The yacht was clean and well presented. A great week and we will happily use them again!

We have just had another wonderful week on a yacht we chartered from Hamble Point Yacht Charters. We have sailed several of their boats, this time it was a lovely 35 foot Bavaria. Chartering from HPYC is always an easy choice for us: the boats are well maintained, support is excellent, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. On top of that, Hamble Point is such an ideal starting location for sailing around the Solent.

This is truly a 5 * service. The team really looked after us both ashore on arrival and also while at sea. We were a relatively inexperienced crew but always felt the team ashore had our backs. Thoroughly recommended.

I just wanted to say Thank-you very much for the weekend charter. It was exactly what we were after (albeit cold!) plus Andy was an awesome teacher and great company. We’ll definitely be keen to book again soon!

We had a fabulous four days. Marina is ideally placed for the Solent, boat was in great condition, well equipped and a joy to sail. We were well briefed and the shore side team including the dog very friendly.

We charted one of the sailing yachts for a fantastic weekend cruise in the Solent. The boat was in superb condition and well equipped, the staff was very helpful explaining how things work on the yacht and there was also a video available with all the important information. 10/10 would recommend!

Had a fantastic week chartering Blue Otter, Alex was incredibly helpful and sent loads of information and date checking prior to booking. There was a handover video and both the handover and return were really smooth. The boat was lovely and well maintained and Lee was really helpful in recommending places to visit (and helping identify the steering issue as an autopilot takeover - doh!). Definitely will be back and would fully recommend!

Just back from a lovely week in the Solent. Great service from HPYC from first inquiry through to return handover. Very straightforward to deal with, and the yacht was in excellent condition. We've chartered from many companies in the UK and abroad and the attention to detail (and flawless inventory!) was second to none. Everything about the yacht and equipment had clearly been well looked after and was in immaculate condition. Great service, will use again.

We had a great time sailing with Lee for a few days at the beginning of September. Hamble Point Yacht Charters supplied us an impeccable 45 ft Hanse yacht, which was handled with complete mastery by Captain Lee.It was a privilege to sail with Lee, who is clearly a highly skilled professional taking great pride in his work ... but who is also a fantastic character with a great sense of humour and plenty of fun stories to keep the whole family entertained. He balances the serious side of safety and learning about sailing with a whopping dose of amusement and good cheer. We sailed the Solent in some decent seas, visited Bucklers Hard on the banks of the Beaulieu River and learned lots about British nautical history. Our boys started somewhat of a fishing trend catching bass off the back of the boat in Portsmouth and we would love to sail with Lee again in the future.The man truly knows his stuff, maintained the boat impeccably and went to every effort to ensure that we had a great time. Many thanks to “Shippers” and Hamble Point Charters. We’ll be back.

Racing Yacht Charter

The eight day racing programme starts on Saturday 27 th July and finishes on Friday 2 nd  August 2024. Usually there is one race per day typically lasting between 2.5 – 4.5 hours, depending on the tide, weather conditions and course set by the race officers from the Royal Yacht Squadron.

Novices or experts alike

The yacht you charter is crewed with a minimum of a skipper and mate, thus enabling a complement of complete novices to take full part in the racing. More typically, crews have a mixed range of experience and we are used to accommodating all skill levels. No experience... no problem!

One day or several

Many of our clients take part in a single day's racing whilst others will book consecutive days and then host their own clients racing with a different crew of guests each day.

Race prepared boats

We have a range of top class race prepared boats available and will find the best fit for your crew, objectives and budget. Whether you’re just looking to take part or are after a racing machine for a podium position, we take care of all the details. The precise sail wardrobe and use of spinnakers will be at the skipper's discretion according to conditions and crew experience.

The social side

If staying overnight to soak up the social side, let us find accommodation and book the best social events. Inevitably many venues are ticket only and this is where our expert local knowledge comes in.
