Why MrBeast’s New Video Became the Second Most Watched in 24 Hours in YouTube History

Y ouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known to most as MrBeast , recently uploaded a new video that racked up 47 million views in 24 hours to become the second most watched non-music YouTube video within that time frame. In the video, titled “$1 vs $1,000,000,000 Yacht,” the 25-year-old compares a sinking boat worth one dollar to various luxury boats and a billion-dollar yacht. It also features surprise celebrity appearances from comedian Pete Davidson and recently retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady .

MrBeast, the third most subscribed YouTuber, who is known for his generous giveaways, tweeted the news of his second ranking on June 11. The only video that ranks higher is The Guardian’s Will Smith and Chris Rock Oscars slap snafu video , which had 50 million views in its first day last year. MrBeast actually bumped his own video out of second place: Prior to the yacht video, his video recreation of the popular Netflix series Squid Game held the second position. His latest video beat the Squid Game one, which currently has 438 million views and is his most viewed video, by 5 million views within the 24-hour timeframe.

The 15-minute video features MrBeast showcasing seven different boats, ranging from $1 (which sinks within the first few minutes of the video); to a $300 million boat that contains luxurious furniture, a movie theater, and helipad landing onboard; to a $1 billion cruise liner that holds “a floating city.” Viewers witness MrBeast peruse the exclusive sites alongside a handful of his crew members, and toward the end of the video with a handful of lucky subscribers.

If you’re new to the world of MrBeast, it might not immediately compute why a video about yachts would be such an immediate hit on the platform.

“What Jimmy has done here is take a luxury lifestyle item like a yacht or a cruise, something that the average American has aspirations for, and he’s able to contextualize them in a very fun and silly way,” says Jack Appleby, the creator of Future Social , a newsletter teaching social strategy to over 45,000 marketers.

You don’t get nearly 50 million views within 24 hours by chance. This video was so successful, Appleby tells TIME, because of the strong digital strategy of the YouTuber, who uploaded his first video as a tween in 2012 and became widely popular in 2017. “This is a guy who has meticulously studied YouTube content for a decade now and understands what we want to see.” Like the rest of MrBeast’s successful videos, this one includes helpful YouTube video elements: an eye-grabbing thumbnail, a catchy title, helpful subtitles, as well as graphics, video hooks, and transitions that keep viewers engaged. Appleby believes this video’s billion-dollar boat price tag and surprise celebrity appearances make it “way over the top compared to his other videos.”

And he isn’t simply showcasing the luxury items, like other successful formats have done (see, for example, mega YouTuber Casey Neistat , whose most viewed YouTube videos features him vlogging his experience on the world’s most expensive plane rides). In fact, it isn’t until the last three minutes of the video that he tours the billion-dollar yacht, after the majority of the video has been spent on showing cheaper boats and random anecdotes with his friends as they explore all the boats have to offer. “He uses constant tactics to keep you engaged,” says Appleby. “In this video, he used screen watermarks that remind you which boat you’re looking at and what you have to look forward to in the video.”

Another significant element of the new video are the cameos. MrBeast doesn’t often have celebrities in his videos, and despite not advertising them in the video thumbnail or title, the inclusion of Davidson and Brady as surprise guests works to broaden his reach to the sports and comedy fandoms. “I think it’s the nicest boat in the world,” said Brady in the video of the $300 million offering. Brady also says in the video that his children won’t stop eating MrBeast’s chocolate line Feastibles , serving as an endorsement of MrBeast’s other entrepreneurial efforts. His videos are largely successful with the children and teen demo groups .

It was clear even before his latest video that MrBeast is in a league of his own, with his biggest competition being himself. “The snowball effect is going to be larger and larger,” says Appleby of MrBeast’s future successes. “I think we’re at the beginning of how big this guy’s gonna be.”

The yacht has a living room, an office, a massage parlor, 2 dining rooms, and 7 bedrooms. While Chandler was getting his massage, Nolan found Feastables. After, a chef came with the yacht, but the boys wanted pizza. Jimmy told them that he ordered it by a helicopter drop off. After, Jimmy says when you pay $25,000,000 dollars, you get jet skis.

$50,000,000 [ ]

The yacht is 234 feet long, 4 stories high, can hold over 200 people, and comes with a 20 person crew. Jimmy invited Pete Davidson over. When you pay $50,000,000 dollars, you get a remote so you can call the crew at anytime. The remote also lowers the TV down and raises it up.

$300,000,000 [ ]

The yacht has over 50 crew members waiting on your every request. 49 rooms, and 9 master bedrooms. The crew member said that the yacht is the 69th largest yacht in the world. There are 6 floors, a massive pool, and a hot tub with a view. The yacht comes with a gym that overlooks the ocean. A movie theater with windows the auto-darken whenever you watch something. Then, a dining table worth $3,000,000 dollars. And a piano that plays by itself. There was a haircut area, and a sauna. Downstairs, there are 7 jet skis. Behind the door is an exit to the ocean. On another floor, there was an even bigger helicopter pad.

$1,000,000,000 [ ]

The yacht is 4x bigger than the $300,000,000 yacht. Is also bigger than 3 Statues of Liberty, It is a floating city that is 1,200 feet wide, and 17 stories high. It can fit ALMOST 10,000 people. The yacht has over 2000 rooms. It has water slides, an indoor mall, a basketball court, and tons of other stuff. There was a sports floor, including mini golf. Then, there is a carousel, restaurants, shops, arcades, and Starbucks. There is also an entire floor for indoor shows and events. Jimmy then invited 400 random subscribers on the big yacht. Inside the mall, there is a bar that comes down from the ceiling. There also is a bionic bar. Nolan announced that the subscribers can stay there for 3 days.

GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: MrBeast is widely recognized for his extravagant stunts and generous giveaways, but his latest video has crossed the line into excessive territory. The video, "$1 vs $1,000,000,000 Yacht!" opens with the director meeting a man whose internet advertisement for a $1 yacht had gone viral.

The yacht's owner stated that he only wanted to get rid of it because it cost approximately $20,000 to store it. When the boat capsized on its very first voyage on the sea, MrBeast and the crew quickly discovered why. 'I don't know if this was worth even a dollar'

As soon as MrBeast got on his recently acquired boat, he saw why the owner was so eager to sell it. He said, “And after stepping on board, it was pretty clear why this yacht only costs $1.” The designer observed that the boat was not even worth its pitiful price tag when the water began leaking through the lower floors. He added, “I don't think the floor is supposed to do that...I don't know if this was worth even a dollar.”

The creator jokingly screamed at the steadily sinking boat, and when everyone leapt off, MrBeast and his buddies began swimming back to shore, “My baby..I paid a whole dollar for that.” Since the purpose of the film was to highlight how magnificent yachts get as their price increases, it also included MrBeast demonstrating the interiors of six additional boats with prices ranging from $1,000,000 to a staggering $1,000,000,000.

Tom Brady teases NFL return

The retired NFL legend had still another Easter Egg despite making it obvious what he thought of a potential comeback to the league in 2023 and saying that he would be more than happy to avoid taking hits from players like Aaron Donald in retirement. "Maybe I should come out of retirement," Brady said in MrBeast's video. A drone was following the yacht that MrBeast had. Brady's Spider-Senses also tingled when he noticed the drone.

The quarterback who has since retired claimed that if he succeeds in hitting the target on the first attempt, he might think about coming out of retirement for this one time only. Despite the doubts of his daughter Vivian, he naturally succeeded on the first attempt. Brady had to declare his retirement in the most appropriate manner imaginable, of course, and aboard a yacht. Talking about the yacht Brady said, "I think it's the nicest boat in the world."

Although he made that statement before the MrBeast video, the seven-time Super Bowl winner seemed to not be considering returning to the NFL. However, should the transaction be officially approved by the other NFL owners, his ownership of a good little chunk of the Las Vegas Raiders would make any comeback to the league more difficult.

Regarding the other NFL owners, even if Brady just owns a little part in the team, 24 of them would need to agree for him to return to the league. The issue of pay and contractual commitments is also present. The figures are hazy, but Brady would count as an addition to the roster, one that included players like Davante Adams and others. In terms of his ownership, ESPN claimed that he is anticipated to have a "passive" role, meaning that he won't have complete control over the franchise's financial or football decisions.

And it is of no surprise this $1 yacht disappointed them. After they have stepped on the board it was clear why this yacht cost $1, they started sinking. As soon as the boat was put in the water it started filling in with water. So they were trying to go up and at least they jump from the boat and leave it while saying this should not be worth $1.

They next stepped into the $1 million yacht. Later in this video, there were $50 million, $300 million, and $1 billion yachts. So hold on, we are bringing everything. The $1 million yacht was a little smaller than they thought. As they entered the $1 million boat they have seen a surprisingly big living room, a master bedroom, and another bedroom where they can not stand up properly because their head was touching the ceiling and there was a double bed for the kids. These rooms in a $1 million yacht were not very luxurious. Now they call a rescue boat and they are going to the $10 million boat.

Back to the story. Now they are in the $10 million yacht. let’s check this out. This is a Holy Crap. The front of the boat is huge and this is way bigger than the last one. So they decided to go into the yacht. For $9 million more they now can actually stand up. There are 4 massive bedrooms in this yacht. Upstairs is another huge sitting area and seats are quite soft compared to the $1 million yacht. It is the nicest one they have seen so far.

The next one is massive. It is worth $25 million dollar and has the capacity to hold 150 people. This boat is a mansion. They were walking around and asking each other where it stops. In the end, they have seen a bedroom and this is the nicest one they have seen so far. It’s nice because their head does not hit the ceiling and they can bearly touch it now. This yacht has a living room, an office, a massage parlor, seven bedrooms, and two dining rooms. This is the best yacht they have seen so far. It’s amazing. One of their friends is now in the massage parlor. In the meantime, others have found chocolate and they were enjoying chocolaty bites. This is a $25 million boat with 30 rooms in it. Even though the yacht came with a world-class chef, the boys still need pizza. And here you go. World-class luxury is here. Surprisingly a helicopter landed on the moving boat now. This is an Uber helicopter. Uber conventionally does helicopter deliveries. Now pizza is in their hands. They jumped from a $25 million yacht and someone throw pizza towards Mac (One of MrBeast’s friends). He was swimming in the water and caught the pizza. If this $25 million yacht makes you crazy take a tour of their next yacht episode which is a $50 million yacht.

This $50 million yacht is 200 feet long, four stories high and it has the capacity to hold 200 people. It also comes with a crew of 20 people. When you pay $50 million you are given a remote that can call the crew at any time. They have seen a TV can go up and down by pressing a remote button. This one is also huge and they are roaming around the boat. After having a 5-star dinner, the next morning they went for a $300 million yacht.

This $300 million yacht has over 50 crew members waiting on your every request. There are tons of luxurious rooms and over 9 master bedrooms. This one has 6 floors and comes with a massive pool and a hot tub with a view. It is ridiculously nice. It comes with a state-of-the-art gym that overlooks the ocean. It has a movie theater with a window that is auto darken whenever you watch something. It has a Piano that plays itself. All boys disappeared into Spa. Someone was in the haircut. Someone is taking a hot bath. They have discovered there were more downstairs and they have found jet skis over there. They have a wonderful dinner and after that, they found a boat pulling up. On the boat, Tom Brady was there. For those who don’t know Tom Brady, he is the number-one quarterback in NFL history. They played some football with Tom Brady and Tom hit the drone of MrBeast out of the sky. After a lot of fun and a hangout in the movie room for the night, they will now go for the billion-dollar boat.

The $1 billion boat is bigger than the 3 Statues of Liberty. You can’t imagine how massive the ship is. It is 17 stories high, 1200 feet wide floating city. Its capacity is almost 10000 people. This ship has over 2000 rooms. It has water slides, an indoor mall, a basketball court, and tons of other stuff that you can’t name. A water park up there and literally have live music in this park. There is in fact an entire floor dedicated to sports. There are indeed 7 neighborhoods on the ship. This is completely a different world. It has shops, restaurants, arcades, and even Starbucks.
