SAMAR Yacht – Luminous $100M Superyacht

SAMAR yacht was a marvel at the time of her build. The 77m luxury yacht has many amenities that make her the ultimate experience of luxury and opulence on the sea.

She had renowned designers work on her to bring her to completion, and she continues to be a luxurious yachting experience.

SAMAR yacht interior

The interior of the SAMAR yacht is the definition of luxurious with its spacious internal layout. Joe Thome designed the interior. There is accommodation for 12 guests in 7 staterooms and 26 crew members.

The owner’s stateroom is on the main deck, with 2 VIP cabins on the lower deck, two double cabins on the lower deck, and one small one on the bridge deck.

The interior features a spacious saloon and dining room with 3m high windows. There is a covered deck bar and dining area, a helipad, a side garage, a movie theatre, a fill-fitted gym, a steam room, and both hot and cold pools on the upper deck.

The helipad is designed to hold a Bell 407 helicopter and has refueling facilities. The garage is filled with toys like jet skis, wave runners, diving equipment, water skis, snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, and a MINI Cooper Cabriolet.

The wet dock on the aft is designed for a 33’ CrisCraft ridged gulled tender and the four tenders on board.

The exterior of the SAMAR yacht is designed by H2 Yacht Design and Nick Meyers, two hugely respected names in the yacht building industry.

Laurent Giles designed the naval architecture, and the build was executed by Devonport Yachts of England in 2006.

At the time of her build, the SAMAR was the largest ship to ever be built in England. The hull is steel, and the superstructure is aluminum.

Specifications

The 77m has a gross tonnage of 2150 GT, which is the largest to ever be built in the UK to date.

The SAMAR yacht has a beam of 13.11m and a draft of 4m. She has a range of 6,000 nautical miles with cold storage provisions for 44 people.

Her 3 Wärtsilä diesel engines provide a cruising speed of 12kn and a top speed of 16.5kn. She is in the top 5% LOA of all boats in the world, with a running cost of $5-$10 million and a value of $100 million.

A General Description of Motor Yacht SAMAR

This motor yacht SAMAR is a 77 m 253 (ft) significant steel vessel which was produced from the keel up at Devonport and conceived by Devonport & Laurent Giles and H2 Yacht Design and Nick Meyers. Accommodating 14 passengers and 20 qualified crew, motor yacht SAMAR used to be Lana. The naval architecture office which delivered her design details with respect to the yacht is Devonport & Laurent Giles and H2 Yacht Design and Nick Meyers. Her interior designing was created by Joe Tohme.

She features large deck areas, a side garage, a large Spa Pool pool, an open bar, as well as a movie theater, a very spacious main saloon and dining room with huge windows and 3 meter high head height deck heads. She also has a guest elevator through all four deck levels and there are also two separate service lifts for the crew. A fully fitted gymn, steam room and both hot and cold pools on the upper deck are also notable.

The New Build & Yacht Design with respect to Luxury Yacht SAMAR

Devonport & Laurent Giles was the naval architect involved in the formal superyacht composition for SAMAR. Her interior design was realised by Joe Tohme. Devonport & Laurent Giles and H2 Yacht Design and Nick Meyers is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. the United Kingdom is the country that Devonport constructed their new build motor yacht in. After the formal launch in 2006 in Plymouth the boat was thereafter delivered on to the happy owner having completed sea trials. Her core hull was crafted from steel. The motor yacht superstructure component is fabricated extensively using aluminium. With a beam of 13 m or 42.65 ft SAMAR has sizeable room. A deep draught of 3.4m (11.15ft) determines the amount of ports she can enter, contingent on their specific characteristics.

Max/Min Speed & Engine Room On M/Y SAMAR:

Fitted with triple WARTSILA diesel-electric main engines, SAMAR is able to attain a maximum speed of 17 knots. For propulsion SAMAR has twin screw propellers. She also has an economical range of 6000 nautical miles when sailing at her cruising speed of 12.5 knots. Her total HP is 6156 HP and her total Kilowatts are 4592.

In October 2009 SAMAR traveled to Amsterdam, in Netherlands. This motor yacht also navigated the waters around Gemeente Amsterdam during the month of October 2009. A stunning 77-metre long superyacht has been spotted gliding along Malta’s shores. Hard to miss with its imposing appearance, the superyacht is owned by Kuwaiti billionaire, Kutayba Alghanim.

According to Forbes, Kutayba Alghanim is the chairman of Alghanim Industries, which was founded by his late father, Yusuf, in 1932.

The superyacht, which was built in 2006, is one of the largest to have ever been built in the UK, with a gross tonnage of 2159 tonnes and powered by engines that give it a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Samar reportedly costs around $100 million (€88 million) and includes an impressive pool, a gym, a cinema, several bar areas and 7 cabins that can accommodate 12 guests.

Inside, there is a fabulous feeling of volume and light coming through the many windows, particularly in the main saloon and dining areas. Samar features a displacement steel hull, aluminium superstructure and teak decks. She is powered by engines giving her a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

M/Y Samar arrived at Palumbo SY Malta mid-October 2020 where she had been docked from the 29 th January till 17 th March. One of the major jobs carried out had been the installation of sponsons to reduce the slamming noise when at anchor.

In addition to the installation, the Yard conducted a full 10 year Lloyd’s survey.

Thanks to the effort of the shipyard team, this luxury Superyacht now being enjoyed by her Owner.

Recherchen von Business Insider und der „Financial Times“ legen nahe, dass das Luxusschiff dem Finanzinvestor längst nicht mehr gehören könnte.

Während die 74-Meter-Yacht auf dem Markt ist, überschlagen sich bei Windhorsts deutschen Werften die Ereignisse – die Staatsanwaltschaft ermittelt gegen Verantwortliche der FSG-Nobiskrug.

Ein Landeplatz für Helikopter, Spa und Kinosaal, eine Master-Suite mit Jacuzzi: Die „Global“ ist eine Super-Yacht mit einigen Annehmlichkeiten. Als ihr Besitzer gilt der frühere Hertha-Investor Lars Windhorst. Doch nun bietet ein Makler das 74 Meter lange Luxusschiff zum Kauf an. Für 79 Millionen Euro wäre die „Global“ demnach zu haben. The new luxury yacht from Lexus that's powered by twin Volvo engines has more space for relaxation and activities in the extended outdoor areas

Ah, luxury yachts —constantly vying for attention like competitive siblings at a family reunion. Enter Lexus with their latest creation: the LY 680 yacht. It’s like the LY 650’s cooler, more sophisticated sibling who just got back from a gap year in the Mediterranean and now boasts an expanded flybridge and swimming platform.

The design of the LY 680 closely mirrors that of the LY 650, which is far from a drawback considering the latter’s reputation as one of the most aesthetically pleasing products in the Lexus lineup . The flybridge has been extended by a substantial 1,400 mm (55 inches), providing ample space for relaxation and activities, including a spacious lounge sofa and a barbecue grill.

Additionally, the swimming platform at the rear has been elongated by 700 mm (27.6 inches), allowing for easier watercraft parking and more room for ocean plunges.

After the redesign, the yacht’s length now stretches to 20.66 m (67 ft 9.4 inches), compared to its predecessor’s 19.94 m (65 ft 5 inches) footprint. The LY 680 is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS engines, available in a choice of two outputs: 1,050 hp or 1,350 hp for each unit, or up to 2,700 hp combined. Lexus boasts that the LY 680 delivers ‘stable maneuverability, excellent ride comfort, and quietness,’ all par for the course for vessels of this size.

The spacious and luxurious interior remains unchanged, featuring a kitchen and comfortable seating area on the main level. We can also see the master bedroom and another living room underneath. In total, there are three rooms and up to six beds available. According to Lexus, the luxury yacht should feel like a “hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease”.

The Lexus LY680 is exclusively available for order in Japan through the Toyota Marine sales offices and select dealers. Production will be handled by superyacht manufacturer Horizon Group in Asia, with the first deliveries anticipated in the spring of 2026. While Lexus has not disclosed pricing details, it’s anticipated to be in line with the previous model, which was listed at around $3.5 million before taxes and options

Interested parties can explore a 1/20 scale model of the LY 680 at the Japan International Boat Show in Yokohama. Depending on customer demand, Lexus may contemplate broadening the yacht’s availability to international markets.
