Head out over the waters of Honduras for a snorkel outing that's ideal for beginners and experienced snorkelers alike. It offers two separate, professionally-guided snorkel groups -- one for those who are new to snorkeling or require more assistance and one for confident snorkelers. Beginners don't feel rushed; long-time snorkelers can explore on their own and not feel held back by others.

Lifeguards drift in kayaks near both snorkel groups, offering support and assistance to anyone who feels tired or who wants to return to the boat during the tour.

After snorkeling, dig into a hot buffet lunch of rotisserie chicken with an open bar offering rum drinks or non-alcoholic soft drinks and water.

This memorable day out is ideal for families, couples, singles and groups of friends.

Minimum age is 6 years. Maximum weight is 300 lbs. Snorkel gear and snorkel vest use is included. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Guests will be divided into groups based on snorkeling and swimming abilities, and each group will be assigned to one of several guides. Your adventure begins at the cruise ship pier, where you’ll be met by your Captain and crew. After a scenic 30 minute bus transfer get ready to board your waiting 60 foot, modern, sailing catamaran. After a short safety briefing, you’ll set sail along the scenic coast of Roatan in stunning turquoise Caribbean waters. During your sail to the snorkeling point, you’ll be fitted with your snorkeling equipment and given safety instructions. There is plenty of room to stretch out on the forward sun deck and ample comfortable shaded seating. There’s also a bar serving soft drinks and purified water before snorkeling. After approximately one half hour, you’ll arrive at the snorkeling point.

Snorkeling here is about the best the Caribbean has to offer. Enter the crystal clear, warm water, via the center stair case. Get an up close view of beautiful living coral and a large variety of tropical reef fish. All levels of snorkeler's, novice, intermediate and advanced snorkeler's will enjoy this site. Your snorkel guides will direct you to the best areas and make sure you are comfortable. After all snorkeling is finished (approximately 60 minutes) you’re invited aboard to enjoy unlimited rum punch, rum drinks, fruit punch, soft drinks and a rotisserie roast chicken lunch with rice, pasta salad, cabbage salad and fresh fruit in season. Kick back and relax, listen to Caribbean music as you sail to the disembarkation point for your return transfer to your ship, approximately 30 minutes. One of the crew will accompany you back to the ship and be happy to answer any questions about Roatan & Honduras. Feel free to take home complimentary local Honduran currency as your souvenir and free digital photographs taken while onboard your tour.

Roatan snorkel cruise

This was an amazing trip, the water was warm and the crew was exceptional! They served an awesome lunch of jerk chicken, etc. that was truly delicious What a great little cruise. I only wish we could have put the main sail up so we could sail around the area a bit. Thanks

The crew was wonderful. Had a great time. The snorkeling was awesome. It was a cloudy sky and the water was murky but still got to see a lot.

We chose the Jolly Roger Catamaran Sailing and Snorkeling excursion from Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas as we wanted to snorkel the reef off Roatan, Honduras. The reason I gave a rating of three is a little complicated and directed to the owners of the fleet. When facing the back of the ‘Enterprise’ catamaran, there are three steps up to a platform next to the operator before going down three steps to the back seating area. The overhead “roof” or deck the operator stands on protrudes into the path that guests climbing those steps up will hit their head. I literally received a fairly bad gash on my head from hitting that deck which wasn’t a pleasant experience. If the sharp edge were padded, guests would not get hurt. Secondly, on the same side of the catamaran, but facing the front, the stainless steel railing is broken at the weld. As guests are waiting for fins and life jackets to be distributed, it's easy to lean up against that railing. As it is somewhat flexible, it will “pinch” your backside as you lean forward. These are two safety items that need attention. The third item is not a safety issue but one of giving your customers a better experience. Our total distance from the dock to the snorkeling area is only a mile or two and we are in the water for an hour or less. Because of the extra time available to groups coming off cruise ships, either give your customers a longer time snorkeling the reef, or travel to a second site which would allow guests to see more of the scenery around Roatan. Most of us have never been to Honduras and we could easily have seen more for a small amount of fuel. Lastly and most importantly the crew, lunch, drinks and snorkeling were GREAT and are deserving of a better rating than I could give at this time. I would recommend Jolly Roger to friends; just look carefully for any potential safety issues and avoid them.

EXCELLENT excursion! They were very professional, concerned about safety, sanitation, customer service and HAVING A GOOD TIME!! Differing skill levels were accommodated. Lunch was perfect!

Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age – 4 years. Maximum weight – 300 lbs. Minimum age to consume alcohol is 21 years. What to Bring: Beach towel and credit/debit card for purchases. A valid ID for drinking age verification. Guests will be divided into groups based on swimming/snorkeling ability. Depending on weather conditions you may be returned by catamaran or bus. While visiting Roatan, you will be on the Bay Islands National Marine Park, the largest protected marine area in Honduras. Please do not litter, and do not touch, disturb or buy souvenirs made from marine life. Your support makes all the difference; help conserve this marine protected area. And as time permits, please visit the Marine Park’s kiosk as you transit through the Mahogany Bay Cruise Terminal to learn more about this precious resource.
