About the Business

Ocean Gate Yacht Basin is a full service marina and boatyard that is located at the mouth of the Toms River. We are open all year around and our full service ship store and fuel dock are open seven days a week to conveniently serve our customers. Ocean Gate Yacht Basin was founded in 1958 by Kenneth & Marie Mease. Three generations of the Mease family together with our employees, continue to strive for personalized friendly service. Our knowledge continues to grow through continual education of both our employees and mechanics. Our 180 slips hold boats up to 45 ft and are available for winter and summer storage. The yacht basin has two 35 ton Travelifts for efficient hauling for boats of all sizes. For our customers with smaller boats, we have a fork lift for easy and convenient hauling and launching. Air conditioned restroom and shower facilities are also available for our customers. A boat ramp is located at the entrance of the marina for customers who store their boats on trailers …

Check Out The Seakeeper In Action At Ocean Gate

Ocean Gate Yacht Basin is excited to announce their first open house and in water demo for the Seakeeper 1 & 2. This will be a great opportunity for our customers and perspective buyers to experience the benefits of having a Seakeeper onboard.

Seakeeper installers and representatives will on hand from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 24 to answer any questions you might have. A full service marina and boatyard located at the mouth of the Toms River, Ocean Gate Yacht Basin is open year around with a full service ship store and fuel dock are open seven days a week.

At the October 24th open house and in water demo you can learn more about special winter incentives, get a chance at giveaways, and see first-hand the Seakeeper 1 installed on a 27-foot Contender and a Seakeeper 2 installed on a 32-foot Seavee.

Want to go sailing in one of the best spots along the shore in New Jersey?

Starting from Ocean Gate Yacht Basin in Bayville, NJ you can get on board one of our boats to sail Toms River, Barnegat Bay and well beyond!

The marina is located where the Toms River travels to meet the bay, providing a natural safe haven for sailing. You’ll be able to sail in a seashore atmosphere, anchor in a quiet harbor or even do a bit of crabbing to take a chance at catching your dinner for the evening. There are great “gunkholing” areas throughout the bay and rivers which are just perfect for an afternoon stop or great for overnight anchoring. When you’re done sailing, you can fish or even take a swim off the back of the boat. Going ashore for family fun on the boardwalk is even available in Seaside Heights. What a great way to create lifelong memories, have fun and get some relaxation!

If you’re looking for a dock and dine opportunity, you can head south to find a couple of options on the Forked River at the  Captain’s Inn  tiki bar or  Lattitudes  the restaurant at the Southwinds Marina. Just around the corner from the marina you can grab a mooring ball and catch the water taxi for a stop at  Martell’s Water’s Edge . Or head all the way to the beginning of the Toms River to grab a transient slip for a walk into town.

With steady wind all season long, our area is great for a sail at anytime. Drop anchor at Tice’s Shoal for a day time treat then make your way o land to walk across the beach to spend afteroon at the beach. Or spend a night in High Bar Harbor Yacht Club, watching “Old Barney” blink its nightly signal to mariners trying to navigate the inlet. These are just a couple of the special destinations to be found within a few hours sail.

From the marina there’s a sailing area of about 17 nautical miles north to Bay Head, NJ and sailable water stretching 12 nautical miles south to the entrance of the Inter-Coastal Waterway (ICW) channel that connects Barnegat Bay and Little Egg Harbor. Access to the Atlantic Ocean is about 10 nautical miles south when making your way through the Oyster Creek Channel towards Barnegat Inlet. From there, a sail to Atlantic City or even Cape May is possible. Making your way through the Manasquan Inlet gets you closer to the ocean so heading north takes you to Raritan Bay  then in to the ultra-exciting New York Harbor.
