Laraki Yacht Design pens modular 163m superyacht concept Prelude

Designer Abdeslam Laraki has penned the nine-deck 163m motor yacht concept Prelude, which uses a layout of dedicated modules for improved on board experiences.

‘I wanted to make a mega yacht without any constraints,’ says Laraki, of Laraki Yacht Design, who also designed the 126m Privilege One . The project is in-build at the Privilege yard in Italy and ranks as number eight in our top 20 new projects . ‘Everybody can have different experiences at the same time in the yacht. I wanted to make spaces so dedicated that it’s a different ambiance in every space, it’s a different experience every time.’

Laraki has achieved this ambition by creating a series of modules throughout the boat that are designed for different activities or atmospheres.

The Flying-module on the ninth deck consists of a glass covered lounge area with 360-degree views, a bar, pool tables and card play areas that lead to two large aft terraces.

Below, the Aqua module on the eighth deck has a wellness and water treatments pool, plus a pool for play and fun into which guests can arrive via two water slides from the roof of the deck above. This space also contains a tropical garden and an automated sushi bar for 20 guests.

The seventh deck offers a large lounge and entertainment area, with sunbeds, sofas, a fountain, flat screens and bars. The sixth deck, the Owner-module is exclusively dedicated to the owner. Here there is a large pool terrace looking forward, along with two large side terraces. Aft in the module is a large circular living area and a dining area.

Forward on the fourth deck the Beach-pool-module includes a helipad, a large pool, spa pool, a variety of seating areas, sunbeds and two bars, one on each side of the pool. The forth deck is also where six 160 square metre guest suites are also located on this deck located. Prelude will sleep more than 36 guests.
