Pure nasty place where previous guests have to clean for a next one!!!! No guest bathroom near pool. Pool are not working.

The Yachtsman Condo and Timeshare is a dated hotel/condo resort. It was very clean in the rooms and out side in all areas. The staff was friendly and accommodating at all times. If you are on a budget this is the place for you and your family. It has all oceanfront rooms. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. I was very pleased with a the room. Everything was in working order: appliances, ac, water, tvs, and lamps. It was very clean inside the room. It was also a very quiet room with minimal outside noises. It appears to be well insulated for sounds. We stayed in the South tower. They have two towers. Both look to be identical. Pools were clean and so were hot tubs. You get towels to use poolside. You can use either tower's pool. They have a grilling area poolside. If you are planning a stay, I would suggest asking for a higher level room as the lower levels view can be blocked by Pier14 Restaurant. Location is the best. This hotel is in the middle of all things going on in the boardwalk area of Myrtle Beach. The boardwalk starts close to this hotel. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Parking is across the street but had no problem parking our two vehicles. Our stay here was a very positive one. We will probably book here again. The only downside to this location is there is no inside pool and no lazy river. There is also no entertainment poolside or tiki bar. We came late in the season so that could have been why. And there are no full size balcony decks. Its only a guard rail.

If it was possible to rate this place in the negatives I would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Our room was disgusting and dirty when we got there with crumbs everywhere including the bed. The room smelled horrid and it was extremely uncomfortable to stay the night. They false advertised the room saying it was 2 rooms but it was in fact a closet with a bed in it. We cut our trip short bc we couldn't stay our full trip in that room. Whatever you do, do not stay here better luck staying in a motel 6. This place is vile whatever you do don't stay here please.

We first came to the Yachtsman over 30 years ago when we eloped. We have come back every few years to celebrate our anniversary. Yes it is old and yes it needs a lot of updating. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, but the shower does not have a good shower head... not good water pressure, and it takes FOREVER for the water to heat up. The couch is very old and was NOT comfortable to sit in... can't imagine trying to sleep on the pull out bed. However- our bed was very comfy!! We slept on it nicely! I was also thrilled to see sliding glass doors in both the living area and the bedroom. I love to hear the waves!! The rooms all face the ocean- there is not really a balcony but you can certainly stand at the door and see the ocean. Some of the paint is peeling, the closet door slid out of its track a lot... and we were very warm the first night. We let the front desk know and they sent maintenance up (after a couple of hours) to basically flip a switch and change the air to A/C. All in all, we felt safe, and the room seemed clean. But the whole place could really use some updating and painting.

I do not think this place deserves the low stars here. This is not claiming to be a nice resort. It is cheap, it is clean and it is oceanfront. What more can you want? The parking area was very close, there are a few pools, a hot tub, great restaurants in front and beside it and is in the middle of the Grand Strand. I didn't give 5 stars because there was no fitness center (they had a reading room instead- which was weird). The other thing was that the balcony was literally 8 inches. It was not a balcony but a place for a foot. It was funny. I would happily stay here again. The prices were SO reasonable! If you are going to Myrtle to want a great "resort" this is not your place, but you also will pay for that. Staff were decent and I loved hearing the live music from the pool and beach out front. Remember, I am reviewing the hotel- not the Grand Strand. The Grand Strand is scary as hell and I would prefer to stay anywhere but there but if that is all you can afford for oceanfront so be it.

Great location , close to everything. Room is not what you will get if looking at online photo . They are older place and they need to be updated and deep cleaned . If you can look past that then it a good place to stay for location to everything.

I wish I could give this place a full 0. It was literally the worst hotel stay I have ever had. They are lucky it takes into account location which was actually decent right on the boardwalk and beach. The room stank, slept in my clothes cuz I was too scared to get into tubs or bed. Wasn't at the pool area 15 minutes before my stuff went missing. There are no cameras at the pools. Miraculously 2 days later my stuff supposedly was turned in the same night. But I had no phone call to my cell or my room or the police where I filed a police report. This makes 0 sense. I only received notification due to filing for a refund from airbnb. How the heck was I ever supposed to get notified that my belongings were there. I wouldn't pay a penny to stay here again. The hot tub was a cold plunge if I ever heard of such. It was disgusting. Staff unprofessional. Paying a chunky security guard to do nothing but can't afford a low budget security camera. I'm grateful to be alive because I did not feel safe here at all. 1000000/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Our ceiling has been dripping since the first night we've been here, it has gotten worse over the past few days, so bad we have to put pots down to catch the water bc the water was soaked and it's moving to our bedroom through the carpets and got our clothing wet. the front desk is rude, our hotel is flooding but no other rooms were available, and the dishes in the cabinets were not clean, DONT waste your money here

Great location older hotel small bed in the one bedroom, room not updated at all. House keeping tells me on the last day I need to be checked out by 10:00 and she needs to Clean the room which I was very much aware of but it's 920 I have 40 mins. Even though we had a great weekend this was my first and last time here.

Where do I start this "resort" is old ass hell the couch is disgusting probably got all types of things living in it. I wouldn't recommend this place to no one. I highly recommend that they upgrade all the hotels on that strip. Myrtle Beach is out dated with all that money they get they give the ppl nothing. We as humans have to demand that these places give us nice things, we pay all this money and they give us shit in return...
