ACCOMMODATIONS

Swan 105 SELENA was commissioned by an experienced owner who sought a modern performance cruiser utilizing the very latest technology while maintaining a high level of comfort and the ability to sail with minimal crew. Nautor Swan was chosen as the builder and the design is a unique collaboration of Frers Naval Architecture and Beiderbeck Design. Drawing on a long and successful experience, Frers developed a hull form and sail plan that allowed for excellent performance and sea keeping abilities while Beiderbeck implemented their forward-thinking expertise to create an innovative arrangement that maximizes volume and comfort on deck and throughout the interior.

Combining the very best materials and craftsmanship, Nautor Swan constructed the hull in carbon/E-glass SPRINT composite and the interior is mainly finished in satin mahogany. The carbon mast and furling boom were supplied by Southern Spars and 3Di sails from North Sails. All systems have been supplied by the leading manufacturers. 

SELENA features a bright and spacious cockpit area with mahogany finished seating and dining area adjacent to the twin helm positions. A fixed carbon cockpit bimini provides protection from the elements with retractable sun shade, removable side curtains and a forward glass panel, able to slide continuously from closed to completely open, while the integrated mainsheet point allows a walkthrough cockpit arrangement. Under sail, the yacht can be managed by a small crew and maneuvers are facilitated by a complete push-button sail and rigging controls.

When stepping below from the cockpit, the luminous and open-plan atmosphere continues with a large interior saloon offering panoramic views surrounding the seating and dining areas. Moving aft, two guest cabins with ensuite head and shower plus a full beam master cabin with queen sized bed, sofa and ample storage and locker space. While at anchor, the transom door opens to create a private swimming platform with seating area, accessed directly through a sliding glass door from the master cabin.

Forward of the deck saloon is the fourth guest cabin with ensuite head and shower, this cabin can be configured to a captain’s cabin. A fully equipped galley with large fridge & freezer capacity and further forward is the spacious crew area with crew mess and one large crew cabin with upper/lower beds to port- and starboard side. This cabin can be configured in two crew cabins by means of a partition wall, both with ensuite head and shower.

MASTER SUITE:

The master suite is located aft and offers a luxurious and comfortable space for relaxation. It features a queen-sized berth and settee outboard on starboard side with drawers and storage lockers forward. Direct access to aft bathing platform via sliding door. The ensuite is located forward and features washbasin with marble surface, freshwater WC, mirrors, storage lockers and large shower compartment.

GUEST STATEROOMS:

The Aft Starboard Cabin (VIP) is a cabin located towards the back of a boat or ship on the starboard side. It features a double berth bed located on the outer side of the cabin, providing a comfortable sleeping space for one or two people. The cabin also includes an ensuite head (bathroom) and shower, allowing for privacy and convenience.

The Aft Port Cabin offers twin berths that are both inboard and outboard, providing a cozy and comfortable sleeping arrangement for guests. It also includes an ensuite head and shower for added convenience and privacy.

The Guest Cabin forward of the saloon offers flexibility for its use. It can be converted into a fourth guest cabin or used as a captain's cabin. The cabin features an ensuite head and shower.

The first sailing yacht Swan 105 RS left Nautor ’s yard in Finland’s Pietarsaari a couple of weeks ago. The all-new semi-custom superyacht Swan 105 RS mixes up aspects of pure Swan as designed by naval architect German Frers , with an innovative interior as well as overall concept by Beiderbeck Design . Below are the photos of the striking Swan 105 RS, set to make her debut at next week’s Monaco Yacht Show .

In co-operation with the Finnish shipyard Nautor, beiderbeck designs have translated the wish list of a German owner into a stunning super yacht – the Swan 105-RS – cmbining a splendorous home with highest comfort, utmost functionality and cutting edge design. The company from Bremen was responsible for the overall concept including interior design, layout and the complete superstructure while German Frers delivered the naval architecture as is common for Swan yachts. Finnish yacht builder nautor's swan  delivered the beiderbeck designed (naval architecture by german frers ) 32m sailing yacht child of lir (ex ti-coyo) in september 2014..

The most exciting feature is the owner suite at the stern. The original experienced owner waived a stern garage for the tender to have space for a suite with big glass sliding doors and direct access to the sea. The view must be currently unique on a sailing yacht. The main tender is stored in a bay on the foredeck. A second 4m tender can be stored between the glass door and transom door.

The superstructure has a raised saloon (RS) and a clean deck layout. The raised saloon with fully operative helm station gives an elegant and sporty profile combined with a panoramic view over the sea.

CHILD OF LIR is performance-oriented with best comfort and luxury. The hull and superstructure are constructed of carbon fiber. The experienced owner wanted a very functionally and safety yacht to cruise with a small crew. Because Nautor’s Swan equipped her with a furling mainsail and furling a self-tacking jib, she can be easily handled with a small crew.

When the owner wants privacy in the main cockpit aft, the crew can navigate in a small cockpit in front of the mast. There is also a separate companionway to the crew area.  The central cockpit is spacious and has a fixed bimini with a foldable top. The twin helm station has comfortable seating.

CHILD OF LIR  accommodates up to five guests including owner and a crew up to four people. Also, the crew section is luxuriously designed in the same style as the remaining interior.

The yacht was listed for sale with an asking price of € 9.700,000 (as TI-COYO). When she was for sale under the new name CHILD OF LIR, the price was 8,500,000 EUR.

Get Ready For The Iconic Swan Boats 2024 Opening Day

T he City of Boston along with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department have  revealed  that the iconic Swan Boats are opening for their 147th season on Saturday, April 13th at 10 am. This family-owned and operated tradition which dates back to  1877 , began when Robert Paget, an Irish immigrant and shipbuilder,  was  granted a license by the City of Boston to operate a boat for hire. "Rowing a small boat in the Public Garden lagoon was a favorite summer pastime for city residents during the day and evening," says the Swan Boats on their  website .

Today, the tradition continues under the management of Lyn and Phil, both fourth-generation members of the Paget family. "They are the only boats of their type in the world and are an important symbol of the wonderful City of Boston," the Swan Boats proudly  explains .

‘Fancy cars and flashy yachts’: criminals living the high life targeted by Victoria’s unexplained wealth laws

Police minister says those who ‘swan around with ill-gotten gains’ will be pursued in reforms that flip onus of proof

Organised crime figures who splash out on yachts, penthouse suites and sex workers will be targeted by the Victorian government, under new laws that will force them to repay any wealth they cannot prove was lawfully acquired.

The state’s attorney general, Jaclyn Symes, and police minister, Anthony Carbines, on Tuesday announced they will introduce the Confiscation Amendment (Unexplained Wealth) Bill to parliament, in an effort to deprive criminals of the “use and enjoyment of their unexplained wealth”.

Symes said the new laws would flip the onus from police and prosecutors – who currently have to prove a direct link between a criminal and their wealth – to the offender.

“The barrier has been is that we’ve had to demonstrate that [wealth] is connected to criminal activity. The onus now will be flipped under this legislation, you will have to demonstrate that you obtained it by legal means,” she said.

“It’s very likely unless they won Tattslotto and they can show their winning ticket. They probably were doing illegal activities to obtain their wealth.”

Carbines said the changes will also capture assets bought in a partner or relative’s name as well as gifts, “consumable wealth and wealth that has been gifted, disposed of or expended”.

“If you want to swan around with ill-gotten gains and wealth that doesn’t belong to you, that you’ve accrued illegally, police will be able to pursue you. They’ll be able to pursue your family and your partners,” he said.

“If organised crime bosses think that they can have the fancy cars, flashy yachts, spend their money on hotels and strippers, if you draw your attention to yourself, Victoria police will be after you.

“They will be able to use these laws to crack out and reclaim the stolen wealth that ill gotten gains, and it’s about continuing to make sure we put the pressure on organised crime.”

The new laws will allow the Director of Public Prosecutions to apply to a court for an order if there are reasonable grounds to suspect that a person’s total wealth exceeds their lawfully acquired wealth by at least $200,000.

If a person can’t satisfy a court that they have lawfully obtained their wealth, a court may order them to pay the state the value of anything they cannot prove was lawfully acquired.

The laws have been modelled on those currently in place in Western Australian, but are also similar to New South Wales’ laws, which were also bolstered in 2023 to allow police to seize and freeze wealth and assets without a specific offence.

The opposition leader, John Pesutto, questioned why it had taken so long for the government to introduce the legislation, though he said he supported the concept in principal.

“Frankly, after 10 years, you have to ask, what is it actually doing to crack down on organised crime?” he said.
