Luxury on the water – and who says a 50-footer can’t turn?

With its precision handling and acres of luxury interior, the Princess 54 must be the most accommodating boat in its class and price range.

From the galley looking aft, you could easily mistake this for a 60ft craft. Two separate seating areas stagger the saloon, the forward dinette doing a great cameo as an exciting vantage point underway.

To port a long run of cabinetry contains a fridge, bar area, entertainment centre and stowage. The champagne moment, though, is the 26in flat screen that rises up at the touch of a button. Great stuff.

In terms of accommodation the extra four foot packs a lot in. The full beam master cabin is the major draw with impressive details, like the fixed shelf that turns into a pull out dressing table, and quality finishes creating a sophisticated look.

There are two excellent guest cabins, the VIP suite and a twin bunk side cabin that comes with full headroom right the way through.

Out on the water, the Princess 54 continues to impress. This boat is a joy to steer. But while agility can sometimes mean a certain skittishness, the Princess carves a serious line through the water, its weight, hull length and seemingly perfect rudder setup working the magic.

That allows this boat to deliver a genuinely rewarding experience from the helm, while still retaining that long-legged cruising style that a boat like this is born for.

Stepping on board, one is immediately enamoured with the 360 views from the salon which brings the beauty of the outdoors into the boat. This open feeling is available throughout, with comfortable seating on the flybridge, a foredeck sunbathing area, and an aft deck settee, giving guests ample space to be alone or socialize. The owner liked this boat so much that he has purchased the next size up and is now ready to sell. This carefully maintained boat has seen regular upgrades and system maintenance, making it a perfect candidate for turn key ownership.

AQUAVITA HIGHLIGHTS

Cockpit & swim deck.

The cockpit and swim deck are wonderfully integrated into the main saloon by a large triple sliding door which gives the feeling of openness to the interior and creates a larger space for entertaining. The swim deck is complete with hideaway hydraulic davit for the tender and has ample space for climbing in and out of the water. The well-thought out exterior adds loads of extra living space and comfort.

The Fly bridge is equipped with a fully integrated navigation system and steering controls, making it an optimal space for fairweather cruising as well as social functions. Enjoy cocktails and conversation with a birds eye view of your surroundings, eat a meal, or lounge and read a book on the comfortable daybed. The flybridge is situated so you never have to leave, complete with a fridge for drinks and a space to grill.

SALON & HELM STATION

Impressive wrap around views greet you upon entering the main salon. To starboard is comfortable u-shaped settee and to port a bar area complete with glass cabinet, fridge, and ice maker. There is also a retractable TV that lowers into the bar when not in use. Two steps up from the salon is the well situated helm with two comfortable captain’s chairs. The dinette adjacent to the helm is a great place to eat or spread out and do work.

A companionway leads below to a well-lit galley which has a stand up fridge, electric cooktop, microwave, and ample storage space. Beautiful black avonite countertops juxtapose the cherry cabinets and grant plenty of space for cooking and meal preparation.

MASTER CABIN

Aft of the galley are steps which lead down into a full-beam master stateroom. There is a walk-around queen and six large port lights in the hull side. Two of these can open for ventilation. A side table to port has a nicely incorporated mirror and a completely private head sits on the starboard side.

GUEST CABIN

Forward is a large guest cabin with ample storage space and a centerline queen berth. There is a large round overhead hatch that lets in light and ventilation. This cabin has a private entrance to the forward head. On first inspection one might consider this the master cabin, both spacious and comfortable.

Twin Volvos provide ample power for cruising and great acceleration. At 1500 RPMs the boat makes 18.2 knots with ease and cruises at 24 knots.

Additional Guest/Crew Cabin

On some of the Princess 54’s, the crew cabin is under the aft deck lounge area. Aquavita uses this area as a large lazarette for storage of water toys and gear. The crew cabin with two twin berths is located starboard aft midship with access to the galley. This cabin has storage under the berths and is nicely situated with a flat screen TV and very comfortable.
