Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

preview for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 trailer (Bravo)

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured natasha de bourg photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daisy kelliher photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured alli dore photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured jean luc cerza lanaux photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

Nz yachtie katie flood on life below deck: ‘the hardest i’ve ever worked’.

Below Deck is watched by millions of viewers around the world, and this season there’s a New Zealand accent on board. Tara Ward talks to Katie Flood about being all at sea.

At first, Katie Flood didn’t think much of Below Deck, the reality show that made her famous.

“I’m very open about the fact I used to take the piss out of it, like “this isn’t yachting”,” she says of the Bravo reality franchise that captures the upstairs/downstairs world of superyachts. She’d only seen the occasional episode from an early season, and wasn’t keen to get on board a show that looked “a bit rough around the edges”.

Katie Flood

But after seven years of working in the yachting industry, Bravo caught the New Zealander at a weak moment.

“For four years I had a casting agent message me, and I was like, no, no, no. Then on the day I walked off my boat last year, I got another message, and I was just like, screw it, why not? It was a global pandemic, the world was going tits up, and I was like, let’s just see where this goes.”

That curiosity saw Flood become chief stew in season six of Below Deck: Mediterranean (a Below Deck spinoff based in Croatia; there’s also Below Deck: Sailing and the upcoming Below Deck: Down Under). For several weeks, Flood’s every move aboard the Lady Michelle superyacht was captured on camera as she kept the boat’s interior running smoothly. In the season currently screening on Bravo and ThreeNow , we’ve watched Flood work hard and play hard in a high pressure world where the tips are good, but breaks are rare and days off even rarer.

And now? “It turns out Below Deck was actually one of the best things I’ve ever done.”

below deck sailing yacht season 2 nz

Below Deck is the hugely addictive reality show that pulls back the curtain on life in the luxury world of yachting. We all aspire to be part of the 1% who can afford these lavish vacations, yet on Below Deck, you find yourself backing the underdog: the crew. There’s a delicious delight in watching rich people prove that money doesn’t buy class, while the crew are the ones putting in 16 hour days to ensure every surface is free of fingerprints and the champagne is always flowing.

Whangarei-born Flood reckons it’s these insights into the realities of the industry that makes Below Deck so popular. “The minute I tell somebody that I work on a superyacht, they’re fascinated, grilling me with like 101 questions,” she says. Add a bunch of strangers living and working together, some high maintenance guests and beautiful scenery, and you have all the ingredients for gripping reality TV. “We’re under so much pressure that we do lose our shit, we do break down, we do have fights, there are crew romances,” Flood says. “It’s just a lot going on in one very small space.”

below deck sailing yacht season 2 nz

Flood’s season of Below Deck: Med filmed for six weeks, with each of the 18 episodes following the crew as they scramble to meet the demands of the charter guests. In past seasons, Below Deck guests have hooked up in the crow’s nest, threatened to bring in coloured gumballs on a helicopter, and demanded to watch an American football game while the boat was at sea. Flood’s season was no different.

“I don’t actually know how they choose the charter guests, but I can tell you they are a lot more wild on Below Deck than by normal yachting standards,” Flood says. That’s the whole point, she reckons. Wealthy billionaires who lounge around demanding nothing make for boring TV, but guests who call off their wedding the night before the ceremony or who make the most of the open bar always bring the drama.

below deck sailing yacht season 2 nz

That’s not the only difference to real-life yachting, and Flood now understands why she judged those early episodes of Below Deck so harshly. “Honestly, you don’t have time when you’re filming to run a boat to the highest standard like you normally would. It is physically impossible. It’s probably the hardest I’ve ever worked,” she says of life on Below Deck. “The job alone is already such a high intense environment. Then you add 50 other people running around the boat, camera crew, audio mixers, lighting, producers. It’s chaotic.”

Covid-19 added another layer of intensity to Flood’s season, which began filming in September 2020. Production hired a resort in Croatia where everyone – including guests – had to self-isolate for 10 days. “We had like one hundred people in our bubble,” Flood says, adding crew was tested for Covid-19 twice a week and guests had to have a negative test before stepping on board. “Actually, the last charter of Below Deck: Sailing, their guests ended up testing positive so they couldn’t film the last charter. It was just very strict and very cautious.”

below deck sailing yacht season 2 nz

While Flood was initially hesitant to appear on an international reality show, she says the public response has been better than she hoped. “You become very anxious because you hand over your life to these people behind a computer, but I’ve honestly been blown away,” Flood says. Her parents watch the show proudly in New Zealand, but online, Flood has experienced some backlash. “I’ve definitely received the hate mail and the criticism and everything that comes along with this sort of thing. But overall, it’s been actually super positive.”

Flood isn’t the only New Zealander to appear on Below Deck , but she’s proud to have flown the antipodean flag on such a huge reality franchise. “I get so many messages saying that I’ve represented New Zealand well, which is incredible to hear,” she says. Would she do it all again, knowing what she does now about reality TV? Absolutely, says Flood. “It was a pretty wild experience.”

Below Deck: Mediterranean screens on Bravo on Thursdays at 8.30pm and is streaming on Three Now.

As department heads undermine each other’s authority, arguments trickle down the chains of command as tension reaches an all-time high between the interior and exterior teams. With new safety protocols in place, the crew must stay on the yacht in between charters, blurring the lines professionally and personally, leading to a boat-load of nauti-yachties.

Screen Rant

Where is colin macrae from below deck sailing yacht season 4 from.

Colin MacRae has caught the eye of Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers with his cute accent and ability to fix almost anything on the yachting vessel.

  • Colin MacRae, fan-favorite engineer on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, hails from New Zealand and is proud to call himself a Kiwi.
  • Colin left his home country in 2018 to travel the world and found himself stranded in Panama due to pandemic-related border closures.
  • Colin has recently found himself in a dramatic love triangle on the show with Daisy and Gary, causing tension among the crew.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 has been a bit steamy thanks to engineer Colin MacRae, but where does he originally hail from? Colin, who's good friends with Gary King and Daisy Kelliher, has been a fan favorite on the series thanks to his quick thinking. For years, Colin has been in relationships, but recently he's been back on the market.

Colin was first introduced as the chief engineer by Captain Glenn Shepard during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. Unlike the other crew members, Colin steered clear of the ongoing drama and boatmances, often choosing to turn in to bed early after a crew night out. Colin always had a witty comment to make about Gary and enjoyed watching the shenanigans from the sidelines. However, this season Colin has found himself in the thick of some drama.

Colin MacRae From Below Deck Sailing Yachy Was Born In New Zealand

Colin was born and raised in New Zealand and is proud to call himself a Kiwi. While some may have thought he has an Australian accent, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht star hails from a suburb of Auckland. For years, Colin called Titirangi home. The community is set as a suburb of West Auckland in the Waitākere Ranges via RNZ . The town is affluent and easy to take trips to the big city.

Colin Moved To Panama But Travels The World

Colin left New Zealand behind in 2018 to travel to the Virgin Islands. During this time, the islands had been badly damaged by Hurricane Irma, so Colin and his buddies brought a yacht to fix up. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star happened upon the boat as he was helping clean up, but the boat sank. Even the insurance company called his venture a total write-off, but Colin made the vessel as good as new. Colin was about to sail home when the borders started closing due to the pandemic, leaving him stranded in Panama.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star is now stuck in the mix of a love triangle thanks to his feelings for Daisy . The two have gotten closer to one another, only for Gary to try and mess it up because of his jealousy. Colin is keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to love but is always open about his love for his homeland.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3: next episode, trailer, cast and everything we know

Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is underway and the only thing calm may be the water.

Chef Marcos cooking on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is here, and Captain Glenn Shephard is back to balancing the demands of vacationers with the drama of his crew. And let’s face it, in most instances, the baggage of his crew far outweighs the luggage of any guest.

This season takes the show to the waters surrounding Menorca, Spain. The breathtaking views only serve as momentary interruptions to the hookups, the confrontations, the injuries and the occasional emergencies of the new season. Given the interesting dynamic that already exists between returning crew members like Daisy Kelliher and Gary King, the addition of a new chef, new stews and new deckhands make sailing anything but smooth aboard the Parsifal III.

Here’s what we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

When is the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 episode?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premiered on Monday, February 21. New episodes continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo TV in the US. Episodes are available the next day in the UK on Hayu , which can be included as part of a Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Peacock via Sky TV or NOW TV also offers next-day streaming for Bravo content.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back with the first part of the season 3 reunion airing on Monday, June 27, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. After a tumultuous season full of drama and love triangles, it will be interesting to see what the cast has to say to one another when they face off.

By the way, have you read why fans are grossed out by Ashely's grilled cheese feast ?

What happens on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew having drinks

Viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 will recall that the last time the crew was together, first mate Gary King was involved in a messy love triangle with deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore. While fans of the show won’t have to worry about seeing King in a continuation of that love saga, based on the trailer, King will again find himself entangled in a romance. It appears he entangles with chief stew Daisy Kelliher of all people. While the two appeared to make amends at last year’s reunion after feuding all season 2, no one expected the two to be locking lips.

Additionally, it should be noted that Below Deck Sailing Yacht is done with love triangles, as Bravo TV teases this season fans can expect to see a “twisted love pentagon.” More may not turn out to be merrier in this case.

Fans of the show will also remember that Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew were involved in an accident during season 2 . Season 3 shows how Captain Shephard has been able to bounce back from the incident while also trying to avoid another potentially disastrous event.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 includes returning crew Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. These members are joined by chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, as well as deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

northern sun, below deck down under, superyacht

Inside the star yacht of Below Deck Down Under season two

Television network Bravo will begin airing season two of Below Deck Down Under on 17 July, a Below Deck spin-off which follows a yacht crew over an eight-week charter season in Australia. This instalment sees Captain Jason Chambers return at the helm, cruising guests around the warm, tropical waters and colourful cays of the near-uninhabited Whitsunday Islands. Making her debut down under is Northern Sun , a Japanese superyacht with an unexpected history. BOAT takes a look inside…

Delivered in 1976 under the name Hokko Maru (“Northern Light”), Northern Sun has lived a full and fascinating life. At 50.8 metres, she was the largest yacht built by Narasaki Shipbuilding at the time and worked as an ice-class research vessel, analysing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan Sea. The transformation from ship to superyacht came in 2006 when she underwent a two-year refit, courtesy of her new owners.

Northern Sun has the hardy constitution of an explorer, marking a departure from the first season’s white boat Keri Lee III .

When her current owners undertook renovations, they were intent to elevate her to superyacht standards while still maintaining her distinctive look. Her old windlasses are still visible on the forward deck, the master cabin has retained its original camber and even the engine room looks exactly as it did when she was a research ship. "Looks" being the operative word, of course – she’s had several system upgrades since the 70s.

Interiors include natural materials such as narra and makore wood (commonly known as cherry mahogany). This dark wood furniture and wall panelling give Northern Sun her warm, traditional feel, while the cabins themselves are dotted with the owners’ collection of travel paraphernalia. It makes for an eclectic living space, with indoor sofa seating accented by authentic Persian rugs and the formal dining room and master suite fixed with guild-frame, 19th century oil paintings. Keep an eye out for one of the owners’ most coveted pieces, a 100-year-old ship’s clock which still rings out the two-hour, maritime work shift also known as "the dog watch".

Northern Sun’s main deck is dedicated entirely to entertainment, from the al fresco dining area to the main saloon with its piano and games table. Other leisure highlights include gym equipment, a dedicated library on the lower deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads and lounge beds. The owners’ addition of a forward seating area during her refit allows for versatile recreation, whether the mood calls for cocktail parties or quiet, waterside contemplation.

The superyacht naturally has impressive stowing capacity, with space for scuba-diving equipment, a waterski and a two-deck-high inflatable water slide. There are also two Laser sailboats, enabling nimbler exploration along Australia’s shallow bays and coral reefs.

The owners spent ten years cruising through Southeast Asia after Northern Sun was refitted. Using the superyacht as a base for adventures, they've scuba-dived in the Andaman Sea, kayaked in the mangrove swamps of Phang Nga Bay and explored some of Indonesia’s most remote fishing islands. In 2015, they decided to put Northern Sun on the charter market, where she quickly became one of the most popular yachts available in Thailand. Now, she’s made her way across the seas to become the breakout star of Below Deck Down Under .

Captain Jason will be joined by returning chief stew Aesha Scott, working alongside a brand-new crew.

Northern Sun is currently listed with Ocean Independence , with a weekly charter starting from $161,700 and an asking price of $15,000,000.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' 's Gary Accuses Daisy of 'Spitefully Hooking Up' with Newly Single Colin in Season 4

"Everything is my fault. The guests aren't happy, it's my fault. I can't win. I'm constantly losing," Daisy Kelliher says in PEOPLE's exclusive trailer premiere for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4

below deck sailing yacht season 2 nz

Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's Daisy Kelliher and Colin MacRae are making waves in season 4!

PEOPLE can exclusively premiere the trailer for the Bravo show 's latest season as Parsifal III 's Chief Stew and Chief Engineer return to navigate the waters near Sardinia, Italy, alongside Captain Glenn Shephard, First Mate Gary King and fresh batch of yachties.

"I've been with Parsifal for 13 years," Captain Glenn says at the start of the preview. "She had a lot of problems, but she's never let me down."

That is, until the yacht starts heeling — hard .

Sailing Yacht has been known for clanging pots and sliding utensils in its galley over the years, but season 4's tilt-fest takes things to a new level, with falling crew members, portholes that look like they're in a whirlpool swirl and one guest exclaiming, "Who needs a roller coaster? Holy cow!"

Still, Captain Glenn remains optimistic: "It looks like we got a good group of people here. I'm looking forward to a really good season."

Beyond the technical troubles (including a dud engine echoing season 2's bow thruster debacle ), it would seem the choppier waters will come in the form of the crew's personal entanglements and partying ways.

Like every year, Gary returns with a renewed promise to stay out of the drama and drunken carousing. "My intention is not to come in and hook up with a chick," he says. "I'm here to make money and have a good time and give guests good experiences."

But as sure as the tides ebb and flow, Gary — whose last season saw him hooking up with every available woman on the crew, including one surprisingly steamy hot tub makeout session with Daisy — is soon enough taking shots and preserving his reputation as Parsifal 's resident kissing bandit.

The carousing spirit is shared by many on on board, with new deckhand Alex Propson proclaiming this will be his "hot boy European summer," and steward Madison "Mads" Herrera saying, "I wouldn't be opposed to screwing the crew provided they know how to screw."

Most unexpectedly, though, Gary's longtime wingman Colin is finally stretching his own wings this season in his first filmed charter season without a girlfriend back on land.

"Who do you have your eye on, Colin? You're a single man," Gary asks innocently before the trailer cuts a sizzling shot of the Daisy and Colin kissing on one of the boat's staircases, then later in a crew bunk (hot tubs are so 2022).

As Colin and Daisy grow closer than ever, Gary becomes jealous and seems to miss the chase of being in a will-they-won't-they relationship with Daisy.

Though he assures Colin he likes Daisy "as a friend," he doesn't miss the opportunity to pour cold water on her connection with Colin.

"You know you like me deep down," he says, "and I feel you're hooking up to get back at me — spitefully hooking up."

As the drama and pressure escalate, Daisy says through tears: "Everything is my fault. The guests aren't happy, it's my fault. I can't win. I'm constantly losing."

She'd said earlier in the trailer that she needed to "to work on my stress levels," but it doesn't seem like that's on the horizon for this Sailing Yacht .

4:43pm - And that's the end of the day's racing, before it even begins. The racing window has closed and Mother Nature has carried the honours.

Surely tomorrow, we'll be better prepared... such a shame for the record paying crowd, who go home without seeing any racing.

Join us again at 3pm Sunday for live updates of the revised racing scheduled.

4:33pm - Still no racing, due to "mammals on course", which is a little embarrassing. The same thing happened last year and dolphins are quite common in this area, so it wouldn't have takent much foresight to make sure they had something to do somewhere else today.

The opening race has been delayed, after a dolphin was sighted on the course. SailGP is known for its respect for the ocean and nature, so wellbeing of wildlife comes before racing.

2:57pm - Great Britain have been docked points - both from the NZ regatta and the season standings - after a training incident with Spain.

The Brits collided with the Spanish boat during the third practice race on Friday and the penalty may have ended their chances of reaching the series final at San Francisco.

"We’re licking wounds from that issue," said GBR driver Giles Scott. "It's really, really frustrating, but tomorrow's a new day - we'll come out swinging and see what the weekend's got."

The British now sit seventh overall, 11 points out of the top-three cutoff for the final.

Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of NZ Sail Grand Prix at Christchurch's picturesque Lyttelton Harbour.

Last year saw the international sailing circuit visit the South Island for the first time and many of the participants described the stopover as the best of the year.

This event was scheduled for Auckland, but unavailability of suitable venues forced organisers to return to Lyttelton, which isn't a bad back-up option.

More from Newshub

The home team were pipped by Kiwi skipper Phil Robertson and his Canadian crew in 2023, but the newly branded 'Black Foils' are determined to take honours this weekend, after back-to-back success at Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Driver Peter Burling wans't at the wheel for the last regatta at Sydney, while he was on babywatch, so he'll chase a hattrick of victories at Christchurch.

Saturday's racing will consist of three fleet races, while Sunday will see two more, plus the three-boat final.

The fleet and championship standings are:

Australia - Tom Slingsby

New Zealand - Peter Burling

Denmark - Nicholai Sehested

Spain - Diego Botin

France - Quentin Delapierre

Great Britain - Giles Scott

United States - Taylor Canfield

Canada - Phil Robertson

Germany - Erik Heil

Switzerland - Nathan Outteridge

Join us at 3pm for the first race.

TAB Odds: Australia $2.90, New Zealand $3.25, Denmark $8, France $11, Spain $11

Canada's Kiwi skipper out to spoil homecoming party again at SailGP Christchurch

The black boat isn't the only one chasing a 'home' win at the New Zealand round of SailGP this weekend.

Last year, Kiwi Phil Robertson stole the show, when he drove his Canadian team to victory on Lyttelton Harbour.

Robertson is back in the country for the first time since the famous win and his sights set on a repeat effort this weekend, but defending his title isn't the only reason to come home.

"It's pretty hard to compete with New Zealand coffee around the world," Robertson told Newshub.

As it turns out, that rule applies to most beverages - including the alcoholic variety.

"I definitely like the local craft breweries and get into it... but I still love a Speights," he joked.

Come Sunday, he'll hope those beers will be celebratory. Last year, he helped Canada achieve their only event win to date, spoiling the party for local hero Peter Burling and the NZ boat.

"That was up there," he reflected. "That was massive."

Not everything about being home is bright and sunny.

"It's cold here, but the colder air brings a denser air, so you go faster," he noted.

The ever-comical Robertson has his own way of describing windy conditions at the last event in Sydney.

"You've got to bring your brown undies and buckle up, because it's going to be a wild ride," he said.

Robertson confirms those brown undies have been included in his luggage this weekend.

"I packed my brown undies, but hopefully I won't need them, because I love the speed."

That should be music to the ears of a record 22,0000 spectators who will make this weekend the world's largest ever ticketed sailing event.

"An event like this here in Christchurch, I'm really hoping it inspires the local kids down here to get into it, because it's a wicked sport and there's so many opportunities around the world," he said.

If Robertson can go back-to-back for Canada, there would be no better example set.

10 Below Deck Chef's Who've Made The Best Food

  • Chef Anthony Iracane joins Below Deck season 11 with culinary skills and drama, making his mark on the show.
  • Chef Ben Robinson stands out as a fan favorite with his humor and exceptional cooking on Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.
  • Marcos Spaziani impresses guests with his diverse culinary knowledge and passion on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3.

With Bravo's Below Deck season 11 in full swing, it's the perfect time to take a look back at the franchise's 10 best chefs. This season of the long-running Bravo series introduces a whole new crew of returning and fresh faces, led by Captain Kerry Titheradge, aboard the mega yacht St. David. Captain Kerry replaced Captain Lee Rosbach, who used to helm this vessel and is joined by returning cast members Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Deckhand turned Bosun Ben Willoughby.

One of the Below Deck season 11 cast 's new faces is Chef Anthony Iracane, who made his series debut during the premiere episode of season 11. Chef Anthony's culinary skills will undoubtedly add flavor to the new season , but aside from his work in the kitchen, Chef Anthony will certainly be involved in some of the season's dramatic moments. As Chef Anthony will be looking to make his mark on the show, it's time to take a look back at the array of talented chefs who have appeared on Below Deck in the past.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Leon walker, below deck season 3.

Chef Leon Walker cooked for charter guests for ten episodes of Below Deck season 3. While aboard the ship, Eros, Leon was a great chef, but he was very argumentative. Despite guests loving his food, his abrasive personality got in his way, and many didn't want to see Leon back for future charters. Leon and chief stew Kate Chastain battled throughout the season, and he didn't always honor requests from the charter guests. Leon was fired following a fire in the kitchen, which started because his oven was dirty . After Leon was fired, Chef Ben Robinson swooped in to save the day.

Natasha De Bourg

Below deck sailing yacht season 2.

Natasha De Bourg came aboard as the executive chef during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. Natasha came with an impressive resume, including Michelin-star experience , so it was assumed that her success was a sure thing. Charter guests loved Natasha's food, but fans on Reddit were quick to say how unimpressive the food looked.

One Reddit user wrote, " Not only is her food unimpressive and poorly executed but she has a terrible, “holier than thou” attitude ."

Regardless of how her food looked, guests loved how her food tasted.

Ben Robinson

Below deck seasons 1-4, below deck mediterranean seasons 1 & 4.

The wild-haired Chef Ben Robinson was not only funny and outgoing, he was one of the best chefs to ever appear in the series. His snarky one-liners made Ben an instant Below Deck fan favorite. Robinson was on Below Deck seasons 1-4, and he then appeared in seasons 1 and 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean . Thanks to his fun personality, Ben was one of the most well-liked chefs in the series . In addition to always getting along with his fellow yachties, charter guests raved about Ben's cooking.

David White

Below deck mediterranean season 7.

Chef David White from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 got high scores from guests and crew alike. Even Captain Sandy, who was hard to please, was a big fan of Dave. Though he had a messy romantic drama with Chief Stew Natasha Webb , Dave was always professional with the guests and served fantastic food. He was creative, had fun with different cuisines and the presentations were fantastic.

Because of his skill, creativity, passion, and professionalism, Dave is one of the best chefs from the Below Deck franchise .

Below Deck Mediterranean Seasons 2 & 3, Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1

Chef Adam Glick worked in the kitchen for Below Deck Mediterranean seasons 2 and 3, as well as Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. Aside from his impressive cooking, Adam was most remembered for a love triangle during Below Deck Mediterranean season 2. He met Malia before boarding Sirocco in Croatia and the two were romantically involved.

The relationship began to crumble after Malia started to develop feelings for her bosun, Wes Walton.

In the end, Malia chose Wes over Adam. Adam didn't take the rejection well, and lost his cool, and even got into a physical altercation with Wes at one point. Despite that, he would be invited to return for season 3. He had intended not to get into another romantic entanglement, but he went against his plan and pursued another showmance, this time with stew Jenna Macgillivray. Despite all of his personal drama, Adam was a great chef who was passionate about cooking and who consistently satisfied charter guests with his cuisine.

Adrian Martin

Below deck season 6.

Below Deck season 6's Adrian Martin is one of the show's best chefs. In addition to his impressive skills in the kitchen, Adrian brought a much-needed sense of calm to the crew and even practiced yoga every morning. That being said, he wasn't always the most respectful crew member and sometimes had an abrasive personality . Adrian was criticized for making inappropriate comments towards third stew Laura Betancourt, which made her uncomfortable, and which some characterized as misogynistic. He would often make tasteless, and often sexually charged comments, which Laura really did not appreciate.

Jessica Condy

Below deck adventure season 1.

Chef Jessica Condy from Below Deck Adventure season 1 was always praised for her fantastic cooking skills but was often an emotional mess in the kitchen (via Bravo .) She started cooking when she was only 12 years old and never stopped, so it was only natural that she would make it her career. Though she was a confident and passionate chef, she often felt overwhelmed and would easily get overly upset in the kitchen.

There were even a few times when she completely lost her cool and went off on Chief Stew Faye Clarke. They were thankfully able to work it out, like most chefs and chief stews do. Overall, Chef Jessica was a good mix of skilled chef and a highly entertaining Below Deck cast member.

Tzarina Mace-Ralph

Below deck down under season 2.

Below Deck Down Under season 2's Tzarina Mace-Ralph is one of the franchise's most entertaining chefs . The world-class chef showcased her culinary skills for Captain Jason Chambers and the demanding charter guests on the motor yacht Northern Sun (via Bravo .) Tzarina served impressive meals and unfiltered opinions while trying to live her best life and earn a big paycheck during the Australian yachting charter season. When the Bristol, UK, native wasn't cooking up a storm in the galley, she was entangled in several dramatic romantic entanglements with fellow crew members that added to her entertainment value.

Tzarina was first involved with deckhand Culver Bradbury, but he ended up dumping her for stewardess Jaimie Neale. Tzarina took the rejection really hard and got emotional when she opened up about her past and her insecurities. However, she was able to rebound with returning bosun, João Franco .

The dynamic pair's chemistry was palpable, and their budding relationship was entertaining to watch, but it went down in flames after Tzarina attacked João's character repeatedly.

Rachel Hargrove

Below deck seasons 8-10.

Chef Rachel Hargrove appeared in Below Deck seasons 8-10 and is considered one of the most consistent chefs in the series. She never got negative reviews from the charter guests, was dryly outspoken, and perfected a 10-course dinner that impressed diners. Crew members Eddie Lucas and Francesca Rubi were so impressed with her French toast that they said it was the best they'd ever had.

Rachel first appeared in season 8 of the show and was quite a polarizing character at first. She was confrontational, brutally honest, and criticized for her drinking. Despite the rocky start, Rachel would stay on the show for another two seasons, during which time, she really grew on fans and became a fan favorite.

Marcos Spaziani

Below deck sailing yacht season 3.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3's Marcos Spaziani worked as a chef for ten years before joining the cast of the show, working everywhere from Miami to Los Angeles. While living in LA., he worked as a chef at the well-known Hollywood restaurant Taste, then started his gourmet food truck business. Hailing from Venezuela, Marcos had an expansive knowledge of different kinds of cuisines, which really impressed the guests.

There were rarely any complaints about the meals he served, and both the guests and the crew could taste the passion in his food. In addition to being a stellar chef, Marcos was hardly ever involved in any drama with his fellow crew members. Perhaps his lack of drama contributed to the fact that Marcos is one of the most often forgotten Below Deck cast members.

Below Deck season 11 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. Episodes are available for streaming on Tuesdays on Peacock.
