Rick Obey believes that through honest evaluations, attention to detail and just plain hard work our clients reap the rewards of a successful purchase or sale. We are US dealers of Astondoa , the Spanish company which is proud to be family operated for four generations and counting. With more than 100 years of shipbuilding experience, it continues to lead the yachting industry. The company was founded on the principles of professionalism, reliability, and quality. Yet, the company is not stuck in the past. It looks toward the future with firm commitment to technological development, design, and innovation. The Astondoa yard was founded in 1916 and has a long, well established reputation building Euro-style fiberglass cruisers ranging in size from 38’ to 80’ as well as a line of superior 100+ yachts.

Worked with Gregory Bushara at Rick Obey to purchase our first boat. I was guided through the entire process by him and he represented himself as professional and knowledgeable. Specifically, I always knew what I needed to do next. In addition- Greg referred me to an excellent boat surveyor, and financier for the loan. I'll close by saying he went over and above on some small details- and if I ever purchase another vessel, I wouldn't hesitate to use Greg Bushara again.

Just called this yacht broker. Inquired about a boat for sale when the broker told me, "Well, It's for sale, but it's really not for sale.." So why list this boat on Yacht World, advertise all its amenities and the fact the owner dropped the price. No where on the listing does it say, this is a charter boat.!!!!! At least be transparent and put in the listing this is a charter boat, ITS NOT FOR SALE. I'd be careful with doing business with the yacht broker, if they do this, what else are they doing??? Shady. Word to the wise, skip this place, take your business elsewhere.

This yacht broker rarely answers the phone & their sales representatives rarely respond to inquiries. It's amazing that this company is still in business given their poor attitude towards prospective clients.

I normally would not take the time to send a review that is negative. I have always sent positive reviews even if I thought a negative review might be warranted in some form or fashion. However, I will take the time to send a negative review on my correspondence with Yacht Broker Barbara Kaufman. She is flat out rude! I sent here a text with an offer on a 2006 Doral 38' on 5-8-2020. She apparently felt my offer was too low, so she chose to ignore my text which is unprofessional in my opinion. I sent here a text today 7-2-2020 asking her to call me as I am interested in a 1997 38' Cranchi. She text me right back with "Hey Kerry, Hope you are doing well. The boat just sold". My Reply: "Ok. Thank you so much". Her reply: "Ooops sorry wrong boat. Its available, I'm with clients. Talk later?". My reply: "sure. Give me a call when you break free". Her Reply: Will do. ****** She then proceeded to call me live to scold me that I gave her a low ball offer on the Doral and the Cranchi has sold. She was very unprofessional and condescending in your tone as well as her delivery. I will never do business with any Yacht company that retains her services. She is clearly in the wrong business where customer / client relationships are vital to a Yacht Sales Company. I have attached the text response below as proof. If you see a Boat listing with Barbara Kaufman, RUN!
