The new Cure 55 from Cure Marine has been announced and this incredibly light catamaran will likely deliver some seriously impressive performance

Product Overview

The Cure 55 extremely lightweight Australian model is intended as the ultimate performance cruising multihull, combining spacious and well appointed accommodation with the ability to cross oceans at speed, even when sailing double-handed or even solo.

It’s a full carbon fibre build, including hulls, longeron, boards and rudders. That equates to an incredibly light predicted displacement of only 9.5 tonnes – which is over two tonnes lighter than the ORC 57, arguably the most performance oriented production cat at the moment. The hulls look very slender, while a carbon Hall Spars mast and North 3Di sails are standard equipment.

A big 3kW solar array, allied to a 13kW battery bank should give near complete electrical autonomy, though the twin 57hp Yanmar engines are fitted with ultra-high output alternators, which means the weight and complexity of a diesel generator is not required, even to run air conditioning.

The molds are ready! With construction soon to begin at Coolum Beach - just a stone's throw from the Sunshine Coast, on Australia’s east coast, the Cure 55 is a sharp all-carbon catamaran that makes the most of its one-piece structure to keep its displacement down to just over 9 tons.

The hulls are angled at 2.5° like the old Catanas, with very fine entry bows, slightly inverted bows and daggerboards. In short, the Cure 55 looks not dissimilar to a Gunboat - only smaller the current ones of course. The Hall Spars rig is obviously also in carbon, as is the Park Avenue boom that sits flush with the coachroof. The hardware on deck gives pride of place to electricity. On the coachroof, there are 3 kWp of solar panels, connected to a 13 kWh LiFePO4 battery bank. Apart from the cooktop and the stove, supplied with 240 V via the inverter, the whole catamaran runs at 48 V, allowing a weight saving of 550 pounds (250 kg) in wiring. All the technical elements are centered and lowered to the maximum to create the best seakeeping behavior for the catamaran. The layouts and deck plan focus around the nacelle and the cockpit, though the owners nevertheless has the entire starboard hull at their disposal. Launch is scheduled for this year. Technology and process underpin any great project. Production of the Cure 55 catamaran has its foundations in the Designed For Manufacture principal and is underpinned and supported by some of the latest technology currently in use in Global boatbuilding. Design of the Cure 55 catamaran was undertaken by Paul Bury with support from the in-house Cure Design team. An absolute design focus on safety, performance and comfort has resulted in a vessel that redefines the way cruising catamarans are seen. The Cure 55’s layout has been designed with an emphasis on comfortable, safe long-term cruising. Whether you’re a cruising couple, a whole family, or cruisers who enjoy bringing guests along, the cure 55 has exceptional, inviting accommodations for all. The standard layout has the luxurious owner’s hull to starboard incorporating a large ensuite. To port, there is a spacious aft guest cabin and a forward cabin with configurable options for an additional double berth, bunks with office space or a combination or workshop/storage space. The port hull also houses separate toilet and shower compartments. Australian designed and built to exacting tolerances, Cure Marine aim to raise the bar for quality construction of high performance cruising catamarans. Our purpose built, 3400sqm factory and advanced manufacturing processes, enable efficiency and accuracy for all our builds. Construction of the Cure 55 hull uses the highest quality carbon fibre cloths and Australian made epoxy resins. Internally, the cabinetry and furniture materials have been developed over years of testing and refinement. They are both lightweight and strong with a beautiful level of finish. Cure Marine is at the forefront of composites design and manufacturing. We utilise an array of in house, state of the art automated machinery. Including robotic equipment, CNC Machines, laminate cutters and one of the largest 3D Printers in the southern hemisphere. Through our use of smart manufacturing, we are realizing a digital transformation to the 4th Industrial Revolution – Industry 4.0. Our strict adherence to using only the best materials, components and processes, allows us to obtain very high, consistent levels of quality. Our automated processes also enable an outstanding degree of efficiency.

Where to Buy a Home in Moscow in 2024

The growth in suburban house prices in 2021 can be as high as 15%. This prognosis was voiced by the participants of Moscow’s real estate market. Housing near Moscow has already gone up in value by 7%, and before the end of the year, this number is quite likely to rise by another 2–3%. The pandemic has changed the trends on the suburban real estate market – the current demand for detached houses is noticeably higher than before the global outbreak of Covid-19, and this naturally influences the cost of residential homes, say the experts. They also note that traditionally, the fall-winter period has always been considered a time of low demand for houses for sale in Russia; however, the opposite is now the case.

Here are the Moscow real estate categories to consider when buying a house in Russia:

• By direction and location (Rublyovka, Novaya Riga, Barvikha);
• By classification ( luxury , business class, economy);
• By development format (townhouses, detached private homes).

When purchasing homes in Moscow, Russia, a good rule of thumb is to select houses within an 18.6-mile (30 km) radius from the center of Moscow. This ensures you will get a well-developed infrastructure, and that the chosen location will be replete with hospitals and schools.

We recommend considering the West, South and North directions just out of Moscow. You may notice that country houses are noticeably cheaper on the capital’s Eastern side. However, this is due to poor environmental conditions – the result of the presence of a number of industrial facilities in the entire East area.

Best Cottage Communities in Moscow

Muscovites with high incomes live in closed elite cottage communities that have their own full infrastructure. Such cottage communities are usually designed by Europe’s best architects, especially contracted for the job. These locations have everything: private English schools, restaurants, shops, pools and gyms, beauty salons and equestrian sports clubs.

The most expensive houses up for sale are located in the Barvikha Hills area (Rublevka direction). This elite location near Moscow even has its own famous brand boutiques: Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Bentley, Ferrari and Harley-Davidson. The least expensive house here costs 1.5 million US dollars and has a floor area of 656 sqft (200 m²). This gated community is just 10-20 minutes by car away from Moscow itself.

We encourage you to consider some of the following elite locations as you decide where to purchase your ideal property: Etude Family Club, La-Mansh, Western Residence, Yusupovo Life Park, Odintsovo, Novaya Riga and Pirogovo. There you will find everything one requires for a comfortable life, at the price of 300 to 500 thousand US dollars for a residential home.
