Après les succès des désormais mythiques Virus Magnum 18 et 21, le chantier morbihannais se lance dans l’aventure du catamaran de raid. Pour notre plus grand plaisir.

L’idée d’un essai consiste avant tout à se faire plaisir, aussi avons-nous choisi notre jour : la météo prévoit un vent faible à modéré, avec du soleil. Surtout, il est annoncé portant à l’aller bien sûr (de Locmiquélic, dans la rade de Lorient, jusqu’à Rosbras, à 25 milles de là, sur l’Aven, qui mène à… Pont-Aven), mais aussi au retour, puisque la girouette de Mr Ugrib annonce une bascule pour la nuit. On ne s’est pas trompés : « si tu es au près, c’est que tu as mal choisi ta route » Une fois sortis de la rade de Lorient, le V8 affiche son caractère. A la peine dans les tout petits airs au plus près de la côte, au près notamment (mais un code 0 saura l’aider à s’en extraire), il s’éveille franchement dès que la brise flirte avec 6-7 nœuds, pour permettre au GPS d’afficher des valeurs qui évoluent dès lors que le vent monte ou descend de 1 ou 2 nœuds. Peu à peu nous prenons nos marques, sur les ailes, le stick à la main, on se sent bien, à l’abri de l’humidité, bien assis, avec une bonne visibilité sur la plateforme et sur les voiles. Les ailes gagneraient à être équipées d’un dossier, ce qui devrait se faire à l’avenir.

Un vrai cata de raid, agréable à barrer et performan...

I’d also take Peter up on his invitation to Double-dip the Sarasota regatta and a cruise in company down the coast to Boca Grande for a long weekend.

Has anyone ever tried hiking “wings” on a Stiletto 27?

I do know a guy up here in Utah who’s tried trap lines.

I’m not usre how much they add, but “hanging out” while the boat is “singing” sure is fun on a beach cat.

I’d guess on a Stiletto it would be a blast.

I also wondered about how that long spinnaker pole set up would work on the Stiletto 27. Any thoughts???

Wait…I think my annual “winteritis” is starting to relapse.

Replying to Tom House comments: Tom we had the owner of the v8 cat trying to sell the boat here last year and it didnt go over well.(search v8) its great to read .There are some pictures of a 27 with custom made wings in the portfolio section.I pulled my 30 out monday after we had some 60 mph days here with 14’waves and a 8′ surge on lake Erie.Heres todays wind back up to 54 knots in Buffalo with some 60 gusts in the area.Glad my boat is on the trailer with the tramp off.I added a picture of it on the trailer. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=BUFN6

Where to buy a home in moscow in 2024.

The growth in suburban house prices in 2021 can be as high as 15%. This prognosis was voiced by the participants of Moscow’s real estate market.
