9 Stars Who Own Ultraluxurious Yachts

celebrities with luxury yachts

Luxury doesn’t stop once you leave the land, or even at private jets. Behold the celebrity yacht, something the most opulent individuals keep on hand so they can extravagantly take to the seas at a moment’s notice. Some, like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck or Kylie Jenner , merely charter yachts for a few weeks a year, but others, with a true commitment to the nautical lifestyle, pony up the millions it costs to buy and maintain a massive boat year after year. Below, we detail some of the best and biggest celebrity yachts (and the parties that take place aboard!).

Giorgio Armani

“I want this boat for the rest of my life, or for what remains of it,” Giorgio Armani told British Vogue during their visit to the yacht he meticulously designed himself, known as the Maín . The perfectly polished all black boat, complete with tinted windows throughout, is an impressive antidote to the sea of entirely white yachts at most docks. His previous boat, the Mariù , was equally as stylish, and he welcomed AD aboard in 2003.

Diane von Furstenberg

Eos , the yacht of Diane von Furstenberg and her husband Barry Diller, is said to be one of the largest in the world . The couple clearly takes advantage of all that room—just take the well documented trip to Tahiti they took with Anderson Cooper, Alison Williams, Bradley Cooper, Irina Shayk, and Andy Cohen, among others, as proof.

It’s no surprise that multibillionaire Jeff Bezos has a yacht of his own. The Amazon founder’s $500 million boat is on track to be ready this June, years after he commissioned it in 2018 . Bezos has recently faced backlash for requesting that a bridge in Rotterdam, Netherlands, be dismantled so his massive yacht can pass through the town later this year.

Andrea Bocelli

The lavish lifestyle of opera star Andrea Bocelli wouldn’t be complete without a yacht. The star singer has owned eight different vessels over the last two decades, and in 2018 he replaced his 72-foot Gamma 22 Libertas with an 86-foot-long Darwin 86 called the Stella del Nord .

Tiger Woods

The Privacy.

According to Golf , Tiger Woods’s yacht Privacy is something of a second home to the athlete, who sleeps on board when he’s away from home at major championship tournaments. Nine other guests could easily sleep on the boat, and enjoy the jacuzzi, wet bar, and decompression chamber.

Just six months after buying a $2 million mini yacht, the Wajer 55s, Tom Brady spent $6 million on the Wajer 77, with a sleeping capacity of nine, more than double the first boat’s capacity. “I think the 77 will be a little more suited for what we need it for down here, which is a few more day trips and weekend trips,” Brady said in a video announcing the Wajer 77. “We spend a lot of time in the Bahamas, so going from the east coast of Florida across into the Bahamas and around the Bahamas would be really great trips for us as a family.”

Billionaire movie and music produce r David Geffen’s $590 million yacht, the Rising Sun , easily trumps Jeff Bezos’s and the parties Geffen’s thrown onboard rival those that Diane von Fursternberg has hosted. The Obamas, Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Oprah , and Julia Roberts are among the many big names who’ve rode on the Rising Sun , which reportedly counts a double-height cinema and basketball court among its list of luxurious amenities.

Tommy Hilfiger

The Wajer 77.

Appropriate for the designer known for his love of red, white, and blue, Tommy Hilfiger’s yacht is named the Flag . Hilfiger has owned the boat which he calls his “most prized possession” for five years now, and over that time, he’s added his Americana-inspired touch to the classy interiors that were designed by Chahan Minassian.

Valentino Garavani

The TM Blue One .

Fashion maven Valentino Garavani has owned his yacht, TM Blue One, since 1988, and yet it still remains an essential hot spot for his family and celebrity pals. The yacht is named for his parents, Teresa and Mauro, and was designed by Peter Marino, the architect who designed his New York apartment, too. Though the pastime du jour is unknown, it’s said that all guests were encouraged to take up needlepoint while on board back in the 90s.

29 Most Expensive Celebrity Yachts, Ranked by Value

David and Victoria Beckham Yacht

Celebrities consistently create demand in the private yacht market. If a celebrity’s net worth is in the high millions or more, they can certainly afford to indulge in luxury superyachts, which can cost well into seven figures or more and have six- to seven-figure annual operating costs.

The main reason that celebrities like yachting is that they can enjoy intimate, low-key trips with friends and family, out of reach of paparazzi cameras. Tiger Woods enjoys personal time aboard his yacht so much that he named the ship Privacy and even sleeps on board when he travels to golf tournaments.

Even if celebrities don’t own a yacht, they may charter them, as Rihanna and Beyonce do, for quiet time away from the spotlight. After traveling on a friend’s yacht, or chartering one, a celebrity may decide to take the plunge and buy one themselves. That’s what happened to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling after she chartered actor Johnny Depp’s yacht. The Beckhams decided to get their own vessel after spending summers on the Mediterranean with their good friend Sir Elton John on his yacht Wabi Sabi. Some celebrities, such as Apple founder Steve Jobs, singer Billy Joel or fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, were involved in every step of creating their own customized yacht.

So, which celebrity yachts are the most expensive and extravagant? We made a list of the top ones — some of which have been sold in recent years, possibly due to their high operating costs, but will always be identified with their iconic celebrity owners. We then ranked the yachts by their current value, adjusted for inflation.

Yachts owned by celebrities

Tell me the VIP you are and I’ll tell you the yacht you own!

Sportsmen, musicians, and songwriters, not to mention wealthy entrepreneurs and prominent personalities. What unites them with each other? Fame, glory, and yes, wealth, you may think. Well, also but not only! One of the hallmarks of a VIP worthy of this name is the way he spends his holidays: aboard a superyacht of course!

Why do all VIPs want to own a yacht?

Obviously, this type of boat is aimed only at a certain type of clientele, that of the super-rich, obviously, but what drives them to buy these luxurious giants of the sea, in addition to their enormous economic possibility? Firstly, a much more earthly aspect counts confidentiality. What better place than your own yacht to seek some privacy away from photographers and paparazzi?

Anchored off the coast of beautiful bays or luxurious marinas, the boat becomes the most discreet place to spend intimate moments in total tranquility or to organize exclusive private parties with tens or hundreds of guests.

Related:  VIPs and yachts: a love story!

Which categories do the VIP owners of superyachts belong to?

The category that seems to dominate in terms of the number of owners is certainly that of sportsmen. Footballers, football players, and fighters are among the most classic vessel owners but also tennis players and NBA stars.

Movie stars and singers are no less, while there are few but very well-known successful entrepreneurs who love to sail with their giants of the sea.

What is the type of superyacht bought by celebrities?

Spacious, ultra-luxury but also extravagant or even vintage and retro.

These are the characteristics that most seem to unite the most sought-after superyachts on the market by VIPs from all over the world.

As it is easy to guess, those who don’t need to spare expenses to make their houseboat as precious and technological as possible can reach extremes such as the famous and superb History Supreme and Eclipse, valued billions of dollars and owned by Arab sheiks and tycoons and Russians.

However, there is no shortage of distinctions. Some of them gladly opt for vintage sailing ships or even unlikely very particular boats.

Our top selection of yachts owned by celebrities

So, are you curious to know which are the best and most extravagant superyachts owned by stars and celebrities? Here is the list of the most deserving:

Viva la Vida

Yacht owned by multiple football champion Tom Brady

The new Viva a Vida has been designed to combine the luxurious design of a superyacht with the technical innovations that make builder Wajer stand out in the industry. An automatic roof and electrically adjustable deck layout are some of the innovative features, as well as a hybrid system designed to protect the hull from contact with other boats or docks.

Made for extended family trips to the Bahamas, Brady ‘s Wajer 77 is all about spaciousness and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. Unlike other famous superyachts which are more about the extravagant interiors and lavish details.

Inside, the cabins are built with a height of over 7 feet (2.15 to 2.35 meters). Outside, the circular seating, the front sundeck, and the cozy large sofas at the back create the perfect atmosphere for a holiday trip.

There is also a back dining room where the Brady family and their friends can enjoy dinner while taking in the beautiful view. With enough space to accommodate nine people.

Designed to be very quiet, thanks to special seals and thick doors, all cabins, including the 5-meter wide owner’s suite, the Junior suite with double bed, and the guest cabin with two beds, are equipped with private bathrooms. There is no lack of premium amenities, including the kitchen and bar.

To celebrate the history of Lamborghini , the Italian brand and The Italian Sea Group presented the yacht Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63: the boat, built with the contribution of the car manufacturer, is a high-tech product that can be customized in many ways on the aesthetic plan. The boat makes extensive use of carbon fiber materials, is about 19 meters (63 feet) long, weighs 24 tons, and is distinguished by several exclusive elements, from the design to the hexagonal motifs, passing through the LED daytime running lights shaped of a Y and the special liveries of the Lamborghini Ad Personam program. Inside, the Carbon Skin finishes are proposed for the bridge and the start buttons of the two engines are identical to those of the Lamborghini brand cars.

This star yacht was designed by the Zuccon International Project. Apparently, some changes to the boat, born in 2016, were made on the recommendation of Beckham himself, who wanted to personalize and make his jewel of the sea even more exclusive.

Great White

The 80 Sunreef Power Great White can accommodate up to 8 guests thanks to its comfortable 4-cabin layout. Her starboard hull houses the owner’s suite, one of the yacht’s guest cabins, and the crew quarters.

Richard Branson, the prolific British billionaire and mastermind behind the Virgin brand, owned the 32-meter catamaran, Necker Belle , until 2018, which later sold for an asking price of $ 3,000,000.

Launched in 2003 by CMN, the catamaran is 32 meters long and has a total of 4 cabins for up to 10 guests. Stretching over a beam of 14 meters, the yacht was completely refitted in 2009. She is powered by Caterpillar engines, and she can reach a top speed of 20 knots.

Lately part of Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition collection , Necker Belle was available for charter starting at $ 60,000 per week among other assets such as his private island of Necker in the British Virgin Islands.

Yacht once owned by Eric Clapton

British musician Eric Clapton recently auctioned his luxury yacht, “Va Bene”, offering it at a Hollywood memorabilia sale in Los Angeles.

The auction took place on November 28, 2020, and the yacht was offered an auction base that ranged between 7 and 10 million dollars. She is a 47.5-meter long luxury boat purchased by Clapton in 2005 and completely refurbished three years later.

The yacht, which was built in 1992 and can accommodate 14 guests in six cabins, had already gone on sale in 2018 on a shipping broker’s website and was priced at around $ 12 million, but remained unsold.

Yacht owned by songwriter Billy Joel

The extraordinary 57-foot yacht Vendetta was designed by naval architect Doug Zurn and was built in 2005 for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame musician Billy Joel.

Designed in classic 1920s yacht style, Vendetta boasts ample cockpit space and a luxurious interior. She presents a classic design, with modern mechanics, electronics and services, and great power.

She can accommodate a maximum of 12 passengers and boasts a considerably lower weight than other yachts in her class. She can also reach speeds approaching 50 knots on a composite hull constructed of Kevlar.

Vendetta recently completed a refit that lasted two and a half years and was completed in 2019.

Yacht-a, yacht-a, yacht-a.

Experts at Ritzy Charters have revealed a list of the 10 most expensive yachts afloat — and the top three are worth a whopping $1.29 billion combined, exceeding the GDP of some smaller countries.

“Luxury yachts are more than just a symbol of wealth; they not only provide incredibly gorgeous views but a level of privacy to those onboard who want a sense of relaxation that you can’t get from anywhere other than chartering across oceans,” a spokesperson for the company said in a statement .

#1 David Geffen, “The Rising Sun”

Riding high at the top of the list is media magnate David Geffen’s The Rising Sun , worth a jaw-dropping $590 million.

Originally owned by tech mogul Larry Ellison, the superyacht cost an estimated $200 million to build back in 2004. The classy craft measures more than 452 feet long and features a basketball court, a helicopter landing pad and a wine cellar — even a movie theater.

Boldfacers who’ve accepted invitations to sail on the elite vessel include Oprah, Stephen Spielberg, Barack Obama and Julia Roberts.

Geffen purchased the vessel — which holds 18 guests and 55 crew members in its 82 rooms — in 2010.

#2 Jeff Bezos, “Koru”

Koru, owned by Jeff Bezos, is worth $500 million. It features a figurehead carved in the likeness of fiancee Lauren Sanchez.

Second on the list is the Koru , owned by none other than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos .

The behemoth, triple-masted yacht — reportedly worth an impressive $500 million — is the largest billionaire yacht that can venture into the high seas by sail power only.

Hosting celebs like Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, Koru features a pool, hot tub, bars, multiple dining spaces and a masthead modeled after the mogul’s fiancee, Lauren Sanchez .

#3 Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg, “Eos”

The yacht is owned by Film mogul Barry Diller and his fashion designer wife, Diane von Fuerstenberg.

In third place is the Eos, which belongs to fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and her husband, Barry Diller, who purchased the ship in 2009 for $200 million, Ritzy Charters reports.

The 305-foot long superyacht, which features a glass staircase, a jacuzzi and a figurehead of von Furstenberg herself, accommodates up to 14 travelers.

#4 Laurene Powell, “Venus”

The yacht ordered by Apple's late founder Steve Jobs remains docked at the De Vries shipyard in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, on October 29, 2012.

The $120 million, Phillippe Starck-designed Venus, owned by Steve Jobs’ widow Laurene Powell, comes in fourth, measuring in at 225 feet. Powell does not use the yacht often and does not charter it out either, according to YachtWorld — she was last spotted using it in Barbados, nearly a year ago.

#5 Sean “Diddy” Combs, “The Maraya”

celebrities with luxury yachts

In fifth is Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 177-foot yacht named The Maraya, which cost the rapper an estimated $65 million, back in 2012.

The boat can be chartered for $300,000 per week, and holds up to 12 seafarers in six cabins. There’s a gym, jacuzzi and even a personal chef.

#6 Georgio Armani, “Main”

celebrities with luxury yachts

Fashion designer Georgio Armani’s $64 million “Main,” honoring a nickname given to his mother, is a sleek, dark 213-footer, designed by Italian firm Codecasa. The already impressive ship will soon be bested by something even bigger and more sleek; the new craft is due to set sail in 2024.

#7 Jackie Chan, “Jinlong 4601”

The famed martial artist spent two years waiting for his impressive superyacht, built in China and said to be worth $46 million.

#8 Sir Elton John, “Wabi Sabi”

Designed for going off the grid, or at least something like it, the $29.1 million craft has been spotted in all kinds of remote locations around the globe. As of earlier this year, the American-made pleasure cruiser was reportedly up for sale; in the meantime, it was being offered for rent at an eye-watering $195,000 per week.

#9 Tiger Woods, “Privacy”

Tiger woods yacht Privacy reportedly up for sale for the tune of $25million.

There’s an 8-person jacuzzi on deck aboard the $29 million “Privacy,” delivered in 2004 and considered to be one of the plushest yachts in its class.

#10 J.K. Rowling, Amphitrite

The ship that Harry bought — J.K. Rowling's Amphitrite formerly belonged to Johnny Depp.

Formerly belonging to Johnny Depp — and named Amphitrite by the movie star in honor of then-partner Amber Heart, the relatively modest but impressive boat was sold to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling some years back. The classic style is a departure from the sleek, modern look favored by other owners.

1. Giorgio Armani’s “Main”

Our voyage through the realm of celebrity-owned yachts begins with Main, an elegant vessel owned by the renowned fashion icon Giorgio Armani. While it might not command the same scale as some of its counterparts, Main measures approximately 65 meters and can accommodate up to 12 guests in addition to 14 crewmembers. The vessel serves as an extension of Armani’s unwavering commitment to aesthetics. Armani designed the interiors himself, taking a meticulous hand with the details to echo the timeless elegance that his brand epitomizes.

2. Jeff Bezos’ “Koru”

As the 3rd richest person in the world, it was only a matter of time before Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, set his sights on an extraordinary nautical venture. Koru is a maritime marvel, with a commanding length of 127 meters, crafted by the renowned shipbuilders at Oceano in the Netherlands.

The superyacht boasts a three-masted schooner design, combining a robust steel hull with a lightweight aluminum superstructure. Koru primarily relies on kinetic energy generated by towering sails, but is equipped with engine power for when the winds calm down. This celebrity owned yacht can accommodate up to 18 guests and a crew of 36 people.

3. Rafael Nadal’s “Great White”

Great White is the yacht owned by tennis maestro Rafael Nadal. Designed by Sunreef Yachts, the vessel reflects Nadal’s pursuit of excellence and his appreciation for respite. At approximately 24 meters, the smaller size of Great White suggests that it’s designed for relaxation and simple exploration , providing a serene escape from the demands of Nadal’s athletic career. Great White can accommodate up to 8 guests across a 4- cabin layout. The interior was designed to feel like home for Nadal, as he aims to merge the comforts of his life on land with his passion for the sea.

4. Roman Abramovich’s “Eclipse”

At 162.5 meters in length, Roman Abramovich’s Eclipse is the largest, privately-owned superyacht in the world and the 3 rd longest yacht in the world. Abramovich is a Russian Billionaire better known for his ownership of the Chelsea Football Club. However, Eclipse adds to his reputation as a showcase of his penchant for opulence, setting new standards for luxury and security on the water.

This colossal vessel boasts two helipads, a swimming pool with a retractable roof, multiple jacuzzies, and even an onboard missile defense system. Eclipse can accommodate a crew of 66 and up to 36 guests and can reach a top speed of 21.5 knots.

5. The Edge’s “Cyan”

U2’s The Edge–also known as David Howell Evans – owns the superyacht Cyan. While it might not be the grandest in size, at approximately 49 meters, the vessel exudes a sense of understated elegance and merges the wealth and luxury of yachting with The Edge’s rock-and-roll style.

In place of high-tech security systems and dual helipads, Cyan boasts an intimate atmosphere perfect for creating cherished family memories. Perhaps that’s why The Edge has opened Cyan for charters. The vessel can accommodate up to 12 guests and a crew of 11, and is well-known for having one of the best outdoor cinemas found on a superyacht.

Top superyachts chartered by celebrities

As Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker celebrate their wedding festivities on board a luxury superyacht, take a look at the other yachts chartered by A-list celebrities looking for some respite away from shore, including Tyson Fury, Michael Jordan, Leonardo di Caprio, Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Regina d'Italia | Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker

Codecasa superyacht Regina d'Italia hosted a high-profile charter group in May 2022 as Kourtney Kardashian and her family stayed on board in the lead up to her wedding with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The celebrity newlyweds were joined by their famous family and celebrity friends as they anchored off the Italian seaside town of Portofino, close to the hilltop villa where the ceremony was held onshore.

Measuring 65 metres LOA, Regina d’Italia was delivered in 2019. The two-toned silver and white yacht allegedly belongs to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who were the designers chosen for Kourtney's wedding dress. The interiors, which can sleep up to 14 guests and 16 crew, were reportedly designed by Dolce and Gabbana themselves in an elaborate style complete with leopard print rugs and gilded furniture. Little else is known about the superyacht’s features except that she is equipped with a gym and a five metre swimming pool on the sundeck. She can reach a top speed of 17 knots and has an ocean-crossing range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Regina d’Italia is currently not openly listed on the charter market.

According to Boat International, the superyacht industry has shown robust growth, with a record number of superyachts built just last year. More than 1,200 superyacht projects were on the global order books in 2023, a 17.5% increase compared to previous years. With a boom in charters, new builds, and technology, demand is expected to continue well into 2024 and beyond. Younger clients are becoming more enticed by the yachting industry, with the average age of superyacht owners now being between 35 and 45.

This year’s yacht events will be center stage at some of the most stunning destinations across the globe. Displaying the best craftsmanship, advancements, and amenities the boat industry has to offer, here are some impressive yacht shows you won’t want to miss.

Palm Beach International Boat Show:

March 21 – 24

Coming this spring, the most prestigious names within the yachting industry will be gathering for four days at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. Over 800 vessels will be featured as well as the finest superyacht lifestyle products. Some of the hundreds of boats include 8-foot RIBS as well as powerboats, sailboats, fishing boats, and motor boats. Known as one of the best networking opportunities within the yachting industry, more than 55,000 boat aficionados, such as manufacturers, brokers, and distributors from all over the world, will be in attendance. In fact, the show is anticipated to bring in $1.05 billion to the South Florida economy. The event also offers a VIP experience, which is an indoor and outdoor oasis with early admission to the show, a premium open bar, delicious food, and much more. For those looking to find their perfect, personalized vessel or check out the latest boating technology and marine products, here is a layout of the boat show map.

Seeking both convenience and luxury? HotelPlanner recommends the Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown. Situated within a mile of the Palm Beach International Boat Show, Canopy boasts an array of amenities, such as a rooftop pool and a bar lounge, with nightly rates starting at just $798.

Mediterranean Yacht Show 2024:

April 27 – May 1

Returning once again to the beautiful Greek island of Nafplio, the Mediterranean Yacht Show presents yacht owners and brokers the ultimate opportunity to showcase their luxury crewed vessels. The shows will attract even more interest for this year’s 8th annual event as boating professionals prepare for what is expected to be the busiest summer charter season in recent years. Regarded as the world’s largest crewed charter show, over 3,500 LOA luxury yachts will be on display, 750 brokers are slated to be in attendance, and 42 exhibitors will be available. Located off the Argolic Gulf, this breathtaking destination also provides a variety of social programs for attendees, in addition to the numerous vessels anchored in the marina. Whether you decide to relax after a day of exploration or are in search of some fun, visitors can try out the renowned soirées while taking in the gorgeous views.

For the perfect oasis away from the yacht show’s bustling activities and crowds, check out the Amalia Hotel. This resort was originally built to reflect the town’s rich culture and history. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and palm trees, the neoclassical architecture creates a spacious flow, providing guests with complete relaxation. By booking through HotelPlanner, a classic room with either double or twin beds starts at $109.

Cannes Yachting Festival:

September 10 – 15

The Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the world’s most famous nautical events and the largest in-water yacht show in the Mediterranean. The six-day celebration regularly draws more than 50,000 visitors and includes a range of vessels from 5 to 50 meters in length. Located in the timeless French Riviera, guests can explore a retinue of the popular boats, tenders, and different elements of the luxury yachting lifestyle. As a fun element, a select number of brands offer daily sea trials aboard their unique vessels. In addition to this, seminars are offered throughout the festival, as well as competitions and demonstrations. To shake things up, a new sector will be presented in dedication to new motor boats that are over eight meters long. For those interested, this display will be located in Port Canto, one of the two beautiful ports in Cannes. For those looking to get back to land, a special selection of outboard engines will be available in town. A staggering 700 vessels will be shown throughout the celebration, including water, sailing, motor, monohull, multihull, rigid, and semi-rigid hull boats. To capture the prestigious moments of Europe’s top in-water boat show, an estimated 592 journalists will be in attendance from 5 continents.

Less than 10 minutes away from the Vieux Port lies the gorgeous Hotel Barriere Le Majestic. There are over 250 rooms within the hotel, which faces the Mediterranean Sea and overlooks the famous steps of Palais des Festivals. Located on La Croisette, the charming hotel is also a fantastic place for foodies hoping to taste some incredible Mediterranean dishes.

Abu Dhabi International Boat Show:

November 21 – 24

As the leading maritime and leisure event in the Middle East, boat fanatics from across the globe will get to experience a unique display of yachts at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center’s marina. The three-day event will take place at the newly completed waterfront hall, making it one of the few boat shows in the world to offer visitors indoor and outdoor nautical events simultaneously. Live demonstrations and interactive experiences will be available throughout the 40,000-square-meter facility. Outside of the traditional yacht show, the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show will offer exclusive lifestyle programs with showcases of water sports and other special marine technology from local and international brands. • Luxury Yacht Transformation: Ace to Eye, A Tale of Personalization

O ne man’s personalized luxury yacht may not suit another’s tastes, not due to inferior quality, but because it fails to resonate with the new owner’s preferences. This truth was exemplified by the transformation of Lurssen’s renowned superyacht, Ace.

Launched in 2012, Ace, an 85-meter vessel with interior and exterior design by Andrew Winch, was tailored for Ukrainian billionaire Yuriy Kosiuk. Boasting 2,723 GT of interior volume, it catered to Kosiuk’s vision of a family-centric retreat equipped with unprecedented luxuries and innovative design elements.

Despite being a symbol of opulence, Ace was later listed for sale in 2020, eventually finding a new owner after a slight price adjustment. Post-acquisition, the yacht underwent a significant refit, including a name change to Eye, symbolizing a fresh chapter under anonymous ownership.

Eye’s transformation, conducted at MB92 in Barcelona, Spain, was shrouded in secrecy, culminating in a redesign that eliminated Ace’s distinctive “eyes” feature, opting for a more conventional aesthetic.

While the exterior alterations may suggest a departure from its predecessor’s identity, the interior remains undisclosed, leaving speculation about the extent of modifications and whether Eye will enter the charter market.

lexus expands LY680 yacht's swimming platform and flybridge to fit a barbecue grill on deck

Lexus expands ly680 luxury yacht’s flybridge.

At the Japan International Boat Show 2024, Lexus unveiled the 1/20 scale model of its new LY680 Luxury Yacht , an upgrade of the previous LY650 water vehicle . Lexus’ latest model comes with an expanded swimming platform and flybridge to accommodate more guests on deck. The extended flybridge, which measures 1,400mm, now features a spacious lounge area and a dedicated barbecue grill, while the swimming platform has been expanded by 700mm to accommodate additional guests who wish to take a dip in the sea.

When Lexus conceived the idea for its LY680 Luxury Yacht, even before its debut at the Japan International Boat Show 2024 , the design team aimed to create a water vehicle that would feel like a ‘tranquil hideaway at sea.’ They imagined it as a moving space where ‘discerning customers could feel free and at ease.’ The resulting concept was a three-level luxury yacht equipped with living spaces that make the LY680 feel like a deluxe apartment on the sea.

The passengers enter the Lexus’ LY680 Luxury Yacht, and when they descend, they can find a kidney-shaped sofa nestled in one corner. Adjacent to the sofa is a desk with a plush seat, tailored as a workspace at sea for those who still need to hustle. Panoramic windows adorn the space, offering views of the waters and allowing natural light to flood in. The use of dark, varnished wood adds a sense of opulence to the interior, and across from the sofa and desk, a semi-circular bed invites passengers to relax while watching the waves and scenery through slanted windows.

1/20 scale model at Japan International Boat Show 2024

Walking up to the control area, the captain of Lexus’ LY680 Luxury Yacht navigates the water vehicle with ease through the expansive set of windows. The openness of the space is further enhanced by plush seating, two of them reminiscent of cinema seats. Even the wooden floors help brighten up the overall aesthetic. During the Japan International Boat Show 2024, where yacht enthusiasts could view the 1/20 scale model of the LY680, Lexus revealed that the luxury yacht can accommodate up to 15 passengers across three rooms with six beds.

Twin Volvo engines for Lexus’ LY680 Luxury Yacht

For those interested in specifications, Lexus’ LY680 Luxury Yacht is expected to be equipped with Twin Volvo IPS 1350/1050 engines and have a fuel tank capacity of 4,012 liters and a fresh water tank capacity of 852 liters. Production of the luxury yacht will be carried out by the Horizon Group, based on the Toyota Production System. Lexus has announced that yacht enthusiasts can reserve their water vehicle model through Toyota Marine sales offices in Japan and select dealerships. As of publishing, Lexus aims to deliver the first batch of the LY680 Luxury Yacht in Spring 2026, with international availability pending based on customer demand.

Jeff Bezos to David Beckham: 10 celebrity yachts that put palaces to shame

Luxurious yachts symbolise not just wealth but power too. Since celebrities — be it in entertainment, sports or business — have both, owning a yacht becomes a matter of status among these immensely affluent.

However, while some celebrities have more than one, others have never owned any. Chief among them are Beyoncé, who is known for chartering yachts, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who has previously holidayed on some yachts owned by his celebrity friends.

At the same time, some celebrities have also sold their yachts. These include Va Bene , which   was owned by Eric Clapton, while Seven Seas was sold by Steven Spielberg in 2021.

Floating palaces on the water

Celebrity yachts are similar to those owned by powerful royals or political leaders around the globe. All of them exude luxury through their design and amenities while having some of the best security systems on board.

The breathtaking interiors of a luxury yacht are designed, keeping in mind the refined tastes of the owners. Therefore, the very best furnishings and the finest materials are used in the construction of the vessels.

Everything, from swimming pools to jacuzzi and cinema halls to dance floors, are built across the length and breadth of the yachts. They also come equipped with jet skis and other toys should their guests wish to partake in water sports.

The cabins, or suites, appear like rooms of the best luxury hotels and the décor reflects the highest of artistic tastes. Meant for utmost fun, the yachts give the owner and the guests every opportunity to unwind in peace.

Here are some celebrity-owned yachts you must know about

Giorgio armani — maìn.

Armani Main yacht

The Maìn  was constructed by Codecasa in 2008 and has the rare distinction of being partly designed by its owner. However, this should not be a surprise when the owner is fashion designer Giorgio Armani — one of the greatest icons in the history of fashion.

Design is certainly a high point of the Maìn. One of the most stunning yachts in the world, it is dark green, which helps it camouflage at sea.

Armani carefully worked on the interiors of the 65-metre-long yacht along with designers Studio Dellarole and Ortelli. A minimalist colour scheme coupled with Asian aesthetics, such as Japanese-style low tables, dominates the décor across rooms and the main salon. The blinds, windows and furniture have been created by Armani and his namesake brand.

There are seven suites built to accommodate 12 guests.

Tiger Woods — Privacy

celebrity yachts

Among the most famous luxury yachts owned by celebrities, the Privacy  is known for having the legendary golfer on board on important tours.

Woods, who was in March 2022 inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, stayed on it during the 2019 PGA Championship at Long Island, the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills and the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot.

The Privacy  was purchased by Woods in 2004. At the time, he paid USD 20 million for the 48-meter-long vessel. It has five cabins for 10 guests.

Among its most attractive luxury features is a jacuzzi on the deck where up to eight guests can take a dip at a time. There is a bar and a cinema room for some winding down. A gym in the yacht helps Woods maintain his regular fitness routine when he is on board the Privacy . There is also a decompression chamber for scuba diving, jet skis, ocean kayaks and motorised scooters.

David Geffen — Rising Sun

celebrity yachts

The Rising Sun  measures 138 metres and is one of the most iconic celebrity superyachts. Built in 2004, Geffen bought it six years later from Oracle founder Larry Ellison.

The founder of Geffen Records and co-founder of DreamWorks Pictures, Geffen is a billionaire known for his love of yachts. After buying the Rising Sun , he used it to host his galaxy of friends from Hollywood’s A-list, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Chris Rock. Even Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder and one of the world’s richest men, was seen holidaying on it with his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez in 2019.

According to Esquire , Geffen paid USD 590 million for the superyacht. However, Forbes valued it at USD 570 million in 2020.

The Rising Sun was built by German shipbuilder Lürssen and styled by Seccombe Design. Its exterior features some engineering masterpieces and has the signature of Jon Bannenberg of the Bannenberg & Rowell firm.

Of the five decks, the top deck has been designed entirely for owner use. There are luxurious rooms for 18 guests. The guest cabins are crafted to provide direct access to the exterior side decks of the vessel, while the remaining are sheltered from the weather by indents. The vessel houses a spa, a gym, a helipad, a swimming platform and a double-height cinema.

The Rising Sun  can cruise easily at 26 knots and has a top speed of 30 knots.

The Edge — Cyan

In September 2021, U2’s lead guitarist The Edge and frontman Bono were seen holidaying on the Cyan in Ibiza.

The Edge, whose actual name is David Howell Evans, bought the superyacht in 2008 for a reported GBP 12 million (between USD 17-20 million at the time). It was refurbished by his wife Morleigh Steinberg the year it was purchased.

One of the most famous celebrity yachts in the world, the Cyan  was originally built in 1997 and is easily identifiable by its dark hull.

The 48.7-metre-long vessel has six luxurious cabins which can house up to 12 people. The master suite is located on the main deck.

There are many avenues for relaxation and entertainment on the yacht. Among them are a three-metre outdoor cinema screen and a movie library with more than 1,500 titles.

There are several toys for those who would like to take part in water sports. These include wakeboards, inflatables and WaveRunners. Some of these were seen when The Edge and Bono were in Ibiza.

David and Victoria Beckham — Seven

celebrity yachts

In April 2022, power couple David and Victoria Beckham were seen spending time with their children, parents and friends on board the Seven  off the coast of Miami, US. The family was vacationing ahead of the marriage of the couple’s eldest son, Brooklyn, to Nicola Peltz.

The Seven , which is named after the English footballer’s jersey number, was built in 2021. The vessel is part of the Riva 90′ Argo family of flybridge yachts.

Ferretti Engineering Department built the 28.5-metre-long vessel, while Mauro Micheli’s Studio Officina Italiana Design worked on both its interior and exterior.

Its sun lounging space is located on the foredeck. The main saloon, dubbed Crystal Palace by its makers, has large glass windows and a dark lacquered ceiling. Its aft deck is almost all glass and therefore, creates an infinity view of the sea.

Rafael Nadal — Great White

Rafael Nadal yacht

The tennis great gifted himself the yacht on his 34th birthday in 2020 and named it the Great White . It reportedly cost him USD 6.2 million.

One of the most famous yachts owned by celebrities, the 23.95-metre-long vessel was built by Sunreef Yachts in Poland and delivered to Nadal’s hometown of Mallorca, Spain. The Great White  is a fully customised Sunreef 80’ Power catamaran, which is basically a two-hull vessel.

Nadal himself worked on the interior design of the yacht. The colours beige, coffee and cream — all of which are the Spaniard’s favourites — dominate the 371.6 square metres of the living space of the yacht.

There is a large main saloon connected to the front terrace. The flybridge on the Great White  offers sun pads for guests and has a fully equipped wet bar and a barbecue. There is also a waterfall-fed spa pool.

The vessel has four guest cabins luxuriously fitted for 10 guests. Nadal’s own suite, which is on the main deck, has a private fold-out balcony and an overhead skylight.

Like other large-sized yachts, the Great White , too, comes with its own set of toys such as jet skis in its personal garage.

Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller — Eos

celebrities with luxury yachts

Measuring 93 meters, the Eos is one of the world’s largest sailing yachts. Built by Lürssen in 2006, the beautiful vessel is essentially a three-masted schooner powered by a 1,740 kW MTU engine. The yacht can attain a maximum speed of 16 knots.

Diane von Furstenberg, the Belgian fashion designer renowned for her wrap dress, and her husband Barry Diller, an American businessman, bought the Eos in 2009.

While the vessel’s classic exterior was designed by the late Bill Langan, its interiors were done by François Catroux. Although details of the yacht’s interiors are not known, guests such as American television producer Andy Cohen and CNN  anchor Anderson Cooper, along with Diller himself, have shared pictures of the same.

The pictures reveal a mix of white furniture on brown wooden panelling and a wooden staircase leading to an upper deck. In a photograph of von Furstenberg taken by Diller in 2019, the designer can be seen taking a nap on a comfy couch, with throw pillows draped in cream and navy patterned covers.

The spacious Eos can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven cabins. It also reportedly has a world map mural measuring 4.2 metres created by Hand Made Maps Ltd.

Sergey Brin — Dragonfly

The Google co-founder is believed to have bought the yacht in 2009. Named after a project that the tech giant launched to bring a censored search engine to China, the Dragonfly measures 73.3 metres and is one of the most fuel-efficient vessels at sea.

Like any other luxurious celebrity yacht, the Dragonfly  comes with amenities designed for a luxurious stay. However, it is best known, in fact widely respected, for playing a major role in disaster relief missions as part of Brin’s Global Support and Development (GSD) team, which comprises ex-military men.

According to The Daily Beast , the yacht supplied 62 metric tons of freshwater to Vanuatu when the island was hit by Hurricane Pam in 2015. It was also used to treat more than 250 patients and engaged in critical medical evacuation. The Dragonfly ’s crew helped build shelters in the villages of the island. That mission launched GSD.

Ever since, Brin has been reportedly using GSD to run relief missions around the world, including earthquake-hit Ecuador and the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas, from time to time.

As for the yacht, it was valued at USD 80 million in 2020.

Roman Abramovich — Eclipse

celebrities with luxury yachts

Abramovich, a Russian oligarch and former boss of the English Premier League club Chelsea FC, is perhaps the most famous name among superyacht owners. The Eclipse has been in his possession since he bought it for USD 590 million in 2010. Its current valuation comes to around USD 1.5 billion.

The Eclipse is, therefore, one of the most expensive celebrity yachts. Measuring 162.5 metres, the superyacht is also one of the biggest celebrity yachts.

German shipbuilder Blohm+Voss built the vessel, whose interiors were decked up by the renowned Terry Disdale of UK’s Terence Disdale Design. The beach-house style interiors showcase the finest in Art Deco.

The massive nine-deck vessel is served by around 100 crew members and can house 36 guests in its 18 über-luxurious suites. Each suite features materials such as a limed wedge, black wood with silver rubbed into the open grain, and buffalo hide. Several types of fireproof materials, such as stone, shell and fossilised wood, have also been used.

One of its many highlights is the main deck, which has a 16-metre swimming pool with a blue granite floor. At the push of a button, the pool rises to deck level and turns into a dance floor. The pool is designed in a way that guests can relax comfortably around it in an indoor setting, with glass panels closing off the sides.

Another attractive location is the rear lounge on the lower deck. The cosy setting offers one of the best views of the water while enjoying the luxurious comforts of the vessel.

Among the other amenities are a deck jacuzzi, a beauty salon, a tender garage and an exterior fireplace. The lobbies are decorated with artwork specially commissioned for the Eclipse .

The superyacht can carry three helicopters. It has two helipads — one at the foredeck and another at the sundeck. Below one of the helipads is a hangar for the third.

The Eclipse is also a high-tech yacht known for its missile detection system and bulletproof windows protecting the master suite. A submarine within the vessel is powerful enough to dive to a depth of around 50 metres.

Jeff Bezos — Y721

Multiple media reports in February 2022 indicated that Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos has commissioned one of the world’s largest yachts.

Measuring 127 metres, the huge vessel has been dubbed Y721 and will reportedly cost Bezos around USD 500 million. It is being built by Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The vessel will have three decks and three massive masts, which makes it similar to the sailing yacht Eos  owned by Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller. Once ready, the Y721 will host 18 guests besides crew members. It can also accommodate jet skis and other smaller boats along with a helicopter.

Which celebrity has the most expensive and biggest yacht?

Among all the celebrities in the world, the most expensive and biggest yacht belongs to Roman Abramovich. That superyacht is named Eclipse .

Which celebrity owns more than one or most number of yachts?

Besides the Eclipse , Abramovich is also the owner of the Solaris and the Sussurro, both of which are superyachts. The Russian billionaire has previously owned a number of yachts, making him perhaps the owner of the highest numbers of mega yachts in a lifetime.

Does Jeff Bezos own a yacht?

Currently, Bezos doesn’t own any yacht, but he will once the Y721 is ready for sailing.

Which celebrity spends most of the time on yachts?

Tiger Woods appears to be one of those who loves yachts more than land. He is known to have used his vessel, Privacy , as his stay at many major tournaments near the coast.

I spent 2 nights at the Fontainebleau, the hottest new hotel in Las Vegas, and was blown away by its luxury food court

  • The Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel is ushering in a new era of luxury in Sin City.
  • It even offers a luxury food court with eight different restaurants.
  • I tried nearly all of them and was blown away by the elevated bagels, pizza, and sandwiches.

Insider Today

From the 55,000-square-foot spa to the $5,000-a-night VIP suites , luxury is everywhere at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas — even the food court.

I recently spent two nights at the hottest new hotel in Sin City and was blown away by the Fontainebleau's elevated spin on quick and casual dining.

From sushi by Michelin-starred chefs to one of the best pizzas I've ever had, here's everything I ate.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the buzziest new resort in Sin City.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas was packed with A-list celebrities when I stayed at the hotel during Super Bowl weekend , attracting everyone from Beyoncé and Jay-Z to Leonardo DiCaprio and Lady Gaga.

The 67-story hotel has 3,644 rooms, with rates starting at $300 a night, unless you're staying in one of the exclusive Fleur de Lis suites. There's also a 150,000-square-foot casino, a 14-000-square-foot gym, and LIV, the brand-new nightclub.

And we haven't even gotten to the food.

The hotel has 36 restaurants, many of which offer extravagant dishes.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas features a wide variety of dining options, paying homage to the hotel's Miami roots by bringing in hot spots like Papi Steak, KYU, and Komodo. It's also smartly nabbed the second location for super buzzy names like Mother Wolf and Contramar.

You can get a $1,000 55-ounce Wagyu tomahawk steak, a $400-per-person omakase experience, or a $265 golden chicken covered in black truffles and foie gras. But fine dining isn't the only kind that Fontainebleau offers.

Promenade is the Fontainebleau's luxury food court.

Described on the Fontainebleau's website as a "vibrant gourmet adventure," Promenade offers six different restaurants. There's everything from pizza and bagels to sandwiches and tacos, plus Michelin-starred sushi and celebrity-chef burgers.

I visited Promenade three times with my boyfriend during our Fontainebleau stay, and we tried nearly every restaurant. We even bumped into DJ John Summit, who has a residency at LIV and told us the Promenade is his favorite place to eat at the resort.

Now I understand why.

Since we'd had an early flight, we started our luxury food court experience with some gourmet bagels.

Promenade is home to El Bagel , a popular Miami-based spot specializing in hand-rolled bagels.

The menu features five different egg sandwiches, including a classic bacon, egg, and cheese, and options with smoked pastrami or a maple sausage patty. They range in price from $10 to $15.

There are also nine different sandwiches, including the Lox Supreme, King Guava — which features a fried egg with guava marmalade — and a BLT with bacon, tomato paste, and pickled mustard seeds. Prices range from $6 to $18, but there's also the $130 "Baller Bagel" — with an ounce of Osetra caviar — if you're feeling really fancy.

First up was the Pastrami Classico on a sesame bagel.

The $18 Pastrami Classico is made with 18-hour smoked pastrami, swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Thousand Island dressing.

I've been on the hunt for a phenomenal pastrami bagel ever since I tried the Reubenstein sandwich at Yeastie Boys (if you live in LA, do yourself a favor and get this immediately). El Bagel's Pastrami Classico comes close to the Reubenstein's greatness with its deliciously tender and smoky pastrami, which was nicely balanced by the fluffy sesame bagel, bright coleslaw, and tangy Thousand Island dressing.

This tasted like a luxury bagel — no caviar required.

Next up was the Las Tardes, which we ordered on an everything bagel.

The $14 Las Tardes bagel features thin-sliced turkey, plain cream cheese, tomato jam, and sprouts.

The everything bagel was perfectly seasoned, with a fantastic salty crunch that paired well with the delicious turkey and tomato jam. But there was a bit too much cream cheese, which made for some cloying bites combined with the turkey. I think the sandwich would've worked better with scallion cream cheese instead, which could add some more depth to the overall flavor.

But I was impressed by El Bagel overall. It delivers a fun and elevated twist on the breakfast classic, and I plan to visit again next time I'm in Miami or Vegas.

For lunch, we decided to try Miami Slice.

Promenade at the Fontainebleau is the second location for Miami Slice , which serves artisan NY-style slices in downtown Miami.

The menu features five flavors — Margherita De La Casa, Pepperoni Proper, La Salsera, Leeks on Bacon, and Mushroom Truffle — ranging in price from $8 to $10 a slice. There are also extras on offer, including hot honey, stracciatella, and a three-cheese dip.

It ended up being one of the best places we ate at during our trip.

Our dinners in Sin City included gourmet steak, Peking duck, and golden chicken, but the place we still talk about most was Miami Slice. And that's not to say all of the above wasn't extremely delicious — we just couldn't get enough of this pizza. Nothing fills the heart faster than a sublime slice.

The $9 Pepperoni Proper — which features red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and hot honey — had a crispy, flaky crust that was light as air and tasted incredible. It also had the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese, ensuring the mozzarella didn't overpower the luscious red sauce.

It's hard to beat the power-couple combo of sweet and spicy hot honey with salty pepperoni, but the $9 La Salsera slice was even better. The slice — which features a trio of red sauce, vodka sauce, and pesto — blew me away with its dance of flavors.

"The vodka with pesto is a dream," I wrote in my notes after a few bites. "Everything is perfect about it."

My boyfriend and I agreed it was one of the best slices of pizza we've had — period.

When we needed a quick dinner, we stopped by Bar Ito.

Bar Ito is a sister concept to ITO , the NYC omakase restaurant by Michelin-starred chefs Kevin Kim and Masa Ito. There's also a second new ITO location in Poodle Room, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas' exclusive members-only club on the top floor of the resort.

While a night at ITO's 12-seat omakase counter costs $400 a person, Bar Ito offers handrolls and sashimi at a much cheaper price tag. Bowls range from $10 to $22, with options including salmon, eggplant, and wagyu. There are also eight different temaki flavors — including lobster, spicy scallop, hamachi, and roast shiitake — with the option to purchase either three handrolls for $33 or five for $50.

We got the three-for-$33 deal, opting for spicy tuna, salmon, and toro. The rolls — which came packaged in a cute box with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce — were kept simple. The spicy tuna was paired with cucumber, the salmon with avocado, and the toro with scallions. It allowed the high-quality fish in each temaki to shine and was the perfect fresh dinner we were craving after a day at Gronk Beach, Rob Gronkowski's annual Super Bowl pool party . The $8 miso mushroom soup is also a must.

Our last meal at Promenade was sandwiches from Nona.

Nona had caught my eye when we first walked through Promenade, so I made sure to grab us some sandwiches before our trip back to LA.

The menu features seven sandwiches ranging in price from $15 to $18, with flavors including spicy chicken, hot salami, tri-tip dip, turkey, meatball, Italian, and vegetarian.

Our massive sandwiches were packed to the brim with fresh ingredients.

We first tried The Bird, a $16 sandwich with roasted turkey, mayonnaise, brie, bacon, guacamole, pickled red onions, and escarole, all on a toasted roll.

The sandwich was bursting with so much delicious and unexpected flavor. Turkey and brie is a classic pair, but the pickled red onions and guacamole infused them with a creamy and tangy brightness. I loved the crispy bite of the bacon and the excellent crust on the fluffy roll. We ate this sandwich on a very grim bus ride back to LA after deciding to stay an extra night in Vegas for Super Bowl Sunday, and it's truly the only thing that kept us sane.

After getting home at 1 a.m., we dug into The Italian. The $18 sandwich, also on a toasted roll, features Italian ham, Calabrese salami, baby Swiss, roasted peppers, olive relish, Parmigiano Reggiano, arugula, and basil.

I thought it'd be impossible to beat The Bird, yet The Italian does so easily. It stays true to its name with an intoxicating combination of high-quality meats and cheeses, while the mixture of roasted peppers, arugula, and basil peppered each bite with a sweet and herby freshness. If The Bird kept us sane, The Italian brought us back to life.

Who knew a food court could be so powerful?
