Rebel 50G, the superyacht-like luxury Maxi Rib
Making its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023, Rebel 50G is the latest addition to the Sacs Tecnorib range and is destined to conquer the hearts of luxury Maxi Rib enthusiasts. The Principality’s showcase was the best chance to present this new jewel, since it is the reference event not only for superyachts , but also for large inflatables that are suitable for comfortable few-day cruises or for use as megayacht tenders. Precisely for this reason Sacs Tecnorib chose the wonderful setting of Port Hercule to exhibit, from 27 to 30 September, the flagship model of the Rebel range, designed by Christian Grande to overturn the rules of boating, combining the sportiness of Maxi Ribs with the elegance of yachts and giving birth to models with unprecedented, muscular yet sophisticated lines. Together with the Rebel 50G, the Rebel 47 and the new Strider 11 were also put on display.
Rebel 50G, the Maxi Rib for unforgettable adventures
Rebel 50G is the new model in the Rebel range, which Sacs Tecnorib has designed to trace a new footprint in the pursuit of life on board as the perfect meeting point with a sense of adventure. Just looking at this splendid Maxi Rib opens the imagination to the possibility of reaching unexplored bays in no time at all; doing the rest is the highly sophisticated design, reminiscent of mega-yachts in its details and materials.
Rebel 50G features the typical stylistic features of the Sacs Tecnorib brand, but it is also an unconventional design, standing between the classic rib market and the open boat market, with a transition emphasized by the tapered foam profiles and enhanced by the side glazing. A key feature of this inflatable lies in fact in the two side windows flush with the hard-top , which define a hybrid deck space between cockpit and saloon. Moreover, a rear glass door is available as an option, in order to completely separate the interior and exterior and thus reconcile the usability of an open with the main advantages of a cruiser: comfort when underway and protection from adverse environmental conditions.
The exterior spaces of the Rebel 50G feature four different layouts, all characterized by a walkaround configuration and large spaces for improved conviviality. Below decks, on the other hand, two options are available, with one or two cabins, guaranteeing ample stowage space, excellent volumes and great privacy. Power comes from two Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines of 725 hp each which allow the Rebel 50G to reach a maximum speed and a cruising speed of 36 and 28 knots respectively.
Rebel 47 and Strider 11, the other two Ribs on display in Monaco
As mentioned above, alongside the Rebel 50G, Sacs Tecnorib also exhibited the Rebel 47 and Strider 11 at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. The former, redesigned by Christian Grande at the beginning of 2023 and presented at the last Düsseldorf Show, is a luxury day-cruiser with a modern design and smaller foam tubulars that make the exteriors more sinuous and elegant. The main deck offers a large dining area with a cocktail cabinet, sink, drawers, refrigerator, and dining table with teak flap, as well as a relaxation area with sofas and sundeck, while below deck there are two double cabins with a super queen-size bed, sofa, and bookshelves. Innovations include a carbon hard-top, a wider and more rounded front window that increases visibility from the helm station, a reduced beam to fit within the 4-metre width that is an advantage when docking in port and, finally, a new range of metallic paint finishes.
The Strider 11 , on the other hand, is the new model in the iconic Strider series, available in two versions, Sun Deck and Open Back.
The owner can choose the engine option that best suits his or her needs, the maximum speed is 47 knots and the capacity is 14 passengers. The Sun Deck version provides a full-beam sundeck in the aft area, while the Open Back version has a sofa for six. The telescopic central element can be lowered and the entire area can become a sundeck in turn. There are two berths (plus a further two optional ones in the Sun Deck version) and the interior, light and enveloping, is characterized by an elegant oak essence.

Exploring the Rebel 50 G Yacht From Sacs Tecnorib
Rebel rebel..
- Writer Craig Ritchie
Italian sport yacht builders have enjoyed a long and glorious history of turning out fresh, emotive, and exhilarating designs that blend comfort and performance. It’s a heritage that lives on in some of today’s most exciting launches, including the brilliant Rebel 50 G from Sacs Tecnorib .
Sporting a stunning design by Christian Grande, the Rebel 50 G builds on the company’s heritage of building high-performance, rigid-hull inflatable boats, applying lessons learned over decades on the high seas to the fresh hard-hull designs that represent its new Rebel series. Unveiled at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, the Rebel 50 G quickly established itself as the belle of the ball. That Monaco crowd isn’t easy to impress, so it’s worth taking a closer look.
Step aboard at the stern, and the Rebel’s focus on fun without limitations quickly becomes obvious. The swim platform is enormous, illustrating this yacht’s playful intentions. The Rebel is clearly a boat with a youthful spirit, made for active owners who plan to spend their time on the water doing more than just taking in the sun.
That said, a bit of time soaking up some natural vitamin D is never a bad thing, especially after a refreshing dip or checking out the local sea life with a mask and snorkel. A stern-facing sun lounge provides the perfect spot to indulge while enjoying panoramic views. It also neatly conceals the yacht’s tender garage.
The forward face of the sun pad is configured as an enticing settee, protected by an overhead hard top and a powered extendable sunscreen to neatly blend the outdoor space with the salon immediately ahead. The entire aft end of the salon is wide open, which, combined with the louvred overhead sunroof and opening side glazings, lets the fresh sea air circulate throughout, yet when cruising in cooler weather, closing the roof and side windows keeps everyone well protected from the chilly air.
The huge side windows and louvred overhead create a bright and attractive salon space, where an L-shaped settee surrounds a beautiful wood table. To port, an attractive galley station and wet bar serve the area well with a sink, fridge, and ice maker.
Below decks, the Rebel 50 G comes equipped with a twin guest cabin, a spacious head, an appealing lower salon for late-night lounging, and a delightful owner’s suite forward. Large side glazings flood the spaces with natural light while affording appropriate privacy, while generous headroom keeps the lower deck from ever feeling tight.
The height of the lower deck is neatly hidden to the outside world, with the yacht’s bow concealing the high ceiling with a delightful forward sun lounge—wide enough for three, like the stern pad—preceded by a pair of forward-facing loungers in the far-forward bow. Accessed by wide side promenades, the bow is an attractive, intimate space for enjoying the sea views or admiring the sunsets.
On the other side of the sharply raked windscreen lies the helm, with its multiple touch screen displays, twin sport bucket seats, and sport steering wheel. It looks like something straight out of a private jet : neat, polished, and straight to the point, with every possible bit of engine, operational or navigational data instantly available at the flick of a fingertip.
As for performance, Sacs Tecnorib might as well be an Italian euphemism for “get there quickly,” and that’s evident in the Rebel 50 G. Twin Volvo Penta IPS 950 pod-drive eco diesels churn out a staggering 1,400 horsepower combined, giving the big Rebel a cruising speed of 28 knots and a top speed of 36. Combined with the yacht’s performance hull, the result is jaw-dropping acceleration and the kind of nimble handling one expects from a Sea-Doo, rather than a luxury yacht.
With its unique blend of elegance and performance, Sacs Tecnorib’s Rebel 50 G will evoke the rebellious spirit in all of us.

Christian Grande has been busy of late. The designer’s fingerprints were all over the stylish Invictus TT420 Vogue White Edition that made its debut at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival—the same boat show where the SACS Tecnorib Rebel 50 G that Grande designed also made its premiere.
SACS Tecnorib is the official licensee of Pirelli inflatable boats (Pirelli Design is involved with everything from boats and watches to high-end audio systems and luggage). SACS Tecnorib offers two lines: the Strider , whose models can be open or have a hardtop, and Rebel, which the builder calls a blend of classic RIBs and open boats. The Rebel line includes 40-, 47- and 55-footers in addition to the new Rebel 50 G.
The “G” in the moniker Rebel 50 G stands for nothing more than the letter “G.” The idea is that it’s a “closed, collected and powerful shape with soft curves,” which the builder compares to having a closed space on board that’s in “total continuity with the external environment.” The boat has a window that Grande says “seems deliberately suspended to suggest an enthralling sensation of floating,” with the closed space distinguishing this model from other Rebel designs.
In addition to the two side windows that come standard, owners can add a sliding rear window that separates the interior and exterior. When it’s open, the boat feels like an open boat; with it closed, everyone on board is protected from bad weather.
Creature comforts include a TV abaft the helm, a fridge and ice maker, and an L-shaped sofa with a high-low table that can be used for dining if chairs are added. More shade is possible with an extendable electric-roller blind, or owners can insert carbon poles around the beach area to create a space that’s sheltered from the sun. A roof is optional.
Forward, the bow has a corner chaise that the builder describes as “romantic” for sunset views. Grande says: “This area is intended to be an invitation to see motoring as a relaxed flight over water.”
The stern platform can handle an 8-foot tender, with the aft space available in four layouts. The one called Garage Sunpad has a long sofa for relaxation. The Forward Lounge version comes with a C-shaped sofa and extendable table for dining or for conversion as a sun bed. Stern Lounge has opposing sofas that can join together with a table for dining. Free Standing has three armchairs and two small tables for informal conversation.
Interiors are finished with Ceppo di Gre marble, which has a gray-blue hue that the builder says creates an ambience of “unostentatious elegance.”
Let’s talk power: Hull No. 1 of the SACS Tecnorib Rebel 50 G has a pair of 950-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS power plants with a reported top speed of 36 knots, and a cruising speed of 28 knots.

Rebel 50 G Yacht: A Fusion of Comfort and Style on Sea
Per its namesake, the Rebel 50 G , represents its creator’s desire to rebel and create something new. Designer Christian Grande has offered us a special look at his upcoming 50-foot yacht from Sacs Technorib.
First, this creative journey takes us through a sweeping sundeck. The Rebel 50 G is alive with a “romantic soul” and an emphasis on leisure. Sweeping sliding glass doors on either side offer continuity between the ship and the sea. The open space provides the advantages of a cruising boat and comfort in bad weather.
Creator Christian Grande said, “This model, as the name implies, rebels against the classic ideas that want inflatable boats and open boats as entities with distinct souls,” explains Christian Grande. “The identity of the rib remains, but on board, we have recreated the large spaces typical of boats. To do this, I worked on the volumes, ‘playing’ with key elements such as the generous tube, which allowed us to raise the topsides, stretching the overall mass, thus generating unusual habitability on a 50-footer, while maintaining the safety features in maneuvering and mooring that the tube ensures.”
There are two rooming configurations available. The first, called Living, features a single large cabin midship. The bow extends into a living room with a table, long sofas, and a bar.
The other configuration has two cabins; a master cabin in the bow with a double bed, and a VIP cabin in the middle of the ship. Two beds slide out electronically and can combine into one queen-sized bed.
The exterior curves and understated stingray color scheme, with undertones of orange and sparkling blues, impress a refined grey-blue hue across the Rebel 50 G.
Interiors and countertops are furnished with sustainable Ceppo di Gre marble. The outside features shiny materials with side hull glazing.
The Rebel 50 G is designed to impress an intimate group of guests. The cockpit sofas have seats as deep as 60cm, creating a sense of maximum comfort. Every inch of the Rebel 50 G redefines maximum comfort to create a home away from home. This home cruises at 28 knots with a top speed of 36 knots. Stay tuned with Jetset Magazine for more information closer to the Rebel 50 G’s release.
REBEL 50 G, The evolution of the species
The latest 50-footer designed by Christian Grande breaks the mould, positioning itself between the classic rib market and the open boat market. With its characterising tapered foam profiles, the design is emphasised by side hull glazing, which gives it a distinctive and contemporary touch.
To rebel against the rules to create something that is unique and innovative-from this desire stems Rebel 50 G, the latest design by Christian Grande for the Italian shipyard Sacs Tecnorib.
“This model, as the name implies, rebels against the classic ideas that want inflatable boats and open boats as entities with distinct souls, ”explains Christian Grande. “The identity of the rib remains, but on board we have recreated the large spaces typical of boats. To do this, I worked on the volumes, ‘playing’ with key elements such as the generous tube, which allowed us to raise the topsides stretching the overall mass, thus generating an unusual habitability on a 50-footer, while maintaining the safety features in manoeuvring and mooring that the tube ensures.”
Christian Grande created a special hull window, designed to light the interiors in a unique and unexpected way and make the Rebel 50 G different from the very first time you look at it. “It is a portion of glass that seems deliberately suspended, hinting at an enthralling floating sensation,” says Christian Grande.
The glass panel, which creates an enclosed and protected space, is what distinguishes this model from all others in the same range: the letter “G”, with its closed, collected, powerful yet softly curved shape, refers to the possibility of creating an enclosed space in perfect continuity with the outside environment. In addition to the two side windows, a sliding rear window can also be added to completely separate the interior from the exterior and combine the usability of an open space with the main advantages of a cruising boat, offering comfortable settings when sailing and protection in bad weather.
“The Rebel 50 G is a revolutionary model, where the revolution also lies in the interpretation of the needs of a very demanding owner. An owner who wants to stand out, but at the same time wants to enjoy ample space onboard and comfortable solutions,” continues Christian Grande. “This is why all the furniture elements, even on the deck, have the proportions of home design items. The cockpit sofas, for example, have seats as deep as 60 centi-metres, just like you might find in your living room at home or on a maxi yacht.”
The walkaround configuration, which also provides great security when walking on board, and the large stern and bow sundecks further enhance the very convivial nature of this design. The bow offers a large sundeck and is characterised as the boat area with the most romantic soul, thanks to a corner with a chaise longue, ideal for admiring the view. “This area is meant to be an invitation to perceive sailing as a relaxed flight overwater,” comments Christian Grande.
Relaxation and conviviality, always in areas with a design that aims to enhance the concept of comfort, is what we also find below deck, where ceiling heights exceed two metres. Christian Grande conceived two possible layouts, both with ample storage space, generous volumes and great privacy. The first configuration has two cabins: a master cabin in the bow (with a double bed) and a VIP cabin amidships, where two 90-centimetre wide bed scan electrically slide and be joined if necessary. The second layout ,called Living, offers a single large cabin amidships, while the bow is furnished as a comfortable and cosy living room with long sofas, a table and a bar cabinet. In both configurations, the dimensions of the bathroom, typical of much larger vessels, are a distinguishing feature.
The furnishings are made with Ceppo di Gre’ marble, a porous natural stone with a refined grey-blue hue that is unusual on a 50-footer. With this marble it was possible to create an elegant, unostentatious atmosphere, characterised by natural and not excessively shiny materials, with a strong physical presence that invites touching.
“The Rebel 50 G is aware of its own being and expressiveness, with an almost zoomorphic body, with features that create muscular-looking surfaces and immediately give off a feeling of power, ”concludes the Italian designer. “Sculpted geometries that must be an expression of power and endurance. If I had opted for a more minimalist design, I would not have been able to communicate all this. But, at the same time, it is a graceful model that does not need aggressive colours to give itself character. Itis no coincidence that the first model has a brand new colour, called Stingray, which vibrates between grey and powdery tones.”

The Monaco Yacht Show is the most eagerly awaited nautical event for two segments of the industry: on the one hand, luxury ribs, versatile products that are suitable for quick, comfortable trips or even as tenders for mega yachts; on the other hand, super yacht manufacturers.
For this reason, Sacs Tecnorib has chosen the stunning setting of Port Hercule to exhibit two cutting-edge models of the Rebel range from the 27th to the 30th of September. Designed by Christian Grande to subvert the rules of boating, the lineup combines the sportiness of maxiribs with the elegance of yachts, giving rise to models with unprecedented and muscular yet refined lines.
The star of the Monaco Boat Show will be the Rebel 50 G, a new model in the range designed to chart a new course for life on board as the perfect balance between adventure, promising to reach unexplored bays quickly, and refined design, reminiscent of mega yachts in its details and materials.
The Rebel 50 G is the result of the collaboration between the shipyard and designer Christian Grande, carrying the brand’s signature stylistics over to an unconventional project, positioned between the classic rib market and the open boat market, a transition emphasised by the tapered foam profiles and the side glazing.
A fundamental feature of the Rebel 50 G follows from the side windows, which lie flush with the hard-top to create a hybrid deck space between the cockpit and lounge. Rear glazing is also available to completely separate the interior and exterior, leaning into the 50 G’s open boat identity while integrating the main advantages of a cruiser, such as comfort on the water and protection from adverse weather conditions.
The exterior spaces are proposed with four different layouts that are all walkaround with large, convivial spaces. The choice is offered between one or two cabins below deck, complete with ample storage space, voluminous corridors and excellent privacy.
Powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 950 pods of 725 hp each, the Rebel 50 G can reach a top speed of 36 knots, with a cruising speed of 28 knots.
Alongside the 50 G in Monaco, Sacs Tecnorib is presenting the Rebel 47, redesigned by Christian Grande for its premiere at the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show. This luxury cruiser, characterised by modern design, features compact foam-filled tubes for a more sinuous and elegant aesthetic. The main deck features a large dining area, complete with bar cabinet, sink, drawers, refrigerator, and a dining table with teak extensions, in addition to a relaxation area with sofas and sunpads, while two double cabins, each with a super queen-size bed, sofa and bookshelves are found below deck.
The innovations on board include a carbon hard-top, a larger and more rounded front window that increases visibility from the helm station, a reduced beam to fit within the 4-metre width that is an advantage when docking in port and, finally, a new selection of metallic paint finishes.
Also on display is the Strider 11, the latest iteration of an icon in the Strider series, available in two versions: Sun Deck and Open Back.
The engines can be chosen according to the owner’s needs. The maximum speed is 47 knots, and it can accommodate 14 passengers. The aft area in the Sun Deck version offers a full-beam sunpad, while the Open Back version features a six-person sofa. The telescopic central element can be lowered and the entire area can become a sunpad as well. There are two berths, plus an additional two available with the Sun Deck version, with bright and enveloping interiors in oak.
Sacs Tecnorib will attend the Monaco Yacht Show from the 27th to the 30th of September 2023 at stand C03, QUAI CHICANE

All cabins are uniquely situated above deck, promising large windows that draw in the spectacular ocean views. Each cabin features a natural teak floor, airy 7 ft-high (or more) ceilings, and an en-suite bathroom with tailor-made fittings and abundant hot water. Furthermore, each cabin includes air-con, WiFi, universal electrical sockets, a minibar, as well as ample storage and work spaces. Three of the five cabins also come equipped with their own flat screen TV with hundreds of movies.
The Upper Deck’s Master Suite with a king-size bed opens onto a private balcony where lounge chairs allow private sun worshipping. There is another double cabin on the Upper Deck, while the other three cabins can be found on the Main Deck, including one furnished with bunk beds – perfect for kids.
Life On Board
Both Rebel & Rascal yachts boast four spacious decks, each evoking a laid-back luxe vibe reminiscent of the Hamptons. The shaded foredeck by the Bridge on the Upper Deck offers front row seats to spectacular views from their daybeds and deck-chairs. The Main Deck’s saloon-lounge is an ideal place to kick back and relax with a drink or two before stepping out onto the alfresco dining area on the aft deck – similarly shaded from the sun – equipped with a surround sound music system, and optimally placed for panoramic views, and that refreshing sea breeze.
For unrivaled views, head to the vast 1280-sqft infinity Roof Deck; an ideal space for sunbathing, yoga, meditation, and admiring the passing scenery and incredible sunsets whilst sampling the daily sunset canapés served here. The more adventurous might even jump off the yacht from here!
The yachts’ pared back beach chic is elevated with excellent hospitality provided by the experienced crew of eleven including a Western cruise director, a dive guide and a talented private chef. The latter two are on hand to provide cooking classes and diving certification upon request. Similarly yoga classes and massages can be arranged upon request for those that wish to take their relaxation to the next level.
Two additional features on the Rebel yacht that aren’t available on Rascal are her wine cellar and cinema under the stars. The specially crafted wine cellar stocks a wide selection of old and new world wines, perfect for enjoying whilst dining or indeed catching a star-studded movie under starlit skies. Wifi is available on both vessels for those who don’t wish to fully disconnect.

Top quality ingredients are hand-picked by your on-board chef from local markets, and meals are lovingly prepared combining Indonesian, Asian and Western flavors. There is also a range of freshly pressed juices and a fully-stocked indoor bar, complete with a specially-commissioned cocktail list tended by a professional barman. U.S. Couple Vanish from Yacht in the Caribbean: ‘It Looked Like a Robbery, or Something Much Worse’
Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry are presumed dead. The three fugitives believed to be connected to their case have been arrested but are not formally charged
A catamaran captain was paddle-boarding along the St. Vincent shore when he came across a ransacked yacht with a broken, unrolled sail last month.
“It was not a very typical place to drop anchor,” Bernat Buj tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview in the latest issue, on newsstands Friday. “And that caught my attention.”
Concerned, he boarded Simplicity , calling out three times in the hope of finding someone on board.
There was “a great mess throughout the ship, and I thought it was the scene of a robbery,” Buj says. “But when I entered a cabin and saw blood, I thought it could be something much worse .”
Bernat Buj, captain of Two Oceans catamaran
He found two American passports belonging to Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry .
Kathy – a retired real estate agent who would have turned 71 on Feb. 21 – and Ralph – a 66-year-old financial advisor who worked from their yacht – had been cruising in Grenada when they suddenly stopped communicating with family on Feb. 18, according to their sons, who stayed in touch with PEOPLE throughout the search for their parents .

For more on the unfolding case of the missing American sailors in the Caribbean, subscribe now to PEOPLE , or pick up this week's issue, on newsstands Friday.
After finding the couple’s abandoned yacht – 80 miles from their last reported mooring – in Wallilabou Bay, St. Vincent, the captain reported the "unoccupied sailing vessel" to the local Coast Guard Service Feb. 21.
“The entire interior of the vessel and its decks were ransacked,” the Coast Guard’s commanding officer wrote in an internal memorandum – obtained by PEOPLE – to the country's police commissioner.
Missing from the internal correspondence was the working theory between police forces in Grenada and St. Vincent that three Grenadian inmates who had escaped their holding cell the same day the couple went missing, had allegedly hijacked their yacht and thrown them overboard en route to St. Vincent.
The three fugitives – sailor Ron Mitchell, 30, Abita Stanislaus, 25, and Trevon Robertson, 19 – who had been arrested for a violent robbery in December, were re-apprehended on St. Vincent on Feb. 21.

Video of one arrest, published by local media, includes shouts of “Gun! Gun! Gun!” and an escapee in his underwear, blood streaming down his legs as an official rounds him into the back of a pick-up truck.
An insider close to the investigation alleges to PEOPLE that at least two of the men have confessed to Ralph’s and Kathy’s murders.
The men, who were deported to Grenada on March 4, have not been officially charged in the case. Although the couple’s bodies have not been found, they are presumed dead.
Buj says he is still holding out hope. “I wish this story could have a happy ending,” he says.

Chuck liddell explains viral yacht mishap, here's what happened, chuck liddell explains viral yacht mishap ... here's what happened, exclusive 76 3/9/2024 12:40 am pt.
Chuck Liddell is finally addressing what led to him going overboard on a Lamborghini yacht last month ... telling TMZ Sports it was a simple whoopsie-daisy moment.
The Iceman turned into Aquaman during a recent trip to San Diego ... falling off the side of the luxurious watercraft in front of all his peers -- requiring some serious assistance to get out of the water.
Liddell chalked the fall up to his animated hand gestures while talking ... and once he lost his balance, he only had two options -- hit the deck or aim for the H20.
Of course, Liddell chose the latter ... and in his opinion, that was the best way to avoid getting hurt.
The former UFC superstar says he's a pro when it comes to boats ... and he's pretty adventurous at sea, even doing flips off top decks of much bigger vessels in the past.
As for how he's doing, Liddell says he's completely fine ... so everyone can relax.
In fact, he tells us he's heading to Miami ... and chances are he'll be back on the water again.

‘Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire’ Review: Zack Snyder’s Sci-Fi Epic Knocks Off ‘Star Wars’ and a Dozen Other Sources
He got the Snyder cut from the outset, but this lavishly scaled rebels-vs.-the-empire interplanetary action fable is at once eminently watchable and insanely derivative.

Despite cries for other “Snyder cuts,” Warner Bros. wasn’t about to let a big-money maverick like Snyder back into the vaults. But Netflix, a studio streamer that never met a director it couldn’t throw a zillion dollars at, along with the words “Please let the film run on as long as you’d like,” rolled out the red carpet for Snyder to make “ Rebel Moon ,” a four-and-a-half-hour interplanetary sci-fi action spectacular that’s being released in two parts. “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire” will be given a limited theatrical run starting Dec. 15, before it drops on Netflix one week later. “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” is set to be released on April 19, 2024. (And — surprise! — longer R-rated versions of both films will be available to stream on Netflix at a later date.)
The story begins on Veldt, a moon of what looks like a fusion of Jupiter and Saturn (the planet looms in the background like a weirdly artificial piece of wallpaper), where Kora is part of a hearty community of medieval farmers who live in the shadow of the Motherworld. The Motherworld’s king and queen have been assassinated and replaced by vicious autocrats, who want to crush the pocket of insurgents known as the Bloodaxes. The good farmers of Veldt have sold some of their grain to the Bloodaxes, and early on they’re invaded by a Motherworld brigade led by Atticus Noble, an evil admiral who specializes in face-to-face terrorism. The British actor Ed Skrein, in his fascist-with-bangs haircut, is the best thing in the movie. He’s like Rami Malek playing Jim Carrey as Darth Vader as a Nazi out of “Cabaret.”
Kora has a thorny and rather turgid backstory (after her family was killed, she was adopted as a daughter by the Motherworld’s ominous overseer). But now, as a resident of Veldt, it’s up to her to travel to distant planets — a great many of them — to gather up…a fellowship of rebel fighters! The movie is episodic in the extreme. Here’s another planet, here’s another Colorful Character to recruit for the team, here’s another slow-mo interlude of ultraviolent combat.
Snyder, who shot the film himself, stages it on an impressively lavish scale (all the CGI sprawl a budget of $166 million can buy), and a handful of the episodes are fun, like one where the noble hunk Tarak (Staz Nair) frees himself from indentured servitude by harnassing a giant blackbird who’s like a Ray Harryhausen creature. Sofia Boutella, as Kora, holds the film together with her dour ferocity, and Djimon Hounsou (as the fallen but still noble General Titus), Charlie Hunnam (as the mercenary starship pilot Kai), and Anthony Hopkins (as the voice of Jimmy the droid, who’s like C-3PO with more acting talent) make their presence felt. Yet “Rebel Moon,” while eminently watchable, is a movie built so entirely out of spare parts that it may, in the end, be for Snyder cultists only.

Rebel 47. When the SACS Rebel 47 was launched in 2016, everyone tried to put a label on it as a superyacht tender, a walk-around maxi-RIB, a runabout, an open sport hybrid, a crossover, and so on. Seven years later, the latest iteration of the design which was on display at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, still defies simplistic classification.
To rebel against the rules to create something that is unique and innovative-from this desire stems Rebel 50 G, the latest design by Christian Grande for the Italian shipyard Sacs Tecnorib. "This model, as the name implies, rebels against the classic ideas that want inflatable boats and open boats as entities with distinct souls, "explains ...
The Rebel 50G is different to the previous Sacs, bringing a fully enclosed rib yacht with walk-around bulwarks like never seen before were Christian Grande design shines through as sophisticated and modern. The Rebel 50G comes also with important choices for the buyer, with two options for the lower deck, and four options to its aft deck.
