We had such an amazing time on the Sweet Liberty yesterday! We booked the 3 hour Shelling Cruise and it was perfect. We lucked out with a sunny day after so many days of rain, and the ride to Keywaddin Island was smooth and easy. We were amazed with the amount of amazing shells that were there and genuinely could have spent all day searching through - this is such an amazing family activity. Plus, the crew was so nice and helpful! Definitely will be returning.

Took the sunset cruise on Sweet Liberty. It was $40 per adult and well worth it! The trip was on a 53' catamaran. They said it was the largest sailing catamaran in southwest Florida. For those interested, it did contain two onboard restrooms. We could bring our own cooler with food and wine or beer. Which, of course, we did. They had seating inside and out. We sat outside on the bow and really enjoyed the view. The trip to and from the Gulf of Mexico was about 40 minutes each way. The crew provided great and informative narrative as we headed to the Gulf ... from explaining the nautical signs, to the wild life to who owned which million dollar home we were passing. Once in the Gulf, they raised the sails and we sailed along side dolphins and watched a beautiful sunset. The crew was fabulous. Friendly, informative and carrying about our safety. I'd highly recommend a trip on Sweet Liberty. It's well worth the time and money!

This was the most relaxing group boating experience I've ever been on. The crew was so down to earth, calm and helpful. There was no attempt to make this anything more than just a relaxing sunset cruise - which is EXACTLY what I wanted it to be. The sunset over the Gulf did not disappoint. There were a couple of dolphin viewings. It was just an excellent two hours. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Naples and looking for something to do before dinner downtown.

Such a great cruise last night! Captain Danny was the best letting my grandson stand up at the helm and Robin was great to talk with too! A wonderful night on our vacation!! Thank you so much for such a memorable time! We'll be back for sure!

Booked the same day for a daytime sightseeing cruise. Make sure u get there early and get in line quick to get a seat on lower level on the back so u can see the sights. If not ur inside looking through windows or u have to sit on the cushions at front of catamaran. Which is fine if ur young but gets uncomfortable if ur a little early ur also in the sun the whole time. But.....the caption and first mate are amazing and the sights are incredible. You see all the famous people mansions and then said and chill out in the gulf. You can also bring a little cooler w bottle of wine and snacks. Bring your own ice and plastic tumblers

There is very cheesy narration during the 'cruising' portion of the boat tour ("Supposedly JLO lives in that house" "that house is worth 20mil", etc). The narration can be entertaining but just FYI that this is basically a sightseeing/real estate tour. At one point, there was a dolphin and they literally turned the entire boat in a circle to try to 'chase it' (which was obviously unsuccessful and nauseating considering it was also raining at this point). The beach island for shelling is beautiful but the duration of the stay is very short (1 hour). The boat workers could have been more approachable as well (they were borderline rude / did not seem to enjoy their job or want to be there). One member of our group wanted to sun tan on the boat during the shelling portion but was basically forced off the boat and on to the beach. I would recommend this tour for families with young children but I would not recommend for groups of young adults. This is a shared 44 person boat tour, which is fine (just FYI since it is not clearly stated on the website). For a private charter, you must call the phone number.

It was outstanding! The crew was friendly and professional. The weather was great that day and made for wonderful experience. Will use them again in the future.

I called The Sweet Liberty and talked with Christine who informed me she is the owner. I had given my gmail address and my visa credit card number to buy two tickets as a Christmas Gift for 2 good friends. I hadn't received an email from Sweet Liberty so I called again and spoke with Christine. In the meantime, my gmail account had reached full capacity and I had to buy more space for my gmail account as the gmail storage was always free. At the time I was questioning Christine about the tickets as I choose 1 of three logos advertised on. line. I told Christine I did not receive any email. Christine curtly said "what don't you understand"? As I had expected the two gift cards to be mailed to me. Christine then said "this isn't going to work out" and hung up on me. What Christine did not understand and I was not aware of when I spoke to Christine was that my Gmail storage was full. As a full time resident of NAPLES, FL I have taken friends and family on the Sweet Liberty and had always enjoyed the sail. There was no reason for Christine to be so rude to me on the phone over just asking about how I would receive the TWO GIFT TICKETS. I had taken my new iPhone back to Verizon and was advised by a store employee that Gmail had just recently started charging for storage on Gmail. Again, I did not know my storage on my new iPhone was the problem. I was treated rudely and unprofessional by the owner, Christine for no reason at all.

my boyfriend and I were looking to do something extra on vacation and I found sweet liberty! The shelling cruise was a 12/10 and we were so happy that we found it. The captains on the boat were extremely insightful and gave a beautiful tour.

Departing from Naples’ City Dock*, the Sweet Liberty sailing catamaran offers a cross section of local sights and experiences with scenic cruises from historic Crayton Cove. On each trip she glides elegantly past magnificent waterfront homes lining the Gordon River and out into the glittering blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Cruises inevitably include a host of wildlife and birds that inhabit these mangrove-protected shores and islands and there’s usually the chance to meet up with some playful dolphins along the way.

There are a flotilla of local boat trips and sightseeing cruises plying the waters around Naples Florida , but there is only one Sweet Liberty. This luxury 53 foot sailing catamaran gathers many admiring glances as she cuts through pristine local waters with up to 44 passengers aboard enjoying this luxurious sailing experience.

As the largest sailing catamaran in Southwest Florida, this Gold Coast Sailing Catamaran is available to host the ultimate private parties, weddings, corporate events and memorial services for burials at sea. It is also a splendid vessel for enjoying a variety of sightseeing, wildlife and sunset cruises and has been serving the Naples community for over 25 years.

Originally the Sweet Liberty was custom-built for Captain Lenny Wassmer and his wife Anita, who have since retired, passing on the business to former captain of the Sweet Liberty , Shane Chaplin, who hails from the Florida Keys. Appropriately, Shane met his wife Susan on a charter fishing trip out of Naples City Dock back in 1998 and they held their wedding rehearsal dinner aboard the Sweet Liberty , so the boat is far more than “just a business” to them.

The Sweet Liberty sails out daily in season on a range of popular cruises to appreciate different aspects of the local waters.

Beach Island and Shelling Cruises take guests on a three-hour magical tour as far as the remote Keewaydin Island where you can spend an hour exploring the beaches of this former private resort hideaway. The trip includes a serene cruise through the backwaters and the Gulf, spotting a host of marine life, herons, ospreys and other surprises along the way. You’ll need to bring a net bag to carry all those wonderful seashells home with you!

A different itinerary is used for the two-hour-long Nature Watch and Sightseeing Cruise. These afternoon cruises provide the opportunity to discover marine life and birds in their own native setting. Bald eagles and ospreys hover above while dolphins leap ahead and behind the boat in the waves as part of their afternoon play. Pelicans can be seen diving beak-first into the water before resurfacing and swallowing their catch in one gigantic gulp. In contrast, passengers can admire some of the finest waterfront homes in southwest Florida along this beautiful coastline.

Screaming Inebriated Women on Board

We had a beautiful day but I frequently thought Sweet Liberty is one sad story away from a disaster as well as potential liability. Consider a no alcohol policy. You don’t need to attract a clientele that can not go without a drink for a 2 hour cruise. I would suggest a transition period where alcoholic beverages can be left in reclaimable cooler bags & be given water or another beverage instead. This inebriated guest screamed at everything in sight, every swell and ripple of the catamaran and cackled her undying allegiance to her political deity. She annoyed many of the customers- I can assure you they were not impressed.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this. The Captain and crew were aware of the situation with the woman you are mentioning in this review. I'm not sure if you realize that she had a medical condition which caused her behavior. Unlike other tour boats on Naples Bay the Sweet Liberty does not sell any alcohol. We've been told it's one of our customers favorite features of our cruises that we allow them to bring their own beverages on board. Thanks for your input. Susan Chaplin (Owner)

My wife and I rented the entire boat on March 9th 2024. We had 44 people from our campground so everyone knew everyone else. Fabulous time was had by all. The on line rental was handled perfectly, the boat and crew were there ahead of time and made the sunset cruise an excellent adventure for all. Leaving from the Naples dock we cruised past several $$$$$ houses then headed out into the gulf at which time the sails were raised and a slight breeze made for a great evening. During the cruise the Captain gave a running commentary while the two crew members answered everyone's questions. I would definitely recommend this outing even if you decide to take the other cruses (it sails 3 or 4 times daily depending on the time of year).

We did a sunset cruise with this company. It was a lot of fun, not too expensive and I liked that we could bring our own snacks. The captain was very knowledgeable about the wildlife around there and the residents on the waterfront. We plan to do this again in May.
