Corfu flotilla - north route (2024).

2024 dates: 04, 18 May | 01, 15, 29 Jun | 13, 27 Jul | 10, 24 Aug | 07, 21 Sep | 05 Oct 2024

 day 1 (saturday) : gouvia marina, corfu.

You join your flotilla at Gouvia marina, just a 15-minute drive from Corfu airport. This modern marina is a great starting point for your holiday and after settling in on your yacht there’s time for a stroll around the shops and a relaxing dinner.

 Day 2 (Sunday) : Kalami or Koloura, Corfu (7nm)

Kalami and Koloura are secluded bays set beneath the hills on Corfu’s north east coast with beautiful beaches, waterfront places to eat & drink, and beautiful warm waters perfect for exploring with a stand-up-paddleboard.

 Day 3 (Monday) : Erikousa Town (22nm)

One of the most virgin islands of the Ionian Sea, Erikousa stands 8 nautical miles northwest of Corfu surrounded by crystal clear blue waters, endless golden and steep cliffy beaches. Meet the friendly locals who are very excited to welcome you and help you with your adventurous trip.

 Day 4 (Tuesday) : Stamoleka Beach (1nm)

Erikousa is all about remote relaxation, so take it easy sailing around the island to explore, before spending the night anchored off sandy Stamoleka beach with a group BBQ ashore.

 Day 5 (Wednesday) : Kassiopi or Agios Stephanos, Corfu (17nm)

Sailing downwind the flotilla stops in Kassiopi, an old fishing village on the northeast coast of Corfu, which has retained its charm. A bustling small town set around a scenic harbour, the waterfront is lined with traditional tavernas and seafood restaurants, overlooked by the remains of a Byzantine castle.

 Day 6 (Thursday) : Corfu Old Town (12nm)

Enjoy a night in Corfu town, a Unesco World Heritage Centre known for its rich history. With beautiful Venetian architecture and the Old Fortress, the old town is a charming visit.

 Day 7 (Friday) : Gouvia Marina (4nm)

Before returning to Gouvia Marina, taking a lunch stop at Vido island the former Alcatraz of Corfu is the perfect way to end the holiday.

Two-Week “Free Sailing” or option to return to base.

 Day 8 (Saturday) : Corfu

Disembark at Gouvia Marina and take your included transfer back to the airport.

Corfu Flotilla - South Route (2024)

 day 2 (sunday) : petriti, corfu (15nm).

Petriti is a fishing village located on the southeast coast of Corfu, Greece. The village is the largest fishing port on the island and the five tavernas on the sea front all specialise in seafood.

 Day 3 (Monday) : Sivota [Mourtos], Mainland (12m)

Sailing back across to the mainland we visit the revamped little town of Sivota in the magnificent bay of Mourtos. Soak up the atmosphere whilst watching the beautiful Greek sunset.

 Day 4 (Tuesday) : Mongonisi, Paxos (13nm)

Situated at the southernmost point of Paxos, Mongonisi is surrounded by clear blue sea with a small sandy beach offering safe bathing for all ages. The small port for yachts provides good shelter and free mooring with one taverna offering a popular “Greek night”.

 Day 5 (Wednesday) : Lakka, Paxos (8nm)

Lakka is a true Ionian gem, a beautiful little village which often becomes our clients’ favourite spot.

 Day 6 (Thursday) : Plataria, Mainland (17nm)

This quiet village remains widely unknown to tourists and is a perfect spot to enjoy dinner in a waterfront taverna whilst getting to know your fellow flotilla crews.

Before returning to Gouvia Marina, taking a lunch stop at Mouse Island with its picture-perfect chapel is the perfect way to end the holiday.

Ionian Flotilla - Ithaka Route (2024)

2024 dates: 5, 19 May | 2, 16, 30 Jun | 14, 28 Jul | 11, 25 Aug | 8, 22 Sep | 6, 20 Oct 2024

 day 1 (sunday) : palairos harbour.

You join your flotilla in our beautifully located Palairos base, just a short drive from Preveza airport. The superb setting, with views across to Meganisi and Scorpio, the island owned by the Onassis family, will soon put you in the holiday mood! After settling in on your yacht there’s time for a stroll around the shops and a relaxing dinner.

Day 2 (Monday) : Kastos

Kastos is a little gem of a place, inhabited by around 50 permanent residents only. The ultimate Ionian Island hideaway, it is blessed with lovely beaches, peace and quiet, and a deliciously simple way of life.

Day 3 (Tuesday) : Big Vathi, Ithaka

Big Vathi has been the main harbour of Ithaca since the 16th century. Vathi is steeped in history and wandering the small streets is a treat before you settle down for a leisurely meal and sundowner.

Day 4 (Wednesday) : Kioni, Ithaka

Kioni village is an exceptional beauty set amidst a setting of olive groves. The lovely houses form an amphitheatre around the steep slopes of the bay with its amazing deep blue waters.

Day 5 (Thursday) : Vasiliki, Lefkas

Day 6 (friday) : little vathi, meganisi.

Little Vathi is a tiny port on the northeast coast of Meganisi. In a sheltered position at the end of an inlet, it has a few waterfront tavernas. Settle down to a cold beer and plate of mezes by the quayside and watch the ferry and fishing boats come and go.

Day 7 (Saturday) : Palairos Harbour

Stop at Abelike Bay for a last lunch stop and swim before returning to Palairos.

Two-Week bookings have “Free Sailing” or the option to return to the base at Palairos.

Day 8 (Sunday)

Disembark from Palairos and take your included transfer back to the airport.

Ionian Flotilla – Kefalonia Route (2024)

Day 1 (sunday) : palairos harbour, day 2 (monday) : sivota, lefkas.

Enjoy a sail across to Sivota on the East coast of Lefkas. This is an unspoiled fishing village which has managed to keep its Greek character through all the years despite the growth of tourism. Here you’re spoiled for choice as there is a variety of shops, cafes and tavernas.

Day 3 (Tuesday) : Fiskardo, Kefalonia

This beautiful old fishing harbour is considered the pearl of the Ionian Islands. You’ll find a wide choice of stylish and sophisticated shops, cafes and a variety of tavernas and restaurants.

Day 4 (Wednesday) : Kalamos (Port Leone)

Enjoy a sail north to the island of Kalamos. Port Kalamos is a sleepy little harbour with a few restaurants and shops on the quayside for visiting yachts. Take a walk up to the old town for views and a visit to the bakery.

 Day 5 (Thursday) : Spartochori, Meganisi

Spartochori is a great setting for watching an evening sunset over the top of the village. After an enjoyable sail, relax whilst moored to the jetty, only a few steps away from the tavern.

Day 6 (Friday) : Port Atheni, Meganisi

Port Atheni is a small harbour on the island of Meganisi and is located in the bay with the same name used mainly for fishing boats. Several hiking tracks lead over the hills and down through the olive-tree plantations to the isolated bays on the other part of the island.

Sailing Holidays in Greece, `The Odyssey` Route

During “The Odyssey” Ionian sailing holidays we sail to visit the home of Odysseus: Ithaka. This Greek sailing region of central Ionian Sea is rich in islands, mountains and bays . These hide the bluest water that we ever seen. We expect to eat well, drink good wine and satisfy our wanderlust for a little adventure. The route is designed to show the best that this region has to offer: lonesome bays, little villages, towering cliffs and a few gems that we want to keep secret. Just like Odysseus we will sail and explore what is beyond the horizon.

Note: We are faithful to the true sailing spirit, therefore we plan exact stopovers together with the wind and the weather. Our trips are not a planned itinerary which is always the same. This means that the exact order of stopovers may be different to the one presented below, but definitely as much interesting!

Ionian Sailing Holidays Itinerary

Lefkas marina.

Our starting point for sailing in Greece is Lefkas Marina. It can be easily reached with a taxi from nearby Aktion airport. If you will land in Corfu International airport you can reach the marina with a bus or with a shuttle transfer that you can book on our website. Lefkas Marina is just next to the old city of Lefkas. On the check-in day we meet the crew, provision the yacht and try to leave the port as soon as possible to reach nearby bay to spend the night anchored in a turquoise-watered bay . Let`s start our Flotilla Sailing Holidays in Greece!

Spartochori

Spartochori lies on the Meganissi Island which is intended with several natural harbors and numerous enclosed bays . Most of the bays are forested with olive and cypress trees . Upon our approach to Spartochori we might pass by some villagers fishing out in their traditional wooden boats. The catch of the day is served in the Tavernas on the shore just next to the port. After a short hike we reach the village of Spartochori where people still keep their slow pace of living and enjoy the Greek sun. This evening we spend unwinding , getting into the sailing mode and getting to know everyone from our flotilla.

On our way to Atokos island we sail by many bays with beautiful blue water and green olive grows. Slowly making our way down south we approach Formikoula island where we have a lunch stop for swimming and enjoying the view of orange cliffs. The snorkelling set will be very useful here as the marine life is outstanding and in abundance .

Upon reaching Atokos island we moor our yachts next to each other to create a yacht raft . This way we spend the night, under psychedelic white cliffs . We are away from civilization, with our yachts creating a private space where we enjoy living. It`s an uninhabited island so this night is ours!

It seems to us that the Ionian Sea coast is full of cliffs as we pass the northern tip of Ithaka island on our cruise to Fiskardo. The cliffs (150m) are even higer then on Atokos island (30m). After a quick lunch, and of course a snorkelling session, we continue our sail to the tiny Fiskardo. Prepare for a bit of other yachties as Fiskardo is quite a popular destination for various Flotilla Sailing Holidays in Greece. In this village we resupply our yachts, eat at the waterline Taverna , stroll around the city admiring beautiful blossoms hanging from balconies and rent scooters to explore Kefalonia island.

Our main destination of the scooter trip is the Myrtos beach . White warm sand and the bluest water you ever seen is enclosed by a steep slopes (400m). We spend here some time, swim, hike up to admire the sunset and scooter back to Fiskardo.

PS. If the weather allows we can also sail further than Fiskardo and anchor at Myrtos beach itself!

Ithaka Island

Sailing further south, along eastern Kefalonia coast we pass numerous beautiful and remote bays. Some are so small that only one yacht fits in, some are a bit larger. Each yacht from our flotilla seeks a different bay to enjoy the peace and tranquility of sailing holidays . It has been only a few days since we sailed out but we already cannot imagine any other way of living. Yachts, friendly people, sun and good food . With this mood we reach Ithaka island, the home of Odysseus .

We raft our yachts again near the small, remote island of Ligia. There is a little stone quay on which only the yachts of our flotilla moor. We embark on a journey to count the stars, share food, stories and hopefully do some music and sing the night through. Remember to bring instruments!

Vathi is our stopover only for a short time. We arrive, stroll the city, have a quick coffee and an ice cream and leave to sail in Greece further. If your crew prefer you can also choose a lonesome bay to visit or another little village on the coast of Ithaka . Remember that you are always free to talk about your wishes towards the trip with your skipper! We organize Flotilla Sailing Holidays in Greece like it would be a trip with friends: always flexible and easy!

This bay is known for it`s outstanding tavernas . We can moor at the pier of a taverna for free if we decide to dine there. Its more than a fair deal. The fish and seafood come from the morning catch , the meats can`t be prepared with more love and the wine production tradition is thousands year old. In this bay which is squeezed in between forested hills our taste buds explode from joy 🙂

Everyday we aim to stop at vibrant bays for a quick lunch and snorkelling. We drop an anchor and enjoy the beauty of the nature around us. We eat what we cook on board, swim in crystal clear water, sunbath and relax. And if you wish to, you can climb the mast to take such a great photo! Afterwards another sailing session awaits!

We always have a regatta on Friday, the last day of our sailing in Croatia. We put our newly learnt skills into use and you take the reins. Skippers do not help at all and the team has lots of fun and a little prize at the end!

Most frequent questions about sailing in greece, who will be on my yacht.

Around 50% of the people who come to my sailing holidays are coming solo. 25% in groups of 2 and 25% in the group of 3 and more. As there is a few yachts I take special care in matching people to the crews. I even wrote a little blog post about that:  Matching Yacht Crews for Sailing Holidays

WHAT DOES THE EXACT ITINERARY LOOK LIKE?

At Naleia we plan as we go according to the weather conditions and all crews` moods. There are a variety of places that we can visit, but the order and exact choice is only made each morning after verifying the weather conditions. Leave planning at home! We live for the moment !

WHEN CAN I CHECK-IN ON THE FIRST DAY AND WHEN DO WE ARRIVE TO MARINA ON THE LAST DAY?

Check-ins are always on Saturdays at 16h00. You are naturally most welcome to come earlier and say hello! Our yacht will be being cleaned at this moment, so we will need to wait a little. We leave the port next morning (Sunday) after breakfast.

On Friday, the last day, we arrive at our marina in the afternoon: 15h00-18h00. We need to check-out and leave the yachts before 09h00 on Saturday morning.

HOW MANY YACHTS WILL BE IN GREEK FLOTILLA?

There won`t be more than 6 yachts in our Greek flotilla. This allows us to fit into small and uninhabited bays, moor at little restaurants and it makes the group small enough to have a cosy and friendly atmosphere that allows spontaneous ideas to come to life! For example: hiking the nearby hill to admire the sunset, going to a local concert or jamming on our yachts!

Had awesome morning fishing with my 2 boys ages 5 & 3. Captain was brilliant, found perfect spots to swim and made the whole trip enjoyable . Would definitely recommend.

We didn’t wish to leave the sail boat! The boat had most comforts and we relaxed so much! We could have quite happily started all over again!

Very good experience with the sail2day team, they were very friendly and helpful, making sure everything was in good shape for our sail. They also offered to help us with an issue that was not connected with our sailing trip or their boat.
