He holds a License Hellenic Merchant Maritime (Skipper A ‘Class) and has worked on various Sailing Yachts around the world. Captain Vangelis has vast knowledge of the Eastern Mediterranean and knows the waters very well. He has also undertaken an Atlantic crossing from Spain to Miami and he has extensive experience in racing sail at offshore and Olympic Class boats since a very young age, winning medals in various classes. In his spare time, Captain Baloo enjoys relaxing with his Wife and two Children. CHIEF ENGINEER, George Sinos from Greece, Age 37 George holds his Chief Engineer Unlimited License, a speed boat license, and numerous certificates such as SSO, Ro-Ro passenger, Advanced firefighting, LNG firefighting, High Voltage at ABS etc. George started his career in 2005 at bulk and LNG carriers entered the yachting industry in 2015 and he has worked on various yachts. He joined S/Y Baracuda in 2023. George with his vast experience is a valuable member of the team ensuring efficient and safe operations. He speaks English and loves all water sports. CHIEF OFFICER, George Argyros from Greece, Age 36 George is an avid sailor with a true passion for the sea. From a young age he has been involved in club racing around the waters of Greece. CHEF, Yiannis Diakoumopoulos from Greece, Age 29 Yiannis was born in Athens and he is a graduate of Le Monde Culinary Institute. He has also undertaken an Atlantic crossing from Spain to Miami and he has extensive experience in racing sail at offshore and Olympic Class boats since a very young age, winning medals in various classes.<br /> In his spare time, Captain Baloo enjoys relaxing with his Wife and two Children.<br /> <br /> CHIEF ENGINEER, George Sinos from Greece, Age 37<br /> George holds his Chief Engineer Unlimited License, a speed boat license, and numerous certificates such as SSO, Ro-Ro passenger, Advanced firefighting, LNG firefighting, High Voltage at ABS etc.<br /> George started his career in 2005 at bulk and LNG carriers entered the yachting industry in 2015 and he has worked on various yachts. He joined S/Y Baracuda in 2023. George with his vast experience is a valuable member of the team ensuring efficient and safe operations. He speaks English and loves all water sports.<br /> <br /> CHIEF OFFICER, George Argyros from Greece, Age 36<br /> George is an avid sailor with a true passion for the sea. From a young age he has been involved in club racing around the waters of Greece. Carpenter by trade, this nomad has worked around the world in various jobs and careers, making friends along the way. His heart placed him in Greece, where he is content spending time with his wife and bringing up his family. He is a hardworking and dedicated crew member with excellent teamwork skills. He speaks English.<br /> <br /> CHEF, Yiannis Diakoumopoulos from Greece, Age 29<br /> Yiannis was born in Athens and he is a graduate of Le Monde Culinary Institute.<br /> He gained valuable experience after working in luxury restaurants and being a private chef.<br /> Yiannis is very creative with extensive knowledge of Mediterranean and international cuisines, and he loves preparing delicious dishes with fresh local ingredients.<br /> He is capable of using advanced culinary techniques and he is up to date with the latest trends in gastronomy.<br /> He has also studied Oenology so he has excellent food and wine pairing skills.<br /> Yiannis speaks English and he enjoys reading, travelling and watching movies.<br /> <br /> CHIEF STEWARDESS, Tania Papathanasiou from Greece, age 45<br /> Tania was born and raised in a small seaside town, called Nafpaktos, and joined the yachting<br /> industry in 1997. She has many years of experience in racing offshore sailing boats in the Aegean<br /> and Mediterranean Sea. Since 2010 she has been working in charter yachts as a stewardess.<br /> Tania is an enthusiastic and positive individual with an adventuress streak. She is a diligent and enthusiastic person who pays great attention to detail and offers excellent service to all clients onboard. In her spare time she enjoys reading books, cycling and relaxing with her family.<br /> <br /> <br /> 2ND STEWARDESS, Vasiliki Kyvelou from Greece, age 28<br /> Vasiliki is Greek – Italian and holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from the University of Aegean. She is a great team player with excellent interpersonal skills, taking good care of the guests with a big smile. She speaks English and Italian. For those wishing to add uniqueness to their Malta experience with a sense of freedom and luxury, Mowgli an Elan Impression 45ft. sailboat, manufactured in 2020 is an excellent choice. Mowgli is a comfortable sailing yacht available for day charters in Malta. Able to cater for groups up to 9 guests plus our captain. The boat can only be rented with our professional skipper. The price for the skipper, fuel and taxes is €300 extra and it is to be paid on the same day, upon departure in cash! Extra hours are possible at €75 per hour. The boat is in Marina di Valletta in Pieta, right near Valletta.

My friends and I had a great time and really would recommend Evgheni. He is incredibly communicative throughout booking all the way through to setting sail. He is really keen that your group have a good time on his boat. The boat itself is lovely, well-maintained and spacious. Our skipper for the day, Pawel, was also really keen that we made the most of our trip and worked with us throughout the day to cater our trip to our wishes. Evgheni was amazing! Responded quickly to my messages, boat looked better than the pictures. He had a paddle board, mask, and floaties. We were able to connect our phones for music. We loved our family day with the boat. For six people it was very comfortable. Good facilities, everything was clean, skipper was great. The Blue lagoons were amazing albeit very busy, but well worth the trip. Never seen seas like it. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time on the sailboat. We didn’t have a lot of time, but Manuel took us to a great spot for some swimming. There were 12 of us, and it was a bit tight, but it worked. Evgeni was great with communication and organizing food and drinks for the trip. I would definitely book them again.

We had a wonderful experience but the weather didn't cooperate on the day of our rental. Manuel, our skipper, was very experienced and aware of the potential bad side effects of the high sea state and had a plan to minimize our exposure to the rough seas yet get a relaxing day on the water. He was attentive and very pleasant tour guide with great English skills. We terminated the day with a nice tour of the grand harbor of Valletta. Thank you for a wonderful time.

The whole booking process with Evgheni was really smooth, he was responsive and really helpful. Our skipper for day was Neil who was a fantastic person, he was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a smooth experience and an enjoyable day. He provided us a really good insights in to the history of Malta and took us to the best sites, we really enjoyed visiting blue lagoon and spending time going for a swim! The yacht itself was really spacious and a really great yacht to take a day trip around the water. Overall we couldn’t speak highly enough of the experience and in particular or skipper Neil who made it really enjoyable. We will definitely be Evgheni and his team again on our return to Malta.

It was such a great experience! The boat was just like the pictures, and extremely well kept. Evgheni and his wife were excellent hosts and made our time wonderful. We wanted to see Gozo but they explained to us that since it is a sail boat, it would take longer. They were understanding and communicated with us and made sure we were happy. They recommended Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon with the time we had which were AMAZING. We brought food and had a picnic. The timing of everything was perfect. I would highly recommend booking with them! :)

Had a lovely time with my wife on a charted cruise. The skipper allowed us our privacy and when asked gave us a lot of information about the surrounding areas. Sailing was amazing. Recommendation to future travellers carry a windcheater:-). But 10/10 will definitely do it again 😀

Glen was our Captain for the day. He is such an asset to have as an employee. He was friendly, informative and so accommodating! Our trip wouldn't have been the same without Glen!!! The boat was nice, new and clean, however, the boats facilities looked bigger in the photos but this didn't hamper the 5 of us. We ordered food and soft drinks directly - the pizza's were delicious! Myself and my other 7 friends celebrated a hen’s party on Evgheni’s boat and could not have been happier with the experience. Evgheni was extremely helpful and very responsive months before our trip, he gave us great recommendations of a route to take on the day and also was kind enough to pick some food for our lunch on the boat. During the trip he was very respectful and nice, answering any questions and always checking if we are happy with the plan of where we are going/what we are doing next. The boat itself had a clean bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, fridge, table with some seating downstairs and cosy place outside for everyone to sit down and enjoy a cocktail. He took us to the most beautiful places, we were able to do some swimming, paddling and the whole day just really exceeded our expectations - would definitely recommend!

Evgheni was a fantastic host, he made us feel very welcome and safe on the yacht. He also provided tips on local cuisine and even invited us to eat at his restaurant nearby. Highly recommend his services, would happily use it again next time I'm in Malta. FYI be very careful if you're bringing a drone on board 😂.

What an INCREDIBLE day Evgheni and his wonderful partner Marie-Claire were the best hosts. We felt welcome and safe the entire time, we were able to help sail and our little boy was treated like a king. They even babysat so we could go off snorkelling/SUP. We had an amazing time! The captain asked where we wanted to go and we asked for a nice quiet place to swim and relax. There were snorkels and pool noodles and a sup. We saw a lot of fish and had an amazing time! Very friendly! Everything was available (cutlery, cups, plates,…) and there was a fridge. Would happily return if we are ever in Malta again! Highly recommended!

Booked a last minute charter with Evgheni, he was really easy to communicate with and made the whole process so much easier. When we arrived at the marina the boat was so lovely. Evgheni was a great sailor and we all felt in good hands! We mistakenly didn’t bring enough food and he went out of his way to give us some of his grandma’s lasagne (which was amazing) and lots of snacks. Everywhere we visited was stunning but the highlight of the day was sailing around with Evgheni’s great company!! If there’s one thing you do in Malta make it this trip, it’s worth every penny and more, I will definitely be back to do another boat trip!!

Our group had Evgheni for a day and it was an absolute blast! Before booking, Evgheni was quick to respond to any questions I had and was very accommodating! Once we arrived, he welcomed up and showed us an amazing time out on the water. He even docked the boat so we could get off the boat for a bit to enjoy lunch. Beautiful start and Evgheni suggested a route where we could preorder lunch to be delivered onboard. Ran into a storm and had to drop anchor for safety so Evgheni made coffee and offered extra towels to us. He offered to cook pasta for us but as a couple of the group felt seasick we decided to cut our journey short and return to port. Evgheni got us back safely despite the awful weather. He is a good host and makes the best coffee.

Evenghi and his girlfriend Marie-Claire took our group of 8 friends out on the Rainbow Hunter for a day trip in August, and we all had a fabulous time. The boat was lovely, they were both great fun and so accommodating (we even had Marie-Claire in a tutu at one point for group photos), and they knew all the best spots to take us to swim and relax. It was quite a choppy day and there was one nervous passenger but they soon made us feel safe and comfortable. A great time was had by all and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough…

CAPTAIN, Vangelis from Greece, Age 53 Also known as Baloo, Vangelis was born in the town of Piraeus in Athens. He holds a License Hellenic Merchant Maritime (Skipper A’Class) and has worked on various Sailing Yachts around the world. Captain Vangelis has vast knowledge of the Eastern Mediterranean and knows the waters very well. He has also undertaken an Atlantic crossing from Spain to Miami and he has extensive experience in racing sail at offshore and Olympic Class boats since a very young age, winning medals in various classes. In his spare time, Captain Baloo enjoys relaxing with his Wife and two Children. CHIEF ENGINEER, Matthew Lenehan from New Zealand, Age 33 Matthew holds his Engineer License, Yacht master offshore 200T, STCW95, RYA Competent Crew, Powerboat Level 2 and has a Bachelor of Business Degree. Matthew entered the industry in 2009 and he has worked on various yachts around the world. Matthew has cruised the Baltic, England, Scotland, Caribbean, East and West Mediterranean. He joined S/Y Baracuda in 2012 and is a valuable member of the team. When he is not working, Matthew can be found either on the mountains snowboarding or in the sea playing with all types of water toys. CHIEF OFFICER, George Mastandreou from Greece, Age 34 With many years of experience sailing the Aegean Sea, as well as the Western Mediterranean and beyond, George joined S/Y Baracuda at the end of 2015 and has proven to be a capable deck crew member. He has vast knowledge of deck repairs and maintenance as well as expertise in navigating. George has many interests outside of yachting including cycling, skiing and watersports. George is also a fan of Formula 1 and is a whiz kid with computers. Name: George Argyros Position: Bosun Nationality: Greek George is an avid sailor with a true passion for the sea. From a young age he has been involved in club racing around the waters of Greece. His love and knowledge for boats and the sea alike has fortunately enabled him to pursue a career in the Yachting industry. George is a sociable character and enjoys the interaction yachting provides with both crew and guests. When George is not getting his feet wet you can find him playing the blues, or taking long road trips on his Motorbike. Name: Raemon Devlin Position: Deckhand / Engineer Nationality: Irish Looking to tick off his workplace bucket list, Raemon joined S/Y Baracuda in 2015 as a very valuable crew member, to fulfill his passion for boats and the sea. Carpenter by trade, this nomad has worked around the world in various jobs and careers, making friends al ong the way. His heart placed him in Greece, where he is content spending time with his wife and bringing up his family.As a singer, song writer by hobby, you can find Raemon jamming with his band in venues around Athens. Name: Ioannis Seferiadis Position: Chef Nationality: Greek Ioannis holds a Chef’s Diploma from the Chef D’ Oeuvre Culinary and Pastry School and has attended numerous seminars at Ducasse Education by Alain Ducasse. He has worked for many years as executive chef in luxurious hotels and restaurants such as Astir Hotel & Resort, Electra Hotel Four Seasons Astir Palace and others. Also, since 2002 and until now he is offering his services for formal and ceremonial dinners at the Greek Presidential mansion. Ioannis specializes in Mediterranean & International cuisines. He is professional and creative with outstanding culinary skills. He is very passionate about his cuisine, eager to tailor make his guests’ menus and keen to present them with gastronomic extravagances or simple, heavenly tastes. He speaks fluent English and his hobbies are diving, sports and computers. Name: Kyly Jones Position: Chief Stewardess Nationality: Australian Kyly has worked in hospitality before joining the yachting industry in 2017. Kyly worked on large yachts around the world before making the change to sailing on S/Y Baracuda such as 50m M/Y Herculina and 56m M/Y Rio. She is always willing to lend a hand on deck when needed. Kyly is a dynamic, well-presented individual with a meticulous eye for detail and professional approach to her work. She is hard working, reliable and enthusiastic. In her free time she enjoys hiking, running and swimming – she was a swimming coach for 2 years. Name: Melissa Wood Position: 2nd Stewardess Nationality: English Melissa has always been involved in activities associated with the sea. Inevitably in 2017 entered yachting and since then she has worked on some mega yachts in both permanent and temporary positions gaining very valuable experience. Melissa has great communication skills, and she is a well-balanced individual wiling to exceed I any task that is presented to her. Melissa wishes you a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Name: Chrisanthi Ximeraki Position: 3rd Stewardess Nationality: Greek Chrisanthi is a dedicated stewardess with 5 seasons in yachting and 4 years in hospitality. She enjoys the creative aspects yachting provides as well as guest service interaction. After having worked on various motor yachts in the Greece for a few years now she is well experienced and is thoroughly enjoying her time here on S/Y Baracuda. Chrisanthi is hard working, reliable and a team player and wishes you a comfortable trip onboard.

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
