Hampshire II
Motor Yacht
The Redman Whiteley Dixon design of Hampshire II covers her remarkable exterior, and flows through to the interior. The 78.50 metre motor yacht was then brought to life by Feadship at their Makkum facilities before being launched in 2012.
Her owner, an experienced Feadship owner, entered the project with a clear vision of what he and his family were looking for – a nautical playground of unquestionable quality. Hampshire II was created to provide a platform of exploration, action and sport, featuring various creative design elements such as a helipad on the foredeck which converts into a basket ball, tennis, badminton and football court.
Each deck of Hampshire II features a diving board, and the 25 metre crows nest allows the owner to zipline to the water below. The exploration features aren’t just built in to the boat, but featured throughout the beach club area and garage which are stocked with windsurfing and diving equipment, mountain bikes and arsenal of toys and tenders.
The interiors themselves were designed to the specific brief of traditional yachting feel without introducing the look of a hotel or a New York apartment. Features include real log fire, an extraordinary bar on the bridge deck, a stunning wine cellar with underwater viewing window and private cinema on the lower deck.

Feadship’s new Hampshire II Megayacht is launched
By Adrian Prisca
Updated on August 31, 2017
A new marvelous entry in the world of cruising, from the Feadship yacht-maker, has come to life. The brand new 257-foot Hampshire II superyacht is ready to pamper its owner with luxury, privacy and high performance.
For those born under metric units, the yacht boasts 78.5 meters of exquisiteness, including tennis, badminton or basketball indoor courts and an outdoor football field. The vessel has been presented by the beginning of 2012’s April in such a great pomp that some of the owner’s real-life friends have started to use the facilities on the yacht.
What one can see everywhere on this yacht is luxury. Premium quality wooden flooring, combined with astonishing attention to detail is what makes this decent-sized world so interesting. To give you an example of efficiency, the helipad onboard can be converted into an outdoor basketball court.
We haven’t seen many vessels fabricators yet to think of that. In addition, guests are pampered with an English style bar and lounge on the bridge deck. The yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests inside, not counting the 21 member crew. Furthermore, if you’d be a guest on this beautiful vessel and if you would seek something truly out of the ordinary, then the crow’s nest is what you’d probably choose. Accessible via an in-built elevator, some breathtaking views can be enjoyed from the spot.
Regarding performance, this rather extraordinary superyacht sports boosters up to his measures. Considering their 205,000 capacity, and their overall weight, they can steal propel the boat with a maximum speed of 16 knots. The cruise speed is limited to 12 knots, though, enough to send a good load of comfort into the guests’ hearts.
It features quite a generous autonomy, of 5,500 nautical miles. If you’re a technology enthusiast, maybe these figures could make your eyeballs pop out: twin MTU 16V4000M53R machines co-working with VTNainad Marine zero-speed stabilizers – these ensure a rather smooth and cozy ride.
All these characteristics really make it stand out of the crowd. We absolutely love this yacht – gorgeousness at its best!

Feadship ‘New Hampshire’ for sale at €44.95 million
Fresh from upgrades amounting to €8 million, the 62m build is for sale with cecil wright & partners….
Cecil Wright & Partners has announced its appointment as the worldwide central agent for the 62m Feadship motoryacht, New Hampshire . Built by the Dutch yard in 2005, she was sold to her current owner in 2016 and has since been upgraded significantly. She is for sale at €44.95 million (VAT paid).
“A lot of her refit work was completed at Pendennis,” explains Henry Smith, sales broker at Cecil Wright & Partners. “The idea was to take a boat that was a little outdated, because the previous owner didn’t care so much about the ultra-modern tech or look, and give it a complete upgrade.” Due to the current owners wanting to use the boat more actively for business, they upgraded all the wiring and installed high-speed internet and other state-of-the-art AV/IT systems.
All in all, the current owners have spent around €8 million on the boat since 2016: €2.7 million on engineering; €2.2 million on the interior; €2.1 million on the exterior; and €710,000 on AV/IT. “They [the current owners] spent a lot, thinking they would hold onto her for ages, but they ended up changing their minds,” Smith continues. “She’s essentially a brand-new classic boat. The engines and generators were overhauled, her paintwork was done at Pinmar [a €1.5 million job]. There’s really no work that needs doing.”
Smith describes the GA on New Hampshire as “logical” and “functional”. She has a master stateroom on the main deck; a big main salon; a dining area that can be open or isolated; a vast sundeck; good service access on all decks; and a massive galley.
While a great deal of the upgrades are behind the scenes, some are more visible: “The sky-lounge was one of the main changes we made – it was kind of old school so we took the carpet out and replaced it with teak and holly, so it’s contemporary, and we put a bar in as well as changing all the soft furnishings. The owners are big into watching sport and there are 4K TVs everywhere, but you can’t see them because when they are not in use they are concealed behind moveable wooden paneling.”
He says the over-engineering is outstanding. “You have to remember the era she was built in – it was super boom time before the recession, so the attention to detail and over craftsmanship and over working is off the charts. The complexity of the cabinetry is unbelievable, to the point where it is almost completely unnecessary, even in the crew areas. It would cost a fortune to build a boat to this specification now.”
Over the past 100 days or so there have been six Feadship central agency listings that are new to the market: Broadwater, Herculina, Vanish, Moon Sand, Angiamo and New Hampshire . And, over the past 12 months, there have been six sales: Sea Racer, Gladiator, Illusion, Cynthia, Huntress II and Oncle Paul .
“The complexity of the cabinetry is unbelievable, to the point where it is almost completely unnecessary, even in the crew areas.”
Smith says there have been several withdrawals from the market too. Mirage was withdrawn and Jimmy John Liautaud’s Rock.It was also withdrawn, among others.
Considering the current marketplace, it’s Vanish, Anna and Larissa that Smith considers to be the closest comparables for sale. “ Vanish is 1,481 gross tons and asking €85 million, which is not insane. She’s a spec build and the guy who bought her invested a considerable amount of money into her. He added a second helideck among other features. A yacht of this age and pedigree is a rarity in the market as we see it today.”
He continues: “You’ve then got Anna , which has that classic styling but a lot of the volume is attributed to the double-height master, which might work for some but not all. Larissa is spectacularly beautiful – the interior is absolutely stunning, but it has an unusual GA and only four guest cabins. Moon Sand also has a fairly unusual GA, but it depends what you want from your boat.”
On the whole, classically styled Feadships are very well maintained because they are collector’s items in a sense, but upon scouring the marketplace, I think one would struggle to find a yacht as recently and substantially upgraded as New Hampshire .

Hampshire II – New Launch
Edmiston are delighted to announce the launch of HAMPSHIRE II
Designed and built for a longstanding Edmiston client and experienced yachtsman, every step of the conception, design and build process has been overseen by Edmiston’s Yacht Management division based in Monaco.
With numerous innovative design features, HAMPSHIRE II has been designed around every conceivable sporting activity from the foredeck ball court for basketball, tennis, badminton and football, to diving boards on all decks and a crow’s nest from where the more adventurous guests can zip wire to the sea, 25 metres below! Other features include private balcony’s accessible directly from the owners cabin, a vast beach club opening on three sides with a huge swim platform, bar and equipment for every imaginable water and land based sport. The split level sundeck features a Jacuzzi, bar and teriyaki grill forward with a large boat deck aft where 2 sailing dinghies and an additional sports tender are stored.
The interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon and the owner’s interior design team builds on the style of the owner’s previous yacht with a classical but homely feel throughout. The interior boasts a number of stunning features from the English style bar on the bridge deck to the stunning wine cellar with underwater viewing porthole and cinema on the lower deck. The engine room has a suspended walkway with floor to ceiling glass, leading from the guest accommodation through to the beach club, which enables guests to look down on the Ferrari red engines which are lit by spotlights. Every detail of this yacht has been meticulously thought through, designed and built to the very highest standards and makes HAMPSHIRE II without question one of the finest yachts to be launched this year.
HAMPSHIRE II marks yet another highly successful collaboration between Edmiston and Feadship, and marks the second of three significant new build projects which Edmiston Yacht Management have overseen. The first being the 78m TANGO which was launched last year.

Due to the international and fluid nature of the yachting business and the fact there is no global central industry listing service to which all charter yachts subscribe it is impossible to ascertain a truly up-to-date view of the market. We are a news and information service and not always informed when yachts leave the charter market, or when they are recently sold and renamed it is not clear if they are still for charter.
