Monaco Yacht Club

Membership has its privileges, and for the very wealthy and their extended families, having membership in an elite private yacht club offers prestige and rank among their peers. These private clubs are legendary with outrageous initiation fees, strict dress codes, luxurious clubhouses, gourmet restaurants, family activities, and overnight accommodations.

Many members are not as focused on having a place to dock their yachts as they are interested in the social life and activities provided by the clubs. Most of us will never have the chance to become a member, as waiting lists are many years long, or you need to be nominated and vetted by current members.

Dennis W. Burns, Executive Director, Club Leaders Forum & Platinum Clubs, tells me, “Platinum recognition in the Yacht Club world recognizes excellence in all areas of the operation, membership, and facilities. This year, it is a privilege to welcome 15 new clubs into the Platinum Yacht Club family, which acknowledges the 50 finest Yacht Clubs in the World from 14 different countries.”

These are the 50 Most Exclusive Yacht Clubs of the World, Asia-Pacific, and Europe honored by Club Leaders Forum with Platinum Status for 2022-2023. (Listing is alphabetical only and not by rank.) *Indicates new additions to honor roll.

Discover the best yacht clubs in the world

Published 15 November 2023

Renowned for their historic sailing traditions, stunning locations and exclusive membership, the most prestigious yacht clubs in the world offer a unique social hub for like-minded yachting enthusiasts to enjoy. As social venues go, the worlds these clubs inhabit have the upper hand, particularly during some of their regattas. Burgess takes a look behind the scenes at some of the best yacht clubs in the world.

What is a yacht club: history.

Founded in 1720, the Royal Cork Yacht Club was a forerunner and became the first formally established yacht club in the world. Before this time, yachts were typically owned by royalty, but as non-royals began to purchase or build their own yachts to sail and race, clubs began to form to aid in the organisation of such races and regattas.

Then, and now, few institutions compete with the exclusivity and prestige of a yacht club. Whether founded by a prince, boasting a rich history and tradition, or as a recent addition to the most highly ranked yacht clubs in the world, being an esteemed member of any of these yacht clubs is the pinnacle of yachting for many. The majority of the clubhouses are located in iconic seaside settings (or in major cities, as is the case for the New York Yacht Club) and have world-class amenities. Upholding sailing traditions to this day, every yacht club will organise regattas and racing, and a few have also become training centres for young sailors.

Members can also benefit from club facilities which can include anything from grand and stately rooms for entertaining and socialising in, to swimming pools, concierge services, high-end restaurants, and, most importantly, a yachting community to socialise and network with. With all this typically comes a high joining and membership fee and a rigorous application process, including recommendations and meticulous screening, meaning that the resulting membership pool are a close-knit community of generally like-minded people.

What to wear to a yacht club?

Remaining traditional, most yacht clubs have specific guidelines for dress code inside their clubs. Depending on the time of day or event, the dress code for men is usually collared shirts or polos rather than t-shirts, with trousers rather than shorts and closed-toe shoes. Ties are not usually required for lunch, and, given the locations of most of the clubs, light colours and light fabrics are also advisable.

For ladies, tops should not be strappy or too casual, while skirts or dresses should be a suitable length. Trousers for ladies are also acceptable at most clubs, while footwear of any style, other than trainers or flip flops, are allowed. Hats of any sort are usually also forbidden inside.

The best yacht clubs in the world

There are thousands of yacht clubs in the world but only a handful are considered to be elite . Whether famed for their historic sailing traditions, their sumptuous settings or their excellent facilities, one thing all of our selected yacht clubs have in common is their exclusive and respected membership.

The Royal Yacht Squadron

Not quite the world’s oldest club, but one of the most famous of the historic ones, the Royal Yacht Squadron (RYS) was established in 1815. Originally set up as a local club by 42 original members with an interest in yachting, its royal association began just two years after its founding when the Prince Regent, later King George IV, became a member. Later on, when he acceded to become King, it was then renamed the Royal Yacht Squadron and its clubhouse is Cowes Castle on the Isle of Wight, UK.

The club has always attracted famous and illustrious members. As well as George IV, Nelson’s Captain at Trafalgar Admiral Sir Thomas Hardy was a founder member, and later the explorer Robert Falcon Scott (Scott of the Antarctic). These famous members and royal associations secured its reputation as one of the most influential yachting establishments. It was RYS’s commodore who originally challenged the New York Yacht Club and their racing yacht America to a round-the-island race in 1851 – a contest now known as the America’s Cup (see NYYC below). The RYS also initiated the regatta racing rule which mandates racing yachts to give way to the vessel on the starboard tack (a rule which must have saved countless accidents since its inception).

royal yacht clubs around the world

Today the club hosts several regattas, the most famous of which is Cowes Week. There are just over 500 members of the Royal Yacht Squadron, 75 of whom are Naval members and 60 of whom are Honorary members.  Only British yacht club members are permitted to fly the White Ensign on their yachts – a unique privilege for Squadron members only those dates back to 1829 when it was gifted to them by King William, who was himself a member. Membership to the club is by recommendation from existing members and subject to a secret ballot.

New York Yacht Club

The New York Yacht Club (NYYC) was established in 1844 by John Cox Stevens. He was the owner of the schooner America, with which he triumphed against a fleet of British yachts in 1851 in what became the prequel to the America’s Cup race named after his vessel. Between 1857 and 1983 the NYYC then successfully defended the cup a further 25 times, before eventually losing it to the Royal Perth Yacht Club’s yacht AUSTRALIA II. This was and still is the longest winning streak (in terms of years) in any sport.

royal yacht clubs around the world

From transatlantic victories to its famous ‘cruises’, the club has been a founder of many of yachting’s great firsts. Since losing the cup to Australia in 1983, the club has welcomed younger sailors to its two clubhouses: one in a stunning Beaux-Arts building in Manhattan and the other in a grander waterfront location in Newport, Rhode Island.  The former is a jacket and tie establishment, and the latter provides members with access to the ideal sailing conditions promised by the deep waters around Rhode Island. Today, the club’s burgee, which only club members are permitted to fly, is recognised the yachting world over.

Yacht Club de Monaco

Founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, the Yacht Club de Monaco is a relatively new entrant to the scene which nevertheless holds a unique position in international yachting. Created from the old Société des Regates, its aim was to promote yachting within the Principality, and judging by the number of yachts which populate Monaco’s Port Hercule it has certainly succeeded. The Club is twinned with several clubs, including two of the world’s leading yacht clubs – the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona. Members are therefore able to participate in sporting activities held between clubs and access each other’s clubhouse and facilities.

royal yacht clubs around the world

The Yacht Club de Monaco’s major focus is racing, but the social scene is not far behind. This is a club with such an exclusive members’ list that although it is the place to be seen, the members remain discreet. His Royal Highness, Prince Sovereign Albert II, has been Club President since 1984 and is also responsible for the clubhouse that opened in 2014.

Located at the heart of the Principality overlooking Port Hercules, the futuristic-styled Norman Foster designed building resembles a yacht with a series of deck-like terraces, all offering spectacular views over the Mediterranean. A fantastic venue for socialising and entertaining with all manner of events for the yachting community, including exclusive parties and events throughout the Monaco Yacht Show , the clubhouse is also home to the 1909 Restaurant, the Sunrise Restaurant, the Aquarama Riva Bar, Observatory Deck, and the Ballroom. Members also have access to a large outdoor swimming pool and lounge deck area.

Membership is extremely limited and prospective candidates are rigorously vetted. Applications must be supported by two existing members and if successful, they are welcomed with a party and dinner in their honour. Given its exclusive nature, a formal dress code for day and evening wear is mandatory for all.

Yacht Club Costa Smeralda

Founded in 1967 by HH the Aga Khan, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) is one of the leading yacht clubs in the Mediterranean. Amongst the world’s most eminent yachting destinations, Sardinia’s Porto Cervo and the surrounding waters are the club’s main draw. This coastline provides ideal conditions for sailing and as a result the club hosts some of the world’s most prestigious regattas, including the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the Rolex Swan Cup, and the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta.

royal yacht clubs around the world

Aside from its impressive racing calendar, the YCCS has become one of the most luxurious locations for superyachts throughout the summer season. With an impressive social scene, the clubhouse literally buzzes with high-profile members stepping ashore from their yachts to enjoy its many amenities. The clubhouse itself also offers a panoramic pool terrace, al fresco dining, a wellness centre and spa, and a member’s lounge and bar, while also located within walking distance is the Pevero Golf Club and Cala Granu Beach.

Membership is strict, with a new member having to be proposed by two current members. A Club Uniform is available for YCCS members and must be worn if participating in certain events when members are officially representing the Club. Evening attire also requires the typical clubhouse attire, with long trousers and a shirt (no t-shirts) and closed shoes for men, while ladies must wear a suitable length skirt or trousers.  Along with the Yacht Club de Monaco, the YCCS is twinned with the prestigious New York Yacht Club and the Royal Yacht Squadron.

St Francis Yacht Club

The St Francis Yacht Club (StFYC) is one of the world’s most prestigious sailing clubs. It is also one of the oldest American yacht clubs, having been founded in 1927 when a few members from the San Francisco Yacht Club decided to move their clubhouse from Sausalito to Belvedere.

Today, the Mediterranean Revival-style clubhouse affords dazzling views over the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the infamous Alcatraz. More importantly, it provides access to some of the most spectacular sailing waters in the world, with berthing on the shores of San Francisco Bay and access to the private Tinsley Island in the Sacramento Delta.

royal yacht clubs around the world

St Francis Yacht Club members enjoy a busy schedule of racing events, including the Rolex Big Boat Series. The Club also hosts a series of social events within its clubhouse dining and multiple event spaces. The dress code for social engagements is formal, with clubhouse attire post 6pm requiring jackets for men and the equivalent evening dress for ladies. Membership to the club is by invitation only, with nominations sponsored by between one and three existing members based on the level of membership required.

Dubai Marina Yacht Club

It may not hold the historic prestige of the other yacht clubs featured here, but what the Dubai Marina Yacht Club lacks in history it certainly makes up for in facilities and luxury. Located in the heart of New Dubai, the Club is one of the largest yacht clubs in the world, encompassing five marinas located along the Persian Gulf coastline. Enveloped by soaring skyscrapers on either side, the Club House Marina lies at the heart of the Dubai Marina Yacht Club, while the West Bay Marina is perfectly located for ease of access to the sea.

East Marina and the Marina Promenade offer an array of restaurants and shopping arcades, and the Marina Mall is the entertainment and retail hub. Member lounges are spread across the facility, including the Aquara Lounge and the Yots Sports lounge.  Amenities across all marinas include several member lounges and a 24/7 concierge service. Being a Dubai Marina Yacht Club member allows for berthing perks, a 24/7 concierge service, access to water taxis, pools, and gyms, and invites to yachting events dedicated to showcasing the region’s geography and culture.

Grand Bahama Yacht Club

With its easily navigated deep-water marina on the island of Grand Bahama, the Grand Bahama Yacht Club in Freeport is one of the most prominent marinas in the Caribbean. Welcoming large yachts to its convenient location just to the north of The Bahamas archipelago, the Club is a designated Bahamas Port of Entry and often the first port-of-call in The Bahamas for yachts coming from Florida.

Membership of the Grand Bahama Yacht Club includes access to the turn-of-the-century modern clubhouse with its European architecture and lush tropical landscaping. It also has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and 24/7 security.

Cruising Yacht Club of Australia

Founded in 1944, The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) has become Australia’s most prestigious yacht club. Host to the famous Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, the club has world-class facilities for both the sailing elite and its members, who also enjoy access to the club’s comprehensive sailing programme.

Nestled along the Rushcutters Bay foreshore, the modern clubhouse enjoys stunning harbour views, a large 213-berth marina, function rooms, and other clubhouse amenities including a bar and lounge. Membership to the CYCA is on a referral basis.

Barbados Yacht Club

The Barbados Yacht Club is located on Carlisle Bay and as such it provides access to stunning beaches and ideal sailing conditions that the Caribbean is known for. From the beach bar to tennis to a host of sailing programmes, members benefit from a wide array of both sailing and social activities.

Like many of the other clubs in this list, the Barbados Yacht Club hosts a variety of regattas, including the Mount Gay Rum Barbados Regatta along with recreational activities like tennis and sailing programmes, while the clubhouse also has a restaurant and bar for socialising. royal yacht clubs around the world

With more than 5 000 active members, the Royal Swedish Yacht Club (KSSS)can boast a dynamic club life, but above all a promising young sailors, an additional guarantee for its durability.

Written by Aurore Teodoro – Photos: KSSS Archive, Henrik Trygg, Sjöhistoriska museet, Johan Danielson & All rights reserved

Founded in Stockholm in May 1830, the Kungl Svenska Segel Sallskapet – “KSSS” (Royal Swedish Yacht Club) is the 6th oldest yachting club in the world and the 2nd oldest outside of the British Isles. Founded by a few rich bourgeois from Stockholm who wanted to organise regattas in the area under a common flag, the club quickly took on a new dimension and made a name for itself on the international stage. In 1851, the schooner America won a large race at Cowes outside southern England, which has become now the America´s cup. From 1908 on, KSSS has been participating in almost every Olympic regatta with an amazing record of four Gold, five Silver and three Bronze medals.

Over the decades, the club has had yachts and sailors taking part in regattas like America’s Cup, Whitbread around The World Race and VOLVO Ocean Race, Bermuda Race, Fastnet Race and many others. The Swedish club also organizes many international regatta, starting with the most famous one: the offshore race Gotland Runt (The Round Gotland Race), created in 1937. Since then, this event has grown to be the world’s largest annual offshore regatta with 250 boats sailing the 360 nautical miles. Located today in Saltsjöbaden, about 20 km from the Swedish capital, KSSS enjoys an exceptional environment in the middle of the Stockholm archipelago, and today has marinas on several of these islands. Second largest sailing club in the world, the club has 5 200 active members. Among them, the club has always had professional sailors, but also many boatbuilders and sailmakers, and creative amateur sailors. One such example is Sven Salén (grandfather of the current Commodore), who invented the genoa jib while racing a 6-metre in Genoa 1927.

Note that about 40% of the members are juniors, whose activities is one of the club’s core activities. The Youth Committee was originally founded as early as 1909 and has had a fantastic development. The club has three camp islands and two more harbours for youth education. Over 1 000 youths are participating each year at camps and training activities and the club owns almost 200 boats of different kind to support all the activities. The camps are all managed by younger members between 17 – 30 years who are responsible for all activities on the island, from cooking to education, and act as important role models for the children. The ambition is to both inspire the youths to a lifelong sailing interest but also teach them what they need to know about sailing including friendship, team work and the hardship of being a world class sailor. The future promises to live up to its history.

Commodore Patrik Salén: “One of the broadest sailing programs in the world”

Interview by Jean-Marc Moreno – Photos: KSSS Archive, Henrik Trygg, Sjöhistoriska museet, Johan Danielson & All rights reserved

A racer since an early age, Patrik Salén has sailed on many units: dinghies, keelboats and even big boats. A member of the Royal Swedish Yacht since 1985, he has become the Commodore since March 2018, after serving five years on the Board.

What are the specificities of your Yacht Club?

We are one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world (2nd oldest outside the British Isles), one of the largest clubs in terms of our membership base and we offer one of the broadest sailing programs in the world. From kids camps via training programs for youth and adults, numerous regattas and wide scope of member activities onto Olympic ambitions via our elite sailors. We have conquered 12 olympic medals through our members and numerous proud victories in international events, including numerous World and European championship titles but also Whitbread/Volvo Ocean Race and Fastnet Race winners.

How many members do you have?

We have over 5 200 members. About 300 are foreign nationals, which represents about 9% of the senior members, given that close to 2 000 are “junior members”, i.e. below 20 years of age.

What are your key events?

We deliver about 10 youth camps per years at the 2 club islands in the archipelago, in addition to the regular spring and fall training activities. We regularly arrange about 20 regattas per years, from smaller local one-design or handicap races, to our prime events such as the Gotland Runt (The Round Gotland Race); the World’s largest annual offshore race as well as the Olympic Class Regatta; Sweden’s largest annual youth regatta and our oldest regatta from 1897, the Sandhamn’s regatta.

What is your best memory as Commodore?

During my relatively short time so far as Commodore, I am especially proud of the continued strong support from our members and volunteers. Our members show loyalty and critical support in so many fashions; from participation in our various events, to engagement when the club needs support around its youth activities all the way to assisting our elite sailors working towards their Olympic dreams. We are also blessed with a large group of volunteers making our ambitious annual program possible. I am also proud that we this year celebrate our 190-year birthday; in truly unique times I see KSSS as a clear beacon of light in the yachting community, that will remain strong also in a distant future. It is also fulfilling that our strategic sustainability initiative keeps momentum; both within the club as well with partners and other organization.

What would you consider to be the advantages of a twinning with Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM)?

We consider YCM one of the truly premiere yacht clubs in the world and we are very proud of our “twinning” agreement with Monaco. We see in a YCM a yacht club that both has a strong and proud heritage within the yachting community, while also highly present in the sailing world of today, from youth activities to large international events.

How do these take concrete form?

The concrete forms of our reciprocal agreement include member privileges at our respective clubs that I know many members enjoy. In addition, I know our participation in YCM arrangements such as the optimist team racing each January as well as various other regattas as the J70 series especially appreciated amongst our members.

5 Exclusive Yacht Clubs Around the World

When it comes to exclusivity, few institutions come close to matching the prestige of the yacht club. It can take years to get on the waiting list for some of the most exclusive yacht clubs on this list. Simply owning a yacht is only a small part of the yachting lifestyle, however; partaking in the vibrant culture of the club community is what the sport is all about. Here are some of the most prestigious yacht clubs from around the globe.

Exclusive yacht club Monaco harbor

New York Yacht Club, New York, United States

New York Prestigious Yacht Club

The combined efforts of nine sportsmen resulted in the creation of the New York Yacht Club in 1844, one of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the United States. Centuries later, the NYYC’s primary clubhouse in midtown Manhattan has come to represent a quintessential New York landmark. Being a member of this club means belonging to one of the most exclusive yacht clubs in the world. Aside from being nominated by an existing member, a candidate must be able to prove a significant achievement in the sport. Notable members include J.P. Morgan and Harold Stirling Vanderbilt, as well as Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Royal Yacht Squadron, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom

No list of exclusive yacht clubs would be complete without a mention of the Royal Yacht Squadron . With a rich history that dates back to the year 1815 as well as a castle for a clubhouse, the RYS is one of the oldest and grandest yacht clubs in history. It’s impossible to buy a membership; you must be voted in by a current member and approved by secret ballot. Prior to 2013, only men were allowed to be members—a restriction so exclusive that the Queen was once denied entry.

Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong Lifestyle

Home to the Rolex China Sea Race, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club had its first meeting in 1849. It boasts a total of three clubhouses, and members have access to some of the most expansive views of the Hong Kong skyline. Facilities accompanying membership are many, and include everything from a bowling alley to book and video library. Club membership fees vary according to category, but a standard individual membership costs $1,850,000 HKD (about $238,500 USD). Membership is open to the public when there are vacancies, but applicants with extensive sailing or rowing experience are considered first.

Yacht Club de Monaco, Monaco, French Riviera

Monaco didn’t earn its nickname “Capital of Yachting” for nothing. As much as it’s a favorite port destination for yachters around the world, the Yacht Club de Monaco is highly difficult to join so it lands a well deserved place on our list of most prestigious yacht clubs. Founded by Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1953, it remains one of the most exclusive yacht clubs in the world, with the application process requiring multiple sponsorships.

Aside from breathtaking views from the heart of the harbor, facilities include a rowing club and sailing school as well as an observation deck, a pool, guest cabins and a fitness center. Preserving tradition is a serious part of the YCM’s philosophy : the club maintains a strict dress code and naval code of etiquette, and requires active participation in the social calendar.

Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Sydney, Australia

Rushcutters Bay, Sydney, Australia

The youngest to make the list, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia began in 1944 and has since become the top yacht club in Australia. The club’s race schedule includes the illustrious Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race . Its 2,700 members enjoy full use of the stunningly picturesque Rushcutters Bay clubhouse (home to the Sydney Hobart Bar) as well as plenty of races, prize givings and social events.

Though there are many yacht clubs worldwide, each with varying degrees of difficulty in terms of accessibility, one thing remains certain. Belonging to the right yacht club ensures that you receive the full yachting experience , with all of the honor and tradition that comes with the sport.

The Royal Engineer Yacht Club (REYC) was founded in 1846 in support of the water-based activities that mattered to the Royal Engineers in their professional capacity and that they enjoyed in their free time.

As one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world the REYC has a distinguished history that includes entries in every Fastnet Race, and winning the first one, many ocean racing trophies, pivotal roles in the establishment of the Whitbread Around the World Race, many circumnavigations and an enduring commitment to introducing the challenges of sailing to serving soldiers.

As a Service charity the REYC's charter focuses its activities on developing the watermanship skills of Royal Engineers while providing recreation, excitement, fun and personal development opportunities to all involved.

Its Members .

The REYC is made up of Serving and Retired personnel from the Royal Engineers, or Sappers as we are often known. It caters for the Regular and Reserves and all of its activities are open to all ranks and levels of experience.

In addition the club encourages the participation of soldiers' families. When the club's yachts are not in use for Adventurous Training, RYA Courses or racing they are available to charter by club members and members of other affiliated Service Yacht Clubs.

The members of the club and the Royal Engineers Sports and Games fund privately fund all of the club's activities; It receives no public money beyond occasional grants for safety equipment.

Its Activities .

Today the REYC caters for all aspects of sailing from yacht racing to kite-surfing. It operates four MCA Coded charter yachts as well as a variety of sail boards, dinghies and related equipment.

The club's primary focus is on introducing novices to sailing, and then allowing them to develop to their full potential. It funds, instructs, coaches and mentors sailors from absolute beginner to Yachtmaster, dinghy racer or competitive kite-surfer.

In recent years the club has repeatedly been the Army Champions in offshore racing, has campaigned multiple entries in the UK's offshore racing circuit and amassed a wealth of silverware for its members' endeavours in inshore sports. In addition it has supported and deployed expeditions across the globe as well as running countless smaller courses and expeditions closer to home.

The new Four Seasons yacht will set sail in 2026.

Four Seasons has long set the gold standard for luxury accommodations on land and is renowned for its exquisite hotels that offer unparalleled comfort and service. Now, this legacy of luxury is extending its reach to the seas. In a groundbreaking move, Four Seasons Yachts , in collaboration with Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd and the esteemed Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, is introducing an ambitious venture into luxury sea travel. Scheduled to set sail in 2026, this initiative promises an experience that transcends traditional cruising, offering voyages across the mesmerizing waters of the Caribbean and the historic coasts of the Mediterranean.

Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the brand's hallmark of guest-centered luxury to the high seas. According to Reynal, this expansion into yachting is a natural extension of Four Seasons' commitment to providing personalized, elegant, and comfortable experiences. The aim is clear: to redefine luxury hospitality, but this time, against the backdrop of the world's most stunning seascapes.

The suites are breathtaking.

The inaugural season of Four Seasons Yachts is poised to offer something truly special. With ten unique voyages planned, travelers will have the opportunity to explore over 130 distinct destinations across more than 30 countries and territories. Each itinerary has been meticulously crafted, allowing guests the flexibility to design their own sea adventure. From the lively atmospheres of Caribbean islands like Saint Barthélemy and Martinique to the cultural richness of Mediterranean gems, including the Greek Isles and Croatia, these voyages promise a blend of well-loved destinations and hidden treasures.

The spacious cabins have incredible views.

Accommodations aboard the yacht are set to be a marvel in themselves. Ninety-five suites, conceived by the creative minds of Fredrik Johannson at Tillberg Design of Sweden and Creative Director Prosper Assouline, are designed to be sanctuaries of tranquility at sea. Each suite, envisioned with elegant interiors, expansive views, and a residential feel, aims to provide guests with a sense of being at home away from home. Among these, the Funnel and Loft Suites stand out for their sheer luxury and space. They offer unique features such as splash pools, outdoor showers, and breathtaking panoramic views, setting a new benchmark for luxury accommodations on water.

The pool deck features a bar and lounge chairs.

Beyond the exquisite suites, the yacht will feature various amenities designed to cater to every guest's needs. With eleven dining options, a comprehensive spa and wellness center, a state-of-the-art marina, and an innovative pool area capable of hosting events, the yacht ensures a variety of experiences that enrich the journey.

“We’re building a stunning seafaring venture that will be enjoyed as a yacht experience rather than a cruise experience," says Thatcher Brown, chief commercial officer and head of joint operations at luxury shipping specialist Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, the joint owner/operator of the Four Seasons Yachts brand. "The intrinsic value of Four Seasons brand leadership in luxury hospitality combined with the passionate pioneering spirit and expertise of the project team is manifested in the creation of truly special Four Seasons Yachts experiences."

The best golf clubs in moscow: luxury, exclusivity, and entertainment.

  • The Best Golf Clubs in…

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Some of them have made it to the list of Top 15 golf clubs in the world, a source of great prestige for the country.

The first 18-hole golf course built in Russia, Moscow Country Club, hosts the exclusive PGA European Tour. Located just eight miles from the city center, this luxurious facility was created by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr . The design takes advantage of a typical Russian birch and spruce forest to provide a natural environment of extraordinary beauty.

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■

“Breakfast & Lunch among friends”

The Breakfast Club has been a locally-owned Moscow breakfast staple for 12 years. The food is delicious, and the portions are appropriate (not gigantic). They have stuffed biscuits and gravy which is biscuits cut in half with eggs and bacon in the middle, covered in in-house made sausage gravy. If you are ever in Moscow in the wee hours of the morning, this is the place to stop!!!
