We’re proud of our great reputation for good food, serving up culinary delights 7 days a week. Sourcing fresh, local produce from around Hampshire, Dorset and along the South Coast, only working with producers who share our ethos for excellent quality and sustainability. Back in the kitchen we prepare every dish fresh to order and plate up your meal with care and a dash of flair, ready for you to tuck in.

Our restaurant is light and airy and even though we can’t always guarantee a window table, you’ll be able to see the view from any table with our wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows.

Here’s a taste of what might be on today’s menu.

Hounds at The Haven – We welcome dogs on the terrace and in the bar area, we even have water bowls and treats for them, but please do not bring dogs into the restaurant area. If you wish to book a table and bring a dog, just call in advance and we will reserve a dog-friendly table for you in the bar/snug area.

Window Tables - All our restaurant tables have great views however we can’t always guarantee a table directly next to a window.

We came here for lunch at the weekend after being recommended by the manager at The Huntsman where we were staying. I booked a table in advance which is highly recommended as it was very busy. The food was very nice. We opted for sandwiches... and soups which were proper, doorstop sized sandwiches and tasty homemade soup. It's not the cheapest of places, but very nicely decorated, tentative staff and nice environment. It's not cheap - our lunch of 6 oysters, 3 sandwiches, soup, 500ml wine, 3 pints was just over £100 - but we were on holiday and enjoyed it so believe it was worth it! :-) More

Fantastic as always. One of our most favourite places to eat when in Lymington. The outdoor terrace is currently first come first served, but bookings are required to eat inside. Glad to see The Haven busy again. 😊

Did ask if possible for window table on booking as first visit and special occasion, but couldn’t book window table on website, was one table left at 7:30pm, with a view so thought we were in luck, only to be told it was reserved! So... a bit disappointed. Our table was next to condiments with view of entrance door and service station. However food was excellent, lovely short menu with beautiful fish and seafood dishes. Wine a little expensive, cocktails good. Starters, mains ,deserts bottle of water and wine, cocktails, service charge total for 4 £229. More

I had lunch here two weeks ago and enjoyed the Dressed Crab, served in the shell, with Salad and Fries. It was so good that I ordered it again upon my return with a friend tonight. What a disappointment - it was served in a... scallop shell and had clearly been defrosted. It was very cold and wet in the middle and the texture was unpleasant. No one checked that we were enjoying our meal. Out of politeness I ate half of the crab. When our server collected our plates I told her that the crab was poor and she kindly took the cost of it off the bull. We shared Hoummous to start then my friend enjoyed their Fish Curry. I’ll likely be back another time. More

The Haven has changed many, many times over the decades and has a prime location overlooking the marina. They have staggered bookings and removed many tables to work with the new restrictions. Very friendly service but accuracy from the kitchen/menu to servers would help. We... all wanted the scallops main course that was £20 with no sides, so asked how many scallops were in the main. We were told 8 or 9, but when they arrived there were 6 each. And disappointingly, one of the four of us got really small ones! It tasted truly delicious but would have felt better value at £20 if there had been 2/3 more. More

Had dinner there on Tuesday evening after sailing in from Portsmouth it's a great location especially when the weather allows drinking outside Had the Haven Burger which at £16.50 is not cheap I complained about it being over cooked and dry as a bone. As a one time Regular local resident customers we were very excited to go with friends for lunch. 27August. Our first visit since lockdown. As our friends had made the booking we have to assume that the necessary Track & Trace details had been taken.... As none asked in the restaurant. Whilst there were plenty of staff they were not attentive to most customers, including ourselves, as busy chatting amongst themselves . Drinks order was fairly swift, first time around. Service of food and clearing slow and the wait for dessert menu, never came until one of us got up to ask for it. The food overall was good. Trying go order extra drinks difficult. However, the service was poor. It was evident no supervision , no manager. We know one has left. We felt very sorry for one young lady who tried dry hard and apologised many times for poor service and lack of attention. A great pity. We like to support local businesses, this is not the way to go. The tourists will soon be gone More

We booked the day before, and had a table with a superb view - just lovely. Having arrived, we had breakfast and were really pleasantly surprised to receive two big plates of very well cooked food. Nice thick back bacon, good quality sausages, mushrooms and... eggs however you want them cooked. Really nice. Very nice people working there too. We will definitely be back. More

Vegetarian unfriendly! Just had a meal here with my other half. He’s a meat / fish eater. I’m a vegetarian. The only vegetarian main option on the menu was risotto. I can’t abide risotto so asked if anything else could be done. I was told... “this is a fish restaurant so it’s hard”!! To be fair I was offered the fish curry without the fish - but didn’t trust that fish sauce wasn’t in it so declined. I ended up having two very mediocre starters & some sides. My partner had a fabulous meal. But, as they don’t actually cater good or even slightly imaginative food for vegetarians we will not be going back - which is a shame because my partner really enjoyed the place. More

What a fantastic find. Great location overlooking the busy boatyard, always plenty to watch. We had booked and having spent an idyllic morning strolling the Solent Way we chose to sit inside as the remaining outside tables were in full sun. Very friendly service. We... chose oysters as a starter ( fabulous) followed by squid salad and scallops ( so good) Fair price for what we enjoyed. We would even consider driving from Chichester in the future on a sunny day, for another such experience. More

Had a few drinks there after walking the nature trail and was so impressed with the place that we eat there one evening. I have a meaty burger and my partner the fish. With wine, starter and dearest the bill came to £75 including service... which is tagged onto bill. Service was very good so no complaints there. Great views of the boats at sea and in the harbour. Some going for sale at starting price of £250k. Will stick to looking at them. More

Whilst on a bike ride along the solent coastline I stopped at The Haven for a well earned coffee and bite of breakfast. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the only entrance is up the outside steps to the outside tables, not sure if they can cater... indoors if it's raining. The table service was excellent with the extra hot cappuccino I requested (which satisfyingly was extra hot and a delicious bacon roll also cooked as requested. I could not fault the service or breakfast and shall return soon, possibly on my next bike ride to Lymington. More

Arrived for dinner and was welcomed by two very friendly and professional managers - Val and Christina. Before being seated at our restaurant table, we sat out on the terrace and experienced the amazing views over the marina. As someone who was worried about going... out during the pandemic, I was filled with reassurance when I saw staff frequently sanitising their hands, ensuring customers were seated and adhering to the social distancing guidelines. Additionally, we were kindly asked to complete a track and trace form which is great to see. In regard to food, it was nothing but exceptional. The restaurant was fully booked and yet the quality of food had not suffered, neither did we have to wait around for our food. The restaurant staff were brilliant and always happy to help. We shared a beautiful Baked Camembert for staters before moving on to the Fish Curry and the Fish and Chips. The Fish Curry was full of carefully thought out flavours and the fish was cooked perfectly. Moreover, The Haven's talented chefs have taken the classic Fish and Chips to another level. Very well done. We ended the night with a few drinks from the wine and cocktail list. All drinks were delivered promptly and the bar staff staff were very helpful at offering recommendations. I would like to thank Tom for making the best Old Fashioned I have ever had and his great customer service. Very well done Haven, I will certainly be returning! More

We weren't quite sure of what to expect at the Haven; at first glance the online menu didn't look too inspiring, but as we were staying for a few nights on a boat in the marina, we thought that it would make for an easy... first night's meal. And we were very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant itself is a very nice place. On something of a nautical theme, as one might expect, with a lovely view over the boats and with adequately spaced tables for the times we are in. The staff were all delightful and efficient. We felt quite comfortable although, as with many other restaurants, we would have felt even more so if staff had been wearing masks or visors. As it turned out, the menu we were given on the night was much more interesting than the one we had seen online. We both had scallops to start, served with a pea puree and thin crispy pieces of parma ham. These were absolutely delicious. My wife followed on with dressed crab, which she very much enjoyed, while I went for the Bouillabaisse. Wow! It was lovely! Several large prawns, plenty of mussels still on their shells, several different types of fish, and a beautifully tasty juice. Interestingly, although we had eaten very well, we were not over full and both made room for a sticky toffee pudding dessert; yummy! All in all, a very nice eating experience indeed. More

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday lunch. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. We sat inside and there was a fabulous view over the Solent. It was so nice not to be rushed and the staff were... very attentive without being at all intrusive. My boyfriend said it was the best lunch he has ever had. He chose the crab whilst I had the trio of salmon, all beautifully presented and tasted divine. The cocktails were also very good too. We loved it, thoroughly recommend! More
