Dr. Nichols on Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary dubbed 'most obnoxious charter guest' ever

Dr. Nichols, Below Deck primary guest, drinks, demands and displays way too much in episode 11

Daisy Kelliher dealing with Dr. Nichols, Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary guest, during season 3 episode 11

Bad news for the Parsifal III crew: it looks like Charles Sanders and Erica Rose have officially been dethroned as Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's most nightmarish guests of season three.

Meet Dr. Nichols, a Connecticut-based dermatologist who charters the boat with her husband Chris Cabanillas and their friends in episode 11 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 . Already short-staffed by the departures of deckhand Tom Pearson and second stew Gabriela Barragan , the crew is quickly swamped by Nichols and her group's relentless requests and constant complaints.

"He's very particular," chief stew Daisy Kelliher warns her coworkers about one of the guests, who gripes about both the bacon and shrimp in his Bloody Mary: "A little weak on the bacon...you need two stalks of bacon. I asked for two jumbo shrimp, look at the size of these things."

"If a guest is going to complain about something like this at the beginning of a charter...I know there's more coming, it's not going to end," Chef Marcos Spaziani worries.

The demands extend beyond the kitchen, with Dr. Nichols and company wanting every item of clothing steamed, requesting more sun loungers than the boat physically had onboard, loudly complaining about how much the charter costs ($60,000, FYI) and asking for Daisy to "juice grapes" for a bar concoction called a "Transfusion."

"I definitely don't think these guests realize we are a stew down, but even if they did, I don't think they'd give a f*ck," the chief stew says in a confessional.

Things hit a new low during one particularly drunk dinner, which the group requested to have at 10pm, keeping the entire crew up late. Wearing a very revealing top, Dr. Nichols is immortalized as "Dr. Nipples" thanks to an ill-timed wardrobe malfunction at the dining table while Chef Marcos relays that evening's menu. The group gets progressively drunker and at one point, one guest physically tosses money at Daisy as an "apology" for their behavior.

Fans have plenty to say about Dr. Nichols, Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary

These guests… no. Hate everything about ‘em. Everything. And the primary complained about the charter fare… on air… so the tip will be little to nothing. #WalkThePlank #belowdecksailing #BelowDeckSailingYacht #BDSY @BelowDeckSailng May 10, 2022

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht': Dr Kim Nichols and group dubbed as 'most obnoxious charter guests ever'

Charter guests being difficult on the 'Below Deck' franchise is nothing new, but making the crew stay up late and constantly complaining about terrible service in front of them definitely doesn't earn the guests any brownie points. The recently aired episode of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' featured Dr. Kim Nichols, a dermatologist from Greenwich Connecticut, and her husband Chris Cabanillas, chartering the Parsifal III for a luxury vacation with their friends.

With Gabriela Barragan deciding to quit mid-season, chief stew Daisy Kelliher and Ashley Marti were left to handle the whole service themselves. Though Daisy and Ashley braced themselves to do some extra work , the stews didn't anticipate the amount of work that they would not only be burdened with but also put up with the unimaginable level of disrespect from the charter guests. From the get-go, the guests found the most mundane thing to complain about and demand. From asking the crew to steam every piece of clothing to complaining about the ice melting and being served with lukewarm drinks while sitting under the sun, the guests went above and beyond to make the interior team's lives a living nightmare.

Daisy had to single-handedly cater to all the demands of the guests which ranged from making drinks and playing music to fetching them warm blankets. Despite being exhausted, Daisy maintained her calm and composure and did her best to meet all the demands of the guests. The guests noticed that Daisy was handling everything by herself, but instead of being understanding or more considerate of her situation, they complained about bad service to her. The chief stewardess was left fuming when one of the guests threw money at her for the "aggravations" caused to her by their group.

After watching the guests' behavior, several fans took to Twitter to slam their inconsiderate behavior. A fan tweeted, "These guests are ridiculous #BelowDeckSailing." "I’ve never hated guests more, I can’t believe this woman is a doctor #belowdecksailing," wrote a fan. Considering all that Dr Nichols and her guests are putting the crew through, we can only hope that they tip generously unlike the Roses from earlier charter, whose abysmal tip earned them a lot of clap back.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: Competition For Worst Charter Guests?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht: Competition For Worst Charter Guests? [Credit: Bravo TV/YouTube]

Has Below Deck Sailing Yacht become a competition for the worst charter guests? That honor originally went to Erica Rose and her husband Charles Sanders. Erica returned for a second time with her mom, Cindi, and her husband, Charles Sanders. Fans called them vile and ignorant .

Charles made offensive comments about Chef Marcos Spaziani’s food. However, he claims that production told him to make those comments and that the show is scripted . Erica and Charles kind of apologized for their behavior and low trip drama. Kind of. Now, there’s a new group of charter guests that’s making fans forget all about Erica and Charles.

Dr. Kim Nichols’ charter group called “most obnoxious” charter guests

On the Monday, May 9 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Dr. Kim Nichols and her charter guests made their big appearance. However, their entrance came with big demands . Right away, the charter guests hounded chief stew Daisy Kelliher for drinks. There was no tour of the Parsifal III because they were already thirsty and hungry.

While difficult charter guests are common on Below Deck , this charter group may be hailed as the worst ones yet. Not only did they push dinner service late into the night, but they also made the crew stay up late to serve their every whim.

Since Gabriela Barragan quit the following episode , Daisy and Ashley Marti were down one person. They were left on their own to scramble for the guests. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht stews didn’t expect to be burned out and exhausted by the time the charter guests boarded the yacht. They had to deal with the constant demands and rude behavior.

One of the guests even threw money at Daisy. In her confessional, she told him where to shove it. Despite her exhaustion, Daisy maintained her composure and tried to keep up with the demands. Even though the guests were aware of her situation, they continued to complain about the service.

Has Below Deck Sailing Yacht become a competition for the worst charter guests?

The latest episode has Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans wondering if the show has become a competition for charter guests to act as obnoxious as possible. Most of them took to Twitter to call out their behavior. Suddenly, having Erica Rose and Charles back didn’t seem so bad.

“#BelowDeckSailing it never ceases to amaze me how ridiculously horrible the charter guests can be…do they NOT realize they are going to be on TV??? Stay CLASSY Dr. Nipples!!!” one fan wrote, referring to the time when Dr. Nichols’ had a wardrobe malfunction during dinner.

It’ll be interesting to see if Dr. Nichols and her crew will give the worst tip in the show’s history. That honor still goes to Erica Rose and Charles, whose tip caused controversy . Times When Below Deck Captains Made Questionable Decisions

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Below Deck Captains are the most critical component of the yacht crew, as they lead the entire team and are responsible for every guest onboard. While the Captains are usually spot on with their decision making, there have also been times where they have really dropped the ball.

We understand that being a Captain on a super yacht is stressful, but we just cannot fathom what these Captains were thinking during these moments.

Captain Sandy’s Bad Decision Making Caused Chaos On Below Deck Med Season 4

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 was nothing short of chaotic, and Captain Sandy Yawn is really the only one to blame. Things started to go wrong after it came to light that Chef Mila Kolomeitseva likely lied on her resume, as she struggled to cook basic dishes for the guests. Captain Sandy should have taken initiative and fired Mila immediately, but instead kept her around five episodes too long.

After taking way too long to fire Mila, Captain Sandy made another bad decision by deciding to give her position to 3rd Stew Anastasia Surmava . While Anastasia did her best and definitely whipped up better dishes than Mila, she was not professionally trained. When charter guests are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars, they deserve to have a Chef onboard who is the best of the best.

Captain Sandy eventually brought back Ben Robinson to be Chef for the remainder of the season, however, her decisions still had bad consequences for some of the crew. After Anastasia returned to her 3rd Stew position, Captain Sandy had to let go of June Foster , who had since stepped into the role. Captain Sandy failed to tell June that her position was temporary, which was another huge mistake.

While Captain Sandy is somewhat controversial , Below Deck viewers can agree that she knows what she is doing when it comes to running a boat. However, Captain Sandy was off her game throughout Season 4, which ultimately hurt both the crew and the guests. If Captain Sandy would have simply fired Mila sooner, the rest of the season’s chaos could have been avoided.

Captain Jason Messed Up By Firing Adam Kodra

Captain Jason Chambers from Below Deck Down Under is one of the most beloved Below Deck Captains, although even he makes critical mistakes. One of these would be his recent decision to fire Deckhand Adam Kodra , which enraged many fans.

Adam’s firing was mainly based around one mistake made onboard, in which he accidentally dropped an anchor too far into the water. Captain Jason explained that this mistake was not a small one, and could potentially pose a lot of danger to the boat. While Captain Jason and the exterior crew were able to resolve the issue, he still ultimately made the decision to terminate Adam’s employment because of it.

Captain Jason was wrong to fire Adam , since he was a huge team player regardless of his mistake. Adam took his role as Deckhand very seriously, and many viewers did not think he deserved to be fired. Others believe that Captain Jason should have fired Deckhand Culver Bradbury instead, since he does not take the position nearly as seriously as Adam did.

Captain Glenn Unfairly Blamed Daisy For Obnoxious Guests

Captain Glenn Shephard is another fan favorite Captain from Below Deck Sailing Yacht , although his judgment is not always the best. One of Captain Glenn’s worst judgment calls was when he blamed Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and the interior crew for a group of completely disrespectful guests.

During a one-on-one with Daisy, Captain Glenn called her out after the guests complained that they didn’t have any toilet paper. Daisy respectfully explained that the guests always had toilet paper, as she and the other Stews made sure their rooms were stocked. Captain Glenn then asked Daisy if she was implying that the guests were lying, which was just completely unreasonable.

While it is normal to expect the interior team to deliver only the highest quality of service, Captain Glenn should have been more trusting of Daisy’s word. The charter guests in question were particularly obnoxious, and seemingly went out of their way to make their rooms and beds messy. Captain Glenn had worked with Daisy for three seasons by this point, so he should have known that her work ethic is top tier.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Barrie Drewitt-Barlow claps back at haters slamming him for crew tip

Barrie Barlow-Drewitt defends Below Deck Sailing Yacht tip.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Barrie Drewitt-Barlow has clapped back at haters slamming him for crew tip.

There’s no question the Parsifal III crew had a challenging time with the nine guests, who were not pleased with the food.

It was a problematic charter, especially since the guests were highly demanding. Then again, the group did pay a pretty penny for the trip.

Barrie defends Below Deck Sailing Yacht tip

Fans watched as Captain Glenn Shephard told the crew Barrie left a $15,000 tip at the tension-filled tip meeting. The crew didn’t look pleased. After all, it was a four-day charter.

Social media blew up with fans expressing their disgust at the amount of the tip. The Drewitt-Barlow family can certainly afford a lot more.

The topic came up in one of Barrie’s Instagram posts promoting the family’s stint on the Bravo show. Barrie replied to several comments about the tip, making it clear the amount was based on service.

One comment stuck out, thanks to Barrie’s response. The user called out Barrie for the tip and suggested he buy each crew member a pair of shoes.

The remark kicked off a chain of replies with fans taking sides. The Barrie chimed in.

“If things would have been better, the tip would have been better! Maybe next time it will be, and I’ll leave more but right now when people all over the world have no money, no jobs, and no future, $15k is not something to look your nose down on! I wish someone would tip me that much Lol,” Barrie wrote.

Barrie reveals the final straw with service

On the last day of the charter, it was not only Tony Drewitt-Barlow’s birthday, but Barrie proposed to his fiancé, Scott. Natasha promised a spread of desserts, including two cakes, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and cotton candy for the kids.

The night of the party, it was revealed the two cakes were bought, and Natasha couldn’t be bothered with the cotton candy. Barrie made it known on the show that he was disappointed the group did not get what was promised to them.

One user brought up the store-bought cakes, which it turns out was the final straw for the primary guest.

“That was the “icing on the cake” for me! Walmart cakes!! h**l know!!” Barrie replied.

Whether fans love or hate them, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and his family made quite an impression on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

The tipping issue is not the first time Barrie has spoken out in defense of his family. Barrie blasted Daisy for making up lies and sharing false stories while googling the group.

What did you think of Barrie’s tip and response to it?

Primary Charter Guest Lane Merrifield & Other Guests From Charter 8

below deck sailing yacht obnoxious guests

Rich Canadian tech entrepreneur and co-founder of Club Penguin Lane Merrifield brought along a group of friends and his fiancé Amanda. This group of Canadians had a blast partying on the yacht, despite not being able to sail. They showed the crew how to do a hurricane, in which you take a shot, then have someone throw water in your face and slap you. They also had a sailing competition against the crew, which they narrowly lost.

Chef Marcos was put to the test because Lane requested molecular gastronomy , but as always, he rose to the challenge and wowed the guests.

These “classiest, funniest and kindest” charter guests left the crew the best tip of the season, $23,000 or $2,555 per crew member.

Primary Charter Guest Keely Washburn & Other Guests From Charter 7

Everything To Know About Keely Washburn & Other Charter Guests On Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

“Aspiring real estate agent” Keely Washburn, her friends and their moms were the guests on charter 7. This group of charter guests were well-behaved compared to Dr. Kim Nichols and Erica Rose’s groups.

The other charter guests alongside Keely were: friend Jennifer Husk, Husk’s mom Susan, friend Belinda Benham, Benham’s mom Debbie, friend Bailey Fuller, Bailey’s mom Wendy, and friend Jess Cimato.

The ladies didn’t get a lot of screen time to drama happening between the crew, but the most memorable moment was when some of the ladies called Chef Marcos “muy caliente” several times.

Keely and her gang left the crew $16,400, $1,820 for each crew member.

Primary Dr. Kim Nichols & Other Charter Guests From Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 Charter 6

Charter Guest Dr. Kim Nichols From Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Dr. Kim Nichols hasn’t yet come aboard Parsifal but she’s already making waves. Her preference sheet was read out by Captain Glenn Shephard in episode 10 and she wants all the crew to refer to her as “Dr. Nichols”.

Kim is a self-described celebrity cosmetic dermatologist with her own practice, called SkinLab , based in Greenwich, Connecticut. She is happily married to attorney Chris Cabanillas and is a mom of three children.

Kim made TV appearances on Megyn Kelly and Dr. Oz’s shows. Dr. Nichols’ Instagram mostly includes work-related posts of her and her employees conducting procedures and skincare advice.

Kim and her husband Chris chartered Parsifal III with their friends: Investment banker Dino and his wife Donna, Miami surgeon Pedro and his wife Adriana. The group tipped the crew $20,000, which resulted in each cast member making $2,500.

Primary Charter Guest Dawn, Husband & Friends From Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 Charter 5

below deck sailing yacht obnoxious guests

On charter 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3, charter guests Dawn Zacha and her husband Tim Miller join the crew to sail. The other guests on the charter include their friends: Marni and her husband Brian, Lauren and her husband Jamie.

On Dawn’s Instagram , she shares pictures of her enjoying life in Chicago with husband Tim and their daughter. Dawn’s an independent sales professional, vegan foodie who loves bikinis, yoga and dance. Her husband Tim is a software company CEO who loves sailing on Lake Michigan.

Her friends and husband don’t have their Instagram accounts set to private. On the show they have been relatively tame compared to other charter guests.

These charter guests were pleased with the service, and Dawn enjoyed her vegan meals. They left a generous charter tip of $20,000 or $2,500 for each crew member remaining after Tom’s firing.

4th Charter: Charter Guests Jim Blumenthal, Veronica, Chris, Ken, Rick & Marni

below deck sailing yacht obnoxious guests

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 Primary charter guest Jim Blumenthal owns businesses in Boulder, Colorado. He’s the President of Trailer Source and owns an RV dealership, per LinkedIn .

Jim and his friends were fairly easy-going while on the show, except they made the crew do a talent show. His long-term girlfriend Veronica stipulated the sailing yacht should be full of flowers. She’s a registered nurse.

Jim’s good friend Ken is another charter guest on the boat. He’s also a businessman who owns and operates office buildings. He’s a self-described comedian and is married to his wife Chris. She is in charge of the upkeep for their “multiple” homes across the US.

Jim and Veronica’s other friends invited as charter guests were Rick and Marni. Rick is a retired tech company executive and his wife Marni is in sales. Rick also loves to try rare and expensive wines.

Jim, Veronica and Co. left the cast a great tip of $21,000, or $25,030 for each crew member. Tom was fired in the middle of charter, so he was given only $760 in tip money.

3rd Charter: Charter Guests James Cox Junior, Bunny & Brother Tyler

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 Charter Guests James Cox, Bunny, and Tyler

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 charter guests James Cox Junior, his brother Tyler Cox , their “cougar” friend Amy “Bunny” Dunn and the guys’ dad James Cox Senior all had a blast on Parsifal III.

On their charter, the group had a great time despite the lack of wind for sailing. Tyler, a wine connoisseur, imbibed too much and passed out cold at the first dinner. Tyler took over the family tile business based in Florida. Meanwhile, James Jr. is a successful real estate broker based in Manhattan, New York.

Their long-time friend Amy Dunn posted on Instagram a lot on their trip. Amy, a stunning 51, had fun hitting on the male crew members.

James Sr. celebrated his 75th birthday while on the sailing yacht.

This group of guests gave the crew a tip total of $16,000 or $1,778 per person.

2nd Charter: Charter Guests Erica Rose & Charles Sanders

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Charter Guests Erica Rose and Husband Charles Sanders

Reality TV lover Erica Rose and her husband Charles Sanders made their mark in Below Deck charter guest history. They will not soon be forgotten as some of the worst charter guests to disgrace themselves on a yacht.

Erica Rose is an Instagram influencer and lawyer from Houston, Texas. She is an aspiring reality TV star who has been on The Bachelor , Bachelor Pad , Dr. Phil and Inside Edition . She has two daughters, one with Charles “Chuck” and one with her ex fiance.

Charles is also a lawyer, and shares a practice with Erica . He focuses on auto injury law. Charles gave a crying apology for his appalling behavior while on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

Erica’s mom Cindi Rose was also on the charter. She added to the madness of the charter by staining a white couch with brown bronzer and arriving late after getting kicked off a flight.

This Erica Rose’s infamous group of charter guests gave a pathetic $6,500 tip to the crew. This meant crew members only received only $722 each for the charter.

Washington DC real estate investor McCordia Young and the other charter guests were a relatively tame group compared to Erica Rose’s family.

They kept Chef Marcos very busy in the galley due to their insatiable appetites. Things took a bad turn when McCordia got too drunk and was sexually harassing Gabriela Barragan . She brushed off his inappropriate advances like a pro.

McCordia’s friends on the charter with him included his ex lover and business partner Norman Slye-Hawkins . He also invited other real estate agents including Leisel Taylor, Arnita Greene, Aliya Johnson.

McCordia and the other charter guests gave a total tip of $17,600. Each crew member received $1,955 in total tip money from the first charter.

This article will be updated with the latest on new charter guests from this season.

‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era

With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.

A man in a crew member suit stands behind a bar and tends to flowers in a vase.

By Shivani Gonzalez

Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.

This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”

At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.

With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.

“Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”

This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).

Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.

“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”

This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)

For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.

From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.

“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”

Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.

On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.

“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”

And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”

An earlier version of this article misquoted Fraser Olender, the chief stew of “Below Deck.” He said, “I also feel like Kerry this season. ... Lee has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” not “I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him.”

Below Deck Trailer: See an Iconic Real Housewife Rock the Boat With Her Demands

Below deck welcomes a sexy new deckhand, deals with a demanding real housewife and teases more dramatic crew drama and firings in e news' exclusive midseason trailer..

A Real Housewife is making waves on Below Deck .

E! News can exclusively debut the Bravo series' season 11 midseason trailer and, as the first look teases, the crew of the St. David might have met their toughest charter guest to date in The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin .

"This is a buffet meal," Zarin tells the staff in the preview while complaining about the quality of her food. "It shouldn't be a three-hour meal. Make it better. Burger's cold!"

Jill's arrival comes as the yachties are feeling the strain from an already stressful season filled with multiple shocking departures , plenty of crew drama between Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Stew Barbie Pascual and, of course, some boatmances.

As Captain Kerry Titheradge notes, "We're half way through the season we're getting tired. This is the opportunity just to smash it. We've all had some ups and downs this season and it wouldn't be yachting if we didn't. We don't do this because it's easy. Easy s--t is on the shore."

As for the friction between Fraser and Barbie, their working dynamic doesn't seem to improve as the Stew notes, "Everybody here knows that there's s--t going on between me and Fraser."

Plus, Fraser bitterly adds, "I'd rather have no sleep than have to look at your face every morning."

But while there doesn't seem to be much hope for Barbie and Fraser, her flirtation with Deckhand Kyle Stillie is only heating up.

"I really like Kyle," she admits. "It's just like a fun, flirtatious...whatever."

And it seems not every crewmember will make it to the end of the charter season.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo. And keep reading to look back at the show's most shocking crew departures ever.

If there's one thing to learn from Camille Lamb 's Below Deck firing, it's to not slack off on the job. That's exactly why the season 10 stew was let go by substitute Captain Sandy Yawn , as Chief Stew Fraser Olender continued to criticize Camille's behavior on board.

From being caught drinking while preparing for a new charter to partying at late hours and more, Fraser informed Captain Sandy that he had reached his "last straw."

"She's the common denominator in all of this," said Captain Sandy. "Great girl, great personality, but at the same time, we have to do what's best for the boat."

Below Deck Adventure 's Kyle Dickard was let go just three episodes into the reality franchise's latest series—which premiered in November 2022. After picking fights with his fellow deckhand Nathan Morley —as well as kissing crew mates in front of guests—Kyle was offered by Captain Kerry Titheradge the opportunity to resign so that his firing would not end up on his personal record.

Kyle took the Captain up on his offer and left the boat after just one charter.

Captain Sandy let bosun Raygan Tyler go during season seven of Below Deck Mediterranean ,  not only for causing the boat to  take a small hit while docking, but also for not stepping up to the plate as a leader.

But Captain Sandy didn't want her firing to discourage the bosun, as she told Raygan, "If I had the time and I wasn't running a boat this size, I would train you. I would teach you."

In addition to onboard romances and failing to follow directions , one of the biggest reasons behind stew Elizabeth Frankini 's Below Deck firing was her infamous laundry room accident , during which made a toxic mess when combining bleach and laundry soap.

"Unfortunately, I didn't know that was so toxic and I feel so bad about it," she told E! News of the incident in December 2020 . "You know, I do feel really bad, especially 'cause Francesca [ Rubi ] did say, 'Take it outside.'"

The bosun and stew were both fired by Captain Jason Chambers for inappropriate behavior after a night of partying with their fellow yachties.

Luke Jones was let go after getting into Stew Margot Sisson 's bed naked while she was drunk and unconscious. Laura Bileskaine also made unwanted advances on Deckhand Adam Kodra despite him telling her he was not interested in hooking up.

Jason made it known that consent was a must, and sent both crewmembers packing.

Tensions between stew Lexi Wilson and Chef Mathew Shea came to a head during an explosive dinner fight on season six of Below Deck Mediterranean , during which Lexi told Matt that his parents "should've aborted you." That was the last straw for Captain Sandy, who fired her not long after the incident.

Deckhand Tom Pearson said "bon voyage" to Below Deck Sailing Yacht after getting let go by Captain Glenn Shephard . Tom hit his last strike with the Captain after failing to report that the boat's anchor was dragging during heavy winds one night, causing a potential safety risk for everyone on board.

"It had to be done. It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know?" Captain Glenn said of the decision  on Watch What Happens Live. "So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen."

Some people are picky eaters, but Below Deck Down Under' s Ryan McKeown was quite the picky chef, as he would judge guests'  food requests  and fail to take  criticism from Captain Jason Chambers , as well.

Perhaps Ryan's Below Deck exit is one of the franchise's most memorable, as he mooned Jason and viewers on his way off the boat.

Below Deck Down Under stew Magda Ziomek 's firing was another case of slacking on the job. After constantly being on her phone texting or video chatting with her boyfriend, Chief Stew Aesha Scott decided to replace Magda before the end of the charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Peter Hunziker was fired from the series in June 2020 after he shared an offensive post on social media.

"Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post," Bravo wrote in a statement at the time. "Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes."

Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier was let go by Captain Sandy on Below Deck Mediterranean after boson Malia White discovered her co-star possessed undeclared Valium and a vape pen, the former of which Hannah claimed was for her anxiety.

"If I could do it all over again, I would've just declared them as soon as I came on board," Hannah stated in an August 2020 interview with E! News. "It was definitely not something that was intentional. I wasn't trying to hide anything.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Delaney Evans left just as quickly as she arrived. After initially being brought on during season six to help out Chief Stew Katie Flood , Katie determined that Delaney was doing more harm than good, choosing to let her go after just one charter.

"I think she was overwhelmed with the situation, and I think that, you know, in her mind, the best solution to the situation was just to go back to what they had before," Delaney told Bravo Insider of Katie's decision. "I think she was just overwhelmed with everything that was going on and all the feedback she was getting."

Deckhand Shane Coopersmith was a bit in over his head on season eight of Below Deck , as he was let go for failing to know basic skills, reporting late for duty and taking naps on the job.

Chaos in the kitchen led to Captain Lee Rosbach letting Chef Leon Walker go on season three of Below Deck . After an oven fire broke out , Lee placed the blame on Chief Stew Kate Chastain but was ultimately the one sent home.

Like several of the franchise's stars, Below Deck 's Chris Brown  was fired  during season five for failing to fully perform his duties. After being let go by Captain Lee, Chris shared some parting words as he left the boat, stating , "Who gives a s--t?"

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva was fired by Captain Sandy on season four of Below Deck Mediterranean after failing to use her cooking skills to produce top-quality food for guests—including some not-so-nice nachos .

"Of course it makes me feel awful," Mila said of her departure . "People like me who have big egos sometimes have to be put down to earth a little bit. But it makes me feel like I want to work even harder."

Sometimes people just don't work well together. That's exactly why Captain Lee fired Chandler Brooks during season six of Below Deck , telling the boson, "I don't think it's a good fit."

  • Chef Anthony Iracane joins Below Deck season 11 with culinary skills and drama, making his mark on the show.
  • Chef Ben Robinson stands out as a fan favorite with his humor and exceptional cooking on Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.
  • Marcos Spaziani impresses guests with his diverse culinary knowledge and passion on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3.

With Bravo's Below Deck season 11 in full swing, it's the perfect time to take a look back at the franchise's 10 best chefs. This season of the long-running Bravo series introduces a whole new crew of returning and fresh faces, led by Captain Kerry Titheradge, aboard the mega yacht St. David. Captain Kerry replaced Captain Lee Rosbach, who used to helm this vessel and is joined by returning cast members Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Deckhand turned Bosun Ben Willoughby.

One of the Below Deck season 11 cast 's new faces is Chef Anthony Iracane, who made his series debut during the premiere episode of season 11. Chef Anthony's culinary skills will undoubtedly add flavor to the new season , but aside from his work in the kitchen, Chef Anthony will certainly be involved in some of the season's dramatic moments. As Chef Anthony will be looking to make his mark on the show, it's time to take a look back at the array of talented chefs who have appeared on Below Deck in the past.

Leon walker, below deck season 3.

Chef Leon Walker cooked for charter guests for ten episodes of Below Deck season 3. While aboard the ship, Eros, Leon was a great chef, but he was very argumentative. Despite guests loving his food, his abrasive personality got in his way, and many didn't want to see Leon back for future charters. Leon and chief stew Kate Chastain battled throughout the season, and he didn't always honor requests from the charter guests. Leon was fired following a fire in the kitchen, which started because his oven was dirty . After Leon was fired, Chef Ben Robinson swooped in to save the day.

Natasha De Bourg

Below deck sailing yacht season 2.

Natasha De Bourg came aboard as the executive chef during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. Natasha came with an impressive resume, including Michelin-star experience , so it was assumed that her success was a sure thing. Charter guests loved Natasha's food, but fans on Reddit were quick to say how unimpressive the food looked.

One Reddit user wrote, " Not only is her food unimpressive and poorly executed but she has a terrible, “holier than thou” attitude ."

Regardless of how her food looked, guests loved how her food tasted.

Ben Robinson

Below deck seasons 1-4, below deck mediterranean seasons 1 & 4.

The wild-haired Chef Ben Robinson was not only funny and outgoing, he was one of the best chefs to ever appear in the series. His snarky one-liners made Ben an instant Below Deck fan favorite. Robinson was on Below Deck seasons 1-4, and he then appeared in seasons 1 and 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean . Thanks to his fun personality, Ben was one of the most well-liked chefs in the series . In addition to always getting along with his fellow yachties, charter guests raved about Ben's cooking.

David White

Below deck mediterranean season 7.

Chef David White from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 got high scores from guests and crew alike. Even Captain Sandy, who was hard to please, was a big fan of Dave. Though he had a messy romantic drama with Chief Stew Natasha Webb , Dave was always professional with the guests and served fantastic food. He was creative, had fun with different cuisines and the presentations were fantastic.

Because of his skill, creativity, passion, and professionalism, Dave is one of the best chefs from the Below Deck franchise .

Below Deck Mediterranean Seasons 2 & 3, Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1

Chef Adam Glick worked in the kitchen for Below Deck Mediterranean seasons 2 and 3, as well as Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. Aside from his impressive cooking, Adam was most remembered for a love triangle during Below Deck Mediterranean season 2. He met Malia before boarding Sirocco in Croatia and the two were romantically involved.

The relationship began to crumble after Malia started to develop feelings for her bosun, Wes Walton.

In the end, Malia chose Wes over Adam. Adam didn't take the rejection well, and lost his cool, and even got into a physical altercation with Wes at one point. Despite that, he would be invited to return for season 3. He had intended not to get into another romantic entanglement, but he went against his plan and pursued another showmance, this time with stew Jenna Macgillivray. Despite all of his personal drama, Adam was a great chef who was passionate about cooking and who consistently satisfied charter guests with his cuisine.

Adrian Martin

Below deck season 6.

Below Deck season 6's Adrian Martin is one of the show's best chefs. In addition to his impressive skills in the kitchen, Adrian brought a much-needed sense of calm to the crew and even practiced yoga every morning. That being said, he wasn't always the most respectful crew member and sometimes had an abrasive personality . Adrian was criticized for making inappropriate comments towards third stew Laura Betancourt, which made her uncomfortable, and which some characterized as misogynistic. He would often make tasteless, and often sexually charged comments, which Laura really did not appreciate.

Jessica Condy

Below deck adventure season 1.

Chef Jessica Condy from Below Deck Adventure season 1 was always praised for her fantastic cooking skills but was often an emotional mess in the kitchen (via Bravo .) She started cooking when she was only 12 years old and never stopped, so it was only natural that she would make it her career. Though she was a confident and passionate chef, she often felt overwhelmed and would easily get overly upset in the kitchen.

There were even a few times when she completely lost her cool and went off on Chief Stew Faye Clarke. They were thankfully able to work it out, like most chefs and chief stews do. Overall, Chef Jessica was a good mix of skilled chef and a highly entertaining Below Deck cast member.

Tzarina Mace-Ralph

Below deck down under season 2.

Below Deck Down Under season 2's Tzarina Mace-Ralph is one of the franchise's most entertaining chefs . The world-class chef showcased her culinary skills for Captain Jason Chambers and the demanding charter guests on the motor yacht Northern Sun (via Bravo .) Tzarina served impressive meals and unfiltered opinions while trying to live her best life and earn a big paycheck during the Australian yachting charter season. When the Bristol, UK, native wasn't cooking up a storm in the galley, she was entangled in several dramatic romantic entanglements with fellow crew members that added to her entertainment value.

Tzarina was first involved with deckhand Culver Bradbury, but he ended up dumping her for stewardess Jaimie Neale. Tzarina took the rejection really hard and got emotional when she opened up about her past and her insecurities. However, she was able to rebound with returning bosun, João Franco .

The dynamic pair's chemistry was palpable, and their budding relationship was entertaining to watch, but it went down in flames after Tzarina attacked João's character repeatedly.

Rachel Hargrove

Below deck seasons 8-10.

Chef Rachel Hargrove appeared in Below Deck seasons 8-10 and is considered one of the most consistent chefs in the series. She never got negative reviews from the charter guests, was dryly outspoken, and perfected a 10-course dinner that impressed diners. Crew members Eddie Lucas and Francesca Rubi were so impressed with her French toast that they said it was the best they'd ever had.

Rachel first appeared in season 8 of the show and was quite a polarizing character at first. She was confrontational, brutally honest, and criticized for her drinking. Despite the rocky start, Rachel would stay on the show for another two seasons, during which time, she really grew on fans and became a fan favorite.

Marcos Spaziani

Below deck sailing yacht season 3.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3's Marcos Spaziani worked as a chef for ten years before joining the cast of the show, working everywhere from Miami to Los Angeles. While living in LA., he worked as a chef at the well-known Hollywood restaurant Taste, then started his gourmet food truck business. Hailing from Venezuela, Marcos had an expansive knowledge of different kinds of cuisines, which really impressed the guests.

There were rarely any complaints about the meals he served, and both the guests and the crew could taste the passion in his food. In addition to being a stellar chef, Marcos was hardly ever involved in any drama with his fellow crew members. Perhaps his lack of drama contributed to the fact that Marcos is one of the most often forgotten Below Deck cast members.

Below Deck season 11 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. Episodes are available for streaming on Tuesdays on Peacock.

Screen Rant

9 below deck franchise deckhands who came off as lazy.

A few deckhands have left the Below Deck franchise because they were unable to meet the high work standards, appearing careless and inattentive.

  • Laura Bileskalne and Lexi Wilson are examples of bad Below Deck stews who preferred socializing over working hard.
  • Robert Westergaard was preoccupied with personal matters, which hindered his performance as a deckhand.
  • Crew members like Benny Crawley and Max Salvador had bad attitudes - they weren't team players.

Below Deck has featured some interesting deckhands over the years, some of whom weren't good fits for their jobs. Over the years, many unworthy cast members have appeared on the Bravo series. One such name was Laura Bileskalne from Below Deck Down Under . The former Stew was terrible at her job and didn’t respect personal boundaries. Aesha Scott even accused her of caring less about the work and more about her appearance. Ultimately, Captain Jason Chambers did what was necessary to keep his yacht afloat. He fired Laura for her inappropriate behavior and bad manners.

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 3, Lexi Wilson was another horrible Stew. She lacked professionalism and had a poor work ethic, which prevented her from performing her duties. She also prioritized less meaningful things like socializing over caring for the guests, showing that she was a dysfunctional team member. Camille Lamb from Below Deck season 2 was no better. She'd tangle with her crew mates, creating unnecessary drama. Camille was such a bad worker that she never met her deadlines.

Ultimately, Captain Sandy Yawn fired her for being unsuitable for her stewardess position.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

9 robert westergaard, below deck mediterranean.

Like some of the stews, a few deckhands weren't exactly great at their jobs. Robert Westergaard from Below Deck Mediterranean season 5 was somewhat of a mixed bag. He was preoccupied with other things, rather than really caring about his job. Rob pursued Jessica More and didn’t seem very focused on his work. The Bravo cameras also captured him texting his ex-girlfriend and struggling to build romantic relationships . If he'd boarded the yacht with a work-oriented mindset, Rob might have achieved his potential.

Unfortunately, it seemed like he was there to have a post-breakup trip.

8 Ben “Benny” Crawley

Below deck down under.

Benny Crawley was in Below Deck Down Under season 1. He looked good initially, but was atrocious at his deckhand job. Benny’s issues were related to his insubordination. He wasn’t a good team player and wanted to work on his own. He also argued a lot with former bosun Jamie Sayed. The worst thing about Benny was his inability to commit to the tasks and do his job properly. The young man crossed the line when he declined Captain Jason’s disco ball helmet, showing he was too lazy to have fun. Benny didn’t respect the hierarchy.

On a yacht, the crew has to respect the chain of command.

7 Culver Bradbury

Culver Bradbury’s subpar performance as a deckhand will always be remembered. When the Maryland man debuted in the franchise, he proclaimed himself the “Chief Entertainment Officer.” His actions on the show, especially his brief romantic connections with Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Jaimee Neale, showed that he was simply not ready to work. When João Franco returned to the series in season 2, even he noticed Culver’s laziness . He called him out for his unimpressive performance and flippant demeanor. All of Culver’s crew members felt he lacked leadership skills. Still, Culver somehow became the interim bosun due to Luke Jones’ sudden exit.

6 Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Below deck sailing yacht.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht ’s Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux had a fancy name but wasn’t a good deckhand. The former Bravo star didn’t have the skills or the desire to do his job. He often neglected his duties. At one point, Captain Glenn Shephard allowed Jean to prove his competence while dealing with a dangerous situation. However, he missed the opportunity. Per Reality Tea , Kate Chastain threw shade at Jean by implying that he wasn’t smart. Dani Soares has also claimed Jean isn’t stepping up as a father to their baby.

Below Deck: 8 Reasons Why Captain Lee Rosbach Will Never Return To The Show

5 tom pearson.

Tom Pearson was a deckhand in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3. He had a major drinking problem that made him seem like a mean person. Besides his immature attitude, Tom was irresponsible and unprepared to work on a luxury yacht. He was rude to other crew members, including Ashley Marti and Gary King. Captain Glenn gave Tom endless chances, but things blew up when Tom messed up while anchor-watching. To make matters worse, he didn’t own up to his mistakes in time, pushing Captain Glenn to send him home where he belonged.

4 Parker McCown

Parker McCown was never a good deckhand because he couldn’t follow orders. He was too lazy to use common sense - Parker messed up a lot of tasks. When Paget Berry told Parker to organize a beach picnic, he used a shovel to hurl the rocks around the beach. The strategy made no sense and showed how little attention Parker paid to his senior’s instructions . When Jenna MacGillivray asked Parker about it, he had a bad attitude. He snapped at her because she asked a simple question, pushing Captain Glenn to intervene. Parker left Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1 in episode 12.

3 Max Salvador

At first, Max Salvador seemed like the perfect guy for his deckhand job. However, it didn’t take long for the crew members to realize he had a massive ego and lazy attitude. Max constantly complained about others and yacht life. He whined about not getting enough breaks from work, argued with his bosun, and created unnecessary drama. He also rubbed Captain Sandy the wrong way when he needlessly griped about food because he didn’t want to eat what was on the boat. From Lara Du Preez to Haleigh Gorman, most crew members felt Max was shiftless.

2 Shane Coopersmith

Below Deck 's Shane Coopersmith was the highlight of season 8, as he was dubbed the laziest crew member. He wasn’t just bad at his job - he had trouble maintaining a proper schedule outside of work. Shane didn’t respect his job enough to get adequate rest. The lack of sleep caused him to take naps during work, eventually hindering his performance as a deckhand. After fair warnings, the bosun just didn’t know how else to motivate Shane. Therefore, Eddie Lucas fired Shane in episode 7, sending him home to think about what he did wrong.

10 Below Deck Charter Guests Who Will Never Return To The Franchise

1 danny zureikat.

Danny Zureikat was the king of being lazy at his job. The former deckhand broke too many rules in Below Deck Mediterranean season 1 and was fired for being inappropriate. Danny’s biggest issue was treating his Below Deck gig like a vacation. The young man had no boundaries and wanted to hook up with the guests. He was also addicted to using his phone and rarely put it down. In episode 12, the crew had enough of Danny, who was a bad influence . Captain Mark Howard had to step in and cut the Below Deck d eckhand’s supposed bachelor’s trip short.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo, then streams the following day on Peacock.
