10 Small Superyachts That Offer Supersized Interiors

These sub-100-footers combine broad beams with unconventional interiors to create the space of superyachts that are sometimes twice as long., howard walker, howard walker's most recent stories.

10 Wide-Body Yachts That are Changing the Face of Boat Design

For many yacht owners, the solution to finding more space aboard for friends and family is summed up by that immortal line by Chief Brody in Jaws : “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”

Until now, bigger has typically meant longer. But that’s quickly changing as more and more builders are creating interior volume by going wider and taller. For disrupter builder Wally Yachts and its polarizing new Wallywhy 150—which refers to its internal volume rather than the boat’s length—the quirky design is said to deliver 50 percent more space than more traditional 78-footers.

Other builders like Princess have been in the game since 2021. Its X95 first appeared several years ago, effectively throwing down the gauntlet as a way forward for sub-100-foot yachts to supersize both interior and exterior volumes.

Since then, many other builders of small superyachts have jumped on board, with designs that typically have somewhat bloated profiles, far-forward main suites, and open transoms—features all designed to maximize space but minimize length.

Here are 10 new yachts 100 feet and under that are breaking the mold in an attempt to dominate the nautical space race.

wallywhy150

These 10 Pocket Superyachts Have Extraordinary Volumes Under 100 feet.

It’s no wonder that disrupter Italian builder Wally—now part of the Ferretti Group—calls its latest head-turner a “spaceship.” Claiming up to 50 percent more space than comparable 78-footers, the 150 (named after interior volume rather than length) has standout features like a main salon with over eight feet of headroom, and a beam of more than 22 feet. The pragmatic design includes a one-level main deck attached to an open rear cockpit that offers easy access to the water. Its most noteworthy feature is the rule-breaking, full-beam master suite tucked into the bow on the main deck. It has wraparound glass—stretching all the way around the bow—for panorama-like views from the main bedroom. Priced from about $6.7 million.

Lazzara UHV 87

12 million yacht

Short for Ultra High Volume, this new Turkish-built pocket superyacht is a sistership to Lazzara’s UHV 100 and 125 models. The newest Lazzara boasts an impressive 2,153 square feet of interior space in its 87-foot length. Arguably, the boat is not pretty in a classic sense. The towering hull sides, blunt, plumb bow, and dark-tinted glass make it look more like a dinner cruiser than a mini-superyacht. But the interior space is astonishing, from the cavernous Sky Lounge, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, to the salon with a separate, chandelier-lit dining area and chef’s galley. With a fuel capacity of 3,000 gals, the twin 1,000 hp Volvo D13s deliver a top speed of 16 knots. The boat also has transatlantic range. Base price starts at about $10.9 million.

Sunseeker 100 Yacht

12 million yacht

Movie nights under the stars should have a whole new appeal aboard UK builder Sunseeker’s brand-new 98-footer. Lie back on the yacht’s extra-wide foredeck sunpad and watch the latest blockbuster on a 140-inch screen with laser projection. Or, if you’re the lucky owner, stargaze from your private terrace tucked away in the bow, just steps from the full-beam main-deck master suite, with atrium-style glass sliding doors. One of the best innovations here is the wide, uninterrupted walkway around the entire top deck, which provides safe, easy access from the flybridge to the forward entertaining space. With its twin 2,600 hp V16 MTU diesels, top speed is an impressive 29 knots. Priced from about $10.5 million.

Azimut Grande 26M

12 million yacht

For its brand-new Grande 26M compact superyacht, Italian builder Azimut has gone extra wide to create massive interior and exterior spaces. Spatial highlights include a full-width flybridge that’s almost 20 feet across and close to 40 feet long, and a foredeck entertaining area that seems more like an outdoor patio. The Alberto Mancini-styled go-fast cruiser is crammed with space-enhancing innovations, such as a teak-decked garage door that, at the touch of a button, hinges upwards to extend the rear cockpit by almost five feet. New ZF pod drives coupled to the yacht’s twin 1,650 hp MAN V12 diesels also save space. It is priced from about $6.2 million.

Princess X95

10 Wide-Body Yachts That are Changing the Face of Boat Design

As we said during our 2021 tour of Britain’s Princess Yachts’ tri-deck X95 “When it comes to the polarizing, head-spinning design, there are no half-measures, no in-betweens. You either love it. Or loathe it.” But what those eye-popping lines hide is perhaps the most spacious 95-foot luxury cruiser in the category. Reckoned to be some 40 percent roomier than cruisers with the same length, the X95 has stretch-out accommodations for up to 10 in five cabins and living spaces that rival most apartments. The flybridge covers almost the entire length of the yacht. The 100 is also fast, with twin 1,990 hp MAN V12s delivering a top speed of 23 knots. Prices start at about $12 million.

Extra X96 Triplex

12 million yacht

This broad-beamed 96-footer is from the Italian builder Extra Yachts, which is part of the Palumbo Superyachts Group. While it’s called the Triplex, there are actually four levels if you include the cozy upper sundeck with its outdoor kitchen, dining area, and oversized sunpads. The exterior comes courtesy of Italian designer Francesco Guida, while interiors are by Milan-based Hot Labs. Both teams have made the most of the yacht’s class-leading 25-foot beam. Notable features include a vast full-beam master on the main level and an upper salon dedicated entirely to dining, with a table for 10, an open chef’s galley, and an adjoining outdoor bar. Twin Volvo IPS1350s deliver a 16.5-knot top speed. Priced from $12 million.

Sunreef 100

12 million yacht

This Sunreef power catamaran’s beam spans a staggering 44 feet, offering the kind of interior and exterior spaces you only get with superyachts twice the length. Every element of the yacht is XXL-size—from the massive hydraulic swim platform to the full-width flybridge that covers almost 1,000 square feet. Down in the salon is a huge 11-seat U-shaped bar that would delight any mixologist. The five staterooms in the twin hulls have space for 10. A pair of 1,300 hp MAN V8 diesels delivers a six-knot top speed. It is priced from about $15.3 million.

Absolute Navetta 75

12 million yacht

In Italian, the word “navetta” translates to “little ship.” Which is a perfect description for Absolute’s new 75-foot fast cruiser. It’s an evolution of the strong-selling Navetta 73 but with nearly two feet of extra length. The yacht’s expansive interior volumes will remain the same, with features like a forward master stateroom on its own level that has a private entrance steps away from the main salon. The salon features floor-to-ceiling glass, with full views of the water, courtesy of open bulwarks. Twin 1,000 hp Volvo IPS1350 diesels deliver a top speed of 25 knots. Pricing starts at about $4 million.

Arcadia A96

12 million yacht

Cross a spacious Miami high-rise penthouse with a Canyon Ranch spa and the result could be this new 96-foot superyacht from Italian builder Arcadia. Boasting a remarkable 4,300 square feet of total living space, there’s room for 12 guests and five crew. And the living spaces even expand, courtesy of fold-down terraces in the main salon and on the rear deck. But the yacht’s focus on wellness and healthy living sets it apart. That expansive, teak-decked foredeck, spanning over 500 square feet, is perfect for yoga sessions or meditation, while the cockpit and beach club offer another 1,000 square feet of social space. For extra peace and quiet at anchor, solar panels can provide up to nine hours of generator-free power.

Numarine 26XP Fast

12 million yacht

Think of it as offering pace, with space. Turkish yard Numarine has been building its bold 85-foot 26XP explorer style mini-superyacht since 2018, but later this year, it will launch the U.S.-focused 26XP Fast. Instead of slow-churning 435 hp diesels and nine-knot cruising, it’s bolting-in a pair of mighty 1,800 hp MAN V12s and modifying the hull to deliver a top speed of 31 knots. What hasn’t changed is the XP’s cavernous interior and expensive deck space. Take the top-deck flybridge which, thanks to the yacht’s 21-foot beam and far-forward helm, spans over 700 square feet. That space will include a dining table for eight, a full outdoor kitchen, and more lounges than a Saint-Tropez beach bar. Prices start from $6.95 million.

The 5 Most Expensive Superyachts in the World

By Brett Berk

Eclipse the private luxury yacht of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich anchors in Fethiye district of Mugla

Though superyachts are already among the most costly consumer items available for purchase, the prices of the most expensive superyachts in the world are still astounding. In recent decades, those with money to burn have settled on these floating palaces as an ideal locus for demonstrating their prosperity, and as such, the global superyacht industry is undergoing a golden age. The world’s über-wealthy think of their superyachts as toys, and they’re constantly trying to outdo each other in scale, design, amenities, materials, and sheer profligacy.

Knowing this, what features does it take to own one of the most expensive superyachts in existence? And how much do these opulent vessels actually cost? To that end, AD has compiled a list of the five priciest superyachts currently out on the water. As with many things connected to the very wealthy, details are shrouded in secrecy—often intentionally—to protect privacy or to shield the assets from taxation or seizure. Below, dive into the five reportedly most expensive superyachts in the world.

Super yacht Dubai is moored at the Doha Sailin

5. Dubai ($400 million)

This 531-foot yacht is reportedly owned by United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. Though it was originally planned for another Middle Eastern potentate, Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, he suddenly voided the contract in 2001. With exteriors designed by Andrew Winch and interiors by Platinum Yachts, this German-built Blohm + Voss vessel features several Jacuzzis, a pool inlaid with handmade mosaic tiles that is reportedly large enough to hold 115 people, a circular staircase, a discotheque, squash courts, a movie theater, a dining room for 90 guests (the other 25 presumably have to eat in the pool?), a helipad, and a submarine.

The 147 meter mega luxury yacht of Manchester City soccer club owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan from UAE

4. Topaz ($527 million)

Resembling a stealth bomber, this 483-foot ship is reportedly owned by Russian fertilizer and coal oligarch, Andrey Melnichenko. With exteriors by Tim Heywood Design Ltd. and interior designs by Terence Disdale Design, this German-built Lürssen Yacht features a 2,500-square-foot primary bedroom, six guest suites (with moveable walls so they can be transformed into four grand staterooms), glassware and tableware fashioned from French crystal, a helicopter hangar, a 30-foot speedboat tender, and three swimming pools, including one with a glass-bottom dangling menacingly above a disco.

3. Azzam ($600 million)

This 590-foot ship is currently thought to be the largest private yacht in the world and one of the fastest, with a top speed of 35 miles per hour. To achieve this immense scale and speed, it required a pair of gas turbines and two stratospherically potent diesel engines, rendering it very difficult to build. It is reportedly owned by a member of the royal family of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. With exteriors by Nauta Yacht and interiors by French decorator Cristophe Leoni, this yacht was also built by Lürssen in Germany. The vessel is set apart by its early 19th-century empire-style veneered furniture, as well as its state-of-the-art security systems including a fully bulletproof primary suite and a high-tech missile deterrence capabilities.

2. Eclipse ($1.5 billion)

In addition to being the second-costliest, this 533-footer is thought to be the world’s second-largest private yacht. Owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the ship was claimed to be located in Turkey and may be impounded as part of the United Kingdom’s sanctions against Russia. Designed by Terry Disdale and built by Blohm + Voss, it features two-dozen guest cabins, two swimming pools, two helipads, and multiple hot tubs. For privacy and security reasons, it hosts a missile detection system, bulletproof windows in the primary bedroom and on the bridge, an anti-paparazzi shield and, when all of that fails, a mini-submarine that can take a few VIPs 164 feet under the ocean’s surface.

1. History Supreme ($4.8 billion)

History Supreme has never actually been seen in a major port, and rumors suggest that the yacht may not be real, and instead just a publicity stunt. Reportedly owned by Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, and designed by Stuart Hughes in the UK, the yacht is only a paltry 100 feet long. Its worth is said to be derived from its lavish finishes, including a statue constructed from genuine Tyrannosaurus rex bones, a liquor bottle embedded with an 18.5-carat diamond, and a primary bedroom with one wall made from meteorite and another from a 24-carat gold Aquavista Panoramic Wall Aquarium. If you see it somewhere, let us know.

Feadship’s first full hybrid electric project 1012 takes to the sea.

The first full hybrid electric yacht by Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyards, Project 1012, emerges from ... [+] the shed at Makkum in preparation for sea trials and July delivery.

Feadship has announced the launch of their first full Hybrid Electric Class yacht, Project 1012, from Hoofdorp, The Netherlands. The yacht headed out of the shed at Makkum for sea trials in anticipation a July delivery to its Spanish owner, a repeat Feadship customer. Project 1012’s design is noteworthy inside and out, dovetailing a contemporary chamfered hull with a traditional flared bow, defining its modern classic profile.

By The Numbers

On the way to sea trials from Makkum, Feadship's 91.80-meter yacht, Project 1012, is guided away ... [+] from the shed but toward the shipyard's carbon neutral goal, Road to Zero, 2030.

Project 1012 measures 91.80 m/301’2” in length, bow to stern. Stretching across a 14.50m/47’7” beam, the yacht has a 3.90m/12’10” draft. The crisp navy-blue steel hull and bright white aluminum superstructure work well with upper decks, pleasantly curved and cleanly wrapped in uninterrupted floor to ceiling glass. The overall effect? Ultra-clean.

The propulsion system powers the yacht with two MTU 16V4000M65 main engines offering 2560kW at 1800 RPM with shaft-driven, fixed pitch propellers. Additionally, three Caterpillar C18 generators provide 465 ekW, and two PTI/PTO, Power Take-off /Power Take-in, motors provide 2 x 560 kW, with a Lithium-Ion battery capacity of 1 megawatt.

Feadship Project 1012 in 3/4 profile shows off the extended beach club and aft deck requested by the ... [+] owner as one of the reasons for building a new yacht.

The yacht’s conventional diesel propulsion mode is assisted by the e-motors which work as shaft generators, providing electricity for hotel loads and battery bank recharging. Low speed navigation is also a benefit of this hybrid system, using the power from generators or batteries to navigate marinas and tight maneuvers.

Those systems give the project a top speed of 17.5 knots, with a cruise range of 5,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

First Images Of Helldivers 2 s Illuminate Alien Enemies Emerge

Ipad air 2024 design upgrade coming report claims, gervonta davis next fight tank has an opponent for his return, project 1012 design team.

The launch of another groundbreaking Feadship moves them one step closer to their 2030 neutral ... [+] carbon goal with state-of-the-art Feadship technology.

The yacht’s naval architecture was penned by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, complemented by design from Sinot Yacht Architecture and the owner’s design resources. Additional owner requests regarding specific exterior design were well integrated owing to the owner’s long history of yachting experience.

Excellence in craftsmanship evident throughout the yacht exhibits impeccable execution of detail, turning the yacht into an “understated family home.”

Interior Details

The owner’s request for more beach club space resulted in the new design commanding 25 percent of the length of the lower deck. In addition to a large, fixed stern platform, two fold-down platforms to port and starboard contribute to 165 square meters, approximately 1776 square feet, of leisure lounging at the water’s edge. Just forward of the beach club, a side-load garage secures storage for two 10-meter tenders, a ski boat, and a bevy of additional water toys.

The large stern platform and two fold-down decks to port and starboard create a grand beach club ... [+] worthy of the 165 square meters dedicated to waterfront leisure.

Forward of the tender garage and engine room, the usual placement of a galley, crew mess, and crew cabins own the lower deck bow. From the stern beach club platform, a matched pair of sweeping staircases to port and starboard lead to the main aft deck where a large pool beckons. A shaded open air lounge tucks in under the deckhead overhang.

Guest suites and staff cabins located forward on the main deck, and master stateroom, family lounge, and wellness area on upper decks, are outfitted with natural materials and finishes. The sun deck is graced with a forward-facing sofa and sun loungers, collecting guests for sunsets, panoramas, and observation. The aft portion of the sun deck, fitted with a crane, stores two rescue tenders.

Project Manager Albert Abma comments in a Feadship press release, "Working with the experienced owner, designers, and owner's team has been a professional pleasure," continuing, “Gathering the operational experience of the owner’s team with the yard’s building experience has resulted in this modern-classic, state-of-art and full custom new Feadship”.

Feadship’s Roadmap To Zero

Project 1012 details illustrate the Feadship hallmark of craftsmanship.

As Feadship aims carefully at a carbon-neutral superyacht by 2030, Project 1012 puts them one step closer to a fuel system engaging progressive thinking, assuring every Feadship is poised to transition gracefully to new fuels.

“The crucial next step is that we need a flexible or agnostic fuel system, meaning it has to work with the fuels of today, but also those of tomorrow, as we’re not yet talking of just fuel cells for propulsion purposes,” notes Giedo Loeff, head of Feadship R & D, in a Feadship press release. With that 2030 commitment, Loeff adds, “Our announcement is significant because as of now Feadship plans to build yachts with tanks and systems that are certified for a whole array of non-fossil fuels.”

Jeff Bezos' $500 Million Yacht: A Look at the World's Largest Private Vessel

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is known for his extravagant lifestyle and love for luxury yachts. In April 2023, Bezos took delivery of his newest and largest yacht, Koru, which cost a staggering $500 million or more. At 417 feet, Koru is the world's largest sailing yacht, surpassing the previous record holder, the 106-meter Black Pearl.

Built by Oceanco in the Netherlands, Koru is a three-masted sailing yacht that features a sleek and modern design. Unlike other yachts owned by billionaires, Koru is powered by wind and sails, rather than diesel engines. It is reported that the yacht has a range of 7,000 nautical miles and can accommodate up to 36 guests and 60 crew members. The yacht is also equipped with a helipad, a swimming pool, a spa, and a gym.

12 million yacht

The delivery of Koru has sparked controversy and criticism, with some arguing that the money spent on the yacht could have been put to better use. However, Bezos has defended his purchase, stating that he plans to use the yacht for scientific research and exploration. Regardless of the controversy, there is no denying that Koru is a stunning and impressive vessel that will undoubtedly turn heads wherever it sails.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has recently taken delivery of his new sailing yacht, Koru, after it completed its initial sea trials. Ultra-rich put off buying yachts, jets in hope of massive trump tax break if he wins.

Yachts lined up along piers on a large inland waterway, seen from the air.

The very top of the 1% are waiting until after the presidential election to buy big ticket items like jets in the hopes that Donald Trump’s election could save them millions on taxes, The Post has learned.

“I’m waiting until after November,” one bi-coastal source who is looking to buy both a jet and a yacht for his business told The Post.

“If I can save millions on my taxes by waiting a few more months I will.”

Business owners — or even someone who is paid through an LLC as a consultant — can deduct the cost of buying a jet or yacht if it is used for a business expense like flying to meetings or hosting clients.

Separate tax deductions allow them to claim its running costs too.

Trump told a group of billionaires at a recent Palm Beach fundraiser hosted by hedge fund manager John Paulson that restoring the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a priority, according to CNN .

One of those cuts was 100% depreciation, or deducting the entire cost of a yacht or jet used for business expenses from taxes.

That means a $40 million jet is equivalent to a $40 million deduction from your tax bill — or nearly $15 million in savings given the average tax rate on the wealthiest Americans is 37%.

President Trump displaying his signature on the $1.5 trillion tax cut bill in the Oval Office.

The amount someone can deduct from a tax bill for a capital investment — an item like a jet that can help a company’s growth — fell from 80% last year to 60% this year, in line with how the 2017 tax cuts were put in place.

It will drop to 40% in 2025, 20% in 2026, and 0% in 2027 unless the tax cuts are restored.

Trump’s comments behind closed doors have not been mirrored in public so far.

But a source involved in the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March — which showed more than 800 boats and attracted more than 55,000 visitors — told The Post that one of the main topics was whether to wait until after the election.

The boat show didn’t disclose how many sales were made. The yacht and private jet industries are intensely private.

A large group of boats docked in the Intracoastal Waterway for the 42nd Palm Beach International Boat Show in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“A lot of us are waiting to see what happens in the election… the Republican Party has promised 100% write-offs so that would save companies,” the Florida-based source added.

The prices of jets and yachts seem to show demand is slowing.

In recent months, demand for anything between a super-midsize jet, which can sell for as little as $12 million, and ultra-long range aircraft, which can sell for as much as $75 million, has dipped according to CEO of Mikolay Jet Group Michael Mikolay.

A super-midsize aircraft like a Gulfstream G280 or Bombardier Challenger 300 can fly around 3,500 miles or the distance between New York and London.

An ultra-long range aircraft like a Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G700 can fly more than 8,000 miles — the distance from NYC to the Middle East.

“Basically, there is more supply than demand right now,” Mikolay said of the pre-owned market in particular.

Between October 2023 and March 2024, 719 jets were sold — down from 815 jets sold in the same period the year before.

While the largest yachts, which can cost north of $65 million and typically attract international buyers aren’t taking a hit, the market for slightly cheaper boats in the $40 million to $65 million range is softening, super yacht broker Jamie Edmiston said.

A source in the jet space said his business clients — as opposed to those buying for leisure — are more sensitive to tax implications like the rate of depreciation.

“If someone wants to buy his wife a Birkin he’ll spend the money but if he’s looking to buy a jet for his business and he can save millions, he’ll wait,” the source added.

Interior view of a Gulfstream G700 aircraft showcasing a bed, on display at the National Business Aviation Association convention in Orlando, Florida.

“Rich people —  like anyone else — want to save on taxes and if there is a legal way to do it they will.”

Partner at Soar Aviation Law Amanda Applegate said sales typically fall in the lead up to an election, “I do usually see a slow down every presidential election year” but adds it is more pronounced closer to August.

Chair of Business Aviation and Regulation practice at law firm VedderPrice David Hernandez told The Post he warns clients that waiting for a more favorable tax scheme doesn’t always work out — and that it can result in some sellers charging more.

If you’re rushing to buy a plane at the end of the year, chances are sellers will increase their prices because they know you are desperate,” he adds.

Another chilling factor spooking potential jet buyers, Hernandez adds, is the increase in audits of jet owners that the IRS announced in February.

Private planes lined up on an airport apron with green mountains in the background.

“With expanded resources, IRS work in this area [private aircraft] will take off,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said earlier this year.

“These aircraft audits will help ensure high-income groups aren’t flying under the radar with their tax responsibilities.”

The IRS is expected to verify that someone writing a plane off their taxes is actually using it for business expenses — flying to visit clients or a factory they’ve invested in — as opposed to jetting to the Bahamas for a long weekend.

But Hernandez advises clients that there is no cause for alarm if you’re not doing anything illegal, “If you haven’t done anything wrong, who cares.”

The bi-coastal source who told The Post he is waiting to make a purchase said he plans to buy a yacht and a jet no matter what — he just wants to be smart about timing.

“There is huge value in having a boat… I can have a captive audience on my yacht for three hours who can’t wander anywhere and have to discuss business with me,” he added.

Photos: We take a tour of that crazy, $12 million Cubic Yacht spotted around Tampa Bay

  • Christopher Spata Tampa Bay Times
  • James Borchuck Tampa Bay Times

TAMPA — The one-of-a-kind yacht that has been turning heads around the Tampa Bay waterfront with its unusual shape and stainless steel construction has a name — the Rendezvous 2018 .

The yacht is owned by Cubic Yachts LLC, which opened the Rendezvous 2018 to the Tampa Bay Times for an exclusive look this week. The company intends to produce more and larger versions of the yacht under the Cubic Yachts brand name, including a more open version with lots of glass that could serve as a floating restaurant.

The company declined to name the owner of Cubic Yachts, though public company records list Tampa resident Gordon Babbitt, chairman of Plant City-based industrial equipment manufacturer Bulk Resources, Inc.

The vessel, built in Plant City and shipped to Tampa where it was assembled in pieces, cost $12 million and took 44 months to complete, the company said.

The 84 x 40-foot boat was conceived as a mobile, floating beach house that could tow smaller fishing or pleasure boats alongside it, while providing a comfortable living space — 7,500 square feet total — to return to at the end of a day of fishing or cruising the waterways. That’s a lot of space. Since it was launched in late 2017, the boat has already hosted parties as large as 80 people.

And unlike previously-existing houseboats, which must stick to lakes and inland waterways, the Rendezvous 2018 ’s relatively tall, seven feet of "freeboard," the distance from the waterline to the deck, means it can travel offshore in the open ocean making it the rare houseboat that could travel up the East Coast or to the Caribbean.

In the event of a major storm, the boat would travel to the shallowest possible depth, about three feet, and extend its four, 18-foot hydraulic legs to lift it out of the water, theoretically keeping it stable even in a storm surge as high as 15 feet.

The boat has been docked in South Tampa since its most recent sea trials, which is when it became the subject of a local, social media frenzy, as curious commuters spotted it near Gandy Beach while crossing the bridge and onlookers snapped photos of it near downtown St. Petersburg.

The boat is a work in progress, with planned additions and aesthetic changes in progress, including a crane being attached to the upper deck that will be able to lift a smaller boat onboard.

The company is also making mechanical tweaks. During trials, the boat could only reach four miles per hour, so it’s being fitted with a larger propeller to increase its speed (the 270-ton boat gets about one mile per gallon of diesel fuel).

Media attention and intense public curiosity over the strange boat convinced Cubic Yachts to reveal some details about the boat sooner than the company planned. Even with construction equipment and debris scattered around, the yacht was luxurious up close.

There’s a smaller deck at the aft, with a large, gas grill for cooking out, and a larger deck at the front of the boat with sectional leather couches and lounge chairs.

From there, an automatic, sliding glass door leads to the big, open kitchen and the main dining area with multiple, high-top tables, adjacent to a living-room with more leather couches and metal fish sculptures. All of that is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows made of hurricane glass

A hallway off that room leads to four bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed and its own bathroom, all covered in tile.

Downstairs is a game room and theater with a flat-screen television, more seating and a ping-pong table, plus an additional bedroom.

Upstairs, the large sun deck features a roof covered in solar panels, storage for surf boards and a large hot tub that overlooks the deck helm that controls the engines and the hydraulic legs.

Artwork in several of the rooms features stainless steel panels etched with a swirling pattern, meant to coordinate with the boat’s stainless steel exterior.

Cubic Yachts plans to build its next yacht with a similar design but significantly larger, measuring 120 feet long.

CONOR MCGREGOR SPLASHES OUT ON $12m SUPERYACHT – AND PAYS CASH!

UFC 2 division champion Conor McGregor is having a predictably fun time enjoying the eye-watering $30 million dollar pay check, picked up from his big-money TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather.

Since the bout ended, the 29-year-old has been living it up on the party isle of Ibiza with his family, enjoying good food, renting a lavish villa, lounging in the Mediterranean sunshine – oh, and splashing out on a $12-million-dollar super yacht. In cash.

In a number of decadent Instagram posts, Conor has been sharing his new-found love of super yachts, and hasn’t held back on his delight at sailing alongside Sailing Yacht A – the world’s biggest yacht owned by Russian billionaire, Andrey Melnichenko.

“This is an eye-opening level of opulence to witness first hand” he posted, referring to Sailing Yacht A, a vessel valued between $360 and $450 million dollars.

“To me it is truly motivating. I’m starting to think I don’t have a wealth belly, just rich fat. I must keep eating” he added.

Just last week, the news broke that his recent fight broke the US Pay-Per-View record and the UK record, and he is set to receive around $120 million when the final PPV numbers come through.

In no rush to return to work, the Irishman has left the clubs behind him and headed for the serenity of Formentera.

With his seemingly increasing appetite for super yachts, who knows what will be next on his extravagant shopping list. Sailing Yacht B perhaps?

See Four Seasons' upcoming ultra-luxury cruise with a $350,000-a-week suite bigger than most homes

  • Four Seasons says it will begin sailing an  ultra-luxury yacht cruise in January 2026.
  • The 222-guest vessel would have 95 spacious suites and 11 dining options — but food wouldn't be free.
  • The largest suite would have four floors and bedrooms, a spa, and a price of $350,000 per sailing.

Insider Today

Four Seasons plans to expand its high-end hotels and resorts portfolio with a luxury 222-guest cruise ship.

The company says the 95-suite vessel will debut in January 2026 and cost a minimum of $20,000 per weeklong sailing.

For that price, the luxury hospitality giant says travelers would enjoy a one-to-one guest-to-staff ratio and massive suites spanning as many as four floors. If all goes as planned, the 679-foot-long Four Seasons I could become one of the most expensive and opulent options in the cruise industry.

The ultra-plush 14-deck Four Seasons I is scheduled for 19 voyages in 2026 to more than 130 Caribbean and Mediterranean ports.

12 million yacht

Reservations opened two weeks ago. Those interested can register to join a waitlist or book through a travel agent.

So far, "sales have been very encouraging, and the demand is exciting to see," Thatcher Brown, chief commercial officer and head of joint operations for Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, told Business Insider in a statement. The company is a joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts.

Renderings make the Four Seasons I look as opulent as the brand's land-based properties.

12 million yacht

Four Seasons says its vessel will have 95 suites ranging from 537 to 9,975 square feet, some with three bedrooms.

The smallest suite starts at $19,700 for a five-night roundtrip voyage to Athens, Greece.

No windowless interior cabins here: Like other ultra-luxe cruises, the suites would all have terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows.

12 million yacht

Customers could expect upscale amenities like a walk-in closet, down-filled duvets and pillows, and marble dual vanity bathrooms, per Four Seasons.

The most premium suites would also feature additional accommodations for "personal assistants," such as au pairs or security personnel.

Some options, like the 7,952-square-foot Loft Suite, could be adjoined with seven other cabins to accommodate up to 20 people.

12 million yacht

Without connecting cabins, the Loft Suite would already have three bedrooms and bathrooms, a powder room, and a sauna.

Others, like the largest Funnel Suite, would have its own spa and kitchen.

12 million yacht

Four Seasons says the 9,975-square-foot mansion, partially perched in the ship's glass-lined funnel , will span four floors, four bathrooms, three bedrooms, and three powder rooms.

Not to mention the private elevator, pool, and $350,000-a-voyage price tag.

Accommodations of this price and size are generally unheard of in the cruise industry.

12 million yacht

Luxury operator Silversea says the largest suite on its upcoming 728-guest Silver Ray will be 1,324 square feet. Competitor Regent Seven Seas' new Seven Seas Grandeur debuted in 2023 with a more expansive six-guest 4,443-square-foot option.

Both suites' sizes and prices — Regent's starts at $42,000 per person for a total of $252,000 at maximum occupancy — would be stunted by Four Seasons' promise of a 9,975-square-foot, $350,000 floating mansion.

But cabins with six-digit prices aren't unheard of.

12 million yacht

While not a luxury cruise line, Royal Caribbean's popular three-floor townhouse on the new Icon of the Seas is being booked at an average of $100,000 a week — although it's about four times smaller than Four Seasons' largest.

Royal Caribbean and other mass-market cruise lines are beloved, in part, for their unlimited complimentary food options.

12 million yacht

Regent Seven Seas' all-inclusive fare also covers caviar, foie gras, and Champagne.

But don't expect any of these to be free on the Four Seasons I.

Breakfast would be complimentary. Lunch, dinner, and booze would not.

12 million yacht

The vessel's 11 restaurants and lounges would be priced similarly to Four Seasons' on-land properties. (A dinner entrée at its resort on the Caribbean island of Nevis — also one of the ship's destinations — ranges from $34 to $163.)

The pricing structure may sound odd to most cruise traditionalists. (Hey, at least WiFi would be "free.")

12 million yacht

But some of the ship's amenities could look familiar: Like most cruise liners, the Four Seasons I would have a pool, spa, and clubs for children and teens.

The company also promises a lounge and marina that will open onto the water, giving guests direct access to activities like snorkeling or windsurfing.

Four Seasons Yachts plans to take delivery of its $399 million vessel, now being built by famed Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, in late 2025.

12 million yacht

A second Fincantieri-built ship would join the hospitality company's fleet the following year. The next vessel would cost more than 400 million euros, about $429.2 million, Four Seasons says.

This isn’t Four Seasons' first foray into itinerary-based vacations.

12 million yacht

The company has also found "tremendous success" in its private jet-based "cruises," Alejandro Reynal, the president and CEO of Four Seasons, told BI in a statement.

Its 2024 vacation-by-air itineraries started at $135,000 for a 16-day Asia tour. Demand has been growing, he said, "signaling that luxury travelers are looking for immersive, exclusive, end-to-end travel journeys that allow them to explore the world with their favorite brands."

But its new ultra-luxe cruise arm would be entering an increasingly crowded luxury market, soon to be dominated by like-minded hospitality giants.

12 million yacht

High-end Aman Resorts and Orient Express plan to launch their own luxury cruises in 2027 and 2026, respectively.

Staying ahead of the competition, Ritz-Carlton debuted its first 149-suite Evrima yacht cruise in 2021, with a second 224-cabin ship scheduled to begin sailing later this year. Its least expensive itinerary is currently $5,100 per person for a six-night voyage from Barbados to Puerto Rico in early 2025.

Interested in a hotelier-owned vacation at sea but don't want to pay the luxury price tag? Margaritaville's cruise is an affordable $75 for two nights.

Joe Lewis’ $250 million superyacht, ranked among the world’s 25-most valuable, sets sail after he pays US fine

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club owner Joe Lewis

Joe Lewis’ superyacht is on the move again after spending most of the past year holed up in a Mediterranean port while the British billionaire faced insider-trading charges in the US.

His 322-foot (98-meter) Aviva — which he put up as collateral for bail —  has traveled more than 400 nautical miles from Malta to cities along Albania’s coast as well as the Greek island of Zakynthos since  he was sentenced  April 4 to three years probation, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

After departing Zakynthos earlier this week, the Tavistock Group founder’s yacht was near Kalamata in southern Greece on Thursday morning local time, the data show. It’s the most the roughly $250 million vessel has traveled in about seven months, though it’s unclear if Lewis is on board.

Lewis, 87, pledged his yacht along with his private jet to secure his release following his arrest in July. A few months later, Aviva docked until April 5 in the Maltese capital of Valletta, where it can cost as much as €750 ($800) a night to moor vessels that exceed 75 meters.

Lewis, who was scheduled to have eye surgery in London recently, was prohibited from setting foot on the yacht that has long served as part-residence, part-office while awaiting trial. He was only allowed on board after paying a $5 million fine after sentencing, which he settled soon after the verdict in Manhattan.

A representative for Lewis, who has a net worth of about $7.3 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, declined to comment.

Lewis, whose global empire includes five-star hotels, private lenders and enclaves for the wealthy, launched Aviva in 2017. It includes eight guest suites, a helipad, padel tennis court, spa and a cinema. It ranked among the world’s 25-most valuable superyachts shortly after its launch, alongside those owned by Middle Eastern royals.

The yacht has also displayed works from Lewis’ private art collection, which is valued at more than $1 billion and includes pieces by Picasso, Freud, Klimt and Degas.

Events that authorities say took place on the yacht were a key piece of evidence that prosecutors used against him.

At dinner one night in September 2019, the billionaire received favorable news about Mirati Therapeutics Inc., an oncology company where he was a major investor, leading him to pass along the tip to a host of people, including the pilots of his private jet, according to US regulators.

Those pilots — Bryan “Marty” Waugh and Patrick O’Connor — were also charged with trading on inside information. O’Connor pleaded guilty to securities fraud and conspiracy and is due to be sentenced in May, while Waugh is fighting the charges.
