I bought a yacht that I had never seen. I did this because I trusted my broker Andrew Holland. It was not an easy job for Andrew, as I am an experienced boat builder and owner of previous yachts, but work in West Africa. Imagine how hard it was to communicate what I was looking for. Andrew came up with exactly what I wanted. He dealt with time delays, all my questions at odd hours, and was there for the survey. He reported honestly and professionally. After buying the yacht, I arrived at the boat on a Sunday night, after dark, after travelling from West Africa to the Caribbean, and found it was better than expected. He never pulled punches and made me aware of shortfalls. I expected to spend my one month leave working on the boat, but actually spent less than one week, and was able to spend 3 weeks sailing – wonderful bonus.

Drive your own two-seat boat and explore the waterways on St. Augustine’s family-owned catamaran tour. On our amazing 2.5-hour adventure around the beautiful St. Augustine, you can see Castillo de San Marcos, The Great Cross, Fort Matanzas, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

Experience the excitement of being on the water at speeds up to 30 miles per hour with our local captains. Slow down to see dolphins, manatees, and other marine life. This tour is great for everyone in the family! Get a new perspective on St. Augustine and have a blast on the water.

We offer this tour seven days a week, year-round. Book a morning, afternoon, or sunset tour.

What to Wear

Beach attire with water shoes, sandals, or flip-flops is appropriate. A light jacket is optional when the weather is below 75 degrees. Although you don’t get soaked, a towel is recommended due to minor splashing. We also recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats.

Important Information

• You must be 18 or older and hold a valid driver’s license to operate the catamaran.
• You must arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour; this gives us ample time to brief you.
• The maximum weight limit per catamaran is 500 pounds.
• A 15% gratuity is customary, but only if your trip was exceptional.
• A cooler of ice and water is provided for each boat. You may bring other drinks and snacks if needed.
• There is a small dry storage area on each boat for cell phones, cameras, keys, wallets, and small purses. No large beach bags or backpacks, please.

Sailing with Marty was my first experience as an adult sailing off the coast. We had a wonderful trip starting in St Augustine. First, we were given some basic information about the boat and safety, the other crew members and our destination. Then we were off. We sailed up to Amelia Island for most of the day and then docked at Fernandina Beach marina. We had a short walk into downtown and had a wonderful meal. It was also a great way to really get to know the other members of the crew. The next morning we set off and sailed north to Cumberland Island. Once on the island, we explored the ruins, had a nice hike and enjoyed dinner on the boat. The next step was amazing. We headed off into the sunset on the boat and sailed all night. It was truly exhilarating sailing through the night. At all times, I felt safe but the excitement got me hooked on sailing. Marty is honest, helpful, and always cheerful; exactly what you want in a captain.

This past summer my husband and I had an awesome time on Summerwind. The weather was warm so it was a great time sailing to downtown St Augustine and simply grabbing a mooring ball eating a yummy lunch with our family and diving off the back for a refreshing dip. The following day we took the boat several miles out in the ocean with all the sails up, music on in the cabin; a complete escape from work etc. At day’s end we sailed right up to Caps On The Water restaurant for my birthday where we enjoyed a seafood dinner and drinks. We can’t wait to plan another visit aboard Summerwind, It was a complete vacation over only a single weekend. Many thanks.

Sailing with Marty is truly a treat... He and his trusty Yacht are one with the mighty ocean. Years at sea and behind the helm show, and pay off in high seas or calm. But don't get too comfortable because he is always game to teach you the ropes and be sure you are part of the adventure. There is nothing more peaceful and fulfilling than a day at sea with Marty. We had such a peaceful experience taking in the joys of the sea while sailing with Marty. He was willing to let us take on roles to help sail the boat (and willing to let us fail, too!) We brought along our two little children (2.5 years and 10 months) and they enjoyed playing below deck and seeing the beautiful scenery sailing by. We were grateful for Marty’s expertise, generosity and passion for sailing!

I've sailed with Captain Marty several times and it was a joy. One of the trips was a longer sail from Puerto Rico to Saint Augustine, Florida in May, 2013. We had a great time and I felt totally comfortable with Marty as our Captain. His sailing and navigating experience made me feel very at ease while on the water - he is a safety conscious sailor. I would give the trip 5 stars!

Being a novice on boats, this was a very exciting time for me. Marty and the crew made me feel very comfortable aboard the Yacht. We sailed down the Cooper River, under the incredible Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and into Charleston Harbor. I enjoyed seeing the USS Yorktown and the submarines. The view of the city of Charleston and the historic homes was amazing! Marty is very knowledgeable about historic sites. Seeing Fort Sumter from the water was also a memorable experience. I would rate this sail as 5 stars

Between the bar, the best bartender (thanks again Ian), the covered area to escape the sun and an area to hand out in the sun, the music, access to bathrooms and the magical scenery that is St. Augustine, we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience! We booked the boat for a wedding party cruise before the big day and had an absolute blast. Big thanks to Jonathan, Capt Glen and team at Perch for making it a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.

This was such a great experience! We considered a different sunset cruise and I am so thankful my husband found this one. Super friendly crew and plenty of space! Family friendly!

My wife along with some other friends have enjoyed Sabrage, cruises on multiple occasions. Staff is always on top of safety but ready to have an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking them out for a romantic sunset cruise, employee appreciation day, or a large gathering! The boat can handle public small groups or private large groups with ease and it is easy to customize your experience. Catamaran tour was amazing!

My husband booked us on the catamaran tour. We are not sailors, but love the water. According to the brochure you can help with the sailing or sit back and relax. We just sat back and enjoyed the trip. Our guide, Aaron, was wonderful. He pointed out some things, but also just let us sit back and relax. He let us set the conversation level. He took us out around the bay and into the ocean a bit. The two hour trip just flew by! It was an amazing and relaxing trip! The catamaran could hold 6 people comfortably, but luckily for us we were the only ones who had signed up for it. This made for a relaxing and romantic ride for my husband and I. I have to say that this was the best thing we did on our entire trip!

We went on a 2 hour tour of St. Augustine's intercoastal waterway in an inflatable research boat. Pros: saw dolphins and birds, guide was knowledgeable, and the boat was dry. Cons: They stick 6 people on a boat that should only have 4. We were unlucky enough to get on last (even though we showed up first), and had to sit facing backwards the entire tour. It's a crap-shoot. You might have a nice tour, or you might pay $50 for next pain, seasickness and a wonderful view of other people in the boat who are actually seeing things because they are facing forward. Pretty lame for $50. Worse, they'll suggest that the boat won't be full. But it will. And you'll be sorry you gave them $40. TIP: Go at the last second. If there are already 4 people, wait until the next tour.

We did the afternoon eco tour on Monday, March 7, 2011 and loved it. We were very appreciate of Zach and Bill's knowledge of the creatures, both winged and sea-bound, the vegetation, and most definitely, the water they navigated. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about the best and safest navigation routes in what can be dangerous and unforgiving waters. We were able to see a lot of birds and a lot of dolphins. Our trip to St. Augustine was fantastic and memorable, thanks to our sailing adventure with Eco Tours. My husband and I rented the catamaran for a private sail, which could not have been better. We'd not sailed in some time, but our guide Aaron, ensured we were comfortable and relaxed. He watched carefully, very intent on safety of us and the boat. He allowed my hubby to take the helm for the entire trip, for an even more special adventure. Mike didn't stop smiling the entire time. We had so much fun on this tour!! The guide Zach speaks in a real voice, not that fake tour guide voice, There wasn't a question he couldn't answer. He'll spot anything there is to be seen, he's got a great spotter's eye for birds and sea life. And a great personality. The boat is actually comfortable and even the most nauseated sailors among us did NOT feel sick. One of us didn't want to go but ended up raving about it. All in all, a rave 5star review for comfort, interest, education and fun. We can be harsh critics but there are just no flaws on this one. Can't wait to go again, The Spencers

Found ECO Tours on Tripadvisor. After reading the description and reviews I knew I had to try them. We were not disappointed. Zach was wonderful in describing the options and make reservations. Captain Adam was want you want in a water tour of this type: calm, easy going, answered questions with ease, informative and full of knowledge about the local flora and fauna. We took the sunset tour and forewarned we may not see dolphin due to the cooler than normal temperatures, went on to see about a dozen. He dropped the mike in the water to hear their echolation, then when they passed, heard the millions of shrimp clicking their pinchers! There was the bald eagle in the nest, the mangrove trees and their pneumatophores, the beautiful colors of the grasses with the sunlights setting rays, and then, to cap it off a roseate spoonbill ambling along the shore! The trip was everything we hoped it would be! Thank you Zack and Captain Adam for a wonderful, perfect outing! After decades of visiting St. Augustine, this was a special treat!
