Camera crews took over Liverpool city centre this week for filming of a new Netflix drama.
The four-part series 'Toxic Town' is based on the true story of the Corby toxic waste scandal. The case found a link between 19 children born with deformities in the Northamptonshire town and the clean-up of toxic waste from its former steelworks.
Filming got underway for the new drama on Monday, September 4, outside Liverpool Town Hall and in Exchange Flags. The show's cast includes Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who), Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting) and Rory Kinnear (Skyfall).

It's not the first time TV crews have flocked to the region in recent weeks for filming of a number of TV shows. Here we take a look at all the filming that's currently taking place across Liverpool and the rest of Merseyside.
An ITV crime drama featuring a Peaky Blinders took over a street in Vauxhall last month.
The crime scene investigation on Upper William Street, just off Great Howard Street, was part of a scene being shot for ITV's hit series The Tower on Wednesday, August 23.
It was announced ITV had commissioned a third series of the gripping crime thriller on August 8. The show, written by acclaimed screenwriter Patrick Harbinson, stars Game Of Throne's star Gemma Whelan, who played Yara Greyjoy, Peaky Blinders star Emmett J Scanlan, Tahirah Sharif and Jimmy Akingbola.
The film is being produced by Harbinson’s Windhover Films and Mammoth Screen and will have four episodes. The Tower has previously been filmed in Liverpool, with Gemma Whelan being spotted inside a car on Vauxhall Road, Liverpool as a technician sat on top of the car in a police chase.
Robin and the Hood
Elsewhere in the region in St Helens, camera crews were spotted filming a new Sky production called 'Robin and the Hood.'
Trucks, props and studio lights were all see near the lakeside to Carr Mill Dam on Tuesday, August 29. It is understood the film is for Sky Studios and directed by Phil Hawkins.
According to the director's Linkedin page, Robin and the Hood is an action and adventure film for the family. People said they had also spotted filming taking place near to St Helens police station.
The Gathering
At the start of August, an actor was seen doing a somersault outside the Empire Theatre as filming got underway for a new Channel 4 drama.
The six-part series is a new drama from Line of Duty producers, World Productions, and written by acclaimed writer and director Helen Walsh. The Gathering tells the story of a violent attack on a teenage girl during a rave on a small island.
It focuses on a group of teens from disparate backgrounds who each could have committed the crime, along with their parents - who give equal cause for suspicion.
Eva Morgan will play Kelly, the victim of the attack and an accomplished gymnast who is on the pathway to world-class competitions, but at odds with her teammates and their ultra-competitive parents.
Kelly also hangs out with a group of urban free-runners, whose reckless lifestyle and free-spirit is in conflict with the discipline and restrictions she experiences in the tightly controlled world of competitive sport.
The cast will also include Liverpool actor Sonny Walker (known for his role as 'Stevo' in BBC's The Responder) as Adam, and newcomers Luca Kamleh- Chapman as Bazi and Hebron Tedros as Dessie.
A Gentleman In Moscow
Earlier this summer in June, TV crews were also spotted outside Liverpool Town Hall as the city doubled as Paris.
It's understood the filming was for a new TV series called ‘A Gentleman In Moscow’ starring Ewan McGregor. The Paramount+ and Showtime series is based on Amor Towles’ internationally bestselling novel.
Pictures taken by an ECHO photographer also showed extras wearing uniforms with a Soviet Union badge. Ewan McGregor is starring in the series as Count Alexander Rostov, a Russian aristocrat who’s forced to make a life for himself in a hotel after being banished there by a Soviet tribunal.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, known for her role in the TV series Fargo, is also starring in the show as Anna Urbanova, a glamorous and beautiful actress at the height of her fame. In the book, she dazzles Rostov and the pair strike up a romance from inside the Hotel Metropol as the fallout of the Russian Revolution happens around them.
Without Guilt
Also in June, camera crews flocked to Aigburth Drive to film a TV adaption of a successful series of German crime novels.
The film 'Without Guilt' - shot for TV has been brought to life by Academy Award winning production house Wiedemann & Berg. Trucks full of equipment were spotted outside a large house in south Liverpool for the shoot.
The film - shot for TV - is an adaptation of the novel ‘Without Guilt’ as part of a film series based on the novels by successful German-language author, Charlotte Link. In Germany alone, more than 33 million books by Link have been sold to date and her novels have been translated into numerous languages.
Based on the book by German-language author Charlotte Link, ' Without Guilt’ follows Detective Kate Linville as she joins North Yorkshire Police and is immediately drawn into an investigation uncovering a cruel secret which puts her in danger. The project is being directed by Suso Richter, who has worked primarily in German TV films.
