Yahtzee Rules

The objective of YAHTZEE is to get as many points as possible by rolling five dice and getting certain combinations of dice.

In each turn a player may throw the dice up to three times. A player doesn't have to roll all five dice on the second and third throw of a round, he may put as many dice as he wants to the side and only throw the ones that don't have the numbers he's trying to get. For example, a player throws and gets 1,3,3,4,6. He decides he want to try for the large straight, 1,2,3,4,5. So, he puts 1,3,4 to the side and only throws 3 and 6 again, hoping to get 2 and 5.

In this game you click on the dice you want to keep. They will be moved down and will not be thrown the next time you press the 'Roll Dice' button. If you decide after the second throw in a turn that you don't want to keep the same dice before the third throw then you can click them again and they will move back to the table and be thrown in the third throw.

Upper section combinations

• Ones: Get as many ones as possible.
• Twos: Get as many twos as possible.
• Threes: Get as many threes as possible.
• Fours: Get as many fours as possible.
• Fives: Get as many fives as possible.
• Sixes: Get as many sixes as possible.

For the six combinations above the score for each of them is the sum of dice of the right kind. E.g. if you get 1,3,3,3,5 and you choose Threes you will get 3*3 = 9 points. The sum of all the above combinations is calculated and if it is 63 or more, the player will get a bonus of 35 points. On average a player needs three of each to reach 63, but it is not required to get three of each exactly, it is perfectly OK to have five sixes, and zero ones for example, as long as the sum is 63 or more the bonus will be awarded.

Lower section combinations

• Three of a kind: Get three dice with the same number. Points are the sum all dice (not just the three of a kind).
• Four of a kind: Get four dice with the same number. Points are the sum all dice (not just the four of a kind).
• Full house: Get three of a kind and a pair, e.g. 1,1,3,3,3 or 3,3,3,6,6. Scores 25 points.
• Small straight: Get four sequential dice, 1,2,3,4 or 2,3,4,5 or 3,4,5,6. Scores 30 points.
• Large straight: Get five sequential dice, 1,2,3,4,5 or 2,3,4,5,6. Scores 40 points.
• Chance: You can put anything into chance, it's basically like a garbage can when you don't have anything else you can use the dice for. The score is simply the sum of the dice.
• YAHTZEE: Five of a kind. Scores 50 points. You can optionally get multiple Yahtzees, see below for details.

Multiple Yahtzees

The rules around multiple Yahtzees are a bit complex. There are a couple of different cases:

• You already have a Yahtzee: You get a 100 bonus points in the Yahtzee box, but you also have a joker, which means that you can choose another move for the Yahtzee you just got. If the number you got yahtzees with has not been filled out in the upper section, then you must choose that. E.g. if you get an additional Yahtzee with 2's, and you haven't filled out the 2's in the upper section then you must choose that, and get 10 points for it. If the upper section box is already filled then you can choose any of the lower region boxes, and they will be scored as normal. Yahtzee is a superset of 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, full house and chance, but you can also choose small or large straight and will get the normal 30 and 40 points for those.

Multiplayer

Note: To keep things simple and even as possible, all multiplayer games allow multiple Yahtzees.

Strategy tips

Try to get the bonus. Focus on getting good throws with fives and sixes, then it won't matter if you put 0 in the ones or twos. You can always put in 0 for a combination if you don't have it, even if you have some other combination. E.g. if you had 2,3,4,5,6 and the only things you had left were Ones and Sixes, then it would be better to put 0 in Ones than to put only 6 in Sixes.

This online version of YAHTZEE was made by me. My name is Einar Egilsson and over there on the left is my current Facebook profile picture! In the last couple of years I've made a number of simple online card games, including Hearts and Spades . After making seven card games and three solitaires I figured it was time to try something else, so I decided to make YAHTZEE (or YATZY as it's known here in Denmark, where the rules and scoring are also slightly different). It's been a fun game to make, and I'm looking forward to seeing how well Bill will play against human opponents :)

The game is made using JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with jQuery and a couple of jQuery plugins used for animations. Since I have no artistic talent whatsoever I used graphics that I found at OpenClipArt , a great site with free graphics.

Welcome to Yahtzee (Yacht Dice Game) online – play for free and without registration, on PC and smartphone. Controlling the computer mouse, roll five dice and try to get the most favorable amount. You can roll the dice three times (and save the right ones by clicking on them).

How to play Yahtzee online

Traditionally 2 to 6 players participate, the online opponent in this version will be a computer, represented by three players. During 12 rounds, the opponents take turns rolling 5 dice. After each roll, the player must choose which numerical values to keep and which to discard, depending on which scoring category he plans to use.

It is allowed to reroll all or some of the dice, no more than three times per turn. The winner in poker on the dice is the player who has an automatic victory for the combination “Yacht” or who finished the game with the highest score.

Yacht Dice Game combinations

By numerical coincidence (“sixes”, “fives”, “fours”, “threes”, “twos”, “ones”) – the player is allowed to add the same numbers of the chosen category. For example, a roll of the dice: 3-3-3-2-2-5 counts as 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 points in “threes”, 2 points in “twos” or 5 in “fives”.

As in card poker, the combination on the dice of five consecutive values is called “Straight” and brings 30 points. The difference is that here a “straight” is a set of any five non-matching digits.

• Full house – 3 and 2 repeats, evaluated as the sum of all values.
• Yacht – (all five dice have the same number on them) brings 50 points.
• Kare is evaluated as the sum of four dice with the same value.
• Choice – the sum of the numerical values is calculated.

After each throw, analyze which numerical values are advantageous for making poker combinations and should be left, and which are better to throw again. Because after every third throw it is mandatory to choose the scoring category.

In this blog, we’ll go over the basic rules on how to play Yacht, as well as some strategies to help out the newer players. Continue reading to learn some of the rules that you’ll have to know in order to succeed.

Rules of The Yacht Dice Game

It can be intimidating to start playing the Yacht. Players start out by rolling five dice, with a complicated scoring sheet right next to the table. This might seem like it's going to be hard to learn. However, when you break this board game down to its core components, you will see that it isn’t so difficult to learn how to play Yacht.

Yacht starts by rolling five different dice. After each roll, you will have the opportunity to decide which dice you would like to keep and which ones you would like to re-roll. After three rolls, you must pick which combination of dice to go with.

Every time that you finish rolling, you must select a new category to put your roll under. There are tons of different categories to select from at the beginning of the game. Categories include ones through sixes (where you sum the corresponding numbers), three of a kind, four of a kind, full house, small straight, large straight, yacht (five of a kind), and chance.

Categories are broken into 2 different areas – the top part of the sheet and the bottom part. The bottom part is all of the niche categories such as small straight, three-of-a-kind, and full house. The top part of the sheet is entirely made of the ones through sixes section. If you are able to get a cumulative score of 63 with those 6 categories in the top part, then players will get a bonus of 35 points on their sheet.

Final Round

After all 13 rounds of Yacht, it is time to total up your entire score. The player with the highest amount of points wins the dice game and is declared champion.Oftentimes this will only come down to 10 or 20 points. Remember, every round counts!

Common Strategies

When going toe to toe against opponents, it can be difficult to come out victorious when you’re just starting. Not to worry though, these small tips and tricks will help to give you a leg up on the competition.

The bonus is key

As we previously mentioned, if you are able to get 63 points total in the section of ones through sixes, you will receive a 35-point bonus. This is an absolutely crucial aspect of the game. You should always make sure to try and hit this point mark, especially the fours, fives, and sixes.

Don't waste your Chance

One of the categories of the Yacht Dice Game is Chance. The Chance category allows you to add up the total of all the dice in a given roll and score that total. It is a useful category that should only be used in emergencies. When the game is nearing the end, having a safety valve is huge.

Know when to take risks

As you near the end of the game, it will become obvious how far ahead or behind you are. This should inform your decisions on how risky you want to play. You may be willing to go for the 50-point Yacht if you are far ahead, or you can play it safe and try and get some easier points in a different category. Understanding how risky you can afford to be is a crucial part of learning how to play Yacht.

So now that you have learned the basics of how to play Yacht, make sure to go and try it for yourself. Whether you want to challenge an opponent from across the world, play against the computer, or sit down and face a friendy, it’ll be a fun and competitive time.

How to Play Yahtzee

In Yahtzee (also known as Poker Dice, Yacht, Generala), the goal is to score more points than your opponents. Each turn, you roll dice and then score one row on your scoresheet.

How to get started

Yahtzee is multiplayer! You can play by yourself, or with up to seven of your friends. To get started, enter a name for yourself (ex: "yahtzee-player-100") and a room name. The room name can be anything you like (ex: "Joan's room" 1). If you're playing with others, they can join your game by using the same room name.

Once you select Play Yahtzee, you'll see the scoresheet and an option to Start Game. Be sure all other players have joined before you start the game. They will not be able to join after you start the game.

A typical turn First, you roll your dice, by pressing the Roll button. Based on what you rolled, you can score one row on your scoresheet, based on the following rules:

To score a row, simply tap or click on the corresponding row in the scoresheet under your player's column. Once you've scored a particular row, your turn ends. You can only score a row once per game - so choose wisely!

If you don’t like what you've rolled, don't worry - you have a total of three rolls every turn. Before your next roll, you may choose to keep dice by clicking or tapping on them. This will prevent those dice from being rolled. For example, if you've rolled 6,6,6,1,2 on your first roll, you may want to keep your sixes and roll for a four of a kind or Yahtzee.

The game continues until all players have filled out all rows, at which point the person with the most points wins.

You now know how to play Yahtzee! But there's a few more special rules you may want to learn:

The bonus The top section is the first six rows - ones, twos, threes, fours, fives and sixes. If the sum of your score in the top section is greater than or equal to 63, you automatically get 35 bonus points. Spectacular!

Multiple Yahtzees Your first Yahtzee is worth 50 points if you score it in the Yahtzee row. If you roll an additional Yahtzee, and you've already scored your Yahtzee, you:

• Automatically get 100 bonus points 😲
• You can use the additional Yahtzee as a joker or wild card. If you haven't scored the corresponding number in the top section, you must score it there - for example, if you've rolled five sixes, and you haven't scored your Sixes, you can score it there. If you've already scored the corresponding number in the top section, you can score it anywhere you like on the bottom.

If you roll a Yahtzee and you've already entered a 0 on your Yahtzee row, you may still use it as a wild card.

Once the game starts, you can tap or click on your buddy to emote.

Each player in turn tries to score the highest possible amount for each of the twelve categories on the score sheet.  In each turn a player has up to three throws rolling the dice, setting aside any they wish to use for a category and rolling the remainder.  They do not have to use all three throws and may stop after the first or second.  Players must fill in a score for a category after each turn but once it is used they may not change it.  Categories may be filled in any order.

After each player has had twelve turns and all the categories on the score sheet have been filled, the scores are totalled, and the player with the highest total, wins the game.

1 Ones   Score one point for each 1 thrown. Maximum of 5 points. 2 Twos   Score two points for each 2 thrown. Maximum of 10 points. 3 Threes   Score three points for each 3 thrown. Maximum of 15 points. 4 Fours   Score four points for each 4 thrown. Maximum of 20 points. 5 Fives   Score five points for each 5 thrown. Maximum of 25 points. 6 Sixes   Score six points for each 6 thrown. Maximum of 30 points. 7 Little Straight   1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Scores 30 points. 8 Big Straight   2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Scores 30 points. 9 Full House   Three-of-a-kind and a pair. Scores total value of all dice. 10 Four of a Kind   Scores total value of the four dice. i.e. 6, 6, 6, 6, 2 scores 24 points. 11 Chance   No pattern required. Scores total value of all five dice. 12 Yacht   Five-of-a-kind scores 50 points.

For example a turn might go something like this.  A player rolls all five dice resulting with the numbers 6, 6, 6, 3, 3.  They could score for a full house without any further throws.  But if the full house category is already used they would set aside the three 6s and roll the remaining two dice to try and gain a good score for the sixes category.  The remaining dice are rolled again and come up as a 4 and 6.  The 6 is kept making four-of-a-kind and the remaining die rolled as the last throw. It is a 6 as well making a Yacht (five-of-a-kind) and scores 50 points which ends a very lucky turn.  It is common for a player to enter zero for a category and players often use the 1s for this because it is low scoring.

Variations:

Yahtzee is played as described above but the score sheet is divided into two sections.  1s through to 6s as the first section, and the remaining categories as the second.  At the end of a game you score a bonus of 35 if the 1s to 6s section totals 63 or more.  Additionally the definition of a big straight is any run of five consecutive dice values and a little straight any run of four consecutive dice values.  Players score 40 for a big straight not 30.

General is played as described above for Yacht but with the following differences.

There is only one straight scored in General and can be either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.  It scores 25 points if made with only one throw and only 20 points if made on the second or third.  For this category Aces (1s) are wild and may represent a 2 or a 6 if either or both are needed to make a straight.

The full house scores 35 points if made with one throw and 30 points if made on the second or third.

Four-of-a-kind scores 45 points if made with one throw and 40 points if made on the second or third.

The Yacht category is know as a general .  If it is made with one throw then it wins the game with no further play and is known as a big general .  If made on the second or third throw it scores 60 points and is known as a small general .

When played for stakes the winner receives the difference between his score and that of each of the other players at a pre-arranged sum for each point.

Double Cameroon is played in much the same way as Yacht but with ten dice.  At the end of a player's turn the dice are divided into two groups of five and are used to score two categories of the player's choice.  Five rounds are played for the ten categories, which are; categories 1 to 6 and a full house score the same as in Yacht .  Little Cameroon (a little straight) scores 21 points.  Big Cameroon (a big straight) scores 30 points.  Five-of-a-kind ( Yacht ) scores 50 points.

Yahtzee Dice Game Rules

How to play yahtzee dice game.

The objective of the game is to score the most points by rolling dice to make certain combinations. The game is played with five six-sided dice.

Each player is given 13 turns in all to score. In each turn the dice can be rolled up to three times. The player is not required to roll dice for exactly three times. If they have achieved a combination earlier, they can call it and pass the turn to next player. There are a total of 13 possible combinations and each combination can only be used once so once a player has called for a combination and used it, it can not be used to score in later turns.

Upper Section:

Players can make 35 points bonus if they score a total of 63 or more in upper section.

Lower Section:

Some combinations can be used to choose which category to use them for. For ex. A full house could be scored in the Full House, the Three-Of-A-Kind, or the Chance category.

Horrifying yacht blaze forces tourists to dive into sea to escape

The vessel, which is named "Eagles", burst into flames while off the coast of Marmaris in Turkey before sinking into the ocean depths on Thursday afternoon

Tourists were forced to dive into the open ocean after a massive inferno erupted on a boat carrying 110 people.

Horrifying footage showed the vessel being engulfed by the blaze when the boat caught fire off the coast of Marmaris in Turkey. A short while after catching fire, the 20-metre boat - named "Eagles" - sank on Thursday afternoon.

The reason for the fire is currently unknown but it's been alleged that it started in the engine room before tearing through the rest of the ship.

Thankfully, most of the 110 passengers escaped unscathed and managed to get away from the lethal fire in time. There are thought to be seven individuals who are being treated for unknown injuries in hospital. Three of them are said to be in critical condition, according to Protothema .

Police are said to have arrested the owner of the ship and its captain. Terrifying footage showed passengers swimming frantically away from the boat. Bystanders on long boards were also seen trying to help.

Other boats were said to have flocked to the area to help pick thr tourists from the sea. The clip shows huge flames snaking through the entirety of the boat as thick plumes of smoke funnel into the air. The sea is covered with life jackets and passengers of nearby ships watch the horrific scenes unfold.

The ship was almost completely gutted by flames to the point it was almost dust before it sank into the depths of the ocean. Turkish police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Earlier this month, the desperate family of a Brit grandma left in a coma after falling off her mobility scooter while on holiday in Turkey are trying to bring her back to the UK.

Linda Bateson's family were told to 'prepare for the worst' after she fractured her back when she came off the vehicle on a family holiday in Oludeniz, Turkey.

Linda, 72, went to hospital where she developed pneumonia and a fungal infection in her lungs and was placed in a coma - and her family now want to fly her home. But they say they have been told they may have to fund the medical bills herself as they say the insurance company argued that her high blood pressure was not listed correctly as hypertension.

They currently don't know how much Linda's medical bills will cost but a private medical flight back to the UK is a whopping £45,000. Her granddaughter Elisha Thompson, 24, said: "It's been heart-breaking.

A fully playable PC build for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been leaked online, and here are 15 minutes of gameplay from it

It appears that today is not a good day for Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment. A fully playable PC build for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been leaked online, almost two months before the game’s official release.

From what we know, this PC build is fully playable from the get-go. In other words, you won’t have to compile anything. This PC build is around 75GB in size, and it allows you to play the entire single-player campaign mode.

To prove that this PC build is actually real, YouTube’s ‘Skrum’ shared the following video. This video shows off 15 minutes of gameplay from it. This is also never-before-seen footage. So yes, this is the real deal.

The YouTuber has also shared the PC graphics settings. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be powered by Saber Interactive’s proprietary engine. This engine was also used in  World War Z which ran extremely well on PC . From what we can see, this pre-release build does not support NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR.

PC gamers will be able to adjust the quality of Details, Post-Processing, Shadows, Lighting, Effects, Textures and Cloths Physics. As you will see, the final version will have images to showcase these effects (in this build, they are just placeholders). There is also a Framerate Limiter that can let you set the framerate to 30fps, 60fps, 120fps or unlimited.

Since this is a pre-release build, it might have some visual glitches and placeholders. It may also lack some performance optimizations. So, don’t judge the game based on the following video. Still, this is a huge leak.

To capture this gameplay footage, the YouTuber used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, and ran the game at 1080p on High Settings. Sadly, he did not include any performance overlay, so we can’t be sure about the performance. The video is choppy but this could be due to encoding issues (as it also appears to be of low quality).

I expect Focus Entertainment to take this video down in the blink of an eye. Thus, you should watch it while it’s still live.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9th . And, for those wondering, we still don’t have the game’s official PC system requirements.

Last week, publisher Focus Entertainment announced that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 had gone gold , meaning development was complete, and the game was ready for release. With the game in the gold state, it seemed sure that there would be no further delays, and fans would only have to wait two more months before returning to the role of Ultramarine Titus as he faced threats from the Tyranids alongside a new squad. Unfortunately, bad news traveled faster than the game's release.

According to the publisher, "It's disheartening that many of the surprises we worked to keep secret were spoiled." To prevent this, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, the developer of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 , are pursuing YouTube channels that post videos of the game using this version, taking down the content and even the channels themselves, citing copyright violations.

This leaked version of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 appears to be a build from June 20, which could have been the version of the game intended for the canceled Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 open beta . In any case, it's a shame for the publisher and all the developers involved with the game.

We’re into the halfway point of the 2024 WNBA season, and the league is heading into an extended break with the WNBA All-Star Game Weekend . It’s also going to be the first time that rivals Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will play on the same team, as teammates on Team WNBA.

The two-day event livestreams on ESPN for the skills competition and 3-point contest on Friday, July 19, and then on ABC for the All-Star Game itself on Saturday, July 20.

Saber Interactive has acknowledged the leak , and says the build is almost a year old: "We're saddened that this build, which will be almost a year old by the time we launch, is how some of our most eager fans will first experience Space Marine 2."

A roughly 70 gigabyte build of upcoming action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was uploaded to a piracy website on Sunday, seemingly leaking what may be a complete version of the game nearly two months before launch.

According to a post on 4chan's /v/ message board (as noticed by Insider Gaming ), the build dates to June 20, 2024. If accurate, it would essentially be the finished version of Space Marine 2—on July 9, publisher Focus Entertainment announced that the game had gone gold . PC Gamer can confirm that a file purporting to be a development build of Space Marine 2 is currently listed on a Russian torrent site, with videos taken from the build starting to appear on YouTube. The site indicates more than 500 people have already downloaded the leaked build.

The YouTube account posting video from the build hasn't exactly been circumspect; when someone in the comments asked where they got the game, they replied "can't say sorry these are at risk of being taken down but I'd be fucked if I said where" before then giving away the obvious source within the same sentence : "just look on a certain .ru site with magnet links you should know the one."

The leaked videos do indicate that the build is not quite complete—in the graphics settings menu, for example, there are placeholder assets where screenshots are meant to display the difference between various settings like tiers for anti-aliasing and lighting quality. With seven weeks to go before the planned September 9 launch, the leak may make it tough to avoid spoilers for Space Marine 2's campaign, which sees the return of ultramarine Captain Titus.

Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive recently decided to cancel a planned public beta test to focus on optimization ahead of launch, but it may now be spending some of that time scrambling to scrub the leak from the internet. We've reached out to publisher Focus Entertainment for comment and will update this story if we receive a reply.

A pre-release build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has leaked online two months before release, according to reporting by Insider Gaming . This is a fully playable version that was “randomly posted on a tracker,” according to sources who have downloaded and experimented with the build. It remains unclear how the game ended up online.

Players have said that the game is around 75GB in size. Though this leaked build is playable, it does have some issues. There are missing strings and a bunch of placeholder assets, but the version does include server data that should allow for online play. As expected, gameplay footage has begun popping up online, but we’ll refrain from posting any so as to keep things spoiler-free. We will drop a trailer though, because the game looks neat.

In addition to forgoing gameplay videos, we don’t recommend heading to a torrent site to look for the leaked build. This is not only bad for the hard-working folks who made the game, but will more than likely riddle your PC with more bugs than an open Florida patio in summer. Torrents ain’t what they used to be.

Developers Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have issued a statement regarding the leak, asking fans to wait for the official release and thanking them for ongoing support. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 comes out on September 9 and will be available for the PS5, Xbox Series S|X and PC.
