History of pershing Yachts

In 1981 Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti and Giuliano Onori founded Pershing yachts in Mondolfo, Italy. Only four years later, with the help of yacht designer Fulvio De Simone, the brand launched its first yacht: the Pershing 45. Its missile-like design is now a signature of the builder as it promises high-performance and speed. As one of the first yacht builders of its time to focus on performance as well as comfort and style, Pershing yachts were well received.

The Italian yacht brand’s popularity grew in the early 90s and the builder expanded its market out of Italy and into other Mediterranean countries as well as the United States and Asia. Pershing continued to build luxury yachts as a stand-alone brand for 17 years, but in 1998 it was purchased by the Ferretti Group. Pershing thrived as part of the Ferretti team, continuing to grow the size of its luxury performance yachts.

The Weichai Group purchased a 75-percent stake in the Ferretti Group, which includes yacht builder Pershing, in 2012. Today, Pershing continues to build luxury performance motor yachts outfitted with advanced propulsion systems at its state-of-the-art 53,000-square-foot Mondolfo shipyard. Pershing Yachts started in 1982 as a subsidiary of Ferretti Group in Forli, Italy. Thanks to their bold design aesthetic and focus on creating performance-oriented boats, they soon established themselves as an industry leader.

Founded in 1981 by Italian entrepreneurs Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti and Guiliano Onori, Pershing yachts was finally established in 1985 in an era that was fertile ground for visionaries and talented designers that spent their time imagining a new way of building boats. As new technologies and design innovations were being introduced to the world, Pershing Yachts was able to make use of these new elements that led to building some of the finest yachts in the industry. Built to be as fast as a powerboat, but as comfortable as a motoryacht, Pershing yachts started a new revolution with the Pershing 45. Pershing has established itself as being a leading builder of fiberglass sport yachts over the years and has no desire to imitate anyone else or even themselves. In the early 90s, the company expanded to international horizons and broke into the Mediterranean countries, the United States, and the Far East making the world become increasingly aware of their talented abilities. The company finally joined forces with the Ferretti Group in 1998 – becoming a part of one of the most highly known luxury yacht production companies in the world.

This ensued tremendous growth and continuous success for the Pershing name. Opportunities were made when the Weichai group became the majority shareholder of the Ferretti group, allowing Pershing to make use of their financial strength, strategic vision and inventive qualities. As an ambassador of beauty and Italian style, Pershing has made several impressive design choices that have ultimately gone down in history – having livable accommodations and impressive speed. Several notable features include the hydraulic gangway introduced in their first model, the usage of vacuum infusion lamination system to create he fiberglass structure, large monolithic glazing, the optimization of space inside and outside, and of course the high level of personalization to each and every model offered to yacht owners. Innovation has been a key work in the Pershing vocabulary and they show no signs of stopping to discover new technological improvements that continually set new standards in terms of performance and comfort.

Pershing 108

Pershing lives up to its name by building a yacht that exceeds all expectations with the Pershing 108’. Perishing’s often seem to defy the laws of physics – a bigger boat means a slower pace, but not for Pershing. The 108 is nearly the heaviest Pershing yet, and can push speeds up to 40 knots. Although fast, she still exhibits large boat-like features by having a 22-foot beam providing plenty of scope. The three-cabin layout provides a roomy living space by also having a large square-set seating and aft dining table. Characterized with low cabinets and large glass areas, the deck remains deceptively simple with a rational big, feeling large and livable. The flybridge fits snugly into the profile of a 108, having sculpted side rails and a helm station (optional) that features foldout sun loungers, a large settee, foldout table, and barbeque center accommodating any boat goer. Three engines fit nicely within the engine compartment with good access to all maintenance points. Well-ordered and arranged, this engine room has very high engineering standards by having the auxiliaries in a separate compartment forward the main engine room acting as a great sound barrier. The design of a 108 makes a great deal of sense and with its high performance; this model is a must for those who appreciate quality and comfort.

Pershing 90

Crafted with innovation in mind, the 90’ highlights all the best elements of Pershing – aggressiveness, revolutionary design, and impressive speed. This mega yacht combines remarkable size with perfect seaworthiness making it one of a kind. Externally, the 90’ signifies its aggressiveness, but internally peace is the theme. The choice of luxury materials and innovative space solutions display a harmony of design throughout the model. The layout balances out nicely and includes many private spaces that are spacious and comfortable. Designed to be modern, but not minimalist – the 90’ optimizes the use of space to give added features. The airy saloon stretches a third of the length of the boat including double sliding glass doors that open onto the stern dining area, while the bow opens to the helm station that includes an aviation-style cockpit. Below deck you will see the cabins and lower lounge area that can be accessed from the main saloon. Throughout the cabin, the oak contrasts nicely with the wenge flooring, providing decorative details. This elegant, yet powerful model shows great design and exquisite craftsmanship.

Pershing 74

Built with a distinctly open personality, the 74’ Pershing includes stylistic features that make it known that Pershing keeps a close eye on their details. Offering a master cabin and two guest cabins, this model can host up to 6 guests, making it a great getaway on the water. The layout and design emphasizes elegance by having the quality of the furnishings throughout the vessel. With the salon doors and sunroof closed, the 74’ is also incredibly quiet, providing a nice smooth ride for all guests. Technology also plays an important role, starting from the loved foldaway door between the cockpit and living room – making the exterior and interior blend to create a spacious area. The retractable full-length hard top is also a key factor in the 74’ by having multiple purposes, including a retractable gangway, a swimming ladder and a docking staircase. This innovative model is one not to be missed.

Pershing 64

The Pershing 64’ is one that can handle challenging conditions, while still showing off its luxurious and capable qualities. Replacing the excellent 62 in the lineup, the 64’ was built to reinvent the brand with stylistic and technological advances. Defined with its new curves, the superstructure includes an extending cockpit overhang, a saloon bulkhead, along with workable and well-equipped galley that extends low on the portside providing ample space. New décor sweeps throughout the model, with plenty of daylight washing through to highlight the crisp minimalist interior design.   In addition to its looks, the 64’ was built for high performance, being 6 tons heavier than the 62 as well as two feet longer on the same beam. A two-seat helm sits on the starboard side with a view stretching out to sea. Not only does the 64’ provide comfort and power, but it provides style for any boat owner.

ABOUT PERSHING YACHTS It started out as a simple shipyard in 1981 when three Italian friends Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti, and Giuliano Onori founded Cantiere Navale dell’Adriatico in Mondolfo, Italy. They built laminate boats but soon became more interested in motor yachts.

VESSEL INNOVATION BY PERSHING YACHTS Pershing’s first boat, a 45’ open yacht, delivered what they wanted: An abundance of power in an opulent package, but they didn’t stop there. Innovations continued.

The history of the Italian brand Pershing begins in 1981 with the creation of a private shipyard by yachtsmen and entrepreneurs Tilly Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti and Giuliano Honori. The concept and brand name was formed after the addition of Fulvio De Simoni - Pershing, which is associated with rocket, speed and maneuverability. This corresponded to the first 45 model in 1985, so it was successful.

Joining the Ferretti Group allowed to expand research, develop and introduce innovative methods of construction. In 2012, the Chinese SHIG-Weichai Group acquires a stake in the Ferretti Group, which provides financial support and new markets.

Yachts from 14 to 35 meters long are produced in Mondolfo on an area of 53 thousand square meters, and superyachts 115 and 140 models are produced at the shipyard in Ancona, designed for such construction. The Pershing lineup includes eight high-speed sports yachts and superyachts from 16 to 43 meters long , made in composite and aluminum hulls.

The brand’s particularity is its high speeds, so the captain can be called a pilot, like on racing cars. All yachts are characterized by stability, lack of vibration, perfect control and safety.

42-knot Pershing motor yacht Bombadil III sold

The 28.1-metre Pershing motor yacht Bombadil III has been sold, with Burgess representing the seller and Lafortune Yachts representing the buyer.

Built in GRP composite in 2021, the 9X model was designed by Fulvio De Simoni , with naval architecture by Ferretti Engineering Department . 

Accommodation is for eight to nine guests in four cabins, comprising three doubles and one twin. There are quarters for a crew of three. The "trademark disappearing window" makes the interior and exterior deck spaces flow into one another seamlessly. There are three exterior deck areas dedicated to guests – on the stern, sundeck and foredeck.

Twin 2,638hp MTUs push Bombadil III to a top speed of 42 knots and cruising speed of 35 knots. The brokers pointed out that the yacht for sale has only been used privately and there are low hours on the engines. She benefits from Seakeeper NG9 stabilisation.

Bombadil III was asking €5,995,000.

Music and concerts, music and concerts | what to know if you’re headed to the minnesota yacht club festival, gwen stefani, alanis morissette and red hot chili peppers are headlining.

For the first time in a dozen years, St. Paul’s Harriet Island Regional Park will host a major rock and pop music festival, dubbed the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, on Friday and Saturday.

Headlined by Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the festival (which despite its name has nothing to do with yacht rock) is promoted by C3 Presents, an Austin, Texas, company that’s also behind Austin City Limits Music Festival, Voodoo Music + Arts Experience and the modern-day Lollapalooza. C3 was the largest independent promoter in the world until Live Nation bought a controlling stake in the company in 2014.

Organizers expect to attract more than 30,000 concertgoers each day.

While the Irish Fair of Minnesota calls Harriet Island home each August, music festivals have had a rough go on the site. The original Lollapalooza (back when it was a traveling festival) landed on the site in 1991, 1992 and 1994, but flooding forced the fest to move to the late St. Paul Civic Center in 1993.

Live Nation attempted to establish a new annual event, the River’s Edge Music Festival, in 2012. Despite big-name headliners Tool and the Dave Matthews Band, the festival didn’t attract enough paying customers to convince the concert promoting giant to return for a second year.

Here’s what folks headed to the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival need to know:

As of Wednesday afternoon, tickets were still available at a number of price points, starting at $135 for one day general admission (or $255 for two days) all the way up to platinum tickets for $925 ($1,395 for two days), which include a number of perks including free food and drinks, front-of-stage viewing and access to an air-conditioned lounge. Many of the general admission and general admission plus tickets are sold out, but there are verified resale tickets available, some at lower prices than face value.

Getting there

There are two entrances to the festival. The main entrance is at Harriet Island Boulevard and South Wabasha Street, while the west entrance is on West Water Street between Bidwell Street and Plato Boulevard.

There is no on-site parking at the festival, but its website lists numerous downtown St. Paul parking lots that are a 10- to 16-minute walk from the site. Several Metro Transit buses stop a half-mile from Harriet Island. The rideshare drop off is at 49 E. Fillmore Ave. The festival promises “ample bike parking” located near the two entrances.

What is allowed on site

Feel free to bring: Small clutch purses and fanny packs (6” x 9” or smaller) with no more than one pocket, all other bags must be clear and smaller than 12” x 6” x 12”, empty hydration packs and reusable water bottles, strollers, frisbees, binoculars, blankets, basic cameras (no detachable lenses or other accessories), sunscreen in non-aerosol containers (3.4 ounces or less), personal-sized hand sanitizer and factory sealed Naloxone/Narcan kits.

What isn’t allowed

Pretty much everything you would think, including outside food and beverage, coolers, aerosol containers, umbrellas, chairs, wagons, skateboards, drones, fireworks and illegal substances.

Concertgoers must wear securely fastened wristbands that are available at the box office. Wristbands can be activated online to add an emergency contact and to use for cashless transactions (with a pin number). Wristbands that are damaged, lost or stolen can be replaced by the original purchaser one time only for $20. Patrons can leave and reenter at will up until 7 p.m. each day.

There is a guest services tent that has earplugs and a lost and found. Free hydration stations are located throughout the site. Lockers are available to rent for $25 each day or $48.50 for both.

Who is playing

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. There are two stages, with staggered performances that do not overlap.

Friday’s schedule includes: Gully Boys (1-2 p.m.), Harbor and Home (2-2:40 p.m.), Morgan Wade (2:40-3:40), Michigander (3:40-4:40), Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (4:40-5:40), Durry (5:40-6:40), Gwen Stefani (6:45-8), The Head and the Heart (8-9) and Alanis Morissette (9-10:30).
