2021 Monaco Yacht Show: The Complete Guide
Source: Denison Yachting
Everything You Need To Know Before Attending The Monaco Yacht Show.
Courtesy of Denison Yachting, By Marina Nazario – The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) will return to the quays of Port Hercules and unveil another outstanding fleet of superyachts on display for purchase or charter by the leading names in the yachting industry. The annual show is presenting a new format for 2021 that will refocus the event on superyacht clients, for a less crowded and more exclusive experience. European builders such as Benetti , Feadship , Lürssen , Oceanco , and Sanlorenzo are still confirmed to be in attendance.
Held at Monaco’s Port Hercules from September 22-25, 2021, MYS will feature more than 300 exhibitors, 60 superyachts, and 40 brand new launches, including boats leading the sail, motor, and explorer ranges.
Whether you’re in the market for a new superyacht, interested in an unforgettable yacht charter experience, or eager to get a glimpse of the latest onboard design trends, here’s your complete guide to the Monaco Yacht Show.
What To Expect [Safey Measures, Travel, Exhibitions]
In light of COVID-19, MYS and Informa Markets are working together to create a Covid-safe event. There is a list of sanitary measures in place to promote a safe event, including the presentation of a valid health pass at the show entrances, enhanced cleaning, hand sanitizing stations, and social distancing. U.S. citizens traveling to Monaco for the boat show must present proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 48 hours or proof of vaccination.
Once you’re in Monaco, there are plenty of luxury hotels and five-star restaurants close to the boat show. Monaco Yacht Show also provides options for arranging transportation , including a private jet, helicopter, shuttle boats, and chauffeur. When you’re settled in and ready to enjoy the event, expect to see and tour some of the biggest superyachts on display.
Show organizers are consistently looking for new ways to attract the next wave of yacht owners, specifically young clientele who have a penchant for high-tech and innovation. Perhaps that’s why the tenders and toys exhibition was a hit during previous years, and will return for its fourth installment in 2021. At this exhibit, you’ll find everything from jet packs and fly boards to amphibious vehicles and personal submarines.
New to the event this year is the yacht design and innovation hub where you can discuss your first yacht building project with the designer and attend live presentations. MYS organizers aim at enhancing the first-time superyacht experience of the new generation of customers who plan to build their future yacht.
The Monaco Yacht Summit is an annual event that offers detailed information about yachting to clients through a series of panel discussions led by experts in the yachting industry. Attendees have a chance to speak with selected specialists who can answer their questions about various aspects of yacht charter, purchase, operation, and ownership. The Monaco Yacht Summit is held on September 21, 2021 at the Monaco Yacht Club.

The Ultimate Guide to the Monaco Yacht Show
The Monaco Yacht Show is a four-day event that takes place each year in Monaco’s deepwater port, Port Hercules, and is Europe’s biggest in-water display of superyachts of over 20 metres long. At any time of the year, impressive yachts are moored in the principality’s harbour, but this annual trade show really does take luxury yachting to a whole new level.
125 one-off superyachts feature in the monaco boat show.
The Monaco Yacht Show was started in 1991 by the French entrepreneur Maurice Cohen and was most recently acquired by British event organiser Informa in 2005. Today, the show has grown to curate an exhibition of 125 superyachts, welcoming over 550 companies from the yachting industry and unveiling 45 new launches in a worldwide premiere.
How to be dazzled by the Monaco yachts
The Professional Pass is for professionals of the nautical and luxury markets and costs a cool €950, while the Sapphire Experience doesn’t come with a provided price tag, which gives you an idea of the kind of exclusive visit it is. It is reserved for future superyacht charterers or owners and more details and contact information are available on the event’s website .
Something for car lovers, too
In 2016, the Monaco Yacht Show introduced Car Deck, an exhibition space within the boat show to showcase luxury cars. Manufacturers have included Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin and more. Take a look at the yacht show’s layout for information on entrances, lounges, refreshment areas and more.
Arrive by helicopter
In for a penny, in for a pound. Unsurprisingly, one of the most popular ways to travel to Monaco is by helicopter, which could be just what you’re looking for if planning an exclusive trip to the Monaco Yacht Show. Monacair links the Nice airport to Monaco in just seven minutes. In true Monaco fashion, seven minutes will set you back €130!
Monaco’s train station connects with Nice’s main station, too, which provides a slightly more affordable option and of course, you can drive to the principality, as long as the underground parking systems don’t put you off.

The Most Impressive Superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show
Following a summer of record demand this year’s event was glitzier than ever.
By Irenie Forshaw
Each September, thousands of yacht builders, designers and owners descend on Port Hercule for the Monaco Yacht Show. It is here, in the heart of the picturesque Côte d’Azur, that boat lovers make their annual pilgrimage to catch a glimpse of the world’s newest – and most exciting – vessels.
This year, the hotly anticipated event took place between September 28 and October 1. And, following a summer of record demand for superyachts spurred by the pandemic, the 2022 iteration was bigger and glitzier than ever.
With over 600 exhibitors showcasing 125 superyachts, there was no shortage of incredible boats on display. So, whether you’re considering taking the plunge and purchasing a yacht of your own, or you’re simply here to marvel at the latest builds, we’ve rounded up the most impressive vessels on display at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

Project TIME
Kicking off our list of the biggest reveals at the Monaco Yacht Show is Project TIME. The 282-ft explorer yacht concept is the brainchild of German shipbuilder Abeking & Rasmussen and Valentin Design.
Suited for cold and warm water expeditions, the ship has been designed to travel everywhere from Antarctica to the South Pacific Islands. Powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system, Project Time would deliver a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 14 knots, and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Boasting a helipad platform, submarine, two lounges and even an onboard German brewery, this is no ordinary yacht. The extravagant vessel also features an extra wide owner’s duplex suite complete with two marble bathrooms and an expansive balcony.

Dutch shipyard Feadship unveiled its eleventh cutting-edge yacht concept at the show, Slice. Studio de Voogt was brought in for the project, with the ambitious goal of turning “the inside out and the outside in”. To this end, the design team fitted the yacht with a glass strip running from bow to stern, bathing the decks in natural light.
Unlike many yachts that are plagued by gloomy corridors and claustrophobic living spaces, the interiors onboard Slice are bright and breezy. At the heart of the yacht on the main deck is a sprawling 750-sq-ft atrium flanked by cascading circular balconies, which, according to Feadship is so much more than a lobby and instead becomes “a destination in its own right”.
In a sign of Feadship’s dedication to using the latest technology, Slice would be fitted with a propulsion system powered by four dual-fuel generators modified to run on both methanol and non-fossil diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil), with the generated power delivered to two Azimuthing pods.

Our list of the best superyachts on display at Monaco Yacht Show would not be complete without mentioning Lusine. The 196-ft vessel is Heesen’s largest ever steel Fast Displacement motor yacht and features a sleek silhouette with black thermo-bonded dark glass windows to keep out prying eyes.
Perhaps most impressive of all is the touch-and-go helipad on the sundeck which can accommodate an Airbus H-135. Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design was brought in to mastermind the lavish interiors. Lusine comfortably sleeps twelve set across six spacious staterooms, each of which has been thoughtfully adorned with bespoke furnishings and elegant sculptures. The most exclusive abode is the owner’s apartment located up on the bridge deck which has its own staircase to ensure total privacy.

Come Together
Next up on our list is the first vessel in Amel’s new 60 Limited Edition Series. Designed by Espen Oeino International and built in the Netherlands, Come Together was delivered to her owner this Spring for an estimated €69.5m (approx. $68.6m).
The gleaming new superyacht spans 196 ft and features a teak deck, steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Winch Design is responsible for the laid-back yet elegant interiors that are reminiscent of a relaxed family home in shades of walnut and bronze.
Come Together has been fitted with a hybrid propulsion system for smooth, quiet cruising and features an expansive sun deck and 157-ft swim platform.
espenoeino.com , winchdesign.com
Winch Design and Heesen also unveiled XV67 at the Monaco Yacht Show – a brand new explorer yacht concept that builds on their XVenture design concept from four years ago.
The 187-ft vessel has been given a refreshed layout and updated with the latest technology. While the robust steel hull remains, she is 32 ft longer than her predecessor and the tenders have been moved to the open aft deck freeing up space for even larger guest cabins and an expansive three-story master stateroom.
As seems to be becoming commonplace onboard the newest superyachts, VX67 boasts a helipad (that functions as an al fresco cinema when not in use) and has space to store a personal submarine on deck.

Meyer took the Monaco Yacht Show as an opportunity to share the very first renderings of its sustainable One50 concept. The vessel – which was first unveiled a year ago at the 2021 show – is powered electrically by 25,000 kilowatts enabling her to reach a maximum speed of 23 knots.
After a year long wait to see what One50 could like, the renderings certainly don’t disappoint. Wellness is at the heart of the design; the 492-ft yacht features a retractable swimming pool, massage parlour, sauna and hammam. Other highlights include the top deck which is reserved entirely for the owner’s use and boasts an enormous suite complete with a private terrace.
Four Seasons Yacht
Last but by no means least on our roundup of the most impressive vessels unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show is Four Seasons’ first branded yacht . Slated to set sail at the end of 2025, no expense has been spared by the luxury hotel group, with each suite costing a cool $4.2m to build.
The gigantic vessel will be 679 ft long and 88.6 ft wide with 14 decks and a total of 95 rooms and suites. While the initial launch is just one yacht, the order includes the option to add two further ships in the future – amounting to an eyewatering $1.1bn.
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will build the Four Seasons yacht in Trieste before Tillberg Design of Sweden and London-based Martin Brudnizki are brought in to put their stamp on the interiors. As you would expect from the luxury hotel brand, the yacht will feature an array of facilities including gourmet restaurants, bars, and a full-service spa.

Port Hercule, Monaco
22 - 25 Sep 2021
By Katie Scott
After its cancellation in 2020 as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the eyes of the superyacht world will turn to Monaco this autumn as its Yacht Show returns for the 30th edition, running from 22-25 September 2021.
Scheduled to host an impressive collection of superyachts from around the globe, the Monaco Yacht Show caters to thousands of attendees who become part of nothing less than one of the most extravagant yachting events of the year.
Hosting more than 120 yachts around the prestigious location of Port Hercule, approximately 50 yachts will be making their official debut, some of which will indeed be global premieres.
In addition to the up-close viewing of the newest and most exciting models on the market, visitors will also witness a sprinkling of eyecatching superyachts at anchor in the waters of the French Riviera .
New client-oriented format for 2021
Revamped for 2021, the MYS is much more client-oriented, offering a 'bespoke experience of unparalleled prestige'.
A new registration and badge system has been introduced, with badges generated according to each visitor's profile. Buyers and charterers will be allocated a 'Discover' badge, their advisers and consultants will receive an 'Advise' badge and all trade visitors are allocated a 'Connect' badge.
In addition to the new system, day one of the event will be dedicated solely to superyacht end-users and advisors. Allowing them the chance to view the show in a more personalized setting. The show will then be open to all badge holders from day two onwards.
What to expect at the MYS
Coming from some of the most well-known brands in the world, attending yachts at the show are of the highest quality and feature names like Benetti, Princess, Tankoa and the Ferretti Group.
In addition to the usual dominance of sleek and stylish motor yachts , the Monaco Yacht Show is introducing brand new areas to the 2021 layout with areas dedicated to sailing, design and exploration, plus an attraction named the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub, that looks to present technological solutions to Owners and their teams, for an all-round enhanced yachting experience.
We work to offer our visitors an entertaining and instructive plunge into the world of superyachting, while serving the interest of the industry. Gaëlle Tallarida, General Manager, MYS
Events are just as much a part of the prestigious show as the iconic displays of luxury superyachts. Preceding the show itself, the Monaco Yacht Summit is a big draw for the start of the festivities and proves to be a valuable asset for attaining a better understanding and vision of the yachting industry, as well as being great icebreaking territory.
Offering visitors the chance to mingle with industry experts, panelists and other enthusiasts, the Summit is an ideal starting point to make new contacts before heading to a luxury yacht charter to close deals.
Also making a comeback for the 2021 event the VIP Sapphire Experience will also have a busy schedule of social events to attend, such as the opening show gala evening and of course access to the highly sought-after MYS Superyacht Awards Ceremony.

About Event
Monaco Yacht Show 2022
The Monaco Yacht Show is the landmark event in the yachting industry calendar and will be back for its 31st iteration this year between the 28th September and the 1st October.
Last year's Monaco Yacht Show comprised of a revamped format which was a barnstorming success. Aimed at being more client-centric than ever before, the show implemented a badge system which enabled visitors to move through the show at a smoother pace as they took in the breath-taking fleet on display. This year the show will enact the same system, placing a focus on buyers who can seize the opportunity to find the right builder for their yachting needs.
The star-studded guests of the show include the world's largest and most exciting superyachts, the biggest builders in the industry, as well as renowned designers, naval architects and refit yards. Superyachts.com will as usual be conducting interviews with leading industry figureheads in our established Breaking News Centre, discussing some of the most topical themes of the year, from new launches to concepts.
Port Hercule will play host to a range of more than 120 superyachts, as well as numerous tenders and toys. The event will also see the presentation of the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show Awards. The principality of Monaco is any yacht enthusiast’s paradise at the best of times, but the famous yacht show in particular is the pièce de résistance in the 2022 calendar that is certainly not to be missed.
