Lil Yachty Hits Back At 'Bullies' After Showing Off Results Of Quitting Lean
Lil Yachty has issued a direct message to those who are judging his new appearance after kicking his lean habit.
Lil Boat took to Instagram on Monday (September 11) to show off his new look, flaunting his newfound buzz cut (which was hidden under a cap) and slimmed-down physique in a series of photos.
“i chopped da top , fukk it,” he wrote in the caption, referencing him chopping his signature braids off.
While many of his followers applauded his “glowing” complexion and “good genes” in the comments section, it appears Yachty also encountered his fair share of trolls — and took to Twitter hours later to fire back.
“i did not stop drinkin lean for n-ggas to bully me and tell me i look like i have leukemia,” he tweeted.

Aside from putting haters in their place, the “Poland” rapper has been dishing on his rap buddy Drake lately and explained why it’s been a minute since the 6 God has made the kind of heartfelt “love song” he was once known for.
“I asked him a while ago, I said something like, ‘Man, why don’t you make songs like you used to?’” he said on his A Safe Place podcast earlier this month. “I was like, ‘Why don’t you make love songs, like those songs that makes people miss they ex and shit?’
“I think he explained to me how it’s hard for him to make music about things he isn’t dealing with or experiencing, which opened an eye for me because me on the other hand, as a songwriter, I can just go make some shit up.”
He continued: “I can go create a scenario, I can create a story, I can make a song about a girl I never met. I can make a love song about a relationship I’ve never been in.

“[But] for him, everything is real. Everything is pulled from something. Maybe he hasn’t been in love in a while to make love, deep love music or whatever the case may be.
“So it’s all real experiences for him. What it is, is just what’s he’s going through in the time, which I respect a lot because it’s like journaling at that point.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Lil Yachty shared a few tidbits about Drizzy’s forthcoming album, For All the Dogs , which he said has “some of the best Drake verses I’ve ever heard.”
“It sounds very current,” Yachty shared. “It’s interesting. It’s coming together a lot better than I thought. I just had a talk with him a couple of days ago in Vancouver and was like, ‘Man, I was a little worried.’

Lil Yachty Explains Why He Ditched His Signature Red Braids
Once upon a time, Lil Yachty proved to be a branding expert, infiltrating the world of hip-hop with his signature red braids and becoming an easy costume for kids to recreate on Halloween. Still, he is one of the most recognizable characters in rap and tonight, he will continue his path with his new album Lil Boat 3 .
Set to feature Drake , DaBaby , Tyler, The Creator , A$AP Rocky, Tierra Whack, and more, Lil Yachty will close out the trilogy before moving onto new avenues. Already, he has taken a different route with his hair, no longer sporting the colorful beaded braids that we once loved him for. In a new feature with Highsnobiety, the rapper explained his decision and said it's not as deep as people think.
Some of Lil Boat's fans theorized that the change in hair colors symbolized a musical switch for the critically-acclaimed superstar but, according to him, that's simply not the case.
"Honestly, it was hard to maintain," said the bubbly personality. "The bleach was literally killing my hair. My hair was just dying. It's growing now. That's all. It's just hair. I just kept it red because I loved it. But it kept falling out. It never would grow."
Now that he has black hair, some of Yachty's fans assumed that he would be making darker music. Again, that couldn't be further from the truth.
"I think sometimes people just assume things are a lot more complex. In my world, it's just not that deep, bro," he explained. "It's just music. It's all fun to me. There's no strategy behind it, like, 'oh, his hair was red, it's black now. [He's] making evil rap music.' It's not like that."
Lil Yachty previously released the music video for " Split/Whole Time " this week, which serves as the official follow-up to "Oprah's Bank Account" with Drake and DaBaby.
