Owner Slips Available For Resale

All slips in marina are either privately owned or owned by the Marco Island Marina Association. Negotiate purchases directly through the people listed with each slip. The owners of the 120 slips comprise the Marco Island Marina Association (MIMA).

Decide what is best for YOU: N/S side, port/starboard tie up, bow/stern in, closer to marina exit or parking lot, etc. Tie ups listed below reflect stern in (backing in). Note water depths. A,B and N side of C have 8-10’ of water from original dredging. Closer to exit, the deeper the water – best for sailboats.

These are fee-simple purchases – you own the slip; receive a deed. You are buying the land under the water – not the dock. The marina docks are maintained via MIMA maintenance fees.

Mima Quarterly Maintenance Fees

When one buys a slip, the owner becomes a member of the 120-slip owners’ organization known as Marco Island Marina Association (MIMA).

Mima Quarterly Maintenance Fees (Pro-rated By Dock Foot, Billed Quarterly)

  • 40’ Quarterly (South Side of D Dock) $703.95
  • 45’ Quarterly (North Side of D Dock, all of C Dock and South Side of B Dock) 791.88
  • 50’ Quarterly (North Side of B and South Side of A) $879.91
  • 85’ Quarterly (E1-E3) $1,495.83
  • 99.64’ Quarterly (D22) $1,753.49
  • 109.14’ Quarterly (C55) $1,920.67
  • 109.50’ Quarterly (B88) $1,927.00
  • 110’ Quarterly (A120 and A121) $1,935.78

Maintenance Fees Cover

  • Dock Maintenance – Coverage for repairs, replacements and liability on docks
  • Dockmaster & Staff
  • Operating Costs
  • Maintenance for facility
  • Portion of Maintenance of Parking Lot & Grounds, which are owned by MIMA
  • Security cameras/web site

Monthly Additional Charges

Revenue For Slip-Owners In The Marina

Owned slips can be leased by owner on marina approved lease forms.

  • 40’ slips lease for $900.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage
  • 45’ slips lease for $1,100.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage
  • 50’ slips lease for $1,400.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage
  • 61’ slip leases for $1,760.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage
  • 85’ slips lease for $2,300.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage
  • 100’ slips lease for $3,000.00 month plus tax | Lessee picks up surcharge and electric usage

Transient Revenue

Join the transient pool – 67% of monthly transient revenue is divided (by dock footage) by # of slips in the transient pool in the slip for a calendar month. Your slip can be in the transient pool if you do not have your boat or a lessee in the slip. Contact Nancy in the Dockmaster’s Office if you are interested.

Transients may apply for a temporary membership card to use the MIYC clubhouse restaurant & lounge on a limited basis while in the marina. The Marco Island Yacht Club is separate from the Marco Island Marina Association. The clubhouse is a private club that welcomes new members. Advantages for boaters include reciprocal agreements with other yacht clubs and access to their restaurant and lounge areas. For more membership information and a tour of the clubhouse, phone the Membership Director at 239-394-0199.

What are the Cheapest Yacht Clubs?

The cheapest yacht clubs charge just under $1,000 per year for membership. While this does give you access to different types of experiences, you may be disappointed by the overall amenities.

Some yacht clubs are known for their extravagant country club styles that help you to embrace a particular lifestyle. They include Olympic-sized swimming pools, state-of-the-art tennis courts, and fine dining.

Everything has a beautiful waterfront view. It can feel like you are in the middle of an idyllic paradise without ever even having to leave the shore. If this is what you can gain from the most expensive yacht clubs, you should set your expectations much lower for the cheaper yacht clubs.

The cheaper yacht clubs lack the community aspect of these exclusive options. They feature dry slips and the occasional party, but not much more.

Some of them may have the feel of a county park with some picnic benches, outdoor grills, and a moderately sized swimming pool. Expect a much more casual atmosphere when you choose to go with a cheaper yacht club.

It is even possible that they are simply “paper yacht clubs” that do not even maintain a physical building of their own.

How Much Do the Most Expensive Yacht Clubs Cost to Join?

The most expensive yacht clubs can vary a great deal in price. Most of them will cost between $3,000 and $4,000 per year. However, you can certainly find more exclusive clubs that will cost above and beyond this.

Keep in mind that these more expensive clubs generally are not open to the public. They are offered by invitation only and you must have a member sponsor you to be considered for entrance.

When you are paying for a more expensive yacht club, you should make sure that you are really going to get your money’s worth. These expensive clubs promote a certain type of elegant lifestyle.

Make sure that you are planning to take advantage of all the amenities available from one of these clubs before you sink too much money into the membership fees. The social aspect of these expensive yacht clubs is extremely important.

If you plan to simply rent a boat from time to time, you might be able to go with a cheaper yacht club.

What Is Generally Included in the Membership Fee for Yacht Clubs?

Have you been wondering why you should join a yacht club? Many potential members want to know what they can expect from their membership fees before they commit to a year-long contract. There are many advantages to signing up for a membership with a well-known yacht club.

Amenities and Activities

First and foremost, you get access to activities and cruises planned by board members. These might be various sailing activities, dinners, get-togethers, tennis matches, or other events that take up a lazy Sunday afternoon.

You also gain access to any amenities that surround the yacht club’s marina. For many programs, this means a fitness center, pool, and tennis courts. Several locations also offer fine dining, meeting rooms, and more.

It is like a private oasis where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the regular world. Time moves slowly when you’re enjoying the amenities here.

Many yacht clubs have programs that introduce children (and adults!) to sailing. Take classes to learn more about improving your technique, sailing safety, and other important aspects of life on the open water.

Access to the Fleet

The main reason why most people join yacht clubs is to be able to rent out boats instead of purchasing their own. Joining a yacht club may give you access to an entire fleet of yachts that can be reserved for a day or weeks at a time. Some yacht clubs allow you to rent boats for up to ten days at a time.

Others do not allow you to rent out ships. They are primarily geared toward individuals who already own a yacht or will own a yacht in the future. Make sure you know the difference in advance.

Are There any Additional Costs Besides the Membership Fees?

Unfortunately, the membership fees are not the only cost associated with joining a yacht club. Most of the clubs in the United States also have a one-time initial fee that tends to cost thousands of dollars. Many will range from $1,500 to $5,000 depending on the location and the exclusivity of the yacht club.

This one-time fee should be the only additional money you pay except for fuel. Most yacht clubs do not cover the cost of the fuel used in the ship during your rental if renting is an option. Be prepared for what this could cost you.

If you cause damage to the ship, you can also expect some out-of-pocket costs. Insurance should cover the damage, but you will likely be asked to cover the cost of the deductible.

Be sure to inquire about how much you may be on the hook for before you sign up for any particular yacht club. Accidents can happen, even to the most experienced sailors. Make sure that you can afford the mishap in advance.

Is a Yacht Club Membership Right for You?

Understanding what the real cost of a yacht club membership is can be the first step toward determining if this is right for you. Many people love the luxuries available through the more expensive yacht clubs, but they may not be able to afford it. Consider what is most important in a club to you before deciding to sign on the dotted line for an annual membership.

A new vision: Major renovation planned for Marco Island Yacht Club

marco island yacht club membership cost

The Marco Island Yacht Club recently announced a “transformative” renovation project that will “enhance the club’s facilities, creating a beautiful, updated space for dining, socializing, and fostering camaraderie among members and guests.”

“This renovation is more than a facelift,” said Board of Directors Chair Dave Everitt. “It’s a major revitalization that will not only refresh our look but will completely modernize the kitchens, add a spectacular upstairs bar, establish an inviting, new Members Lounge, provide improved office facilities for our dedicated staff, and maximize space efficiency and traffic flow.”

The Marco Island Yacht Club, which was recently recognized as “The Best of the Best” by the Community’s Choice Awards of Naples, will build new office space above the current port cohere at the Club’s entrance, freeing up existing office space for reconfiguration into additional member areas and better traffic flows. Everitt cited the club’s commitment to continually elevate member experience and ensure that the Club remains at the forefront of world-class yachting and social venues.

Key highlights of the project include …

Stylish new decor: The clubhouse will feature a fresh, modern decor that reflects both timeless yachting elegance and contemporary esthetics, creating an inviting setting for all.

State-of-the-art kitchens: The kitchens will undergo a complete overhaul, bringing them up to the highest modern standards to ensure exceptional dining experiences.

Additional bar: A new bar area will be added, providing more options for members and guests to relax and enjoy their time at the club.

Members lounge: A brand new members lounge will be established, offering a comfortable and inviting space for socializing and relaxation.

Enhanced office space: Improved office facilities will support the efficient operation of the Club and provide better service to members.

Efficient space utilization: The renovation will optimize the layout of the clubhouse, making it more functional and accessible for members, guests and staff, and increasing overall dining capacity.

Demolition work for the project is set to begin in November. During the renovation period, temporary facilities will be erected in the club’s parking lot to accommodate casual dining and member events, ensuring that members can continue to enjoy the Club’s offerings without interruption.

General Manager Carrie Brooks expressed excitement about the upcoming renovation, stating, “With this investment in the future of our Club, we will preserve the traditions that have made Marco Island Yacht Club great while opening a new chapter in our history as a premier destination for dining, socializing and yachting on Florida’s Gulf Coast.”

The architect is MHK Architecture of Naples and the general contractor is D Garret Construction also of Naples. In addition, the Club has hired Freestyle Interiors to advise on interior design.
