Clad throughout in warm hues of American walnut, the signature softly curved cabinetry and classic styling of her interior - which had a comprehensive refit in 2018 under the expert eye of Italian design studio Zuccon – make her the perfect choice for a mixed family group.

Built in 2004 to suit a discerning clientele, Champagne Seas boasts a spacious main salon furnished with contemporary white leather sofas and armchairs which leads into an open plan dining area forward, with a glass dining table and seating for 10 guests – ideal for intimate late night suppers or formal dinner parties. There is also a bar.

Large windows invite the light to flood in and the atmosphere is fresh and airy. A wide screen TV and cutting edge entertainment system will keep your group happily occupied on movie or party nights.

Sleeping 12 guests across five charming cabins – again with bespoke walnut cabinetry throughout – Champagne Seas accommodation has been designed as a child-friendly set up with versatility at its heart. Indeed, one of the cabins can easily convert to a treatment room for massage, beauty and skincare therapies.

The full-beam master suite is chic and understated, with a compact size work desk, TV, daybed style sofa and stylish sloping feature ceiling, making it feel cosy and utterly away from it all. Four further cabins - two doubles and two twins with pullman berths – are similarly chic and all are ensuite, kitted out with Aqua di Parma toiletries.

Outside, the exterior decks more than match the standard set inside – Champagne Seas truly punches above her weight for a boat of her size. The upper deck has been designed to flow freely as the yacht’s principle entertaining area, with a bar, a stylish al fresco dining area, sofa lounge and sun pads all in muted neutrals, creating a state of the art relaxation zone which will soon become your favourite spot in which to socialise, soak up the views and enjoy Champagne Seas’ legendary hospitality on board.

Further casual outdoor dining and a second bar is available on the flybridge deck. And the most magnificent views can be enjoyed forward on the main deck, perhaps with a signature Champagne cocktail in hand.

It goes without saying that the friendly and highly experienced crew of seven will be on hand to ensure that your trip provides the ultimate in five star service and enjoyment. In the same way, the chef will cater to every tastebud, rustling up a delectable array of stunning menus to tempt you.

Head to the generous sized swim platform for a fabulous choice of high tech and traditional water toys – a Seadoo three-seater, four SUPs, water skis, wakeboard, wake foil, e-foil, fly board, inflatables, fishing gear, snorkelling and diving equipment, a dive compressor, Viper tender and two electric scooters.

The yacht’s piece de resistance however is her incredible speed – a maximum of 23 knots with an impressive cruising speed of 21 knots, making Champagne Seas the obvious choice for covering a wide-ranging variety of destinations speedily and efficiently. Powered by twin MTU engines, she also features at-anchor stabilizers, providing enhanced comfort levels while on board.

Her summer cruising grounds include the East Mediterranean and Greece, while her winter season is spent exploring the Caribbean, US and British Virgin Islands, the Leeward and Windward Islands.

“The original intention was to make Kismet the most luxurious charter boat on the water,” Captain Dave Andrews told Robb Report . Nearly 10 years since the yacht was launched, Khan is ready to go bigger. His third custom-built Lürssen weighs 5,500 tons—almost double Kismet ’s weight—and is scheduled to be delivered in November. Kismet is listed for sale with Cecil Wright for a cool $160 million and is currently the largest yacht for sale on the market.

A Champagne-colored chandelier by Crystal Caviar is the most obvious feature of his brief to the designers. The statement light hangs in the central lobby next to a sweeping black-and-gold Art Deco staircase, suspended, of course, over a grand piano. There is a glass elevator in the lobby with access to all decks. The overall feel of the yacht is an ornate gentleman’s club with lavish marble, etched glass flooring, gold-leaf finishes, and backlit onyx.

“We either anchor in Canary Wharf or go to the warship mooring downstream of Tower Bridge as the boss likes the view of the bridge,” says Andrews.

The sports theme continues with two full-height video walls—used to display images of Khan’s football players when hosting business events—that flank the central staircase leading into the double-height main salon and continue across the floor, walls, and ceiling. In the sky lounge, a large sports bar opens out across the bridge deck aft for hosting large groups of people. When the party keeps going, it converts into a disco with a built-in sound system.

On the foredeck is a touch-and-go helipad, though it’s never used. Instead, regular games of basketball are played with temporary netting erected to catch any balls that bounce out of court. “We always have a deckhand standing by on a Waverunner,” says Andrews.

The foredeck serves as the owner’s private deck with a Jacuzzi and is also used for yoga. It leads directly into the master suite with twin en suites, a private office, oval skylight, and one of three bioethanol fireplaces. The other two are in the main salon. When lit, they carry a cooler flame than a naked fire. There is also a foredeck fire pit for keeping guests warm on colder nights, which converts into a cocktail table.

Kismet has seven additional guest suites, sleeping 16 guests in total. This includes two VIPs and a sea cabin on the lower deck amidships for guests who suffer from seasickness. There are also crew quarters for 26.

“The spa was mandated by the owners to be a place they can just chill out in,” says Andrews. It has a hammam, a spa bath, a cold plunge pool, a steam shower and a massage room with an onboard spa therapist. Opening shell doors in the gym allow for workouts by the water’s edge. There is also a separate hair and beauty salon, with a dedicated onboard hairdresser.

In the garage is a full chest of water toys and four tenders. Up top, the sun deck is built for lounging, with a pool and hot tub, sofas, sunpads, and outdoor dining under the hard top.

A crow’s nest platform is dedicated to viewing the ocean or sunning in privacy. It just goes to show that even on a vast, 312-foot yacht, cozy, intimate spaces rule the roost.

Champagne Supernovas on the High Seas: Yachting for a New Generation

Tempted by a crystal-ball glance at the future of yacht design and charters? It’s safe to say a new generation of yacht buyers, with distinctly different priorities and pastimes, is forcing the industry to freshen its approach.

Nicholas Dean, Managing Partner of Ocean Independence, a leading luxury yacht charter and brokerage firm, has seen all designers–whether naval architects or yacht exterior and interior designers–looking to push the envelope with a range of concepts, of which just a few will actually get built. “Most of the developmental concept ideas will produce an area of design that works, but to see it through to fruition involves a number of evolving stages,” Dean explains in detail to Jetset . “Two years ago, when working for a trusted client, I created a specific concept book, where the client selected parts from a number of ideas which culminated in the final yacht design. This selection and collaboration process works very well, in order to put a project together that matches a specific client as without their input it is virtually impossible to create options. There are so many aspects to how a concept evolves, this evolution process is how it happens.”

For consumers in this growing segment, a decadent scale and unparalleled sense of space are the essential ingredients motivating commissions and purchases, and high design over ostentatious glamor is the yachting culture in which they see themselves thriving. Here’s a Jetset guide to a some of the industry’s latest offerings and a few recommendations for that perfect nautical destination.

Project Sonata is a rule-defying 351-foot sailing yacht that would feel like a family’s own private cruising luxury liner. When built, Sonata would be a first for sailing superyachts. Her super high-tech sails would lead to more of a motor yacht experience. Groundbreaking versatility will be the absolute hook for clientele that want the thrill of a sailing yacht with the space and luxury of a motor yacht. Project Sonata’s primary objective? To create a buildable, eco-friendly superyacht of tomorrow, a more sustainable, smarter yacht design that seamlessly incorporates naval architecture into the design. Strong, confident lines merge with sleek surface transitions. The design prioritizes and revolves around the experience of the craft’s guests.

For catamaran fans, BlackCat 50 is for sale through Ocean Independence. An entirely new superyacht platform, setting the platinum standard in large cruising catamarans, this design is aimed at an owner who wants to achieve the ultimate. According to Ocean Independence, the custom beauty will be the fastest sailing superyacht and the largest carbon fiber catamaran ever built, with a predicted top speed of 30+ knots. The concept has been created by revered sailor Mitch Booth and designed by Malcolm McKeon. BlackCat 50 will be constructed in carbon by Baltic Yachts, with a Rig & Sails package developed by North Sails and Southern Spars. A marvel of single deck living, the yacht features 620m² of open exterior areas and 320m² of interior space, a walkthrough living experience on a scale never before seen on the high seas. Interiors by M2 Atelier are in the style of an ultra-sleek New York loft, with glass wrapped overheads adding space and light. Fully engineered, the project is ready to begin building upon signing.

Numarine’s new stunning flagship, the 37XP model, is a study in how to strike an ideal balance between strength and elegance. At 37 meters, the superyacht is the largest Numarine yacht ever built. Unveiled for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, it features a stylish decor from the sophisticated Hot Lab studio. This is the second auspicious Numarine project with the Milan-based studio. Gray, white, beige and brown tones make for a serene contemporary vibe. An abundance of natural light fills up the space through dramatic windows – they are the key feature for the entire XP Series range. The layout invites a residential approach to prestige decorating; designers relished in statement freestanding furniture from the likes of Fendi Casa, Promemoria, and Giorgetti.

A notable option on the frontier of obscenely spacious yacht schematics, Olokun confirms the dynamic design of Tankoa’s S501 platform. The series, inaugurated with Vertige and quickly followed by her hybrid sister, Bintador , remains the shipyard’s bestseller that focuses on striving for flawless execution. High up on the most recent owner’s wish list was a hammam lounge and relaxation area as close as possible to the ocean, which led to the challenge of maximizing the beach club space within the 499GT volume of the 50-meter yacht. The owner further detailed the main salon to be as large as possible, so the dining room was moved to the upper deck, where there are two dining tables, one interior and one on the alfresco aft deck.

Tankoa’s 50-meter platform has been progressively fine-tuned with each new launch, both technically and aesthetically. Olokun has a semi-displacement hull with conventional diesel propulsion for a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. At an economical 11 knots she has an oceanic range of 4,500 nautical miles. Currently Tankoa is building 3 units of the same series, the S501. Two are already sold and ready to be launched in 2022 and one on speculation.

Olokun’s exterior delivers a rigorous stylistic coherence with a clean, contemporary look. It has also maintained signature features like fold-down terraces in the master stateroom on the forward main deck, a large sundeck with bar and hot-tub and a spacious beach club with spa in the transom. Another example of client customization is the elegant black hull and metallic gray superstructure. Dark hulls easily overheat in the sunshine, so to meet the owner’s request and achieve optimal results, Tankoa specified special Awlgrip coatings that reduce the temperature of the metal hull by as much as 10°C.

Olokun’s interior by Casa Dio Miami/London – a US-based studio with experience in the residential, aviation and marine sectors – offers clean lines inspired by Japanese design. Best of all? Many interior fabrics feature prestigious Italian brand Loro Piana. Casa Dio focused on developing the interior and furniture design, based specifically on the owner’s tastes, on a beautifully balanced interplay of brushed oak in three different shades: natural oak, Tokyo Black and Bitter Gray. The three colors are alternated for the vertical trims and ceilings, a motif that runs harmoniously across all decks. It also appears in the cabins where it creates a delicious mix with jute and wool carpeting by Loro Piana.

Now that we’ve caught up on the yachting world’s ongoing obsession with going big or going home, we’re all dressed up but where to go? The major news in boating destinations is that, for the first time in history, leisure travelers can now explore Costa Rica by superyacht. Long inaccessible by larger superyachts, the Central American coastline and idyllic islands will now be open to international superyacht charters. Leading luxury yacht firm IYC is poised to assist its clients with adventurous itineraries to enjoy the diverse region in the most celebratory fashion.

Once famous for shipbuilding heritage and prowess, the islands welcome large numbers of visiting yachts keen to explore the stunning cruising grounds.

Departing from Marsh Harbor, sail from the Southern Sea of Abaco; anchor up in Little Harbor Bay or the Bight of Old Robinson Bay. The next morning visit Robinson’s Creek to explore the mangroves and blue holes, in the company of stingrays, mangroves, and tropical fish. Snorkel in O’Neil creek and swim with three different varieties of endangered sea turtles. When asked about his favorite scuba and yachting destinations for vacations with family and friends, Nicholas Dean responds candidly, “The best scuba diving spots for us would be in Belize where we have numerous vessels for charter. But the cruising area I like the best is the Ionian. I have enjoyed some fantastic sailing conditions here amongst beautiful scenery. Just the landscapes, the locals, the atmosphere – you really can’t beat it!”

The 5th edition of the International exhibition of yachts and boats –  Moscow Boat Show , held from March 20 to 25, 2012 will be hosted by the first pavilion of Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. This popular show is dedicated not only to the specialists of the market segment and professional sportsmen but also to those who consider sailing sport to be their hobby and well cherished dream.

The project is the result of joint efforts of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and the National Marine Industry Association. The event is supported by Aston Martin Moscow, Burevestnik Group logistics department and the Yachting specialized magazine. Moscow Boat Show is the largest project in Russia presenting all the best in the world of yachting.

The exhibition annually shows high level of attendance and has already proved as significant and noteworthy event in the world of yachts and boats. Every year new exhibitors join the list of participants, genuine “sharks” of yachting business, the quantity of visitors considerably increases and the exposition becomes more sated and diverse.

The best companies professionally involved into yachting and small navigation business – 180 exhibitors from 17 regions of the Russian Federation and 15 countries traditionally presented the best and the newest in the world of yachting at 2011 edition: from design and facilitation of vessels and up to cruising and training courses for beginning skippers. In 2011 the overall exhibit space comprised 18 000 sq m. More than 25 000 visitors came to the show.

This year the exposition space will increase up to 30 000 sq m and will be accommodated in 4 exhibition halls. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development. The organizers will try to arrange a genuine fiesta of water on land!

Quite a number of foreign exhibitors will participate in the show. Foreign companies show increasing interest to yachting business in Russia.

Moscow Boat Show provides the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships.
