Ordered an afternoon tea mid afternoon which was huge. Unfortunately my partner was unable to eat too much which left mem to do most of the eating. Struggled to get through some scrummy cakes and the most delicious scones I have had in a long time. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in here for an early evening drink on a Saturday. Much needed heaters made it possible to sit outside. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Noted a a great variety of what looked like lovely food around us and will definitely go for a meal or snack next time we are in Jersey.

Staying at Royal Yacht for weekend break and ate at the Zephyr, excellent food and service. Good choice of food and wine. Do a range of meals to share from platters to rack of lamb as well as extensive menue.

We were staying at the Royal Yacht so had lunch here after checking in. Extensive choice of almost everything. Seafood, meat, pasta, pizza the lot. The food was of good quality and served by very good and well trained staff. You could eat here on a reasonable budget too.

“Lively Place at The Royal Yacht” Review of Cafe Zephyr

Thai Prawn Curry

This is always a buzzing lively place day or night. We stayed at The Yacht and although we didn't eat here we did have several drinks and met friends in the Zephyr so I thought I would review. With seating inside and out and in a prime location in Liberation Square it's always busy so not the place for a quiet intimate drink / meal but we always found the service good. It's very popular and has a good mix of people in both day & night and we enjoyed soaking up the lively atmosphere.

Had a quick lunch here - food ok - nothing special As a bar at the weekend the place is great - spent Saturday evening having drinks and dancing in the club behind the bar. Lovely lively atmosphere and friendly staff.

Ordered the Zephyr Club sandwich with salad and fries. My companion ordered the same. It was like a grotesque burger and not what I usually consider a club sandwich . We had a fair wait until it was served and the chicken within it was cooked to death and was extremely tough and slightly burnt for both of us. My guest and I were both disappointed and agreed it was poor value and the volume of bread was overdone. Not good value. The service was just OK.

service was good with smiling faces, food was lovely and plenty of it. Very busy place sent in a nice location. Only a small moan, inside restaurant its quite noisy. Overall would defiantly visit again next time in jersey.

On a recent business trip our party happened upon this real nice restaurant. We were seated outside which made it even better because the weather was good and suddenly work was out and it felt like a holiday meal not work. I had the most tasty bowl of chili mussels fresh and juicy and plenty of them. The atmosphere was great and service first class definitely a couples place as well as business. Would love to return.

This is one of the Royal Yacht restaurants at the front of the hotel. We booked this for a Friday nite bout 6.30pm. The place was heaving n quite noisy making it a little difficult to chat as the bar n restaurant r quite open. The food was freshly prepared n very tasty but quite expensive. Cocktails just under a tenner each. Did ask for no chorizo on the chicken club Sandwich but this got lost in translation probably because of the noisy atmosphere. If ur looking for a quiet meal with the ability to talk visit the restaurant upstairs, Sirocco but b warned it's more expensive. The hotel itself has a great location n the staff r very helpful n pleasant. Can b noisy on a Friday n Saturday nite due to the free nite club n bar downstairs. However we wud stay again. More

Stayed on a business visit. The spa is fantastic and amazing after a long day. What makes it 5 star was I left some items in my room and these were posted to me and arrived a day after me leaving. Excellent service.

Just returned from 3 nights at the ROyal Yacht. Fantastic location for everything in St. Helier, including bars, restaurants, trains, buses and taxis. One warning is, beware the opening and closing time of bars and restaurants, especially Sundays. That wasn’t an issue at the RYC - the bar was open long enough for us, and wasn’t expensive. Breakfast was very good, as were the rooms. We will return soon.

We spent 2 nights here as part of a group and my husband and I were thrilled to discover that we had a balcony overlooking St Helier! Our room was big, as was the bathroom, which had its own tv. The staff were friendly and there were lots if places to eat and drink. We also enjoyed the spa. However, there was a party and disco both nights, Friday and Saturday, and we were right above it on the 2nd floor! On the Saturday, it was so loud we could feel the bass through the bed! Gemma, the assistant manager, tried to help, was very apologetic and took 50% off all of our bills. So if you do stay here, and want a quiet night, make sure you ask for a room higher up!

We sat at the front of the bar?restaurant that leads onto the square We decided to have our meal here as we had spent quite a lot of money on drinks . We both ordered GF curry and waited . Whilst we where waiting people where waiting to be seated and where literally standing over us. I felt very claustrophobic . When the food arrived it consitsted of a bowl of very dry beef and lots of it . Rice and some crackers. I have never had a curry like this. There was no curry flavour and no sauce and it was just huge bowl of beef. I find the restaurant very over priced . The staff are very brisk which is fine ,but need to be more pleasing to to their customers .Jersey has a lot of very good places to eat and I and my friends will be going else where in future .As I cannot find a place to review the restaurant I have put this into the hotel section.

We stayed at the Royal Yacht Hotel for 5 nights in a platinum room and would recommend this hotel. The staff were all very friendly, the room was modern and well equipped with a balcony overlooking the square below, perfect for watching the world go by. Although the outside eating area below our room was fairly noisy in the evenings, the soundproofing with the patio doors shut was very good and our sleep was undisturbed. Only slight complaint was the air conditioning in our room was not very effective so the room was quite warm at night. We used both restaurants in the hotel and had excellent meals in each, and there are plenty of other good restaurants very close by, I would recommend the Air Mex and the Unawatuna which are almost next door. We left our car in Pier Street car park which is within easy walking distance, using the PayByPhone app which made life easy. The hotel is close to the ferry terminal if using this.

Radiators fail once more: Moscow suburbs residents appeal to Putin

R esidents across the Moscow suburbs are besieged by a heating problem, for which they plead direct intervention from President Vladimir Putin. These individuals have yet to experience any semblance of home heating since winter started due to a dwindling supply of heating oil. The issue, one largely avoided by local authority communication, has left residents desperate to the point of directly appealing to the president.

While plots have been uncovered to disrupt Ukraine's infrastructure for a second consecutive winter, thus depriving civilians of heating, it seems Russians are now mired in their crisis. Irony drips from the fact that those under Putin's leadership are looking to cause turmoil in Ukraine, yet at home, they face a similar predicament.

Many dwellings within the Moscow agglomeration are presently without heat. The capital's residents are desperate, directly appealing to President Putin due to a perceived lack of alternate avenues for assistance. The absence of suitable heating functionality since winter commenced pushes them towards desperation with no relief in sight.

This seems improbable, but in Russia, it appears that anything can happen.

It remains uncertain if Vladimir Putin is actively addressing the heating crisis. Some experts suggest that Russia's heating oil reserves are depleting, which negatively affects residents' quality of life. Plagued by cold radiators and plummeting winter temperatures, these citizens have directly addressed their pleas to their head of state.

This heating crisis is happening in Elektrostal, a town approximately 71 miles from Moscow.

Ironically, Russia has constantly aimed to destroy the Ukrainian infrastructure since war broke out, deliberately trying to leave Ukrainians without heating during the harsh winters, aiming to break their strong will. It's an irony they now struggle with a domestic heating crisis, particularly near Moscow, their largest and most pivotal city.

Desperate individuals are reaching out to Vladimir Putin. They question his knowledge of the heating infrastructure conditions in the Moscow suburbs and the dire situations residents face there. Sundown brings no relief from the harsh Russian winter and without heating, their houses turn cold. With elections nearing, more and more residents find themselves reaching out directly to their president.

"Since winter's start, we've been without heating. This has been a yearly occurrence for the past three years. Despite paying for heating, we don't have enough. We implore you, help us!" - these are the desperate pleas from the heavily dressed populace dealing with the Russian winter conditions.

Experts attribute the heating oil shortage to international sanctions and surging demands for diesel fuel, pivotal to military operations. Russia now grapples with a dearth of raw materials essential for boiler and heating plant operation. As supplies dwindle, houses grow cold with little hope of any immediate corrective intervention.

It would be adequate if the war ceased, residents were prioritized, and attention accorded to their welfare.
