On board the 58-knot Tecnomar for Lamborghini 'supercar of the sea'

BOAT meets a gold-hulled Lamborghini speedster that combines supercar muscle with surprisingly liveable spaces
What I expect to hear is the deep thunderclap growl of a Lamborghini supercar. But what emerges from the 20-metre Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is a much more elegant and refined sound. It is a gentle purr – although it still offers the familiar bone-tickling thrill of hearing a powerful machine come to life.
- Highways to the high seas: The coolest yachts by car designers
As I learn at The Italian Sea Group headquarters in Marina di Carrara, there are in fact many recognisable supercar-esque elements that the collaborative team from Lamborghini and Tecnomar (one of the group’s brands) thought to add to the design. The exterior look – inspired by the £2.5 million limited-edition Sián FKP 37 hybrid car – comes with sharp edges, sculptured lines and geometric patterns that convey Lamborghini’s distinctive style. As I stand in the presence of both the car and the yacht, they look like the ultimate partners in crime.
- CentrostileDesign presents fully-electric, supercar-inspired tender concept Future-E
After all, the Sián FKP 37 car was built to be a rule-breaker. Meaning “flash of lightning” in Italian, the Sián comes with an electric system that works in unison with a V12 engine that can deliver 785hp at 8,500rpm – the highest ever power output from a Lamborghini, triggering speeds of more than 350km/h. With this kind of muscle and a fine knowledge of weight-to-power ratios and aerodynamic surfaces, it’s no wonder Lamborghini relished the opportunity to pour their experience into a triumphant new yacht project. “It was an exciting challenge to design for the water,” says Mitja Borkert, head of design at Automobili Lamborghini. “We have the strongest design DNA in the automobile world, and here we have been able to transport the language of Lamborghini into the future. The feeling of being on board is a great emotion.”
He’s right – but the emotions are not, perhaps, the ones you might imagine. Having stepped on board, the initial impulse is to make oneself at home. That’s certainly true of the owner’s young child, who has already taken to leaving small footprints over the swish suede-look seats. Using the soft, durable Alcantara microfibre material means those on board needn’t worry about watermarks, spilled drinks and stains. “We worked hard on maintaining a strong focus on usability and liveability,” says Gian Marco Campanino, head of design at The Italian Sea Group, who is also on board. This perhaps explains why the yacht seems so well-suited not just to the young family who owns the first unit, but also to thrilling day trips and laid-back weekend cruises with guests.
- Interior revealed of first Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 speedboat following delivery
The soft material runs through the interior – even along the walls – chosen in a custom dark grey by the owner, with hand-stitched leather seats and the usual mod-cons hidden away neatly within the aft seating area. For those sitting on the sunpads or around the height-adjustable coffee table under the protective hardtop, the television rises up from the backrest at the push of a button, and the integrated galley station is useful for quick refreshment. Below deck, the dark and handsome accommodation comprises a spacious and comfortable master suite forward and a twin cabin joined by a shared en suite. This formation of rooms is what the owner chose to fit the family on board, but alternative layouts are available.
While crawling out of the marina there is the occasional rumble from the engines – a reminder that the best is yet to come. As we reach open water, it is time to open up the throttle. At this point I decide to hold on to one of the Italian leather handles for dear life – but it’s unnecessary. The early purr of the engines merely transforms into a louder whir and the drum of the waves against the bullet-shaped hull is barely felt at all. “The hull rides on a cushion of air at planing speeds,” Campanino explains as we gather speed. Later, he tells me more about how the GRP hull and carbon fibre superstructure keep the centre of gravity low and the weight down to 24 tonnes. “The hull is 18ft wide [5.4m], made from composite material with rear wings and a three-step drive. It has all been made to improve her performance.”
- The yachts owned by celebrities
The team behind the boat intended the driver to feel like a fighter pilot – and they seem to have pulled it off. I watch the captain confidently push the throttles further and soon we are feeling the full force of the 63 knot top speed. At this velocity, she needs to be fed 480 litres of fuel per hour, but when toned down to around 40 knots, her optimal cruising speed, she requires half that fuel.
Designed in the style of a car cockpit, the yacht’s helm completely integrates the navigation and control systems. The graphics and fonts on the screens here are the same as in the cars, Borkert says. “And it is all finished with Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin – even on the sports seats and the steering wheel,” he adds. Impressed, I point out that after our zig-zag route across the bay, barely two drops of seawater have splashed aboard. She really must’ve flown. After the ride, it is much easier to appreciate how the design, concept and engineering work together so well. And a fair few other Lamborghini fans seem to agree: although the yard will not confirm how many units have been sold, there are no build slots available until after 2022.
“We all know there is a strategic fit between super sports cars and fast superyachts,” says Stefano Rutigliano, Lamborghini’s strategy director. “At Lamborghini, we wanted to expand the brand and work with a yard with a good reputation, product range and financial solidity.” Well, everything seems to be going to plan. This time, the idea for a car and yacht crossover has amounted to something seriously special: the first Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht is turning heads, generating plenty of orders and giving builders like The Italian Sea Group brand new ambitions.

The First Lamborghini Yacht Has Arrived in the US
By Brett Berk
The first Lamborghini yacht has arrived in North America. In 2020, the Italian supercar manufacturer announced a partnership with Italian superboat manufacturer Tecnomar to produce a limited run of luxury yachts for the global marketplace. Now, the first of these finished boats in the US is waiting for its premiere customer at a dock in South Florida.
Dubbed Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 , its name carries a variety of different connotations: The boat is 63 feet long, it has a top speed of 63 knots (which translates to around 72 mph on land), and only 63 of them are being built. This number isn’t random though—it’s an easter egg of sorts, pointing to the year 1963, when Ferruccio Lamborghini founded his namesake car company. Each of the roughly five dozen yachts has a starting price of around $3.5 million—and this is before the inevitable optioning-up with custom colors, materials, trim, and other individuated flourishes. Delivered through Miami-based Prestige Marine , the dealership tells AD that more Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 s are on the way.
The yacht is fitted with a sleek design common to the luxury car brand.
Of course, it’s the boat’s signature Lamborghini design elements that truly stand out. Aboard the luxury vessel, you’ll find hexagonal patterns on the interior and exterior, Y-shaped headlamps from the marque’s Sián supercar, a jet-fighter-like cockpit, a pair of racing-inspired seats at the helm, and, of course, V-12 power. However, unlike any production Lamborghini supercar, the Techomar features two of these motors, each of which runs on diesel fuel, and produces around 2,000 horsepower.
Racing-inspired seats anchor the helm.
This is not the first foray into the nautical realm for Lamborghini. In 1968, five years after the founding of his eponymous car company, Ferruccio Lamborghini commissioned a wooden boat from famed Italian shipbuilder Riva and equipped it with a pair of 4.0-liter V-12 engines from his signature sports cars. Later, the marque produced an outrageously potent 7.2-liter V-12 marine engine for use in powerboats. In the 1980s and 1990s, this motor was occasionally shoehorned into the brand’s equally outrageous LM002 , an absurd super-SUV produced in limited numbers, which acted as the precursor to the brand’s current best-seller, the Urus SUV .
The Lamborghini-Tecnomar yacht joins other similar, limited edition, high-end boats produced by exclusive automakers, including Aston Martin , and Mercedes-Benz’s go-fast subsidiary, AMG . These ships are part of a larger initiative among luxury carmakers to create branded lifestyle experiences everywhere their customers may desire to be, including the creation of residential towers by the likes of Aston Martin , Bentley , Porsche , as well as homewares and furniture from Bugatti and a full line of fashion clothing and accessories from Ferrari.
The interiors offer plenty of space for entertaining.
Not to be forgotten within this context is the full line of Lamborghini Tractors , the first vehicle company founded by Ferruccio back in the immediate post–World War II era in Italy and still in production today. We’re quite certain there is not one large enough to tow this superyacht, but the cross-branding opportunity still seems irresistible.

Tecnomar For Lamborghini 63 Is Supercar-Inspired Yacht With 3,945 HP
Think of it as a lamborghini sian for the sea..
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is a yacht that brings the brand of the Bull to the waves. It's a very special machine, perhaps even more so than the Lambo Sian , which is the current pinnacle from the Bologna-based automaker.
Giuliano Daniele from Motor1.com's Italian edition could not have imagined that after recently testing the Sian that would also have the opportunity to climb aboard the Lamborghini 63 yacht, which also took inspiration from the new supercar. The boat came from the collaboration between Lamborghini and the shipyard The Italian Sea Group.
To celebrate the year in which Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company, the two brands have worked together to create a limited edition of 63 units, as suggested by the number contained in the name of the watercraft. This also references the length of this boat – 63 feet (20.42 meters). The width of the yacht is 17 feet 9 inches (5.4 meters). The weight is 52,911 pounds (24,000 kilograms). The idea behind the Lamborghini 63 is to create a luxury yacht with performance typical of more compact boats.
Inside, the shapes, materials, and even the instrumentation faithfully reproduce the components used in the construction of Lamborghini vehicles. This similarity is evident both on the deck and in the lower area. Lambo's Ad Personam personalization program is even handling configuring the space for Lamborghini 63 yacht buyers.
The performance also fits a Lamborghini for the sea because it's the fastest boat within the Tecnomar fleet. Power comes from two, MAN 24-liter twin-turbo diesel engines making a total of 3,945 horsepower (2,942 kilowatts). To feed them, the fuel tank holds 951 gallons (3,600 liters).
The yacht's top speed is 60 knots (69.05 miles per hour or 111.1 kilometers per hour), and the cruise speed is 40 knots (46 mph or 74 kph). The total range is 210 nautical miles (241.7 miles or 388.9 kilometers).
The yacht's hull has skids that deflect the flow of water for generating lift that raises the body out of the water. Steps on the underside also help create lift by guiding the detachment of the water flow at high speed and allow air under the hull to add more lift and decrease hydrodynamic resistance.
In order to optimize performance during the planing phase, there are adjustable flaps that allow to vary the trim of the boat. This adjusts the yacht's position with respect to the water.
The roof has larger dimensions than the structures that are usually used on boats of this type. The shape improves the craft's aerodynamics and provides shade for occupants.
The starting price of this Lamborghini yacht is just over €3 million ($3.55 million at current exchange rates). This isn't too much more than Lambo's €3 million asking price for the Sian .
If you could spend this amount of money to get a fancy like this, which of the two Lamborghinis would you choose?

A Look Inside Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63
In May 2020 the ultimate collaboration was formed between The Italian Sea Group and Lamborghini which led to the birth of the now famous “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63”.
With the Italian Sea group renowned for being one of the largest and best yachting groups internationally and Lamborghini as supercar legends, the addition to the Tecnomar fleet is a guaranteed head turner.
Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht interior
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht almost has the feel of a spaceship from the movie Tron rather than that of a luxury yacht.
The futuristic shapes and materials embody the feel of any other modern Lamborghini vehicle.
Entirely developed by The Italian Sea Group, the design inspiration was heavily influenced by the Lamborghini Siàn FKP 37 , a perfect blend of technology and comfort.
While using the same materials that are normally used in Lamborghini cars, the perfection and attention to detail are highly evident in this masterpiece.
Although it was mainly designed for quick day trips, the yacht is also ideal for weekend getaways as it has a spacious master suite and a twin guest cabin.
The rooms are stylish and comfortable and have perfectly maximized use of the 63-foot length.
The Italian Sea Group art director, Gian Marco stated that the biggest hurdle was maintaining the sleek low profile of a sports car while ensuring there was enough headroom for comfort inside however the final result has perfectly struck the balance between the two.
Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 specifications
Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is as the name suggests, 63 feet in length (20.42 meters), the length also is significant in that it is a tribute to the year that Lamborghini was founded – 1963.
The yacht has a width of 5.4 meters and weighs approximately 24,000 kilograms (24 tons).
Powered by MAN 24-liter twin-turbo engines, her diesel tanks can hold 3,600 liters of fuel and she can reach speeds up to 60 knots with a comfortable cruise speed of 40 knots.
With an impressive 3,945 horsepower, Tecnomar for Lamborghini is the fastest in the Tecnomar fleet with the ability to reach a range of 210 nautical miles.
Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht exterior
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63’s carbon fiber superstructure was designed to maintain a low center of gravity while minimizing the weight of the vessel to ensure optimal performance.
The hull has been designed to minimize vibration while comfortably cruising at 40 knots even in less-than-desirable weather conditions.
Her streamlined structure and futuristic modern design are sure to make for the center of attention out on the water.
Currently, the Tecnomar Lamborghini 63 is worth €3.1 million which is similar to its car counterpart.
To date, Lamborghini has been reluctant to say how many of the yachts have been sold, however, the model has been well marketed with the help of Connor McGregor who purchased one in May 2022 for his 34th birthday in Ibiza.

Take A Look Inside The First 3,945 HP Lamborghini Yacht
The yacht features supercar-inspired styling, two bedrooms and two V12 engines
by Michael Gauthier
The coolest Lamborghini doesn’t have wheels as the first Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 has been delivered to its wealthy owner.
Originally announced last summer, the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is a luxurious motoryacht that draws inspiration from the Sián FKP 37 .
The yacht’s styling was jointly developed by the two companies and it features a streamlined exterior with angular accents as well as distinctive bow lights that pay tribute to the Terzo Millennio concept . The model also features a “supersport silhouette” as well as a hard top inspired by Lamborghini’s roadsters as it “guarantees not only protection from the sun and wind, but also surprising aerodynamic performance.”

While the exterior is undeniably cool, the cabin is fit for a Bond villain. Starting with the automotive-inspired cockpit, there’s a dual screen digital instrument cluster with a carbon fiber surround. Boaters will also find a car-like steering wheel, a carbon fiber shelled captain’s seat and two start/stop buttons shared with Lamborghini sport cars.
Elsewhere, there’s a stylish bedroom with a skylight and multi-colored upholstery similar to what’s found in Lamborghini models. The bedroom also features two couches as well as a flat screen television.
The yacht also features a minimalist bathroom as well as a second bedroom with two individual beds. Furthermore, in typical Lamborghini fashion, there’s an Ad Personam program which enables customers to select their material and color choices.
The connection to the automaker extends beyond styling as the yacht utilizes carbon fiber and is powered by two V12 engines. The latter have a combined output of 3,945 hp (2,942 kW / 4,000 PS) and enable the model to hit a top speed of 60 knots (69 mph / 111 km/h). The yacht also has a range of approximately 210 nautical miles (389 km) at its 40 knot (47 mph / 75 km/h) cruising speed.

The New York International Auto Show is open to the public beginning today, and, like in years past, it includes exhibits from dozens of automakers, including Lucid, Lexus, Genesis, Infiniti, Acura, Rimac, Lamborghini, Lotus, Polestar, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce. The auto show isn’t quite what it used to be — only Jeep showed up from Stellantis, the fourth-largest automaker group in the world — but auto shows as a whole have suffered in recent years as manufacturers rethink their approach to marketing, especially by hosting their own events outside of auto shows.
Still, there is a lot to see at the Javits Center in New York City’s west side, and the event is open to the public through April 7. That includes new models and concepts, like the Genesis Neolun or the Kia K4 , but also, on the first level, a floor of what many might consider the most interesting stuff — scores of restorations, restomods, and classics from shops across the Northeast. There is also, this year, a Toyota Supra anniversary exhibit that features several pristine examples of the model, made famous in movies like The Fast and the Furious .
Below are our ten favorite cars we saw at the show this year, which range from the Lamborghini LM002 (“Rambo Lambo”) to a 1966 Buick Riviera to the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta.
Genesis X Gran Berlinetta
No one took more advantage of the stage presented by the NYIAS than Genesis. The luxury marque previewed its future SUVs with the beautiful (and surprisingly large) Neolun concept, but the prototype that really caught our eye was the X Gran Berlinetta. The low-slung sports car was there for the launch of the company’s new performance lineup, Magma, and everyone we saw pass it had to stop for a better look. This is one Genesis concept we’d be surprised to make it to production—though we’d love to be proven wrong—but that didn’t make it any less impressive.
Polestar may finally have an attractive vehicle on its hands. The Volvo-sibling’s third EV, the 4 , is by far its best-looking model yet. It’s a crossover, like the 3—although it’s definitely more of a coupé-style sedan than an SUV—but it has actual style. There’s nothing generic about this four-door, which has a sporty shape to go with its distinctive light package. The lack of a rear window is a little odd—there’s a camera so you can see what’s behind you—but it looks sharp.
Lotus Emira
It’s finally here. After three long years of delays due to emission standards the Emira made its stateside last month. Lotus’s latest in a long line of little sports cars is a looker, especially in the sparkling and yellow combo we saw at NYIAS. Just as important as its design, though, is the fact that it is also the British marque’s final model to feature an internal combustion engine.
Rimac Nevera
A car like the Rimac Nevera seems made up. It’s an EV but also a hypercar with a powertrain that produces a truly absurd 1,888 horses. It’s also real, and we even saw one at NYIAS. There aren’t may vehicles out there, even from its rarified class, that look so aggressive and flat-out fast. This is especially true of the $2.4 million example we saw, which was finished in Gunpowder Grey with copious amounts of exposed carbon fiber.
Lamborghini LM002
The Urus wasn’t the first Lamborghini SUV. That title belongs to the LM002, or, as it’s known to enthusiasts, the “Rambo Lambo.” The military-inspired off-roader predated the company current SUV by more than 30 years. It was also much rarer than the Urus, with only 300 rolling off the line between 1986 and 1993, one of which was on display on the convention floor. The red 4×4 wasn’t the rarest vehicle at the NYIAS, but it’s easily one of the coolest.
Ford Mustang GTD
Go to any car convention and you’re bound to come across your fair share of ridiculous builds. The one that struck us as the most over-the-top at this year’s show, was the Ford Mustang GTD. Just look at its sculpted carbon-fiber body kit that included what had to be the biggest wing on the show floor. Equally as outrageous is the street-legal speed machine’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 which pumps more than 800 horses.
Nissan GT-R
Nissan hasn’t officially pulled the plug on the R35-generation GT-R, but it’s clear its flagship sports car is nearing the end of the road. Seeing it on the floor was a reminder of why it will be so missed (even if the nameplate will likely live on as an EV ). The boxy coupé is a car that just looks cool and powerful. What more could you want from a sports car?
1985 Toyota Supra
One of the highlights of this year’s NYIAS is the collection of Toyota Supras in the southeast corner of the first floor. Every iteration of Toyota’s ultimate sports car was on display, but the one that really wowed us was this black 1985 model. The second-generation example has high-gloss finish that accentuates the vehicle’s clean lines and provides a proper showcase for the period-correct decal across the trunk lid. It may not be as famous as the A80 from the Fast and the Furious movies, but it also might be the ultimate version of the car.
1966 Buick Riviera
At the opposite end of the first floor from the Supra display was a collection of Robert Downey Jr.’s “Dream Cars.” The grouping included beautifully restored vehicles that were showcased on the actor’s Max series of the same name . Each of the matte-finished vehicles has its virtues, but we were most taken by the 1966 Buick Riviera. It’s a boat from a bygone era, but thanks to a future-proofed hybrid powertrain and dusty Apricot paint it feels fully revitalized. The car, along with the rest of the vehicles on display, is also up for grabs through a sweepstakes on the show’s website .
1973 Porsche 911 RS 2.7
No car would be complete without a jaw-dropping. There are plenty on display at this year’s NYIAS, including the new Macan EV , but our favorite was this 1973 911 RS 2.7 near the show entrance. The RS (Racing Sports) variants are among the most coveted classic 911s and its easy to see why. The vehicle’s competition-grade hardware is noteworthy by itself, but it’s the vehicle’s ducktail spoiler and red Carrera decal that really put it over the top.

The actual activity of oxygen in liquid metal is determined by means of sensors during the ladle treatment of 08X18H10T high-alloy steel. The activity of the components of the metallic and oxide solutions is calculated by means of models of a pseudosubregular solution for the liquid metal and a pseudoregular solution for the oxide slag. The corresponding energy parameters were determined in previous research. A formula is derived for the activity of oxygen in equilibrium with the components of Fe-Cr-Ni-Mn-Si-C-Al-Ti liquid steel, eight-component FeO-MnO-CaO-MgO-SiO 2 -CrO 1.5 -AlO 1.5 -TiO 2 slag, and the gas phase. It is found that the metal-slag-gas system at the end of reduction is considerably closer to equilibrium than at the end of oxidation. The development of the reduction process is studied in terms of the difference in chemical potentials of the actual and equilibrium oxygen.
