The sailing yacht was used by Virginia Tech professor Francesco Ferretti and his team of scientists to gather more information on the species. It also welcomed a film crew that was tasked with documenting the mission.

“The Mediterranean’s top predator is quickly disappearing from the region,” Ferretti told Robb Report via email. “We must act fast to save this population from extinction.”

Mediterranean white sharks are now critically endangered, according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. To safeguard the species, scientists need to track and tag sharks to understand more about their migration, eating, and breeding patterns. No easy feat considering locating them is like finding “a needle in a haystack.” Ferretti thought the Sicilian Channel could be a potential hotspot, so Blue Titan and her owner Frank Peeters took the scientists to Tunisia, Lampedusa, and Malta.

The team spent 17 days on board, but much of the work was waylaid by bureaucratic red tape. They did succeed in satellite tagging a Mako shark for the first time in the region, though. They also completed environmental DNA water testing and deployed baited underwater video cameras. More importantly, Ferretti says the trip has laid a path for future expeditions.

The trend of vessels being loaned out to scientists is becoming more common these days, as owners become more focused on sustainability. Cruise lines Viking and Ponant have also started launching ships equipped with high-tech research labs that can be put to use on far-flung expeditions.

Price reductions on superyachts Aglaia and Blue Titan at Northrop & Johnson

A call to Joost Goverts at Northrop & Johnson in Spain brings news of price cuts on the sailing yachts Aglaia and Blue Titan .

Aglaia is a 23.47m GRP yacht. Built by Hamble Yacht Services in 2002 to a design by Rob Humphreys and ABS classed, she was refitted in 2004. This superyacht's interior by Ken Freivokh accommodates six guests in a master, double and twin cabin and she cruises at 9 knots. Aglaia is now down from €1,795,000 to €1.5 million.

Blue Titan is a 26.8m sailing yacht built by Taiwan’s US Yacht Building Corporation in 1988 to ABS commercial standards. Designed by Ted Hood, she's MCA compliant and accommodates up to eight guests in three staterooms and was refitted in 2008.

Blue Titan is an immensely powerful superyacht with world cruising capabilities, including a strengthened ice breaker bow. A draft of just two metres allows her to enter the shallowest passages and anchor in the quietest harbours and she can easily be sailed by a crew of only two. Formerly listed at €850,000,  Blue Titan  is now asking €775,000.

Over the past few months, we've been keeping up with  Daisy Kelliher  as she's shared some smoldering swimsuit photos. From her light purple two-piece she wore while visiting Los Angeles, California, in January, to the cheeky black one-piece  she rocked in Dubai in February, the  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  cast member has been busy on the vacation front.

Daisy Kelliher details her visit to Los Angeles, California 

In another Instagram post shared on March 4, Daisy revealed a carousel of images detailing her different adventures in California.

"It was another amazing week in LA. I just love how there is so much to do!" Daisy captioned the post, in which she noted how she visited Universal Studios, Mother Wolf restaurant, The Bungalow in Santa Monica, the club Lock & Key in Koreatown, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and Shirley's restaurant located inside the hotel. Daisy added that she saw the music group Kaskade at Avalon Hollywood for an "amazing" night out in the city. 

Daisy shared several photos from her travels, including snapshots of delicious-looking food, nights in the club, and outfits for her California occasion.

What's more, Daisy has also formed an unlikely friendship over the past few months with actress Christina Applegate, who became a big fan of the Below Deck   franchise. 

"She’s a huge Bravo fan, and she reached out to me via Instagram, and was massively supportive," Daisy shared in an interview with the  Daily Mail on February 19. She said, 'Hey Daisy,' and we FaceTime and stuff. She's just so nice."

The chief stew also noted she hoped to "meet up" with Christina some day. Daisy didn't post any photos from her L.A. trip with Christina, but we wonder if they did indeed meet up during Daisy's trip. 

"She's busy with her family and I know she is taking it easy, and keeping all of her energy for her [Multiple Scelorsis], but hopefully we’ll make time," Daisy concluded to the outlet.

Earlier in January, we caught up with Daisy when she visited out west. For the occasion, took to her Instagram Stories to share a view of herself taking in the beautiful sunset by the beach.

There has been a reasonable level of turnover from 2020 with Anton Noshin, Evgenii Mokrousov, Aleksei Godenkov and Ivan Zuikov joining the newly formed TsOP Moskomsport outfit. Danill Karagodin, Mikhail Nekludov and Ilya Larikov have all retired.

Their replacements are mostly youngsters with Dmitry Zheleznyakov, Aleksei Samylkin, Petr Agapov, Ilia Bartenev, Andrei Gribanov and Oleg Kulakov joining their line-up.
