56m Perini Navi sailing yacht Panthalassea completes refit
Perini Navi 's 56-metre Panthalassea (ex. Panthalassa ) has completed significant refit works at Amsterdam Yacht Service's shipyard in Zaandam. She has now been brought back to her "original racing potential" and is ready for her "second wind" on the regatta course, according to the shipyard.
Amsterdam Yacht Service was required to demolish part of its shed and add a temporary extension to accommodate the sailing yacht, alongside constructing a bespoke frame to capture her keel.
Carried out in cooperation with her "highly experienced owner", work included the disassembling and refitting of her sail winches and anchor windlasses, a teak deck refresh (prior to comissioning) and mast stepping.
"The owner informed us that he intends to sail the yacht extensively, [and so] we were keen to ensure that we brought her technically up to speed once again, ready for sailing regattas," explained the shipyard's director Robert Binnekade.
Binnekade added: "There was an extra challenge for us as a shipyard to ensure that all of the vessel’s technology was working perfectly: from her engines to her shaft alignment and onboard systems. This was a challenge which we rose to, and we are so proud of the results."
According to BOATPro , Perini Navi currently has two yachts under construction – a 56-metre performance sailer and 47-metre sloop.
