HYPERION is a truly extraordinary yacht with exceptional style, quality and luxury. From the outset, HYPERION was always going to have much more than just a sleek interior. Royal Huisman were set the task of creating a yacht that would employ ground breaking computer systems capable of controlling everything from the “actual navigation” to “mood lighting.” Royal Huisman also have a large in-house team of craftsmen who ensured that materials used were not just aesthetically pleasing, but also in keeping with the main structure of the yacht and would ensure a peaceful stay on board.

Despite the overall high tech approach, the spectacular interior designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder demonstrates exquisite inlaid marquetry and Moroccan marble. The interior loses none of its appeal and it really is a case of “the more you look, the more you discover.” The guest’s suites and owner’s stateroom lie aft and are accessed by a beautifully detailed stairway and an elegant corridor featuring sculptures and fine art. The custom made fixtures and fittings will please even the most discerning eye.

DESCRIPTION

A high-tech, award-winning sailing yacht with multiple design features, Hyperion provides the ideal charter for intrepid voyagers keen to explore the world. Built in 1998 by renowned Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman, Hyperion is a stunning 47.42m sloop sail yacht with a displacement hull. A refit in 2023 saw a complete overhaul of her teak decks, exterior paint and machinery, followed by a new suit of North Sails in 2016. Boasting a carbon dagger board and (at the time of launch) the tallest ever single rig, Hyperion is a unique yacht. Designed inside and out by Pieter Beeldsnijder Design, her interior includes ornate woodwork, bespoke fabrics and an entertainment centre. She features an unusual two level main saloon, which houses a piano and formal dining area, while her versatile pilothouse has the option of being open while under sail. Immaculately maintained, Hyperion accommodates up to six guests in three cabins, including a master suite with a relaxation area and an opulent marble bathroom, one double cabin and one twin cabin.

Designed by German Frers, this impressive vessel spans 47.4m (155.6ft), marrying traditional aesthetics with cutting-edge technology to offer an unforgettable sailing experience for a select group of up to 6 guests.

The interior, envisioned by Pieter Beeldsnijder, exudes elegance with warm mahogany panels, inlaid marquetry, Moroccan marbles, and custom fittings. Divided into three lounges, the pilot house boasts two spacious seating areas, providing unrivaled views. The upper salon features ample windows, a formal dining table, and lounge space, while the lower salon offers a cozy area for entertainment, complete with a generous lounge, occasional chairs, and even a piano.

Below decks, aft of the lower salon, guest accommodations include two double and two twin cabins. The exterior of HYPERION is adorned with luscious teak decking, offering various living spaces. The aft deck boasts a covered seating area, alfresco dining options, and dual helm stations. With a substantial beam of 9.5m (31.4ft) and wide decks, easy access to the expansive, flush foredeck and ample relaxing areas is ensured.

HYPERION's remarkable features include a 59m (193.5ft) carbon fiber mast, 59 km of wiring, and 13,000 square feet of sail area. Unique amenities include a state-of-the-art temperature-controlled wine rack for 200 bottles and cutting-edge computer technology. Recognizing its excellence, the Royal Huisman Shipyard received the Showboats International Award for the best sailing yacht over 38m (125ft). HYPERION and her crew also clinched victory in the superyacht millennium cup yacht race in New Zealand.

With an extended hydraulic swim platform, HYPERION offers an array of water toy options, making it effortless for the active members of the group to indulge while others choose to bask in the sun.

With a hull from German Frers, an interior by Peter Beeldsnijder and built by the world renowned Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman, HYPERION is a class act with a legacy to match. She was built for a technology pioneer and experienced yachtsman. Her design incorporates many high tech features and ideas, even down to her carbon dagger board. When she was launched, she had the tallest ever single rig.

Still only in her second ownership, she has always been maintained in first class order from day one. Her most recent refit saw her return to her build yard in 2014/15 where all the machinery (including generators, air conditioning & refrigeration) down to the teak decks, paint and much more were completely renewed. Not only was she launched with the tallest single rig for a yacht at that time, HYPERION also employs groundbreaking computer systems and technologies. She is a joy to charter and guests will be thrilled by HYPERION’s performance under sail, luxurious interiors and attentive crew.

The Pieter Beeldsnijder Design interiors are spectacular featuring exquisite veneers and beautiful Moroccan marble. Every inch of space has been thoughtfully considered to ensure functionality and ultimate comfort and style. The design is traditional and timeless in her sumptuous split-level main salon. The lower-level features comfortable seating, a small dining area and a piano, while the upper level is for formal dining, lounging and movie nights. The pilothouse offers beautiful views while under sail and can be fully enclosed or open to the cooling breezes. Ample seating and tables are found here for more relaxed dining.

There are three elegant staterooms sleeping up to six guests in luxury. The master stateroom is a classically styled retreat with a private office, lounge area and stunning marble en-suite bathroom. There is also a stylish double and a twin cabin each with impressive en-suite bathrooms. All of the guest cabins boast gorgeous wood paneling, soft, luxurious fabrics and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.

Indeed it can be said that Hyperion's 'milestones' include her carbon fiber mast at 59 m length, exerting some 200 compressive tons at its base, or her computer, powered with some 500 billion bytes. Consider 59 km of wiring and 13,000 square feet of sail area, or a temperature controlled wine rack for some 200 bottles, and it is with great pride that Royal Huisman Shipyard received the prestigious Showboats International Award for the best sailing yacht over 38 m.

"Probably the only shipyard in the world that could put together such a complex and diverse set of engineering disciplines". "And to think all this is encaded in rich golden mahogany hand inlaid with intricate marquetry, a gentle reminder - the more you look the more you see."

Powered by a 1,100 hp MTU diesel engine driving a LIPS variable pitch propeller, Hyperion's 9.56m beam and 4.8m draft (7.3m - carbon centerboard down) can easily be driven through the water at 16 knots, and during her maiden transatlantic voyage she managed a sailing speed of 19 knots.

The 35.5m/116'6" motor yacht 'Hyperion' (ex. B116/ 01) was built by HSY Yachts at their Antalya shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Yacht Interiors by Shelley and she was delivered to her owner in August 2021. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Hargrave.

Range & Performance

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Her low draft of makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. She was built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) classification society rules.
