Tint World ® Yacht & Boat Detailing Options

Tint World ® has a wide array of professional yacht & boat detailing options!

Tint World ® Wash & Shine

We use a non-abrasive boat cleaning wash and wax to wash off all the salt and dirt, without stripping off the boat wax coating that is protecting your paint or gel coat.

Tint World ® Wax Sealant & Protectant

After cleaning, yacht detailing continues with a Collinites Fiberglass wax or Collinites Fleet wax for painted boats to remove oxidation and restore your boat's paint or gel-coatfinish to a glistening shine. A fresh coat of wax will protect your boat from U.V rays and keep salt, dirt and other environmental pollutants from penetrating and damaging your boat's finish. We also add a separate silicone spray before drying the vessel with chamois, which results in a 'just waxed' looking shine.

Tint World ® Interior Yacht & Boat Detailing

Interior yacht & boat detailing includes dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and scrubbing to ensure your galley, heads, and any other areas below deck are always kept in pristine conditions.

Tint World ® Compounding (Oxidation Removal)

Gel-coat, the exterior finish on fiberglass boats, is a porous mix of polyester resins and pigments that must be sealed from the damaging effects of ultra-violet (UV) rays, salt, dirt and weather. Without proper boat detailing, it becomes more porous due to the oxidation of the mixture resins and what remains is a faded, dull finish. Yearly compounding will keep your boat looking good for years. Periodic polishing with a fine compound will remove the oxidation. Applying and maintaining a good coat of wax after cleaning will prevent further deterioration.

*If your yacht or boat is already dull and chalky we can restore it to its original luster by boat detailing with machine compounding, polishing, and waxing.

Tint World ® Waxing (Sealant, Protectant)

After boat cleaning, we use a professional grade marine wax providing the highest standard of long lasting shine. This yacht & boat detailing service will make your vessel look show-room good.

Tint World ® Leather, Vinyl Restoration

Our yacht & boat detailing service can also include upholstery cleaning, mildew removal, and conditioning of all upholstery, leather, and vinyl. Once our vinyl and leather cleaner has brought your upholstery back to its new condition, our vinyl and leather yacht detailing solution will ensure they remain supple and protected against all the elements.

Tint World ® Rust Stain Removal

They say that rust is the cancer of yachts. Our top of the line boat cleaning and boat detailing products will remove all the rust stains from your vessel and apply a protective shield to help prevent future rust stains.

Tint World ® Isinglass Restoration

Strataglass ® , Lexan ® , Plexiglass ® , Crystal Clear, Eisenglass, etc. Whatever the name it all comes from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which has certain definite characteristics and all restore like new with our special Polyvinyl polish. Our yacht and boat detailing service includes special polyvinyl polish to return your vinyl enclosures' clarity, hide any scratches, and make your vinyl enclosure water repellent.

Tint World ® Fiberglass, Gel-coat, Non-Skid Repair

During yacht & boat detailing, one can't help but notice "the little things." Often the minor scratch or nick only affects the cosmetic quality of the surface. If the blemish is deep enough to expose the fiberglass mat below then it requires immediate attention to prevent water from entering the core and de-laminating the structure. Either way we have the answer. From minor chip and scratch repair to filling and fairing, and non-skid deck repair or rebuilding, we have the knowledge and experience to get the job done right.

Tint World ® Stainless, Metal, Aluminum Yacht Detailing

Tint World ® Yacht and Boat Detailing Services include all metal work – from the bow rail and cleats, to the T-Top or Tuna Tower, your vessel will benefit greatly from our metal restoration service. Our Metal Polish removes rust and tarnish from all metal types; we then put on a protective metal wax for shine and protecting against future erosion.

Tint World ® Engine Room Yacht Detailing, Paint, and Repair

We provide a full and comprehensive engine room Yacht detailing service. Firstly we remove oil and bilge water, and then safely dispose of it. Then we degrease engines, engine rooms, bilges and condition the engine to protect and shine. If required, engines can be repainted before conditioner and diapers will be laid under the engine and in bilges. If your engine requires repair, we have a certified and insured mechanic on our staff available at all times.

Tint World ® Teak Wood / Gel Coat Repair

Nothing makes your yacht or boat look more beautiful than a brand new coat of varnish on your wood surfaces. A high quality varnish during yacht detailing will greatly extend the longevity and beauty of the wood. Varnish will prevent the wood from absorbing moisture, environmental pollutants, and protect it from spills and dirt.

Gel-coat, the exterior finish on fiberglass boats, is a porous mix of polyester resins and pigments that must be sealed from the damaging effects of ultra-violet rays, salt, dirt, and weather. Neglect it, and it becomes more porous due to the oxidation of the mixture resins and what remains is a faded, dull finish. With Tint World ® Yacht & Boat Detailing Services, we protect and repair your gel-coat.

Tint World ® Boat and Yacht Hull Detailing

If the hull of your vessel isn't maintained, marine growth creates drag, and reduces your speed. Extra demand on engines to maintain your speed means increased fuel use and an added cost, regardless of vessel size. Monthly yacht and boat detailing for your hull, performed by Tint World ® experienced divers, will preserve your hull's paint, and ensure that your smooth and clean hull slips through the water without added drag.

*Yacht detailing prices may vary based on condition of vessel and store location. Each store is individually owned and operated, see store manager for details.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

global yacht detailing

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

global yacht detailing

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

global yacht detailing

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

global yacht detailing

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

global yacht detailing

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

global yacht detailing

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

global yacht detailing

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

In 2023, 89.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas was consumed in the United States, the most on record . Since 2018, U.S. natural gas consumption has increased by an average of 4% annually.

Monthly natural gas consumption set new records every month from March 2023 through November 2023. U.S. natural gas consumption has risen in the electric power sector as coal-fired electric-generating capacity has declined.

Last year, the largest monthly increases in natural gas consumed by the electric power sector were in July and August, despite cooler-than-normal temperatures than during those months in 2022. Natural gas consumption in the electric power sector, which typically increases in July and August to meet air-conditioning demand, increased by 6% in July and August 2023 compared with those months in 2022, setting monthly records of 47.5 Bcf/d in July and 47.2 Bcf/d in August.

U.S. coal production units are retiring as the nation’s coal fleet ages and coal-fired generators are replaced by generators using natural gas and renewables. Although natural gas-fired power generation increased by 6% in July and August of 2023 compared with a year earlier, overall electricity growth year-on-year was flat in July at 412 billion kilowatthours (kWh) and rose just 3% in August to 410 billion kWh.

The most natural gas consumed in the United States in any month of 2023 occurred in January at 106.6 Bcf/d, but consumption was 8% less than in January 2022. Warmer-than-average temperatures reduced natural gas consumption in the residential and commercial sectors to meet space-heating demand.

In 2023, natural gas consumption fell 10% in the residential sector to 12.3 Bcf/d compared with 2022 and 6%, or 0.5 Bcf/d, in the commercial sector. The amount of natural gas consumed in the industrial sector remained unchanged, averaging 23.4 Bcf/d. The largest increase in natural gas consumption by a U.S. economic sector in 2023 came in the electric power sector, which increased 7% (2.2 Bcf/d) from 33.2 Bcf/d in 2022 to a record of 35.4 Bcf/d.

New study calculates climate change’s economic bite will hit about $38 trillion a year by 2049

Climate change will reduce future global income by about 19% in the next 25 years compared to a fictional world that’s not warming, with the poorest areas and those least responsible for heating the atmosphere taking the biggest monetary hit, a new study said.

Climate change’s economic bite in how much people make is already locked in at about $38 trillion a year by 2049, according to Wednesday’s study in the journal Nature by researchers at Germany’s Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. By 2100 the financial cost could hit twice what previous studies estimate.

“Our analysis shows that climate change will cause massive economic damages within the next 25 years in almost all countries around the world, also in highly-developed ones such as Germany and the U.S., with a projected median income reduction of 11% each and France with 13%,” said study co-author Leonie Wenz, a climate scientist and economist.

These damages are compared to a baseline of no climate change and are then applied against overall expected global growth in gross domestic product, said study lead author Max Kotz, a climate scientist. So while it’s 19% globally less than it could have been with no climate change, in most places, income will still grow, just not as much because of warmer temperatures.

For the past dozen years, scientists and others have been focusing on extreme weather such as heat waves, floods, droughts, storms as the having the biggest climate impact. But when it comes to financial hit the researchers found “the overall impacts are still mainly driven by average warming, overall temperature increases,” Kotz said. It harms crops and hinders labor production, he said.

“Those temperature increases drive the most damages in the future because they’re really the most unprecedented compared to what we’ve experienced historically,” Kotz said. Last year, a record-hot year, the global average temperature was 1.35 degrees Celsius (2.43 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than pre-industrial times, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The globe has not had a month cooler than 20th century average since February 1979.

In the United States, the southeastern and southwestern states get economically pinched more than the northern ones with parts of Arizona and New Mexico taking the biggest monetary hit, according to the study. In Europe, southern regions, including parts of Spain and Italy, get hit harder than places like Denmark or northern Germany.

Only Arctic adjacent areas — Canada, Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden — benefit, Kotz said.

It also means countries which have historically produced fewer greenhouse gas emissions per person and are least able to financially adapt to warming weather are getting the biggest financial harms too, Kotz said.

The world’s poorest countries will suffer 61% bigger income loss than the richest ones, the study calculated.

“It underlies some of the injustice elements of climate,” Kotz said.

This new study looked deeper than past research, examining 1,600 global areas that are smaller than countries, took several climate factors into account and examined how long climate economic shocks last, Kotz said. The study examined past economic impacts on average global domestic product per person and uses computer simulations to look into the future to come up with their detailed calculations.

The study shows that the economic harms over the next 25 years are locked in with emission cuts producing only small changes in the income reduction. But in the second half of this century that’s when two different possible futures are simulated, showing that cutting carbon emissions now really pays off because of how the heat-trapping gases accumulate, Kotz said.

If the world could curb carbon pollution and get down to a trend that limits warming to 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial times, which is the upper limit of the 2015 Paris climate agreement, then the financial hit will stay around 20% in global income, Kotz said. But if emissions increase in a worst case scenario, the financial wallop will be closer to 60%, he said.

That shows that the public shouldn’t think it’s a financial “doomsday” and nothing can be done, Kotz said.

Still, it’s worse than a 2015 study that predicted a worst case income hit of about 25% by the end of the century.

Marshall Burke, the Stanford University climate economist who wrote the 2015 study, said this new research’s finding that the economic damage ahead is locked in and large “makes a lot of sense.”

Burke, who wasn’t part of this study, said he has some issues with some of the technical calculations “so I wouldn’t put a ton of weight on their specific numerical estimates, but I think the big picture is basically right.”

The conclusions are on the high end compared to other recent studies, but since climate change goes for a long time and economic damage from higher temperatures keep compounding, they “add up to very large numbers,” said University of California Davis economist and environmental studies professor Frances Moore, who wasn’t part of the study. That’s why fighting climate change clearly passes economists’ tests of costs versus benefits, she said.

Global Citizen NOW urges investment in Sub-Saharan Africa and youth outreach

Global Citizen NOW says it wants 2024 conference attendees to invest long-term in the African continent's fast-growing youth population and increase outreach to young changemakers

NEW YORK -- This week's Global Citizen NOW conference featured appeals for long-term investments in the African continent's fast-growing youth population and increased outreach to young changemakers worldwide, as the international advocacy organization seeks to drive resources toward antipoverty causes.

The conflict-riddled international scene has made it even more vital that political, business and philanthropic leaders support education and health care in the least-developed nations, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans said. Some of the week's biggest asks included up to $6 billion for economic development in Africa and $600 million for a United Nations-administered fund supporting education during emergencies.

“I don’t need to lecture anyone about polarization," Evans told The Associated Press. "But I do think that the corollary of that is that sometimes people can feel completely hopeless and disempowered. My one hope is that our platform continues to stand for clear, decisive, practical actions that citizens can take to change the world for good.”

To further its goals, the two-day conference in New York leaned on the star power of longtime ambassador Hugh Jackman, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh and Brazilian singer Anitta. Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, even made a previously unpublicized appearance Wednesday to discuss the need for men to actively fight sexism and champion reproductive rights.

“The Walking Dead” and “Black Panther” star Danai Gurira said more Western aid alone is not enough. African nations need true self-determinism because “we are so far from uprooting ourselves from colonialism," according to the Iowa-born actress who was raised in Zimbabwe.

“We are ridiculously wealthy, from the cobalt to the lithium to the diamonds to the rubber to the oil," she said. "But often you don’t see us in control of it.”

About 60% of Africa's population is younger than 25 years old — a tremendous asset that two-time Super Bowl champion Osi Umenyiora said only needs more opportunity. The former defensive end discussed his work spearheading the National Football League 's efforts there to provide the training necessary for international athletes to get college scouts' attention and eventually play professionally.

The NFL has academies in the United Kingdom and Australia. Umenyiora said he hopes to add facilities by 2030 in countries including Nigeria, Kenya and Morocco.

“The best athletes in the world, in my estimation, are in Africa," Umenyiora told the AP. "It’s just they haven’t been developed. They haven’t been trained.”

The conference followed the announcement that Global Citizen will co-present an economic summit in Ivory Coast this fall. The goal is to boost foreign aid to Sub-Saharan Africa, where the working-age population is expected to double by 2050 but many lack access to electricity.

Speakers emphasized that global leaders must help bridge those gaps now if they want to tap the region's full potential. Foreign aid can work, they said, despite recent moves from once-generous, debt-saddled governments to decrease the amounts allocated toward developing countries.

Former Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven pitched development assistance as a mutually beneficial investment, not a one-sided act of charity.

“Why not use the whole potential of the world?” asked Lofven, who set a target to spend 1% of Sweden's gross national income on aid while in office.

The conference also marked Global Citizen's efforts to draw Gen Z into its 12 million-member network. The organization recently paired more than 300 young leaders with officials including World Bank President Ajay Banga at the first international edition of Global Citizen NOW.

Nonpartisan civic engagement groups HeadCount and I Am A Voter announced a merger during a Thursday panel, seeking to leverage the power of musicians and brands to increase youth voter registration as the U.S. presidential election ramps up.

Other speakers shared strategies for engaging authentically with young people online. Anitta told the AP that she hosts classes on Instagram Live so that her fans can learn with her about environmental issues like rainforest protection.

Actor Jordan Fisher acknowledged that seemingly insurmountable student loans or the unaffordable housing market might make young people feel politically lost. He emphasized that voting is just one way to begin getting involved.

Fisher is also identifying new platforms to empower members of Global Citizen. An avid gamer, he is advising the organization as it develops a gaming division. He said livestreaming services like Twitch can be a great tool for raising money and awareness among audiences tuning in to watch their favorite creators.

“It's some of the most authentic work that can be done. It's just people. And it's just us. It's human beings," Fisher told the AP.

“The power of gaming is massive."
