The 91.5m (300.2ft) yacht TRANQUILITY was delivered in 2014 by the renowned Dutch shipyard Oceanco with exterior design by the shipyard in collaboration with Winch Design and Asian influenced interiors exclusively by Winch Design. Ice classed for high latitude exploration and built to the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC), she can accommodate 18-22 guests in 9-10 suites across bridge, upper and main decks. Her 2,998GT gives her an exceptional volume too.

The yacht has vast outside spaces including a 20sqm (215sqft) pool on the upper deck forward of a huge sun lounging area on the helipad - certified for an Airbus EC-135 or equivalent.

On the lower deck an extensive beach club with a fully equipped bar and lounge has direct access to a dedicated wellness centre that includes a fully equipped gym with a large sea terrace, beauty salon and massage room, sauna, hammam and plunge pool.

There is another sea terrace for the lower deck guest lobby forward on the starboard side, where an elevator runs from lower to upper decks. A crow's nest observation lounge above the sun deck provides a more intimate setting.

TRANQUILITY's interior showcases Winch Design at its creative peak, blending Eastern styles, light and shade and contrasting textures. Materials such as wenge, gold leaf, bamboo, bleached oak and Travatino Veluto marble create a relaxed and welcoming environment with an extensive choice of socialising and lounging spaces.

These include two formal dining areas, one in the main deck saloon for up to 18 guests and another with 180 degree views in the upper deck lounge for 12 guests, each with spacious relaxation areas adjacent.

The upper deck owner's suite is lit by a large skylight and includes seating areas either side, a study, an impressive bathroom, walk in wardrobes and a private deck area forward with a jacuzzi. There is also a double cabin fitted out to a high standard for guests or staff.

On the bridge deck is an aft facing VVIP suite with full height sliding glass doors opening onto a large terrace.

The remaining guest accommodation, on the main deck, includes two VIP suites with folding balconies, one of which can be converted into two double cabins. Two further double cabins and two twin cabins complete her versatile guest accommodation.

She also carries two 10.5m (34.4ft) custom tenders by Hodgdon that launch from shell doors on the main deck aft and has further toy stowage on the lower deck.

Powered by twin 4,800hp MTU diesel engines, TRANQUILITY has a top speed of 18.5 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 5,000nm at 14 knots.

TRANQUILITY Yacht Sales

Delivered in 2014 by the prestigious Dutch shipyard Oceanco, the 91.5m (300.2ft) ice-classed TRANQUILITY is a true ocean-going world exploration vessel. Clean, elegant lines are the result of a collaboration between Oceanco and Winch Design and Winch also masterminded the Eastern-inspired interior, which features a variety of exotic materials.

TRANQUILITY has enormous outside living areas and very comfortable indoor guest areas with connections to the outside. Her interior is a masterpiece of both style and texture with Wenge, gold leaf, bamboo, bleached oak and Travatino Veluto marble creating the ultimate in indulgent relaxation. From her magnificent flexible guest accommodation to her various saloons and deck areas, she has an extensive choice of socialising and lounging spaces.

At 2,998 GT, she was built to comply with the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) and accommodates 18-22 guests in 9-11 suites. Situated on the upper deck, the master suite includes a spacious lounge and study, with a private exterior door leading to a deck area with jacuzzi. A full-beam VIP suite is located on the bridge deck while additional guest suites are located on the main deck, including two VIP cabins, one of which can be converted into two double cabins, and a further two double cabins and two separate twin cabins. The layout can be adapted to suit the owner’s plans so she can sleep up to 22 guests and cruise with up to 36 guests on board during the day.

The yacht’s outside space is equally impressive, offering all the usual facilities of a yacht of this size. The upper deck features a 20sqm (215sqft) pool and huge sun lounging area aft on the helipad, certified for an Airbus EC-135 or equivalent. Down on the lower deck the extensive beach club, which is large enough for a bar and lounging area, has direct internal access to a dedicated wellness area that includes a fully equipped gym with a sea terrace, beauty salon, sauna, hammam, plunge pool and experiential showers.

The multi-award winning 91.5m/300'2" expedition yacht 'Tranquility' (ex. Equanimity) by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco offers flexible accommodation for up to 22 guests in 11 cabins and features interior styling by British designer Winch Design.

Built in 2014, Tranquility is made for thrilling adventure and exploration in the most remote places around the globe. Her features include a helipad, beauty salon, movie theatre, spa, elevator, underwater lights, beach club and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Tranquility offers guest accommodation for up to 22 guests in 11 suites comprising a master suite, three VIP cabins, four double cabins and two twin cabins. The supremely spacious full beam master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room. There are 13 beds in total, including 7 king, 2 queen, 4 singles and 1 convertible. She is also capable of carrying up to 31 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Tranquility, notably a piano, perfect for creating a relaxed atmosphere for you and your guests. For those looking to unwind after a long day of exploration on the water, you will find a dedicated and comfortable movie theatre. Elsewhere the latest beauty and hair treatments are available in the luxurious beauty room plus relieve aches from a busy day on the water in the steam room. Soothe tired limbs and reinvigorate yourself in the sauna and in addition kick back and relax in the well-appointed spa. The swimming pool is perfect for exercising or admiring a romantic sunrise. Make your day truly exceptional at the beach club or elsewhere, a gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out. Sit back with a glass of champagne in the deck jacuzzi.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably an elevator, making any part of the yacht quickly and easily accessible. She features a helipad, so you can arrive in ultimate style and comfort plus stay connected to the outside world on long voyages with satellite communications. At night, guests can enjoy a mesmerizing light spectacle in the water thanks to underwater lights and in addition whether you want to work, use social media or stream movies on board this yacht, you can with Wi-Fi connectivity. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 18 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 279,000 litre fuel tanks at 14 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Set against the backdrop of your chosen cruising ground, you and your guests can enjoy fun on the water with the collection of water toys and accessories aboard Tranquility. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the WaveRunners. Another excellent feature are towable toys offering fun and adventure. Tranquility features three tenders, but leading the pack is a 10.5m/34'5" Hodgdon Limo Tender to transport you in style.

Special Features

TRANQUILITY has the distinction of being the industry's first superyacht designed and built to be fully Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) compliant. She features a 20m squared pool on her deck with jets, a private hot tub outside the master suite and a beach club. An indoor-outdoor wellness area is open to all guests and includes a sauna, hammam, plunge pool and beauty salon. Experiential showers are also available on board as well as a helipad on her upper deck.

Tranquility is available upon request for charter this winter. She is already accepting bookings this summer for cruising in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

While the route to auction can occasionally be a consequence of legal action, some owners view the bidding format as an exciting alternative to the traditional means of buying and selling a boat. As the sale of Alfa Nero concludes in Antigua, we look back on ten of the largest yachts sold at auction to date...

H (née Indian Empress) | 95m

The 95-metre Oceanco superyacht Indian Empress was put up for auction after being seized in Malta following claims that its crew was owed more than $1 million in unpaid wages. A court-ordered auction took place in June 2018 with bidding rumoured to have opened at €25 million. When the winner failed to pay their €43.5 million bid in time, the judge presiding over the case gave approval for the private sale of the vessel to Sea Beauty Yachting Limited just days before the second auction was set to take place. The yacht was sold for €35 million and was renamed NEOM . She offers accommodation for up to 12 guests and 30 crewmembers in a 3,176GT interior. Today, she goes by the name H and has been entirely rebuilt with a 10-metre extension. 

Tranquility (née Equanimity) | 91.5m

Delivered as Equanimity in 2014, the 91.5-metre Oceanco vessel is the second-largest yacht sold at auction to date. The yacht was seized by Indonesian authorities at the request of the US Department of Justice in 2018 and the auction of Equanimity , which took place in October 2018, was managed by Burgess, appointed by the High Court of Malaya to assist with the sale. The winning bid was made by Genting Malaysia Bhd at $126 million and the yacht was renamed Tranquility . 

Alfa Nero | 81m

Oceanco's Alfa Nero is one of the latest superyachts to be sold at auction after she was abandoned in Antigua. The 81.3-metre had been moored at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina since February 2022 and was blocked from leaving the port subject to an official search to determine whether the ultimate beneficiary owner had been named on international sanctions lists following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. After no claim to ownership was made, the government of Antigua and Barbuda announced that she would be sold to the highest bidder. A winning bid of $67,000,677 was made in June 2023 by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

Sea Ranger (née Lone Ranger) |  77.7m

Lone Ranger , an oceangoing tug turned luxury explorer, was sold at a live auction held during the Antibes Yacht Show in 2013. The Prestige Yacht Auction was the first of its kind and was heralded as a new way to buy and sell a yacht. The 77.75 metre Lone Ranger found a new owner at the auction and the buyer was represented by Burgess. While the final bid remains undisclosed, the yacht was listed at £20,000,000 prior to the auction and was sold at her reserve price. Lone Ranger has a 31,000-mile range at 12 knots and has circumnavigated the world several times. She has since been renamed Sea Ranger .

Titania (née Apoise) | 73m

The 67-metre Lürssen Apoise was put up for auction in 2010 after four years spent cruising around the world. Her owner, Dave Ritchie, co-founded the auction house Ritchie Bros Auctioneers, and so it was only natural that the boat should be sold at auction. The public auction was held at the Ritz-Carlton Caymans in March 2010. Bidding started at €20 million without a reserve and the yacht soon sold for 33.75 million - roughly half the boat’s estimated value - to British businessman John Caudwell . She was refitted , lengthened, renamed Titania .

Axioma (née Red Square) | 72.5m

The 72.5-metre superyacht Axioma was sold at auction in August 2022. She went under the hammer after she was arrested after her former owner was found to be in breach of a loan agreement with JP Morgan Bank. She was sold for just over $37.5 million by the  Admiralty Court of Gibraltar in a private auction with Howe Robinson handling the sale. A total of 63 bids were considered after a license granted by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control authorised US-based buyers to participate in the sale. The winning bid was selected following an enhanced due diligence process. Axioma was built in 2013 by Dunya Yachts and offers accommodation for up to 12 guests with interiors by the late Alberto Pinto.

Illusion (née Galactica Star) | 65m

Galactica Star was listed for auction in 2019 after a U.S. federal court ordered the sale of the 65-metre Heesen at the joint request of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Nigerian government following an international corruption investigation. The yacht was sold following a sealed auction with a minimum reserve price set at $42,000,000. Onboard highlights include accommodation for 12 guests and a 77-square-metre beach club with a glass-bottomed swimming pool above. Galactica Star was the largest yacht to be delivered by the Dutch shipyard at the time. She now goes by the name Illusion .

Force Blue | 63m

The 63-metre Royal Denship superyacht Force Blue was put up for auction at the beginning of 2021. With the opening price set at €7,000,000, the yacht was sold at auction on January 27 after four bids were placed. Force Blue can sleep a total of 12 guests and features a spa, gym, cinema and disco among its many amenities. She underwent a transformative seven-month refit, including a seven-metre extension of the swim platform and an interior overhaul, and is now available for charter with Fraser .

Bacarella | 60m

In 2014, the 60-metre Trinity motor yacht Bacarella was auctioned by the Supreme Court, Gibraltar with ICAP Shipping acting as the broker and overseeing the sale. The auction saw 19 serious bidders and the winning offer was in excess of $30 million. The helicopter-capable vessel is powered by twin 2,012hp Caterpillar engines delivering a range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Triton | 49.7m

In another court-ordered auction, this time by the United States Marshal, the 49.7-metre Triton found a new owner in 2013, selling for $11 million. At the time of her launch in 2004, Triton was the largest composite yacht built in the United States. Still cruising under the same name, her aft deck accommodates a Eurocopter EC130B4 while her superstructure features a distinctive crow's nest accessible via an elevator.
