Valentino Rossi tests his brand new yacht Titilla III while wondering about his MotoGP future!

We talked about it a few months ago in one of our articles and now we have absolute certainty. The Italian two-wheel champion Valentino Rossi has launched his new yacht with a first outing in the Adriatic Sea, off the Portonovo bay.

What, in all likelihood, will become the Titilla III, is a real jewel from the Sanlorenzo shipyards located in the city of La Spezia.

A not exciting start to the season

Started as a synonym for great changes, Valentino’s MotoGP season has not been a season full of successes up to now and indeed, The Doctor has had to deal with a long series of acclimatization problems first and then technical problems, which have not allowed him to take any satisfaction until today.

It is therefore easy to think that Valentino particularly appreciated the opportunity to test his new yacht by distracting himself from what may be his thoughts now, between present and future.

A decision to make

The latest rumors relating to the 42-year-old’s future in the world of motorcycle racing seem to outline more and more a puzzle probably destined to unravel only after races that precede the summer break of the world championship.

Even the last race held on the Sachsenring circuit did not bring significant improvements in performance, with Valentino always fighting for the lower middle positions of the standings.

At this point, the paths that the Italian champion seems to be able to take are basically two: continue to grit his teeth race by race, completing the 2021 season, or follow up on the rumors of a possible retirement already during this summer, thus setting a sudden end to one of the most glorious careers in the history of motorcycling.

The news spread thanks to the stories published on Instagram by Rossi’s partner, the Italian model Francesca Novello, who shared some shots with her beloved Valentino and some couple friends.

Thanks to the press journalists, it was then known that the chosen location to carry out, we hope the first of a long series of summer tours, has been the bay of Portonovo, an enchanting seaside resort located on the Italian Adriatic coast, just south of the city of Ancona.

Why Valentino Rossi bought the San Lorenzo SX88 yacht? 

As widely expected in recent months, the choice was for a model from the Italian company Sanlorenzo and precisely for the SX88 .

It is characterized by the wheelhouse positioned exclusively on the flybridge, leaving more space and more solutions to the main deck furnishings.

With a length of 26.7 meters and a width of 7.2, It is powered by 3 800 horsepower engines with a fuel tank of over 9,000 liters. In terms of fuel consumption, this yacht requires about 300 liters per hour, reaching a maximum speed of 23 knots.

The larger size of this model allows it to accommodate up to 8 guests and 3 crew members.

What is certain is the basic cost of this yacht model, between 4 and 5 million euros. However, some well-informed swear that with the customizations requested by Valentino Rossi , the final price could be close to 9 million.

The seven-time MotoGP world champion has explained that he is already working on remaining in a series he joined this year with the WRT Audi squad for an assault on both its Endurance and Sprint Cup legs.

“I think also next year I will race in this championship,” said Rossi, who called time on his bike racing career on the completion of the 2021 MotoGP season.

“This is the programme now, 90% it is like this — for sure I will race in this championship.”

Rossi, 43, did not elaborate on whether he is aiming to stay with WRT, which on Monday announced that it will be ending its partnership with Audi after 13 seasons at the end of this year.

The Belgian team was subsequently announced as BMW’s partner for its LMDh campaign in the World Endurance Championship in 2024 and seems certain to switch to the German manufacturer for its GT programmes in ’23.

WRT boss Vincent Vosse suggested there is a desire at the team to continue the relationship with Rossi into a second season.

“We have nothing fixed, but I think it works well between us. I don’t see why we should change anything,” he said.

Rossi re-iterated a desire to one day compete at the Le Mans 24 Hours, but explained that it is unlikely to happen in 2023.

“Right now I don’t think I will race at Le Mans next year, but it is not sure,” he said.

“I think it would be very interesting to drive this race one time: why not in the future?”

Rossi expressed satisfaction with his season so far aboard one of WRT’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs, but conceded that he still is going through a learning process in his first full campaign on four wheels.

“I’m quite happy - it is more or less what I expected because the level is very high and you have a lot of fast drivers,” he said.

“About the speed in the car, I am not so bad. For sure, I need to improve, and with more kilometres through the season I need to understand how to drive the car in a better way.”

He added that he is also still learning about the intricacies of car racing and the GTWCE.

“I need to work hard, because a lot of things are new to me, the strategy, the pitstops and all the rules that are quite strict,” he explained.

Rossi has scored a best result of fifth place in both the Endurance and Sprint Cup legs of the GTWCE this year.

He was fifth in the six-hour Paul Ricard enduro in June together with Frederic Vervisch and Nico Muller and then repeated that result together with Vervisch in the second of the two one-hour sprint races at Misano earlier this month.

Valentino Rossi confirmed for 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour

Valentino Rossi is confirmed to be entering the 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour and Dubai 24 Hour GT3 endurance races in early 2023.

Valentino Rossi is set to compete in the Bathurst 12 Hour and Dubai 24 Hour endurance races next year, as his GT3 racing career continues. 

The Bathurst 12 Hour is one of the most famous and prestigious endurance races in the world, as the best GT3 drivers from around the world come together in Australia to face one of the most demanding circuits in the world.

Having competed in only a few GT3 races, even after his first full season GT World Challenge Europe competition, calling Valentino Rossi one of the best GT3 drivers in the world would be a stretch. However, his first full campaign on four wheels produced some promising moments, and his speed and pace improved throughout the season.

Rossi's appearance in the Bathurst would be set to be his competitive debut for BMW  - which he has joined for 2023 after the WRT team he has driven for since last season chose to end their decade-long relationship with Audi thanks to the opportunity to run BMW’s LMDh prototype programme - but for an appearance at another well-established endurance race over the winter.

Such appearances will be also an opportunity for Rossi to get up to speed before the start of the GTWC Europe season at the end of April in Monza. He will not be unique in this, of course, as the aforementioned popularity of the Bathurst 12 Hour, as well as the Dubai 24, among the top GT drivers guarantees many of Rossi’s European rivals will also be present in both races.

Rossi has also made clear his desire to race in the US, where of course there are such landmark endurance races as the Sebring 12 Hour and Daytona 24 Hour, should an opportunity present itself. As well as those, and after completing the Spa 24 Hour last year, Rossi is surely eyeing a possible Le Mans 24 Hour drive for the future, and the World Endurance Championship’s move away from GTE to GT3 cars for its production-derivative class only amplifies that possibility.

Valentino Rossi To Test Le Mans Prototype As WEC Rookie

Four wheels is still a multiple of two, right.

When it comes to Valentino Rossi, there are a couple of different types of fans. There are, of course, the folks who are super-mega-extra-serious motorcycle racing fans, of the type who rightfully revere the seven-time MotoGP World Champion for everything he accomplished in the sport. And then there are the fans who are more serious about Rossi the Racer than they are about which series he’s racing in.

Without a doubt, one of Rossi’s not-so-hidden talents is his undeniable charisma. Some professional athletes have it, and some don’t. Luckily for Rossi, he’s one of the former—and he has the die-hard fans who’ll follow him to the ends of the earth to prove it. 

If you’re the type of fan of The Doctor who’s not so hung up on the number of wheels that are on his chosen racing vehicle, then you’ll be interested to know that he’s about to throw his hat into yet another rookie racing field. On Sunday, November 5, 2023, he’ll be taking part in the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) Rookie Test.  

VR46 Forever:

He’ll be driving a Le Mans Prototype car—more specifically, a car in the LMP2 category. According to current FIA WEC regulations, LMP2 cars are closed cockpit cars with no production minimums required. There are currently two LMP classes, one and two—with one being for manufacturers and two being for independent teams that aren’t manufacturers or engine suppliers. 

More specifically, Rossi will be driving an Oreca 07 with a 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that makes about 540 horsepower. He’ll be driving this car for Team WRT, which isn’t terribly surprising since he’s been driving Team WRT’s BMW M4 GT3 car in the 2023 Fanatec GT Endurance Cup and Fanatec GT Sprint Cup.  

“I'm very happy to be trying the LMP2 for the first time! It's a great opportunity from Team WRT, because we have plans for me to test the BMW Hypercar in the future. So, before testing that, I think it's good experience to try the LMP2 as it's similar in terms of downforce and I'm curious to understand my potential,” Rossi said in a statement. 

“I'm also looking forward to being in Bahrain to watch the final race of the season, and as I'm hoping to race in the WEC in the future, it will be good to understand the atmosphere and the structure of the event,” he concluded. 

It’s worth noting at this point that the WEC will be discontinuing the use of LMP2-class cars in most of its races in 2024. They’ll be allowed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but that’s it. However, Speedweek notes that Team WRT is hoping to run two of its BMW M4 GT3 cars in the new GT3 class that will be participating in the WEC next year—so that could be something for Rossi fans to keep an eye on.

A wedding on a mega yacht ? Sounds about right for “You Got It” singer and songwriter Vedo and his CEO bride, Shanice , also a singer-songwriter. But long before they said “I do” in grand fashion on a holiday all about love, the two were meeting as young dreamers in 2011. They encountered one another at a music event and had a brief conversation, but didn’t end up exchanging numbers. That should have been it. But as fate would have it, they ran into each other again at another event a short time later, and took it as a sign from the universe that they needed to get to know each other better. They’ve been inseparable ever since.

“I knew Vedo was the one instantly,” Shanice tells ESSENCE. “He treated me like a lady at such a young age. I was very impressed. He stimulated me mentally. He was so gentle, respectful, and accepted me and my family although we aren’t perfect.”

Vedo wasn’t looking for his person at that time, but he knew he’d found her when he got to know Shanice.

“I honestly didn’t know what to look for in a person who could possibly be ‘the one.’ I just knew she treated me differently from any other woman,” he recalls fondly. “She was sweet but feisty. She was stern but would bend her rules for me. She loved family, she loved my family. She was an entrepreneur at a young age, so she had drive, goals, long term and short term. She was just an overall dope person. I knew a long time ago. She knew what she deserved and until I was able to provide that, I dared not. Now we are here.”

The crooner, a consummate performer who finished in the top 12 during Season 4 of The Voice (he was on Team Usher and recently flexed his talents with the legend during his NPR Tiny Desk Concert ), asked for Shanice’s hand in the only way he knows how — in front of an audience. He proposed at the grand opening of her beauty spa Solé Aesthetics in Atlanta.

“He got me good,” she says. “I was so caught up on planning the grand opening that it was so unexpected when he popped the question.”

From there, the couple planned the ultimate celebration, opting to tie the knot on the day of love, Feb. 14, 2024, on a mega yacht in Miami that they decked out in red and white florals and matching decor. The couple exchanged vows in front of some high-profile guests, all dressed in white, on the waters of Magic City. “We go all out for our birthdays, vacations, our friends, why not go all the way and do it big for our wedding day?” Shanice asks.

And with three outfit changes for the bride (and a major hair switch), a few big performances and 150 guests celebrating with them, “big” is the right word for their magical moment.

For the couple’s ceremony, they asked that guests not use it as an opportunity to be amateur photographers, and instead, be “fully present” for their special moment. It was an unplugged wedding but phones were allowed at the reception and right after the pair said “I do.”

A super cute detail for the couple’s big day was presenting seating arrangements through golden ribbon microphones. Seating info was found right under the head of the vintage mics.

Vedo certainly made a grand entrance for the ceremony…

…but he couldn’t beat his bride! All eyes were on Shanice as she made her way down the aisle.

No one was more touched by Shanice’s beautiful entrance than her husband-to-be. “She looked beautiful, she looked happy, she looked free, and she looked at ease,” he tells us. “Those are some of the feelings that I want her to feel forever.”

The ceremony was officiated by another talented singer, gospel great Smokie Norful.

The couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife, or Mr. and Mrs. McCoy, after saying “I do.”

The space where the dinner part of the reception was held within the Seafair was decked out in the color scheme of red and white (with some pink, too). “It was only right on Valentine’s Day. It represents romance, passion and fire, of which we exude them all,” Shanice says.

While outfit changes are common, it’s not as common to see a bride change their hairstyle on their big day. Call Shanice a trendsetter. “The hair was definitely a wow factor for everyone,” she says of heading into the reception post-ceremony and portraits with big curls after starting the day with a pixie-esque cut. “I love a good switch-up, and besides that, I absolutely love drama!”

To match the drama of her second hairstyle, Shanice and her hubby changed out of their ceremony garb and went with a red hot look, complete with shades, to party.

There were a few stars in attendance for Vedo and Shanice’s big day (including Toya Johnson-Rushing and her husband Red), including fellow crooner Eric Bellinger and his wife, La’Myia Good. Eric performed with Vedo later in the night.

It was only right that Vedo sing on his own wedding day. He specifically sang to his bride at the reeption.

Shanice is quite the performer herself. She proved that when she changed, for a third time, to put on a show for her husband, supported by backup dancers.

All were pleased with Shanice’s performance, none more than Vedo, who got a front-row seat to the display.

The ladies in red, and the bride in white, looked elegant against the night sky as they posed for portraits following the ceremony.

All of the very special people who provided extra special support to the bride and groom on their special day posed together ahead of the reception fun.

When it comes to their favorite moments from the day, for Vedo, it was “Me putting on that ring, saying my vows and making this union official under God.” For Shanice, it was also the ceremony. After a lot of planning and preparation, it was the official start to a new chapter in her life with Vedo. “The ceremony was on my mind the entire day. When it finally was done I felt so damn good,” she says. “I was ready to take on the rest of the night as a new wife!”

Refuelling underway at Russia’s floating NPP

The fresh fuel cassettes were delivered to Pevek by in special shipping containers along the Northern Sea Route in October by Rosatom’s fuel company TVEL and were immediately transferred aboard the FNPP. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov, is the Mashinostroitelny Zavod (MSZ - part of TVEL) in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The loading of fresh fuel cassettes is being carried out into the reactor on the starboard side of the FNPP. Refuelling of the second reactor is planned for 2024. “When carrying out work to transship the nuclear fuel, all necessary measures were taken to meet radiation safety requirements,” said Alexey Fedotov, chief engineer at PATEC. “Before loading them into the reactor, each of the 121 fuel assemblies passed strict acceptance control. After a thorough check by specialists, all assemblies are sequentially placed in the reactor using automated crane equipment.” The reloading operation is planned to be completed before the end of this year. Maxim Shamambaev, the head of nuclear safety for the FNPP, said the radiation background in the region did not change during the work and remained at the natural background level for Pevek.

The installation of the FNPP in Chukotka aimed to solve two key problems. First it was to replace the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which began operating in1974, as well as the Chaunskaya thermal power plant, which is already more than 70 years old. Second, it was to supply energy to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka - a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimskaya ore zone.

By the end of 2023, power generation to Pevek from the FNPP since it began operation in 2020 will total 200 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000.

Da quando la prima classe non è più una cilindrata ed è diventata MotoGP solo due piloti erano stati capaci di ripetersi: Valentino Rossi e Marc Marquez. Ed è questo il punto. Che a ben pensarci, non è dal 1° febbraio, il giorno in cui la Ferrari ha annunciato Lewis Hamilton, che il mondo del motorsport sembra esser diventato una specie di metaverso: è dallo scorso 4 ottobre, quando s’è saputo che Marquez avrebbe abbandonato la Honda . Ne avrebbe tutto il diritto, per come ha tenuto aperto il campionato 2023 appunto fino all’ultima corsa di stagione e per come, dal Sachsenring e poi ancora da Misano in avanti, ha rosicchiato vantaggio e sicurezze a Re Pecco. Tanto più che nella rincorsa che idealmente va a ricominciare Jorge avrà a disposizione dalla Pramac una Desmosedici GP24 identica a quella di Bagnaia. E non c’è solo lui ad avere le sue belle aspirazioni. Nessun pilota tra test e presentazioni dei team ha mancato di sottolineare che ad ogni GP saranno almeno una decina i pretendenti alla vittoria. Altro che monopolio verstappeniano della F1. E non è detto che Marquez sia sempre della schiera.

Bastianini alla Gazzetta ha detto: "Non so se lotterà per il titolo, ma per i primi tre posti sì". Le ragioni sono due: la sua marchiata Gresini sarà una Ducati del 2023, e lui, come da sua stessa ammissione in una chiacchierata con Pecco catturata in pista, la sta ancora guidando un po’ troppo come se fosse una Honda. Ma stiamo parlando di Marquez, non tarderà a tirarci fuori il meglio possibile, forse persino di più. Ed è esattamente per questo che il vero, grande confronto, è quello che Pecco avrà con lui. Persino se la classifica dirà qualcosa di diverso. Perché Marc rappresenta un’epoca. È il simbolo degli anni 10 del XXI. Anche se dovesse ritirarsi oggi, prima di cominciare il suo 17° Mondiale (12° in MotoGP), sarebbe nell’olimpo dei più grandi di sempre. In un solo concetto: Marquez è quel che Bagnaia aspira a essere. Come è normale e giusto dal momento in cui, a differenza dell’evanescente Joan Mir e dell’amico Fabio Quartararo inciampato su una Yamaha sempre meno competitiva, lui è riuscito a ripetersi. Pecco sa che adesso c’è molto di più di un campionato da decidere. Perché di lui qualcuno dice che vince grazie alla moto migliore, come se la medesima Ducati non fosse anche sotto il sedere di altri tre suoi compagni-avversari.

Ecco, adesso lo stesso mezzo, solo appena appena meno ammodernato, ce l’ha anche il pilota che da più di un decennio definiamo il migliore. Uno che dopodomani, quando partirà per la Sprint, saranno 867 giorni che non vince. Che negli ultimi tre anni ha avuto più interventi chirurgici che vittorie. Che ha una voglia esagerata di far vedere al mondo di essere il demonio di sempre. Che vuole diventare come Geoff Duke, come Giacomo Agostini, come Eddie Lawson, come Casey Stoner , come il suo specchio e suo nemico Valentino Rossi. Quelli cioè che il Mondiale sono stati capaci di vincerlo con due moto diverse. Marquez, per diventare Marquez, ha preteso di non far più scrivere il nome “Valentino Rossi” sull’albo d’oro. Adesso è il momento di Pecco, che di Vale si sente figlioccio prediletto.

More specifically, the Russian boating market holds a great potential for the Ferretti Group’s development because of the rapid growth of average wealth among the population and an increasing interest for Made in Italy luxury goods, like Ferretti Group yachts.
