Elite Sailing is an accredited RYA training centre that provides Professional and Leisure sail and power qualifications for every level, from complete beginners to the experienced. We offer regular courses and mile builder opportunities for the active enthusiast.

We are based in Chatham, under an hour from central London.

We offer Skipper training from RYA Day Skipper to RYA Yachtmaster Coastal, Offshore and Ocean, plus Adventure sailing holidays all around Britain and NW Europe that deliver exciting opportunities, fabulous experiences, great camaraderie, and friendships along the journey.

Guardian Marine Training Services Ltd has been in the forefront of RYA Powerboat and PWC training for many years. In November 2022 the company was brought into new ownership, proudly keeping the original Guardian brand and RYA recognition while being managed and operated side by side with Elite Sailing.

We offer the full range of RYA Powerboat courses including PB1, PB2, Intermediate and Advanced Powerboat including the CoC Exam Prep. Mote Park Watersports Centre is an RYA Recognised Training Centre offering a huge variety of sailing activities. Mote Park Watersports Centre is also an RYA Onboard Club for sailing and a Sailability centre offering sailing sessions for disabled sailing. 

Our sailing fleet is made up of fantastic Laser Performance boats, and we have a boat for every occasion. Ranging from single handers so you can practise on your own, double handers which are great for a family day out as well as Catamarans for that burst of speed!

Maidstone Sailing Club members sail for £5 at other times of the week when Mote Park Watersports Centre is open (this is only with Maidstone Sailing Club fees paid for that year).

Come and have a go in a one hour beginners session with a RYA Instructor.

RYA Adult Sailing Level 1 - Youth Sailing Stage 1 - Youth Sailing Stage 2

An introduction to sailing where you will learn all the basics you will need to know to get yourself afloat under supervision.

RYA Adult Sailing Level 2 - Youth Sailing Stage 3 - Youth Sailing Stage 4

Advancing and developing the skills you learned in Level 1 to make you a more all-rounded and efficient sailor.

RYA Sailing Level 3

Taking all you have learned in sailing and applying it on the water to make you the best sailor possible in high wind conditions.

RYA Seamanship Skills

How to handle a boat in all circumstances and solve problems afloat.

RYA Start Racing

The fundamentals of getting off the start line and round the course.

RYA Assistant Instructor Training

The AI is a competent small boat sailor who has been trained to assist instructors in teaching sailing up to the standard of the Level 2 or Stage 3 courses. They must work under the supervision of an RYA senior instructor (SI) or the chief instructor of a keelboat training centre. As the AI’s training is limited to assisting qualified instructors and does not include first aid or powerboat handling, AIs must never be allowed to work without direct supervision.

Instructor Qualifications: RYA Senior Instructor, RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Assistant Instructor. First Aid Trained. DBS checked. Fully Insured.

Minimum Duration: 1 hour taster sessions up to a full day course

The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.

This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.

A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.

It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.

The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.

Special guest Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group president, opened the evening.

Next year organizers assured guests they would bring more yachts, the scale of which will even make oligarch Roman Abramovich envious. Sounds very promising indeed.
