The region has a large selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and housing, but the beaches are worse than the Budva Riviera and there is no special entertainment program for children.

The Ulcinj Riviera region attracts tourists with a wide variety of beaches with clean sea water, beautiful nature and many attractions, including: the city-museum of Ulcinj, the Shatskoye lake reserve, Lake Gridsky, the island of Ada Bojana with its wonderful beaches and others. Among the water activities in The Ulcinj Riviera is popular for jet skiing, water skiing and catamarans, diving, snorkeling.

The climate of Montenegro is temperate continental, in the mountains - alpine, and on the coast - Mediterranean. Almost all beaches are in secluded bays, sheltered from the wind, their total length is about 73 km. The swimming season lasts from May to October, the same period is the best for visiting the country.

Montenegro – one of the youngest countries in the world – is located on the south-eastern Adriatic coast in the south of Europe. With 300 miles of coastline lots of picturesque and idyllic bays, beautiful pebble beaches and port towns with a medieval flair are at your feet.

Montenegro is considered as a secret among sailors and yacht charter fans, since the Balkan nation still is relatively undiscovered.

The so called “Black Mountains” – the translation of Montenegro – are a contrast to the shining sea, with the glistening light and yacht lovers should not miss that.

The central coastal towns for sailors are especially Tivat, Kotor, Budva and Bar. Tivat is located at the Bay of Kotor and describes itself as the place with the most sunshine hours. In addition to a harbour and a marina, there are two parks, where you can find many exotic plants. There is a reason, why this place, together with Herceg Novi, is called “City of Flowers”. The Bay of Kotor is surrounded by rugged cliffs with 28 kilometers of extension into the country. Here quiet sailing is possible because the strait is separated from the open sea. The longest fjord in southern Europe, the fascinating landscape, the steep and high mountains and the highly branched coastline are worth a visit.

A point of interest are the medieval walled town of Kotor, the picturesque town of Perast, the monastic island of Sveti Djorde with the cemetery island of Our Lady of the Rocks.

A memorable moment is offered before reaching the city of Risan, when you approach it after a downpour. From the limestone mountains then a 25 meter high waterfall crashes down.

In Budva and Bar there are other anchor and mooring facilities. Bar is a yacht center with several marinas. Budva is surrounded by some of the most fascinating and beautiful pebble beaches of Montenegro.

Compared to sailboats, motor yachts have a shallower draft, which allows them to enter smaller and shallower inlets. They are also simpler to navigate and don’t require you to have special knowledge and experience. besides, they are comfortable, spacious, nicely furnished, well equipped, and more stabile than sailboats.

One of their key features is speed, so you can visit many places in little time; if you find yourself in a port you don’t particularly like, you can simply and quickly take yourself anywhere. Speedy drive gives you not only freedom of movement, but sense of excitement and pleasure as well. Driving a motor yacht is exciting, joyful and fun.

It is common practice that larger models are chartered with at least one crew member. They are very powerful and they are often difficult to control and navigate so it is important to have an experienced skipper who knows the ship as well as the sailing area. If the yacht is chartered with crew only, there is usually a separate crew cabin. However, if there is no such thing as crew cabin, when choosing a boat for charter keep in mind you need to reserve berths for skipper (and hostess) also.

There are also smaller motor yachts. They are not as comfortable as larger models, but that is also not their main purpose. They are made to take you quickly and easily to your destination.

Also, keep in mind that motor yachts use a lot more fuel than sailboats so you don’t get stuck somewhere at the open sea or surprised by the total amount it will cost you.
