The Grand Canal is omnipresent in Venice and can be seen in all three Bond films Venice has featured in. In a memorable scene in Casino Royale , James Bond ( Daniel Craig ) and Vesper Lynd ( Eva Green ) are sailing into Venice.

Vesper Lynd takes her position at the yacht’s helm, while Bond is composing a resignation letter on his laptop. As they navigate the majestic Grand Canal, Vesper spots Adolph Gettler, a nefarious Quantum agent, although watchers don’t realise the significance of this at the time. Once they moor they go and check into their hotel.

The Grand Canal boasts a rich history and is world-renowned for the centuries-old palaces that grace its banks. Most of these architectural marvels date back to the 13th through 18th centuries, reflecting the prosperity of Venetian families during the Venetian Republic’s heyday.

There are multiples of elegant bridges that span the Grand Canal’s depths such as the Rialto Bridge. And of course its role in connecting the city’s top attractions, and the quintessential gondola rides that offer visitors a unique vantage point to take in the captivating sights.

St. Marks Square

St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) is the main public square in this majestical city and it featured heavily in Moonraker . James Bond is taking a relaxing gondola ride before he’s attacked, then all of sudden, his gondola converts into a power boat.

As he makes it to St. Mark’s Square, his gondola then converts into a land-capable hovercraft, and Bond enters St. Mark’s Square from the waterway via the adjacent Piazzetta di San Marco, scattering both people and pigeons as he speeds across the historic plaza with many of the onlookers looking perplexed at what’s going on.

The filming of the scene wasn’t easy. Gondolas aren’t designed to move through the water quickly, and getting from the canal to land, Roger Moore apparently fell into the water five times before capturing the scene.

The square couldn’t be fully closed either, so many tourists there are unassuming extras. This unexpected mix of real-life tourists and movie magic lent an authentic, lively atmosphere to the unforgettable, and let’s be honest: ridiculous scene.

St. Mark’s Square is a focal point of the city’s cultural and architectural heritage. Flanked by the Piazzetta di San Marco and the waterway on one side, the square is anchored by the magnificent St. Mark’s Basilica and the adjacent St. Mark’s Campanile on the other. The bell tower, standing tall at nearly 100 meters (328 feet), offers breathtaking views of the city and lagoon below.

In the last moments of From Russia With Love , James Bond and Tatiana Romanova navigate the picturesque canals of Venice in a taxi boat, having just seen off Rosa Klebb and her dagger shoe in their hotel room. Their journey takes them along the Rio di Palazzo canal, under the iconic Bridge of Sighs.

As they glide along the Rio di Palazzo, Bond takes out the reel of film of them two making love in their hotel room in Istanbul , and drops it into the canal. They pass beneath another bridge where two tourists happen to be capturing footage of their journey. This is a popular vantage point that offers a stunning view of the Bridge of Sighs.

The Bridge of Sighs is a historic and architecturally distinct structure. It connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) with the interrogation rooms of the Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale). Constructed between 1600 and 1603, the bridge was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle, Antonio da Ponte, designed the renowned Rialto Bridge in Venice.

It gets its name as its the last glimpse of Venice’s beauty convicts would see on their way to incarceration. The view from the bridge was thought to elicit sighs from the prisoners, hence the name “Bridge of Sighs.”

In Bond 21 , Casino Royale , as Bond’s sailboat glides through Venice, it traverses the Grand Canal, journeying from the Accademia area under the famous Rialto Bridge and to the vibrant Rialto Fish Market.

A must-see destination for visitors, Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto) allows visitors to immerse themselves in the city’s rich history and architectural beauty. Completed in 1591 and designed by Antonio da Ponte, this iconic stone bridge gracefully spans the Grand Canal, offering picturesque views of the bustling waterway and the city’s striking architecture.

In Casino Royale , Vesper Lynd leaves Bond in the hotel to go and secretly meet Quantum agent Adolph Gettler. The meeting takes place in the courtyard of the stunning Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music.

The Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice is one of the most historically significant conservatories in Europe. It’s situated in the grand Palazzo Pisani, just a stone’s throw away from both Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge.

The palace boasts an array of frescoes, statues, stuccos, and friezes, lending an air of elegance and grandeur to the space. The conservatory features two internal courtyards, separated by varying levels of loggias and expansive halls, including the striking Concert Hall, which is surrounded by columns and crowned with a high balcony encircling its entire perimeter.

In the film, the palace appears to collapse into the water, but of course this is a cinematic illusion, as the building still stands proudly in Campo Santo Stefano, which isn’t actually near the Rialto Fish Market as depicted in the film.

The collapsing palazzo scene was actually a recreation of a building on Venice’s Grande Canal, opposite the Rialto vegetable market, and was constructed at the Pinewood studio for filming purposes.

‘Casino Royale’ in Venice

James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) sailed to Venice in Italy. While Vesper was standing at the helm of a yacht, Bond was writing a resignation letter on his laptop. As they were sailing along the Grand Canal, Vesper noticed Adolph Gettler (Richard Sammel), who was the Quantum agent. 007 and the girl stayed in a hotel located at Saint Mark’s Square.

Seen in the film 54 foot yacht named ‘Spirit’, was built by Spirit Yachts Ltd in Suffolk, UK. It was the first sailing yacht to go up the Grand Canal in Venice in 300 years.

When Bond and Vesper were approaching Venice, most famous buildings in the city were seen in background. There was tower of San Giorgio Maggiore on the left, Saint Mark’s campanile on the right and Santa Maria della Salute in the middle (all of them in photos below).

It is not necessary to buy a boat to see the view that was in front of Bond and Vesper. One of the possibilities it to take a Vaporetto to Sant’Elena. Not many tourists go that far, therefore it is a very peacefull an quiet place. As you can see in photos below, while watching the view you can relax on a bench in a park or use outdoor gym.

When James Bond was writing the resignation letter, there was Santa Maria della Salute Basilica visible in background (photo below). On his laptop monitor you could see his e-mail inbox with fictitious email addresses of film crew members: Anne Bennet (Publicity and Marketing) – [email protected], Chris McBride (Computer & Video Supervisor) – [email protected], Neil Pinkawa (lead screen graphics artist) and David Hicks (lead motion graphics designer).

When Vesper left the hotel room, M called and asked 007 about the money that he won in Casino Royale. Bond immediately called the Swiss banker and got information that while they were talking someone was withdrawing the money in a bank located at Saint Mark’s Square in Venice. James Bond guessed that it was Vesper who stole the money and ran after her.

The hotel where Bond and Vesper stayed didn’t exist. Scenes in the hotel lobby were filmed at the Czech National Museum in Prague.

Film crew was working in Venice in June 2006. Because of about 400 extras and big number of tourists around it was very difficult to film the scene with Bond running around the Saint Mark’s Square. The bank was located in Saint Mark’s Square corner, from which the photo presented below was taken. In the film you could see ‘Basel Bank’ sign above the door. In reality there was ‘BANCA COMMERCIALE ITALIANA’ sign instead. Read more in: James Bond at St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy .

James Bond tried to find Vesper under arcades that you can see in photo below. Finally he saw her walking on the bridge located at Sotoportego del Cavalletton street. The entrance to that street from Saint Mark’s Square is located behind fifth arch from the right in photo below.

In the next scene Eva Green who played Vesper was walking alone on Ponte del Malpaga bridge (see photo below). Daniel Craig was looking at her from the bridge connecting Fondamenta Toletta and Calle Lotto from which the photo was taken.

Bond followed Vesper down the Sotoportego de le Colonne. As she passed over the Ponte de le Colonne bridge she looked back, but she couldn’t see 007 who was hidden in the shadows.

Next photo was taken from the bridge towards the shadows where 007 was hidden.

Finally Vesper came to the courtyard where she met Gettler. The villain saw James Bond hiding behind the column and took Vesper hostage. Gettler’s men tried to shoot 007.

The sequence was filmed in the courtyard of Conservatorio di musica Benedetto Marcello, that was also ‘Moonraker’ filming location (read more:  ‘Moonraker’ in Venice ). Main entrance to the building was located at Campiello Pisani, however Vesper entered the side door, which is visible in the photo below.

She turned left and passed through the doors (that are closed in photo below) to the courtyard.

Next photo was taken from the courtyard. Vesper came out from behind the columns. Later James Bond was hiding behind these columns when Gettler’s men tried to shoot him.

On the right in photo below you can see the column where 007 was hiding when Vesper was talking to Gettler. On the left there is a sculpture that was seen behind Daniel Craig’s head.

Next photo of the courtyard was taken from Bond’s hide behind the column. Vesper and Gettler were standing in the middle of the courtyard. Gettler’s men were shooting from windows above the entrance to the courtyard located in the center of the photo.

When they started shooting, James Bond was running behind columns visible in the middle of the photo below.

James Bond pursued Gettler and Vesper into a building under renovation. During the fight the building started to sink.

The sequence with the building collapsing into the Grand Canal was filmed in Pinewood studio, however buildings around were all real and shot on location. Collapsing building was digitally inserted and replaced Lion Morosini Palace (second from right in photo below).

In the studio the 1/3-scale miniature of the building was built for exterior shots. It had more than 100 different parts designed to fall off.

The inside of the sinking house was built on a special rig that measured 45 foot by 40 foot and was 45 foot high.

The scene with people looking at sinking building was filmed at Campo Erberia (photo below).

After Vesper’s death James Bond was sitting on the yacht’s deck and talking on the phone with M. The scene was filmed at Santi Cosma e Damiano church. Behind 007 the dome of Santa Maria della Salute (in photo below) was visible.

Who can forget Roger Moore’s comedic rendition of James Bond flying the Glastron speedboat in Live and Let Die ? Or the gorgeous Sunseeker Sovereign 17 in Quantum of Solace , starring the British actor with the bluest eyes, Daniel Craig?

James Bond boats are a key feature of every film they appear in. Sleek, classy, powerful and smart, just like everybody’s favourite British secret agent, these vessels have at times stolen the show, even from 007 himself.

Fairey Huntress and Fairey Huntsman in From Russia With Love (1963)

It all began with a young Sean Connery heading to Venice, accompanied by Tatiana Romanova, four spare fuel barrels and a flare gun. When the baddies track him down, 007’s explosive escape is as spectacular as it is predictable.

The producers clearly loved Fairey so much that they couldn’t pick just one model for Bond to drive – the exterior shots show a Huntress, but the interiors are from the Huntsman model. Meanwhile, the Venice boat chase was actually shot in Scotland.

Disco Volante in Thunderball (1965)

The fictional Disco Volante that appeared in 1965’s Thunderball had quite the starring role. Owned by villain Emilio Largo, the hydrofoil boat was purchased with SPECTRE funds to carry two nuclear weapons. It cost the global terrorist organisation £250,000, which equates to roughly £4.3million in today’s money.

The vessel is destroyed following a battle between Largo and Bond. With nobody at the helm, it runs aground and bursts into flames.

Bond production designer Sir Ken Adam stipulated that Disco Volante had to be 160ft long and capable of 50 knots. No such boat existed, so they created one that shed its aft accommodation section before rising onto hydrofoils to outrun pursuing navy ships.

Glaston GT-150 in Live and Let Die (1974)

Possibly the most famous Bond boat ever, this 135hp Glastron performed a spectacular leap over two cars and a baffled Louisiana sheriff in Bayou Des Allemands.

The helm position, normally offset to one side to allow a passenger, was centrally mounted, and underneath the boat were small black skids designed to keep the boat level on terra firma.

A grand total of 26 Glastron boats were used in the filming of Live and Let Die , 17 of which were wrecked. But it was worth it, with an iconic movie moment in the can and a new world record for the biggest boat jump – a staggering 120ft!

As an interesting post-script, Roger Moore, who learned to helm a boat specifically so that he could be filmed in the chase, clearly got a taste for boating and in retirement kept one close to his private villa in Cap d’Antibes.

Lotus Esprit S1 submarine in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

There is a more conventional motorboat in The Spy Who Loved Me (an Intermarine 40 was used to shuttle Bond out to meet the villain at his offshore lair) but the one everyone remembers is the amphibious Lotus personal submarine.

Fitted with fins, front-mounted rocket launchers, mines, a periscope, a smoke screen and a surface-to-air missile, it cost a reported $100,000 for Eon Productions to adapt the Esprit S1 roadcar into one of Bond’s most spectacular vehicles, lovingly known as Wet Nellie .

Glastron CV23HT in Moonraker (1979)

With all the ridiculousness of its extra-terrestrial finale, it’s easy to forget that Moonraker also features a fantastic Amazon boat chase.

Roger Moore’s silver Glastron Carlson CV23HT fends off Jaws’ henchmen by deploying homing missiles, and the big man himself is foiled when Bond makes a spectacular escape over the Iguazu falls. Wings pop out of the roof, allowing Bond to fly off as the baddies speed off the edge.

This hard top model was available to buy in a super-rare limited edition of just 300, but sadly they all came with that sparkly metal flake paint job.

Nabila in Never Say Never Again (1983)

Never Say Never Again put villain Maximillian Largo aboard The Flying Saucer once again. This time it was the turn of the Benetti superyacht Nabila , built for Saudi billionaire Adnan Khashoggi and later sold to Donald Trump, to take centre stage.

At 86m long, this can lay claim to being the largest James Bond boat so far by quite some distance, and at the time of filming it held the honour of being the world’s largest private yacht.

Sunseeker Superhawk 34 in The World is Not Enough (1999)

In what is perhaps the most famous James Bond boat chase scene, a hair-raising race along the Thames provides a blockbuster opening to Pierce Brosnan’s second outing as 007.

Stealing Q’s retirement boat and bursting out of MI6, Bond jets through London (quite literally) and catches up with the mysterious assassin in the shadow of the Millenium Dome, after a highly implausible shortcut through the Docklands.

This time we prefer the villain’s choice of boat – a super-sleek Sunseeker Superhawk 34 that appears to be able to drive itself at times. Powerboat racer Sarah Donohue was the stunt double for Giulietta da Vinci in the scene and got the chance to show off her impressive helming skills.

Spirit 54 Soufrière in Casino Royale (2006)

The Bond reboot in 2006 coincided with the appearance of James Bond’s first proper sailing yacht.

British yard Spirit Yachts got the gig, providing the Spirit 54 Soufrière that 007 and Vesper Lynd sailed up the Grand Canal of Venice.

“Probably the most challenging voyage for Soufrière came during filming in Venice when we had to take the rig in and out ten times,” Spirit Yachts CEO and head designer Sean McMillan revealed in 2016. “She was the first sailing yacht to go up the Grand Canal for 300 years.”

Venice was just one stop on her exhaustive filming schedule though. Soufrière was shipped to the Bahamas, sailed to Puerto Rico and through the British Virgin Islands to Tortola Harbour, before being shipped to Croatia.

An honourable mention should also go to the Sunseeker Predator 108 that serves as Le Chiffre’s floating lair.

Sunseeker Sovereign 17 in Quantum of Solace (2008)

2008’s Quantum saw Bond go Sunseeker crazy, with a Sunseeker 37M Yacht, an XS2000 and a Superhawk 43 all featuring.

However, it was the vintage 1970 Sunseeker Sovereign 17 that stole the show, with Sunseeker founder Robert Braithwaite at the helm as 007 was skippered across a lake.

There’s further boating action when Bond steals a wooden fishing boat to escape the gun-toting villains giving chase in a RIB.

The spectacular chase scene that follows is courtesy of a secret stunt driver, who was hidden in the bow end of the indigenous vessel.

Pruva Regina in Skyfall (2012)

Pruva Yachting supplied the 56m sailing superyacht for Bond and Severine’s voyage to Silva’s Hashima island hideaway. Referred to as Chimera in the film, the schooner-rigged yacht was launched in Turkey the year before for 28-year-old Pruva vice-chairman Dogukan Boyaci.

For this reason all the scenes were actually shot off the coast of Bodrum, apart from Bond and Severine’s steamy shower encounter, which was done in a studio as the yacht’s shower wasn’t large enough. Pruva Regina , as the yacht was known in real life, has since been sold and renamed Aria I .

Spirit 46 in No Time To Die (2021)

Craig’s final outing as Bond saw him sail a Spirit yacht once more, this time while enjoying his retirement in Jamaica.

It was the Spirit 46 that was chosen for the big screen treatment, however, this wasn’t the only boat involved in the film, with a Royal Navy Destroyer playing a crucial role in the shocking finale.

Hidden Corners of Piazza San Marco

Italy – venice, piazza san marco & torre dell’orologio & sotoportego del cavaletto & calle barcaroli & venini glass // moonraker (1979) & casino royale (2006).

Piazza San Marco is the cultural and touristic heart of Venice. And it is full of famous (and hidden) James Bond movie locations. Let us guide you through all the right places.

Why Bond was here In “Moonraker” , Bond (Roger Moore) is in pursuit of French megalomaniac Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale) and follows him to Venice in  Italy . Drax wants to kill all mankind and repopulate a “master race” in space. For this, Drax needs a lot of glass. Bond pays a visit to Drax’ partner: famous Venice glass maker “Venini” at their flagship store at Piazza San Marco. Later on, he even drives his custom-made “Bondola” around the square.

James Bond revisits Venice in “Casino Royale” . Now he (Daniel Craig) wants to spend some quality time with his lover Vesper (Eva Green) after a job well done. Problem is: The job isn’t done. Vesper betrays Bond and withdraws the money, 007 took away from Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). Bond discovers the backstabbing at a bank branch on Piazza San Marco and follows Vesper from the square into the maze of Venetian alleyways.

How you gonna get there There are numerous locations directly at and around Piazza San Marco. Some are famous landmarks, others are little lanes north of the square. But everything is in easy walking distance. Here is a full list:

• In “Moonraker” Bond arrives at Traghetto Gondola Mole , the gondola pier, next to Riva degli Schiavoni .
• Later in the movie, he reenters the square at the same spot with his hovercraft “Bondola”. He drives it along Palazzo Ducale and the Basilica di San Marco and turns left onto the main square.
• The Venini shop is at the adjoining Piazetta dei Leoncini in the north-east corner of Piazza San Marco. The lion statue and the shop front is still there, but Venini closed down shop in 2020 – after 98 years. Lucky you: Venini moves its shop to Murano Island and hides another famous Bond location right there.
• The museum fight with Drax’ henchman ends inside the famous Torre dell’Orologio – with Bond pushing the enemy out of the glass window.
• In “Casino Royale” Bond visits a (made up) branch of Basel Bank in the north-west corner of Piazza San Marco before finding Vesper in the crowd.
• He follows her through the passage at Sotoportego del Cavalletto , seeing Vesper standing on the Ponte del Cavalletto .
• Vesper then walks along Calle Barcaroli , disappearing into the dark Sotoportego de le Colonne .

Good to know Try to come as early as possible to Piazza San Marco to avoid the crowds. We even got up before sunrise one day to see the golden morning lights pour over the square and experience some quientness at the place. We heard nothing more than seagulls and the splashs by the moored gondolas. While most locations are original places, there is also a phony one: The Torre dell’Orologio. The blue clock face with the golden zodiacs is not made of glass, but of marble. So you wont be able to see the ornaments from the inside like the movie suggests. Bond fought inside a studio set and the film crew used their imagination to invent a more dramatic looking clock. You can visit the real Torre dell’Orologio though with a guided tour. Instead of a fancy clock face you learn about the history of the clock tower and see the huge clockwork mechanism.

In pictures: The Beauty of Piazza San Marco and Venice

When you are around, don’t miss Palazzo Ducale. The gothic palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice and is full of grandezza and mystery. Find beautiful paintings and secret doors, the council room overflowing with glamour and the passage to the neighboring jail – the famous Ponte dei Sospiri, Bond briefly visits in “From Russia With Love”. We recommend the Venice Museum Pass. The ticket lets you avoid waiting lines and includes other Bond locations like the Glass Museum and Ca’Rezzonico next to the Doge’s Palace.

You never know, where a Bond location leads you to. Sure, Piazza San Marco is famous. But Calle Barcaroli? It wouldn’t have been on our bucket list without Bond – but luckily we found a great mask shop there. “Venice Art” is one of the last places in the city, that offers the real paper mache masks handcrafted by artists. We looked and compared the shop with other ones for a whole week – just to finally return to Calle Barcaroli and buy our Venetian masks at the place, where we first saw them.

The latest partnership sees a Spirit 46 sailing yacht feature in  No Time To Die . In the film, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica where the Spirit 46 sailing yacht is featured.

Casino Royale features a memorable scene with James Bond and Vesper Lynd cruising into Venice onboard a Spirit 54 Yacht. Having been handcrafted by Spirit Yachts’ skilled team of boat-builders in Suffolk, the yacht (a 54 foot design named Spirit) was shipped to the Bahamas for filming. From there, Spirit Yachts sailed her to Puerto Rico and through the British Virgin Islands for filming. After shooting scenes in the Caribbean, the yacht was shipped to Croatia and sailed on to Venice. During filming in Venice, the yacht’s rig was taken in and out a total of 10 times to fit under multiple canal bridges. She was the first sailing yacht to go up the Grand Canal in 300 years.

The best James Bond Boats and Yachts (2024 update)

If you frequent the high seas, then you are certainly familiar with James Bond movies. After all, this iconic franchise has become synonymous with what it means to lead a life of luxury and danger. From speed boats to submarines and everywhere in between, Ian Fleming has given us some of the most memorable watercraft used by Bond himself throughout his adventures for more than 50 years now. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of the best James Bond boats and yachts that have been featured in recent 007 films – both large vessels like The World Is Not Enough’ super yacht as well as small ones such as Live And Let Die’s’ hydrofoil! So fasten your seat belts and get ready to explore these larger-than-life vessels from the world’s top spy!

From Russia With Love (1963)

One of the most memorable boat chases occurs in From Russia With Love . A young Sean Connery and Tatiana Romanova were traveling to Venice when the bad guys assaulted them. But Bond made a spectacular escape aboard a Fairey Huntress .

The speedboat is part of the Fairey Marine catalog. Created by English sailing enthusiasts, the company produced boats until the early 1980s. Its first motor cruiser appeared in the 1960s.

This James Bond boat sequence helps publicize the Fairey Huntress and the Fairey Huntsman motorboats. They became widely popular, and won multiple offshore races. They were the craft of choice for Royal Naval Skippers. 

Live and Let Die (1973)

The Glastron GT150 featured on Live and Let Die movie poster is crucial for the 007 boat history. Roger Moore drives the speedboat through Louisiana everglades and makes a 120ft leap over the pursuing Sheriff’s cars.

26 boats were used to create this iconic sequence, and 17 were destroyed during the shoot!

The Glastron GT 150 used to establish the world record was sold just after the shooting. It is now the property of the Ian Flemming Foundation, and it was part of James Bond’s vehicle exhibition in London.

For safety reasons, we don’t recommend these kinds of stunts with speedboats while you are on sailing vacations. But you can still experience high-speed sensation and jumps with water toys. Learn how to choose among them here!

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

In this Bond movie, the boat is, in reality, a Lotus Esprit. This beautiful white car is one of the best British sports cars of the 1970s. Q turned it in an incredible vehicle. It turns into a submarine to escape an attacking helicopter.

Filmed in the Bahamas (Nassau), the underwater scenes feature the extravagant vehicle that can fire torpedoes and anti-aircraft-missiles.

Golden Eyes (1995)

The Manticore yacht is the villain’s lair seen in GoldenEye . Most of the scenes were filmed in Monaco. The actual luxury yacht is the Northern Cross , a 142ft boat built in Sweden in 1991.

Designed by Tor Hinders and Per Kavli, the motorboat has a top speed of 24 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. The accommodation is designed to sleep up to 10 guests over five cabins.

The crew cabins accommodate up to 8 people. It was the property of a Finnish businessman before it was refurbished and sold for $7 million in 2006.

The World Is Not Enough (1999)

In the longest Bond pre-title sequence, Pierce Brosnan is chasing Giulietta da Vinci’s Sunseeker Superhawk 34 .

Driven down the Thames at 60mph, the motor yacht is wiped out by mini-torpedos. The Superhawk 34 used in The World is Not Enough was for sale in January 2012 for $150,000.

After this film, the collaboration between the film producers (EON Productions) and the boat company becomes more notable. 

Sunseeker is a major boat builder for the sports and leisure markets in the world. The James Bond franchise helped the British luxury brand to become an international icon.

Casino Royale (2006)

In the 2006 James Bond film, several luxury yachts appeared. Among them, there are the Sunseeker Predator 108 and Spirit 54.

The Sunseeker superyacht is the villain’s “floating lair.” It was filmed on location in the Bahamas. With over 100 feet long, the performance yacht has four cabins, one master suite, and it can accommodate up to eight guests.

Full-scale models of accommodation on board were built for the film studios in Prague.

The large-scale sets were mounted on a large hydraulic platform to simulate the movement of the sea during filming.

In 2017 the yacht was for sale at $4.2 million. 

Daniel Craig and Eva Green also sail casually into Venice on the elegant Spirit 54 . This classic British 54-foot yacht was handcrafted in Suffolk by S pirit Yachts . She sleeps up to six guests in two en suite double cabins.

It has to be shipped to Miami, then Barbados and Croatia before finally arriving in Venice. It is also the first sailing yacht to go up the Grand Canal in over 300 years.

After the shoot, the luxury boat was used for cruising and racing, mainly in the UK and Ireland.

Skyfall (2012) 

In SkyFall , Daniel Craig and Severine (Bérénice Marlohe) sail on the Pruva Regina yacht gliding through Turkey’s sapphire waters. 

The actual superyacht is a 183-ft schooner built in Turkey by Pruva Yachting in 2011.

Regina has a maximum speed of 12 knots, and she can accommodate 12 guests in two master suites, two double staterooms and two twin cabins plus nine crew.

This James Bond yacht was listed on sale in 2012 for $14 million.

Fun fact: the shower scene which is supposed to take place aboard, was filmed in room 712 of the Four Seasons Hotel at Canary Wharf in London.

No Time to Die (2021)

In No Time To Die, released in 2021, the 007 yacht is called Spirit 46. She is a very beautiful 14m sailing yacht that is initially designed for fast-pace racing. Clearly a true match for an adventurer such as James Bond.

When searching for a yacht to feature as Daniel Craig ’s transport of choice into Venice in the James Bond film Casino Royale the production company looked for a classic, British yacht oozing style and elegance. They settled on a 54 foot Spirit Yachts named ‘Spirit’.

Pick a James Bond title and chances are you’ll find a yacht of the same name: There’s a Goldfinger , Diamonds are Forever , The World is Not Enough , Octopussy , Quantum of Solace , Skyfall and more. In fact, ever since Denison built the 118.1-foot For Your Eyes Only in 1985 for John Staluppi, the American businessman has named his 22 yachts after 007 films.

If the movie titles are famous, the yachts are in a league of their own. The MI6 secret agent has chased bad guys on zippy go-fast boats, romanced Bond Girls on breezy sailing yachts and infiltrated villain’s lairs that masquerade as sleek pleasure yachts.

For some vessels, the big-screen appearance has boosted their charter credibility, while others have backstories straight out of a Hollywood script. A few have even become available on the brokerage market, offering buyers a chance to invest in a piece of 007 history.

Here are nine of the most recognizable.

‘Delos’ (ex ‘Aurora’) in ‘From Russia With Love’

As well as starring as Spectre headquarters in 1963’s From Russia with Love , which was Sean Connery’s second role as 007, the 293-foot Delos inspired, of all things, “The Love Boat,” according to current owner Christopher Wilson. After falling into a state of disrepair, the German-built cruise ship was snapped up by Wilson, a former tech-entrepreneur in 2008 when he found it listed for sale on Craigslist. Wilson is now 15 years into an extensive restoration project and hopes to convert the historic vessel into a museum and boutique hotel.

‘Kingdom 5KR’ (ex ‘Nabila’) in ‘Never Say Never Again’

Originally built for Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi by Benetti in 1980, Never Say Never Again ’s fictional MY Flying Saucer has a Hollywood backstory of its own. After its turn alongside Sean Connery in the 1983 movie, the Sultan of Brunei seized the boat and sold it to Donald Trump and it became Trump Princess . In 1991, another Saudi billionaire businessman, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, took ownership. He renamed it Kingdom 5KR and keeps the boat almost permanently based in Antibes on the Côte d’Azur.

‘Trafalgar’ (ex ‘Moonmaiden II’) in ‘The Living Daylights’

In the pre-title sequence of 1987’s The Living Daylights , Timothy Dalton smolders on-screen in his first outing as the gentlemen spy, quite literally, as he parachutes onto the aft deck of Moonmaiden II while on fire. Sure, there are easier ways to board a yacht, but when does 007 ever play it safe? Now known as Trafalgar , this classic canoe stern yacht from the 70s is currently looking for a new owner via Ocean Independence with an asking price of $2,500,000.

Glastron GT-150 in ‘Live and Let Die’

The 1972 Glastron GT-150 used in Roger Moore’s chase scene in Live and Let Die was probably 007’s most action-packed water run. It involved ten minutes of running at speed through the backwaters of the Louisiana Bayou, jumping bridges and eventually seeing Bond blowing up his nemesis’ boat, all in the name of Her Majesty. As it turns out, 26 Glastrons were used in the filming, and nine were GT-150s—presumably to replace ones that were trashed during the action scenes.

Riva Aquarama in ‘Goldeneye’

In 1995’s Goldeneye , Pierce Brosnan announced his arrival as 007 in typical Bond style as he sped out of Monaco’s Port Hercules on a stylish Riva Aquarama towards a tri-deck motoryacht at anchor. Cast for that part was the 142-foot Northern Cross , launched in 1991 from Sweden’s Marinteknik Verkstads. Fun fact: while Brosnan went on to appear in three more films, the glitzy Mediterranean principality hasn’t appeared in a Bond movie since.

‘Soufrière’ in ‘Casino Royale’

Casino Royale heralded the start of a new era for the film franchise. Not only was the 2006 release the first time Daniel Craig’s gritty portrayal of the character graced the screen, but the film also marked a transition away from white boats: who can forget that classic scene where Bond glided into Venice with Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) on the 54-foot Soufrière from British boatbuilder Spirit Yachts. The vessel is currently on the market with Berthon International for $534,000.

‘Casino Royale’ in ‘Casino Royale’

While Bond navigated the Grand Canal on Soufrière , nemesis Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) had set up a floating lair on a slick 108-foot Sunseeker Predator named Casino Royale . With top speeds of 45 knots, this sporty vessel is built for quick escapes — or, more realistically, nipping between Saint Tropez and Monaco for day trips during summer. A foredeck Jacuzzi and garage brimming with toys have made the boat a favorite. It is currently for charter by AeroVanti in Florida.

‘Aria 1’ (ex ‘Regina’) in ‘Skyfall’

Continuing his penchant for timeless sailing yachts, Craig sails towards near-certain death — yet again — with Severine (Bérénice Marlohe) in 2012’s Skyfall . The fictional Chimera was played by Regina , a 183.1-foot schooner built by Turkey’s Pruva in 2011. The gulet-style boat was a popular charter vessel until its sale in 2018. Under new ownership and now called Aria 1 , it is currently based in Greece.

Spirit 46 in ‘No Time to Die’

Like any experienced yacht owner, Craig’s 007 understands that, when you find a yacht builder you like, you stick with it. Trading up in 2021’s No Time to Die , Bond’s companion to his idyllic Caribbean retirement is a Spirit 46, again from Spirit Yachts. The love for Italy is notably something of the recent past. After all, in the first decennia of the series, James Bond has only been in Italy in 1963, 1977, 1979 and 1981. But with Daniel Craig, the country has come back into focus.

Craig’s Bond explored Italy in film number 21, 22, 24, and also the latest James Bond film (25) is located in Italy.

Bond has traveled to Cortina d’Ampezzo in “For Your Eyes Only”, Lake Como in “Casino Royale”, Lake Garda in “Quantum of Solace”, Venice in “From Russia with Love”, “Moonraker”, and “Casino Royale”. Sardinia greeted 007 in “The Spy Who Loved Me”.

• Actor : Roger Moore
• Year : 1981
• Why to watch : Bond skiing down a bobsled run and doing a pirouette while ski jumping

In 1981 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Roger Moore plays Bond and shows off the ski areas of Cortina, including a bobsleigh run. That’s what was left of the Winter Olympics of 1956. Cortina was always a little run down. But that has completely changed now that Cortina will be the location of the Winter Olympics in 2026.

Bond stayed in a  grand hotel  that is over one hundred years old. 007 Connoisseurs know that Bond checks in in room number 300, but the balcony seen in the film belongs to room 108. Just so you know…

The film production crew filmed at two villas in Lake Como for “Casino Royale”. In Villa del Balbianello, Bond recuperates after his torture by La Chiffre. The villa is near Tremezzina, which is on the western shore of Lake Como. It’s in a picturesque wooded area. This villa has also been featured also in Star Wars.

Daniel ‘Bond’ Craig also filmed at Villa La Gaeta, near San Siro and Menaggio. It is surrounded by a pretty park. In the last scene of Casino Royale, Bond kills Mr. White and articulates the best one liner of all time: “Bond… James Bond”.

In Venice sails by the Canal Grande. Yachts in the grand canal are no daily sight, so one might wonder why Bond exposes himself to the public in this way. No wonder he and Vesper get in trouble. The luxury hotel where they stay is actually Prague’s Natural History Museum. After Vesper gets into trouble, Bond follows her frantically, first in the Piazza San Marco and then some streets further down. He passes a small alley, the Sottoportico Le Colonne. 

The palazzo that seems to crash into the water is on Venice’s Canal Grande across from Rialto’s vegetable market. It was of course reconstructed in the Pinewood studio.

Quantum of Solace

• James Bond location Garda:  From Malcesine to Riva del Garda
• James Bond location Tuscany:  Carrara, Siena, Talamone

• Why to watch : spectacular car chase along Lake Garda and original chase across the rooftops of historic Siena

The chaotic road chase where Bond delivers Mr. White to a secret MI6 location alongside Lake Garda in Northern Italy. This car chase is at the very start of the film; it’s spectacular but rather short. The chase begins in the village of Malcesine, then continues to Navene and Tempesta and ends 2.24 minutes later near Riva del Garda. The cars then suddenly end up in the Carrara marmble caves. The caves are 240 kilometers south. James Bond apparently has super powers.

Bond travels from Lake Garda to Tuscany. Given the sequence of scenes, it looks more like flying than driving. In Carrara, he ‘visits’ the marble quarries, the same ones Michelangelo once visited to hatch his Pietà.

In Siena, Bond goes to Piazzetta della Paglietta on the Via di Salicotto, southeast of the Piazza del Campo, the central square. Siena is a World Heritage Site and the Piazza Del Campo hosts the Palio di Siena two times a year.

The crazy bareback horse race is a lively background for the film. Anyone can go if you find a place to stay and it is held on July 2nd and August 16th. The chase across the city (there is always a chase in the Bond film) was held on the real rooftops of Siena,

The beautiful coast of southern Tuscany, Maremma, also hosted the elusive Bond. Craig filmed in Talamone to visit his friend, Mathis. Read more on Bond’s Tour in Talamone .

From Russia with Love

Venice is a popular location for 007. He has been there three times without getting much older by the way.

The first time was in 1963 . In “From Russia with Love”, there are some scenes filmed in Venice, although the majority of that film was filmed in Istanbul, Turkey. James Bond and Tatiana Romanova were filmed kissing under the Bridge of Sighs when the film ends. Compared to today’s technology, the special effects are at an amateurish level. It is completely clear that the kissing duo is in the studio (Pinewood) and not in Italy.

Sixteen years later than From Russia with Love, Bond is now Roger Moore. In ‘Moonraker’ Bond travels by gondola and passes a funeral boat full of dangerous men, kills a gondolier, and just barely escapes. In Piazza San Marco, Bond’s gondola becomes an amfibi vehicle, which is honestly quite ridiculous to see.

Bond also visits a glass store near Piazza San Marco, and the Hotel Danieli in Venice. The hotel is lavish and beautifully decorated, as you can see in the film. He checked in to rooms 31 and 32. Bond also appears in  Ca’ Rezzonico at the Fondamenta Rezzonico 3136, across the Canal Grande from San Marco. The grand palazzo is now the Museum of 18th Century Venice.

Bond also briefly stays in “South America” for a Brazilian training camp, but these scenes were actually filmed in San Nicolo al Lido, near Venice.

The Spy Who Loved Me

Bond and his leading lady stay at the luxurous Hotel Cala di Volpe which is on cliffs on the north coast of Sardinia. On Costa Smeralda, Cala di Volpe is one of the most famous sites. The hotel is an oasis along the coastline. You can ask to look at the “Bond suite” where Bond filmed at the hotel (it’s actually the bar).

There is also a car chase at Vista Point, and in the piazza of San Pantaleone. Bond eventually drives his Lotus Esprit car into the sea, and the car turns into a submarine. 007 ends up on the beach at Romazzina, east of Cala di Volpe.

Rome is the star in the “Spectre” film. The city host Daniel Craig for about six minutes as he flees from his great opponent. Bond blasts through the Italian capital from left to right. He passes the Vatican, the tiny streets of the Monti district and the Prati district and he races over the Gianicolo Hill. Before he is haunted, Bond took a drive (during the day) to meet Monica Bellucci. We then see him go past the Coloseum at a snail’s pace.

Matera’s rugged and dreamy cliffs and landscape are in the latest James Bond film.

Matera may not be very well known to the general public, but the town is a real gem, and Bond has noticed that too. Not that James can enjoy it, because as so often it’s more like running for your life than visiting a town.

The shots were made in Matera and Gravina in Puglia (25 kilometers from each other), which is similar to Matera in terms of houses and location. For this film, scenes were also shot in Sapri (200 kilometers west). The town is situated on the coast below Naples.

A Mega Yacht Worthy of Featuring in a James Bond Movie

We all know that James Bond movies are full of extravagant vehicles such as high-end racing cars, private jets, submarines, and even space shuttles (Moonraker, anyone?) but at Yacht Informer we love it when a luxury mega yacht makes an appearance.

We love watching stunning yachts being showcased and can admit to being distracted by the yacht setting and missing a crucial plot twist or two being discussed in a scene while busy goggling at the yacht in the background.

James Bond fans will not be surprised to see a few mega yachts making an appearance because many of the films are shot in popular yachting hot spots, including the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. However, our pulses race when a yacht is the centre-stage for a piece of the action.

Notable Yachts Featured in James Bond Movies

In Skyfall, featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond, you can spot the Aria I making an elegant appearance. The 56-metre luxury yacht was previously called the Regina and was launched in 2011 by Spanish yacht company, Med Yachts.

With accommodation for up to 12 guests, and huge deck space for entertainment, the yacht was used in the film to transport James Bond, and Bond girl Severine, to an island off the coast of Macau for an epic face-off with Bond villain, Raoul Silva.

In another Daniel Craig outing, the 54-foot wooden sailing yacht Spirit was featured in Casino Royale. The luxury sailing yacht was built by British contemporary wood yacht builders Spirit Yachts specifically for the 2006 feature film.

In Casino Royale, you watch James Bond sail the Spirit through the network of Venice canals with Bond girl Vesper Lynd. The vessel was designed to be de-masted so that the yacht could manoeuvre its way under the many low bridges dotted around the Venice waterways.

The Spirit is truly unique and very classy with rich mahogany topsides and teak decks. Nothing was left to chance with the build as Bond is well known for his taste in luxury vehicles, whether they be cars or boats.  The vessel oozes quality and classic elegance.

What is also notable about the Spirit is that it was the first sailing yacht to travel up the Grand Canal in 300 years!

A new mega yacht concept fit for James Bond

While there have been many mega yachts making appearances in a long line of James Bond films, there is one mega yacht concept on the drawing board that looks like a perfect fit for either James Bond or one of his arch-nemesis.

The Ultra2 concept may look like a classic and stylish mega yacht from the outside, but plans for the inside include a safe room and counter-Intelligence protocols – perfect for a super-spy, or his super-smart enemy.

The Ultra2 concept is the brainchild of Theodoros Fotiadis, the Berlin-based designer that has combined what is technically a floating fortress within a subtle disguise of a full-blown luxury mega yacht.

The 311-foot vessel comes with a safe room and is packed with state-of-the-art security and privacy technology. Yet to the casual observer, all these featured are well hidden. This would make an ideal floating MI5 base where diplomatic meetings could be held, or alternatively, a secret hub for a James Bond villain wanting to stay mobile and constantly eluding his rival.

No compromises have been made over luxury, however. The yacht offers a spacious 4450GT interior with an eye-catching feature spiral staircase with rich mahogany and gold finishes throughout the ship.

With accommodation for 14 guests and 26 crew, the yacht has two oversized swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, storage for three tenders, a helicopter, water toys including sea bobs, kayaks, wave runners, surfboards, water slide, and an iMax cinema to keep her guests entertained.

The Ultra2 comes off the drawing board following the unveiling earlier this year of the Stormbreaker concept by Fotiadis.

James Bond’s Casino Royale yacht Soufriere for sale

The 16.4 metre sailing sloop Soufriere is listed for sale by Sean McMillan at Spirit Yachts, but this is no ordinary yacht for sale .

Instead, it’s the very pretty (in yachting terms) co-star of Daniel Craig in his first outing as James Bond in the film Casino Royale . Delivered in 2006, she was built by Spirit Yachts with mahogany frames, Brazilian cedar planking and two Khaya veneers, all bonded with epoxy.

But back to Bond. When the producers first explained their requirements to McMillan he discovered that he had to take Soufriere first to Miami, then Barbados and Croatia before finally arriving in Venice. Each location change required taking down the mast, a two day job that had to take place 10 times.

Sean McMillan told the Daily Telegraph newspaper : “I had to phone them and say we just couldn’t afford to do it. The schedule also involved a 1,500 mile upwind voyage from the Bahamas to the US Virgin Islands. Very tough. But they said they’d pay. Most people pay them so they must have really wanted it.”

“It was the first sailing boat on that part of the Grand Canal in 300 years,” McMillan told the newspaper. Soufriere was subsequently sold to an Irish buyer and has since been used for cruising and racing, mainly in the UK and Ireland. She has been well cared for over the years and offers many more years of fun. She was given new upholstery in 2015 in all cabins and the saloon.

Soufriere sleeps up to six guests in two en suite double cabins and is powered by a single 54hp Yanmar diesel engine. Offers in excess of £600,000 are invited for this exquisite piece of Bond memorabilia.

London – the ‘old smoke’ – has made an appearance across countless iterations of 007. To give you the measure of his sometimes home, we’ll escort you around the city in your own chauffeured, 1960s Aston Martin DB5 or Range Rover. Your itinerary? No. 4 Whitehall Court (home to the original MI6), which made an appearance in No Time To Die (2021). You’ll visit the Spring Gardens safehouse where Bond goes to ground with Madeleine Swann ( Spectre , 2015), Parliament Street – where he pursued Silva ( Skyfall , 2012) – and Vauxhall Cross, the current home of MI6 (which made a memorable appearance in The World Is Not Enough (1999)). Cap things off with a martini at the world-renowned DUKES Bar. And much, much more.

In Bond’s merciless world, one must learn to fight – and to fall – with effortless ease. After all, as Scaramanga chillingly declared, this is nothing less than a “duel between titans” ( The Man With The Golden Gun , 1974). To prepare you for the life of a secret agent, we have arranged a unique opportunity for a private training session with Lee Morrison – the accomplished stunt coordinator who has worked on the last five Bond films, including the unforgettable Matera chase scene from No Time To Die (2021), which would normally be inaccessible. Together, you’ll perfect the pugilistic arts of falls and fights, all the while hearing anecdotes of how Bond’s most famous escapades were brought to life on the big screen.

Bond in Motion, an exhilarating exhibition of 85 original automotive exhibits from the world of 007 –  including a rare Goldfinger (1964) continuity Aston Martin DB5 as well as a DB5 used in No Time To Die (2021) and the Q Boat from   The World Is Not Enough   (1999) – runs until 31st March 2024. To mark the occasion, we’ve created this new five-night experience in Prague, Czechia’s sublime medieval capital, where you’ll gain Diamond VIP access to the exhibition. Elsewhere, you’ll rove the castles and cathedrals of the city, dine at Bond’s table at the Grandhotel Pupp which appeared as Hotel Splendide in   Casino Royale   (2006), and enjoy a private tour of Karlovy Vary and Loket, which were transformed into 007’s Montenegro in the same film.

Q’s contagious enthusiasm is evident when he first introduces the iconic Aston Martin DB5 to Bond in Goldfinger ( 1964), stating, “now this is one I’m particularly keen about”. The British car manufacturer’s legendary heritage goes back to 1913 and has – for the long life of the franchise – been deeply associated with 007. In this exclusive experience, we’ve arranged for private access to Aston Martin Works – a site that is typically inaccessible to the general public. You’ll go behind the scenes and under the hood of this functioning workshop; seeing – first hand – how their cars are built and painstakingly restored. The DB5 – of course – will take centre stage. “I never joke about my work, 007”, Q concludes.

“I sized you up the moment we met.” So remarked Vesper to Bond in Casino Royale (2006) having arranged a tailored suit for him. And to get the measure of 007 yourself, you’ll join a personal stylist and Black Tomato guide on a sartorial tour of London’s St. James; a district that embodies the classic, vigorous glamour of Bond. Each of the stores – including N.Peal, Lock & Co., Turnbull & Asser, Crockett & Jones, and Floris – have close relationships with the Bond films, holding special collections and signature items to peruse. This includes pieces that have appeared in the movies themselves – including items inspired by the films: from the shirt worn by 007 in Dr. No (1962), ties inspired by Tomorrow Never Dies (1995), and shoes custom-made for Bond in Skyfall (2012). At each location, you will be hosted by the store’s representatives – all of whom have supreme knowledge of 007’s wardrobe.

A sleek, black craft leaps from the flaming detritus of MI6. Here, along the span of the ancient Thames, Bond made his iconic pursuit of Cigar Girl in The World Is Not Enough (1999). Fittingly, you’ll board the very same craft – a Superhawk 34 – that Cigar Girl piloted in the movie; cruising past landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s, and the Millennium Dome that provided the backdrop for this most dramatic chase. You can be joined by Sarah Donohue, Cigar Girl’s stunt double, who’ll give you the inside scoop on how this exhilarating sequence was brought to life. For the bold, we can simulate your own high-speed chase scene – and you’ll have the option for our own film crew to capture it, for posterity, with a drone. Roll cameras.

This renowned members-only gambling club – in resplendent Mayfair – inspired the location where the world first met James Bond in Dr. No (1962), and where he delivered that most unforgettable of lines: “Bond. James Bond”. Naturally, we will take you for a private, behind-the-scenes tour as a guest of honour. First, cocktails and canapés in the library. Next, a visit to the Marble Room (which inspired the casino set for Dr. No ). Your finale? An expert-led private baccarat lesson. From here, you can try your luck – and your wits – or continue to dinner, be it at the club restaurant (No. 6 Hamilton Place) or any other London venue of your choice. This singular access has been arranged exclusively for Black Tomato.

Drawing on his pipe, M puts it bluntly: “if you carry a 00 number, it means you’re licensed to kill – not get killed”. For Bond, this has always meant finding the right tool for the job – be it a suitcase with hidden compartments or a watch with ingeniously unexpected properties, or a weapon disguised as a camera. In a fashion befitting Q Branch we’ve arranged ultra-exclusive access to handle these iconic props – an exclusive to Black Tomato. Your quartermaster briefing will be led by Joss Skottowe, director of The Armoury Department (who have managed and maintained 007’s prop weapons for two decades) and Meg Simmonds, Archive Director for EON Productions. This is a staggeringly unique opportunity to hold the history of James Bond in your hands. “How original”, as Bond remarks. “What will they think of next?”

Given that Bond is a character synonymous with speed and power, it is only fitting that we take you to the Land Rover Experience Centre at the private estate of Eastnor Castle. Travelling from London by helicopter, you’ll feel the thrill of a specially curated driving adventure at a site famed for its extreme, challenging terrain. Your vehicle? The Land Rover Defender that made its muscular appearance in No Time To Die (2021). Around you – 5,000 acres of estate to explore. Lunch will be served at a scenic spot along your route. Exclusively for Black Tomato, your day will end with a dynamic high-speed drive experience – not otherwise available to visitors. You’ll put pedal to metal in the style of 007 – alongside an expert technical driver. As Bond observes to Q, “you’d be surprised the amount of wear and tear that goes on out there in the field” ( Goldfinger , 1964).

The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, has a deep resonance with 007 – being the naval training centre where a younger Bond would have studied, prior to joining MI6. This UNESCO-listed heritage site itself has a rich filmmaking history – not least its sombre appearance in Skyfall (2012). Arriving in this historic London neighbourhood, you’ll gain behind-the-scenes access to numerous Bond locations. Typically closed to visitors, we’ve also arranged exclusive access to the Queen Mary Dome – you’d be one of the first members of the public to do so. To help illuminate Bond’s Greenwich, you’ll be joined by Luke Flynn – Greenwich’s Estate Operations Manager – who oversees all filming projects at the site. You can also enjoy afternoon tea served at the Admiral’s House – accompanied by Bond location manager Ali James. She’ll share her insights of working at this historically important site and all the secrets of Bond’s movie magic.

“Shaken. Not stirred”. These iconic lines have become synonymous with Bond – which made their first appearance in Dr. No (1962). To walk you through the stirring history of 007’s drinks, we’ve arranged for a private masterclass with Erik Lorincz – former Head Bartender at the Savoy’s American Bar. His mixological expertise helped to fashion the drinks of Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time To Die (2021). Few in the world can claim his exacting knowledge of Bond’s beverages. This session is exclusive to Black Tomato.

The Aston Martin is the quintessential embodiment of Bond: elegant, powerful, fast. To get a grip on this most iconic of cars, we’ll take you for a performance driving course at Millbrook Proving Ground – made famous by Casino Royale’s (2006) record-breaking car stunt of seven consecutive canon-rolls. Like Bond, you’ll get behind the wheel of an iconic Aston Martin. Not only will you get to drive the mile-long straight made famous by Casino Royale , but you’ll have the opportunity to gain heart-racing speeds in the ‘high-speed constant radius bowl’ and drive a high-octane alpine road circuit. This is about putting the Aston Martin – and yourself – through its paces, guided by an expert instructor with competitive motorsport experience. For added flair, Chris Corbould OBE can join you for lunch – the renowned, Oscar-winning Special Effects Supervisor orchestrated Casino Royale’s spectacular canon-roll.

Bond’s arrival at the sprawling Château de Chantilly was under the cover of wealthy dilettante James St. John Smythe ( A View To A Kill , 1985). His purpose? To infiltrate the criminal network of the nefarious Max Zorin. Albert R. ‘Cubby’ Broccoli – the driving force behind bringing James Bond to the big screen – was a true equestrian aficionado, and it was his idea to locate the action at Chantilly. You will step inside the home of France’s most exclusive horse-training centre, exploring its inimitable grounds by horseback or carriage, dine at Auberge du Jeu de Paume, and explore the inner workings of the elite Grand Stables. You can also choose to survey the grounds with Ali James – a key 007 key location manager. You’ll see – through her masterful lens – how 007 locations like Chantilly are brought to exhilarating life on the big screen.

Bond is never as much at home as when he’s at the casino. The Casino de Monte-Carlo, then, might be considered his stomping ground – particularly after he deftly got the better of Xenia Onatopp during an early encounter with her in GoldenEye (1995). On this high-stakes evening, you’ll get a private, behind-the-scenes tour of this renowned institution before enjoying dinner in the elegant restaurant, Le Train Bleu. You’ll then have the opportunity to head to the tables. Here, €400 worth of chips will be included in your experience. You can choose to be joined by Andreas Daniel, who consulted on Texas Hold’em for Casino Royale (2006) and played the role of the dealer – providing the exacting authenticity that brought Bond and Le Chiffre’s tournament to such high tension. This jackpot evening is exclusive to Black Tomato.

Paris is no stranger to intrigue and plot – its streets having set the stage for some of cinema’s most thrilling encounters. Bond is no exception. Enjoying a splash of Bollinger 1975 at the Jules Verne restaurant in A View To A Kill (1985), 007 was about to see the entire city come to life. We’ll show you Paris through his lens aboard a Venetian-style boat along the Seine, just as he made his spirited pursuit of the ruthless May Day. For you, this is a chance to relax: Bollinger and canapes within hand’s reach. You can choose to be joined, for this riverine jaunt, by Carole Ashby – the actress who appeared in the film as Dominique, the ‘butterfly whistler’, in A View To A Kill (1985). She will regale you with insider tales from behind the scenes.

Tonight, you’ll dine at the very restaurant where Bond meets detective Aubergine in A View To A Kill (1985). One of Paris’ most illustrious restaurants, Le Jules Verne, is located high on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll have – we hope – a more relaxing time than Bond (who tore away to chase the mysterious May Day). The five or seven-course tasting menu will, no doubt, help. You can choose to be joined by Carole Ashby – who played Dominique in the movie. who blew butterflies in his direction, high above the city of Paris. She’ll regale you with intimate anecdotes and unrivalled insight from behind the scenes.

Before his many years as a secret agent, Bond was once a naval officer. It is this role that we’ll honour on the astounding Monaco Riviera, where you’ll board your own private yacht charter – which Bond might refer to as “a bloody big ship” Skyfall (2012). Departing from Monaco, your route will take in Villefranche-sur-Mer, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Fossettes Creek, Beaulieu, and many more. You’ll have every opportunity to drop anchor – to swim, to unwind, and to soak up the surroundings of this achingly beautiful coastline. Your day will end with a Bond-befitting reservation at La Reserve de la Mala. For an added twist, you can be joined by Bond actress Carole Ashby, who appeared in A View To A Kill (1985) and Octopussy (1983). This is the ultimate elevation of your day upon the water.

In this timeless experience, you’ll visit the Paris OMEGA boutique – located at OMEGA’s flagship boutique on the iconic Champs-Élysées. Here, you’ll be met by a brand ambassador who will give you a peerless induction into the heritage of the brand and its relationship with Bond. This includes the Seamaster – which 007 wears in GoldenEye (1995) – and the Aqua Terra, sported by Bond in Skyfall (2012) alongside a selection of watches and prototypes designed by the art department especially for the films. You’ll also have the option to be met by representatives from the Switzerland-based Brand Heritage Team who have a masterful knowledge of Omega timepieces and 007. As Bond says, “we have all the time in the world” ( No Time To Die , 2021).

Bond is a creature of sophisticated habits, and this is no truer than when it comes to champagne. Checking his suite for bugs in Live And Let Die (1973), 007 makes a laidback call to room service. A bottle of Bollinger. And two glasses. It was without question that we would introduce you to his brand of choice. And where better than at the source itself? On this day, you’ll gain ultra-rare access to the private Bollinger Estate – a location ordinarily closed to the public. Drive the vineyards by vintage Land Rover Defender. Take a vista-spanning picnic. Then, descend into La Reserve – a hush-hush cellar whose spaces hold 3,000 magnums; spanning 45 vintages and 16 different crus. From here, enjoy an exclusive tasting of Special Cuvée, Rosé Cuvée and La Grande Année 2014. As Bond put it, “excellent choice”.

It was on the shores of Lake Como that Bond recovered from his wounds in Casino Royale (2006). Like him, you’ll have every opportunity to rest and unwind. But this is the world of 007, and we wouldn’t be making the most of this stunning panoramic location without a touch of glamour and speed. Today, the waters will be your playground: first, climb aboard a seaplane that will arc and yaw high above the lake. Landing upon the waters with an elegant glide you’ll take a private water-ski session (not that Bond needed one in Licence To Kill , 1989). From here, you’ll swim out to the lido and a waiting Riva Super Florida for a scenic, soul-enriching tour across the span of Lake Como. At its end, you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch consisting of all the finer things we associate with Bond. Pride of place will be given to Villa del Balbianello, where 007 recuperated and fell in love. Only with Black Tomato can these discrete experiences be knitted so cinematically together.

Despite his tough exterior, Bond has a finely attuned ear for classical music. The opera – with its expressive, heart-wrenching scores and themes of tragedy and betrayal – is the ideal musical backdrop for his cinematic world. In honour of this, we will secure you tickets to La Fenice Opera House – the city’s most enduring landmark (which viewers glimpsed in Moonraker , 1979): twice burned and twice rebuilt. Before the audience take their seats, you will join an expert La Fenice guide deep behind the curtains – peering into its inner-workings and viewing its collection of Maria Callas memorabilia. As the orchestra warm up, you’ll sip a private aperitivo in the Sinopoli room. Take your seats.

During his numerous stays in the ‘city of masks’ – such as Moonraker (1979) and Casino Royale (2006) – Bond has explored not only its landmarks but its most labyrinthine corners. On this hush-hush expedition, you’ll be accompanied by our own ‘man in Venice’. He’ll lead you through the city; mapping the scenes and sights most closely associated with 007 – from key moments to filming locations including St Mark’s Square and Piazetta del Leoncini. You’ll travel the Grand Canal and hunt shadows in the Rialto Market, following the path of the Campo San Barbara and Satoportego Speron d’Oro, where Bond pursued Vesper. The city – as movie backdrop and a site of living history – will come to life around you.

Just as there is no Bond without a tuxedo, there is no Venice without its gondolas. Fortuitously, these two worlds collided in From Russia With Love (1963) – when 007 shared an intimate moment with the beautiful Tatiana Romanova just before the credits rolled. Like them, you’ll sedately navigate the city’s labyrinthine canals; passing the Bridge of Sighs and the Piazza san Marco. Things got much bumpier in Moonraker (1979), where Bond converted his gondola into a hovercraft in order to evade his pursuers. Your experience will be altogether more harmonious.

Few will forget Bond and Vesper’s glamorous sailboat entrance to Venice with the sun high and the lagoon glittering with golden fire in the final act of Casino Royale (2006). In appropriate fashion, we’ll take you on a vintage yacht cruise out onto the waters – exploring the lesser-known and more secluded corners of this legendary region, including Pallestrina, Poveglia, Sant’Erasmo, and Torcello. While there are boats aplenty on the lagoon, few are as majestic – few will take our more adventurous and under-the-radar routing. As Bond languorously enquires in The Man With The Golden Gun (1974): “How’s the water?” We think, sublime.

It was on the island of Murano that Bond battled Chang, his bitter adversary in Moonraker (1979), with only the precious Copa Barovier standing between them. In the film it was destroyed. In reality it still lives. Like Bond, we’ll take you to Venice’s most storied island to view this historic piece of material culture before sitting down for a once-in-a-lifetime dinner at a working glass factory – your table ringed by billowing forges and machinery. During this incomparable dinner, master artisans will work their delicate craft around you. Ultimately, this unforgettable dining experience simply cannot be arranged by the public and is exclusive to Black Tomato.

The 17th century courtyard of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music provided a lustrous backdrop to Casino Royale (2006), and it is here – for one unforgettable moment – that we will bring the music of 007 to glorious life. Joining the Conservatory’s Director, you will enjoy an extremely rare, private tour of the historic Conservatory (founded in 1876) before soaking up a private courtyard performance by the students of Venice’s most esteemed musical establishment. They will give a rousing rendition of the “total entertainment” – as Bond composer John Barry described it – that has provided all the verve and swagger which we so closely associate with 007. From Diamonds Are Forever to Nobody Does It Better , this will provide a moving crescendo to your day in Venice – the ‘queen of the Adriatic’.

You would be hard-pressed to count the exquisite meals Bond has enjoyed over the years. His sophisticated palate is well-known, as evidenced by his indulgence in Beluga caviar which he savours in Thunderball (1965), On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), and Casino Royale (2006). That’s why we’ll work with you to create your ideal, 007-themed bespoke menu drawing on painstaking research through the archives and prop menus. Over the decades Bond ate stone crab, steak Diane, crème caramel. The works. Now it’s your turn at the illustrious Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel. Choose from the 360-views of its rooftop (The Altana) or the private Casanova gardens. You’ll have the option for a private photographer to capture the splendour – in addition to a Bond music recital to provide a fitting 007 soundtrack while you dine. Spare a thought for Moneypenny, whom Bond – as she observes in Dr. No (1962) – has never taken to dinner.

Towering high above the majestic width of St Mark’s Square, the Torre dell’Orologio (constructed in 1496), provided a memorable backdrop for a most eventful encounter between 007 and Chang. The latter met his vertiginous end by plummeting through the face of the clock itself ( Moonraker , 1979). “I gave him a time-out”, as Bond later quipped. You will ascend the tower in the company of an expert guide who’ll bring the history of this sumptuous landmark to life by explaining precisely how this delicate blue-gold structure was reimagined for the silver screen. Exclusively for Black Tomato, you’ll have the tower entirely to yourself – a rare honour that we’ve curated specifically for this experience.

Bond’s adoration for the Austrian Alps is widely known, with the mighty Gaislachkogl mountain taking centre stage in Spectre (2015). This is precisely where we’ve curated an invigoratingly cinematic day that will celebrate Bond’s mastery of all things alpine. Arranged exclusively for Black Tomato, you’ll travel to the mountain’s summit by snow-groomer – long before the lifts open to the public – to toast the empty slopes with a glass of Bollinger. Now, you’ll make first tracks down the mountain – from red to blue. As you descend, you’ll pass the Hoffler Klinik entrance where 007 met Madeleine Swann in Spectre , as well as one of the original Land Rover Defenders featured in the film. As Bond remarked during another notable snowbound encounter, “I came prepared for a cold reception” ( The World Is Not Enough , 1999). As should you.

Bond is a regular denizen of the slopes – having slalomed his way through The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and The World Is Not Enough (1999). In honour of his alpine excellence, we’ll set you up with the goal of completing Sölden’s mammoth three peaks challenge: with three peaks towering 3,000m or higher. These will be yours to conquer. Being such an energetic day, we’ve arranged for an exclusive off-piste meal to be set up for you in a remote mountain hüttes. For early risers, we can arrange for you to have ‘first tracks’ access to the slopes.

As much as we associate 007 with the land and sea, he’s had more than a few encounters in the air. Not least his spirited pursuit of the kidnapped Madeleine Swann in Spectre (2015). Taking off from Hochgurgl, you’ll ascend, by helicopter, high above the icy, alpine splendour of the Ötztal Valley – echoing the perilous plane journey Bond himself would make. Beneath you will be the Rettenbach glacier, the winding Ötztal Glacier Road, and the futuristic form of the ice Q restaurant. On your ecstatic return to terra firma, you’ll enjoy a decadent Bollinger picnic in the private lounge: an exclusive to The Assignment.

Carved high into the summit of Gaislachkogl mountain is the futuristic ‘lair’ of 007 Elements – a cinematic Bond installation that illuminates precisely how the alpine elements of Spectre (2015) were staged and shot. Thank you for visiting www.blacktomato.com. This site is owned and operated by Black Tomato of Albert House, 256-260 Old Street, London EC1V 9DD (“ Black Tomato ”). Black Tomato is a managed branch of Hays Tours Operating Limited (“ Hays ”), which has its registered office address at 28 Olive Street, Sunderland, United Kingdom, SR1 3PE.

When you make a booking for a Black Tomato travel experience, your contract is with Hays trading as Black Tomato. In these terms and conditions “we” “us” or “our” mean Hays trading as Black Tomato and they form the basis of your contract with us. Please read them carefully as they are legally binding. Your contract is also subject to The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 (the “Package Travel Regulations”) which contain terms that are implied into contracts for packages even if not specified in these Booking Conditions or in your booking confirmation.

We are a member of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA Y6071) and all of the inclusive experiences that we sell are sold by us under Hays Tour Operating Limited’s ATOL 10531, as an as agent of Hays. See Section 18 for details of how we protect your booking payments.

Our bookings are tailored to your requirements and so bookings are subject to availability. Before a booking is confirmed, you will be sent an email inviting you to log into your customer account to view full details of your proposed trip. Alternatively we can post your itinerary out to you. Once you have confirmed to us that you happy with the proposal, we will proceed to take payment and issue you with a booking confirmation. Please check that all names are the same as the relevant passport, that dates and timings and all other elements of your trip are correct. Where this is not done and there is an unreasonable delay in notifying any apparent discrepancies in the confirmed arrangements, you will be responsible for any additional charges that may arise as a result of alterations that have to be made to the booking.

A binding contract between us and you (the lead name on the booking) is only formed when we issue you with our booking confirmation after having received payment from you, in cleared funds, of either the required deposit or the full price of your holiday (depending on when the booking is made relative to the intended departure date). By making the booking you accept that you have the authority to bind all members of your party to these terms and conditions of booking and you take responsibility as the lead name on the booking to make payment and to receive documentation on behalf of your party.

• PRICE AND PAYMENT

We reserve the right to alter the prices of any trips shown on our website or set out in our written proposal to you at any time before your booking is confirmed. You will be advised of the current price before your booking is confirmed. Prices quoted are GBP sterling prices based on daily currency exchange rates current at the time of quotation.

The price of your experience is inclusive of taxes and where applicable, all additional fees and charges and other costs. Where any costs cannot be reasonably calculated by us in advance of the conclusion of your contract, we will give you an indication at the time of booking of the type of additional costs which you may still have to bear.

Please note that all payments taken on debit or credit card will be taken in GBP sterling and so if you are a customer whose payment card is not denominated in GBP, the final price will be calculated in accordance with the applicable exchange rate on the day your card issuer processes the transaction. To avoid this we can accept payment in GBP, EUR and USD by bank transfer and can specify the exact amount required for payment in the specified currency.

In all cases, in order to make a booking, a deposit will be required. The amount of deposit varies depending on the nature of your trip and will be confirmed to you before you book. Where bookings include flights with airlines that require full payment in advance of booking, the full price of the flight(s) will be included in the booking deposit and will be chargeable in the event of cancellation as a cancellation fee (see below). The balance payment is due 12 weeks in advance of the intended departure date. If the booking is made less than 12 weeks before departure, the full price of the trip will be payable on booking. Your booking confirmation will advise the balance payment due date. If, following the payment of a deposit at the time of booking, any balance remains unpaid within 12 weeks of the intended departure date, we reserve the right not to issue travel documentation and treat your booking as cancelled. In such circumstances cancellation charges will be applied as set out in Section 6 below.

Payments must be made in the currency of the invoice and you will be responsible for any bank charges that may be incurred. Payments can be made by cheque, bank transfer, debit or credit card. In all cases, a booking will not be confirmed until we are in receipt of cleared funds. For your peace of mind, our site is protected by Let’s Encrypt and all card payments are encrypted using the internationally accepted security system, SSL.

It is essential and a condition of booking with Black Tomato, that you take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover you before, during and after your trip. We will not be responsible for any costs incurred by you or any member of your party before, during or after your trip as a consequence of inappropriate or insufficient travel insurance being purchased.

Hazardous activities: Your trip may involve activities which are treated as hazardous activities by insurers, this can include sports such as, but not limited to, ski-ing, water sports, horse riding, mountain biking and climbing. It is your responsibility to check with your insurer and ensure that you obtain insurance to cover all activities included in your itinerary, including paying an additional premium for hazardous activities where your insurer requires it. Black Tomato will not be liable for any personal injury or death arising out of any such activities unless caused intentionally or negligently by us – see section 9 below.

• PASSPORTS, VISAS, HEALTH & OTHER FORMALITIES

We will provide you with general information relating to passport, visa and health formalities relevant to UK or US citizens of the destinations included in your trip, including approximate periods for obtaining visas. Most countries now require passports to be valid for at least 6 months after your return. Please take special note that for all air travel within the British Isles, airlines require photographic identification of a specific type. Please ask us for details. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to ensure that you and your party will be able to obtain, and will be in possession of, all necessary travel documents/visas in advance of travel. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party will be able to comply with all health formalities for the destination concerned. We will not accept liability if you or any member of your party is refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on your/their part to carry correct documentation or to comply with relevant health formalities.

Not all trips and activities are appropriate for persons with a disability, reduced mobility or medical condition. If you or any member of your party have any disability, reduced mobility or medical condition, it is extremely important that you tell us before you book in order that we can ensure that the travel experience you are interested in is appropriate to and safe for your needs and make the necessary arrangements to make your experience go safely and smoothly. All health and mobility information will only be used in order to advise you in relation to your booking and for passing to suppliers of your travel experience in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Occasionally some of our trips or certain activities may have minimum or maximum age restrictions. This is usually for safety and insurance purposes. Where they do, we may need to ask the ages of your party to confirm whether the trip/activity is appropriate.

• INFORMATION

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the information on our website is accurate and not misleading, it may have been published many months before your travel experience takes place and may be subject to change. We reserve the right to make changes to the website and any information it contains at any time. We will confirm all details of your experience in your booking confirmation. For changes that we may make after we have issued your booking confirmation, please see Section 7 below.

• AMENDMENT, TRANSFERS AND CANCELLATION BY YOU

Any cancellation or amendment request must be sent us in writing to our postal address or by email to  [email protected]  and will not take effect until received by us.

(a) Amendment

If after our booking confirmation has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, we will do our best to assist you in amending your arrangements after booking, but, subject to your right to transfer under the following paragraph, we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. You may be asked to pay an administration charge of £75 in addition to the costs we incur in making those amendments. If we are unable to make the amendments and you decide to cancel, we may require you to pay us cancellation charges in accordance with Section 6(c) below.

(b) Transfers

You may transfer your booking to another person who satisfies all the conditions applicable to your travel contract.  We must receive at least 7 days’ written notice from you in order to make such a transfer. Any additional fees, charges or other costs incurred as a result of transferring your booking will be passed on to you with these costs being advised to you before we effect any transfer. We will also charge an amendment fee of £75 for any transfer. You and the person to whom you transfer your booking shall be jointly liable to us for the payment of the balance due and for any such additional fees, charges or other costs.

Please note that in many cases, scheduled airlines apply 100% cancellation charges and will not permit name changes or other booking alterations to be made (accordingly they may treat a transfer as a cancellation and re-booking).

If you and/or any member of your party are considering altering your booking in any way, please contact our staff, who will notify you of the applicable charges.

(c) Cancellation

You, or any member of your party, may cancel your travel arrangements at any time before the start of the package. The cancellation will take effect from the date that we receive written notification of cancellation from you. We will accept notification of cancellation by email, on the understanding that you agree and accept that where you are shown as the sender of the email, we will be entitled to assume that such email has been sent by you.

Cancellations may incur cancellation charges depending on how much notice you give us prior to the departure date. Cancellation charges represent our reasonable costs of terminating your contract based on the time of termination of the contract before the start of the package and the expected cost savings and income from alternative deployment of the travel services where available.

If you cancel your trip more than 12 weeks before your intended departure date (i.e. before the balance due date), the cancellation charge is likely to be the amount of your deposit (including any increased deposit payable as a result of the booking of scheduled flights, see above) although it could be more. Charges for cancellation after the balance due date will usually be more than the deposit amount and will vary due to the complex nature of our travel itineraries. Cancellation charges are likely to increase the closer to departure date that the cancellation is made and may well be up to 100% of the total price of your booking and you should contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges for your trip can be confirmed to you on request at any time including before booking. Please ask for confirmation of the amount of any cancellation charge before cancellation.

Please note that if the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim some or all of the cancellation charges. Please speak to your insurance provider.

In all cases, where cancellation results in us making a refund payment to you, such payment will be made to you as the lead and contracting member of your party, or any substitute lead and contracting member of the party (see above). This will be the case regardless of which members of the party make the deposit and balance payments for the booking. All refunds will be paid within 14 days of cancellation.

Cancellation charges will not be applied where you cancel due to Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances (as defined in section 7(c) below) occurring at the place of destination or its immediate vicinity and significantly affecting the performance of the package or your transport to the destination. In this event you will be entitled to a full refund of any payments made for the package but will not be entitled to any additional compensation.

• AMENDMENTS AND CANCELLATION BY US

(a) Amendments before departure

We may have to make amendments to your proposed trip and may do this at any time and we will advise you of any changes that affect your booking before we issue the booking confirmation.

Occasionally, it is necessary for us to make changes after your booking has been confirmed. We are entitled to make minor changes to your booking provided that we inform you.

If, before the start of the package, we are constrained by circumstances beyond our control to alter significantly any of the main characteristics of the travel services specified in Schedule 1 of the Package Travel Regulations, or cannot fulfil your special requirements that we have accepted in your booking confirmation,  (“ Significant Change ”), we will notify you as soon as  possible. Within the period that we shall specify in the notice, you may either: (i) accept the proposed changes; or (ii) terminate the contract without paying a cancellation charge.

If you choose to terminate your contract, you may accept a substitute package where we are able to offer this to you.

Where the changes to your contract or the substitute package offered result in a package of lower quality or cost, you are entitled to an appropriate price reduction.

If you terminate the contract and do not accept a substitute package, you will be entitled to a full refund within 14 days after the contract is terminated. In addition, compensation may be payable for any lack of conformity in accordance with Sections 8 and 9.

(b) Cancellation by us

Whilst we hope we will never have to cancel your trip, this is very occasionally necessary and we reserve the right to do so. We will do our best to offer alternative arrangements of a comparable or better quality. If we can only offer a lower quality, we will offer give you an appropriate price reduction. If we cannot offer you an alternative, we will give you a full and prompt refund of the price of the trip. We will also be liable to pay appropriate compensation pursuant to Section 9 unless:

• we are prevented from performing the contract because of Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances and we notified you without undue delay before the start of the package; or
• we have to cancel because the minimum number of persons enrolled for the package is smaller than the minimum number stated in the contract and we notify you within the following time periods:
• In the case of trips lasting more than 6 days, no later than 20 days before the start of the package;
• In the case of trips lasting between 2 and 6 days, no later than 7 days before the start of the package;
• In the case of trips lasting less than 2 days, no later than 48 hours before the start of the package.

(c) Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances

Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances means a situation beyond the control of a party the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken by that party (“Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances”).  Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances will usually include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, airport closures, airspace closures (as well as other air traffic management decisions which may give rise to long or overnight delays or cancellations of one or more flights), serious security problems such as riots, civil disturbance or unrest due to political instability or terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial disputes, technical or maintenance problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, significant risks to human health such as outbreak of serious disease at the travel destination, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, earthquake, or adverse weather conditions (actual or threatened) and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office advising against travel to a particular destination.

(d) Travel delays

You may be entitled to claim compensation from your airline under Regulation (EC) 261/2004 in the event of delay, cancellation or overbooking.  See Section 12 below for details.

• PERFORMANCE OF PACKAGE

We are liable to you for the performance of the travel services included in the package travel contract (whether those services are to be performed by us or by other travel service providers) – see Section 9.

If after departure you perceive any lack of conformity (as defined in Section 9 below) during the performance of your package travel contract, you must inform us without undue delay.  We will remedy any lack of conformity within the reasonable period that you require, unless that is impossible or entails disproportionate costs, taking in account the extent of lack of conformity and the value of travel services affected. If we do not remedy the lack of conformity within the reasonable period you require, you shall be entitled to an appropriate price reduction for any period of lack of conformity and to appropriate compensation for any damage sustained as a result, in accordance with Section 9.

If we are unable to provide a significant proportion of your trip whilst you are away, we will offer you suitable alternative arrangements of, where possible, equivalent or higher quality than those specified in the contract, at no extra cost to you, for the continuation of your trip.  Where the proposed alternative arrangements result in a package of lower quality than that specified in the package travel contract, we shall grant you an appropriate price reduction.

You may reject the proposed alternative arrangements only if they are not comparable to what was agreed in the package travel contract or the price reduction granted is inadequate.

If a lack of conformity substantially affects the performance of the package and we fail to remedy the lack of conformity with the reasonable period you specify, you may terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee and where appropriate request a price reduction and/or compensation for damages in accordance with Section 9.

If we are unable to make alternative arrangements or you reject the proposed alternative arrangement according to the above conditions, where appropriate, you are entitled to a price reduction or compensation for damages, or both, in accordance with Section 10 without terminating the travel contract.

If your package contract includes transport, we will also provide you repatriation with equivalent transport without undue delay and at no extra cost to you.

If we are unable to ensure your return as agreed in the package travel contract because of Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances, we will bear the cost of necessary accommodation (if possible of an equivalent category) for a period not exceeding 3 nights per traveller. The limitation to 3 nights’ accommodation does not apply to persons with reduced mobility (as defined in point (a) of Article 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air) and any person accompanying them, pregnant women and unaccompanied minors, as well as persons in need of specific medical assistance, provided that we have been notified of their particular needs at least 48 hours before the start of the package.

Our liability under the above paragraph may not be limited by reason of Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances if the relevant transport provider may not rely on such circumstances under the applicable Union passenger rights legislation.

• OUR LIABILITY TO YOU: PRICE REDUCTION AND COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES

We are responsible for the performance of the travel services included in your package travel contract and we will use reasonable skill and care to provide the services or facilities that form part of your booking with us. We will be liable to compensate you if we fail to perform or improperly perform your package travel contract (defined as a “lack of conformity” under the Package Travel Regulations).

You will be entitled to an appropriate price reduction for any period during which there was a lack of conformity, unless we prove that the lack of conformity is attributable to you.

You are also entitled to receive appropriate compensation from us without delay for any damage which you sustain as a result of any lack of conformity. However you shall not be entitled to compensation for damages if we prove that the lack of conformity is:

• attributable to you;
• attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of travel services included in the package contract and is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or
• due to Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances.

Except in cases involving death, illness or injury, damage caused intentionally or negligently, in any other case where liability may not be limited by law, or in cases which are subject to the international conventions referred to below, our liability for compensation shall be limited to a maximum of three times the total price of your package (not including amendment charges). We shall have no liability for any loss of business or profits or any other indirect loss or damage.

Our liability to you (and your party) is also limited in accordance with the international conventions set out below as if we were a carrier under the relevant conventions as applicable. These conventions limit the amount of compensation that passengers can claim for death, injury, illness, and loss, damage, delay in the transportation of luggage and personal belongings. The terms of the relevant conventions are expressly incorporated into your contract and copies of the applicable conventions will be provided by us upon request. The relevant international conventions are:

• a) in relation to carriage by air, the Montreal Convention;
• b) in respect of carriage by rail, the Berne Convention; and
• c) in respect of carriage by sea, the Athens Convention.

All carriage (by land, air and sea) is subject to the terms and conditions of carriage of the actual carrier. These may limit or exclude liability. These are expressly incorporated into your contract with us. Copies of these terms and conditions will be provided by us on your request. Our liability will not exceed that of any carrier.

Any right to compensation or price reduction under the Package Travel Regulations does not affect the rights of travellers under the EU passenger rights legislation. However where you are granted compensation or a price reduction under the Package Travel Regulations and EU passenger rights legislation or the international conventions, we will deduct the compensation or price reductions under the Package Travel Regulations from the other compensation or price reductions granted in order to avoid overcompensation.

Hotels and other tourist services included in your trip are arranged by us with local suppliers who may themselves engage the services of local operators. Standards of hygiene, accommodation and transport in many countries where we organise trips are often lower than comparable standards in the UK. We will at all times endeavour to appoint reputable suppliers. The terms and conditions of hotels and other providers will be applicable and are expressly incorporated into the contract. These may limit or exclude their liability. Local standards of the relevant country will be relevant in assessing performance of the services being performed in that country. In the event of any complaint, the contract will be regarded as having been performed if local standards relating to those services have been satisfied even if the laws of England and Wales have not been met.

Whether or not we are liable for compensation, we will always provide you with appropriate assistance without undue delay if you are in difficulty. This will include providing appropriate information on health services, local authorities and consular assistance, assisting you to make distance communications and helping you to find alternative travel arrangements. We may charge you a reasonable fee for such assistance if the difficulty is caused intentionally by you or through your negligence.

Please ensure that all your travel, passport, visa and insurance documents are in order and that you arrive in plenty of time for checking in at the airport. It may be necessary to reconfirm your flight with the airline prior to your departure. Please ask us for at least 72 hours before your outbound flight. You should take note of any reference number or contact name when reconfirming. If you fail to reconfirm you may be refused permission to board the aircraft and you are unlikely to receive any refund.

If you book a flight with us you will be issued with an ATOL certificate. See Section 18 for further information.

Where a flight is changed, delayed or cancelled or you are denied boarding of an aircraft for any other reason, you may be entitled to claim compensation from the airline under Regulation (EC) 261/2004. Full details are available at European airports and from airlines. You must lodge any claim for compensation under this Regulation directly with the relevant airline. We are not an air carrier and will have no liability to you in relation to the above Regulation. Please note that any compensation you obtain under these Regulations does not give you an automatic right to obtain compensation from us. Your right to compensation from us is set out in Sections 8 and 9 above. If any payments to you are due from us, any payment made to you by the airline will be deducted from that amount to avoid overcompensation (see also Sections 8 and 9 above)

• IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT

If you perceive any lack of conformity during your trip, please inform our representatives or the relevant supplier (e.g., your hotelier) immediately who will endeavour to put things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please contact us so that we can remedy the problem and make any alternative arrangements that may be necessary.  If the problem is still not resolved upon your return, please write to us within 28 days of your return to our Customer Services Department at Albert House, 256-260 Old Street, London EC1V 9DD, giving your booking reference and other information. If you fail to follow this procedure, we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint at the time the problem occurred and this may affect your rights under this contract.

We are a Member of ABTA, membership number Y6071. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We can also offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolution of disputes arising out of this contract. The scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently. It is a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you for costs.  The upper limit on claims is £5,000 per person and £25,000 per booking. The scheme doesn’t apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences. It can however deal with claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,500 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. Your request for arbitration must be received by ABTA within eighteen months of the date of return from holiday. For injury and illness claims, you can request the ABTA Mediation Procedure and we have the option to agree to mediation. Further information on the Code and ABTA’s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on  www.abta.com

You can also access the European Commission Online Dispute (ODR) Resolution platform at  http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ . This ODR platform is a means of registering your complaint with us; it will not determine how your complaint should be resolved.

• SPECIAL REQUESTS

Whilst we will endeavour to comply with any special requests we receive (such as specific airline seating, dietary requirements or specific rooms) and will pass any special requests to the relevant supplier. However, we are unable to guarantee compliance with such requests and are not liable for any loss suffered in the event of such requests not being complied with.

• EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Where excursions and/or activities are booked and paid for in advance as part of the price of the trip and detailed on our booking confirmation, these will form part of the package contract with us. We undertake to use reasonable skill and care in selecting suppliers who provide excursions and activities as part of your contract.

Any excursions and/or activities that you decide to purchase at any time from a local supplier or third party once your trip has commenced, will not form part of your contract with us. Your contract for such excursions/activities will be made with the relevant supplier or third party and on that party’s terms and conditions and we have no liability whatsoever for the performance of that excursion or activity.

The Assignment: Europe Tours & experiences : Your Assignment itinerary may include guest appearances by former Bond actors, other Bond film experts such as stunt artists and other tours and experiences designed to provide you with an authentic Bond-style experience. As each trip is bespoke and each individual service arranged to suit your preferred itinerary, we contract individual suppliers on a request basis and therefore cannot guarantee their availability.

We shall not be responsible for the cancellation of a single tour or experience in your confirmed itinerary: cancellation of a single tour or experience is only a minor change to your Assignment and does not entitle you to compensation or a price reduction.  In addition, where cancellation of the service is by reason of circumstances such as illness or injury of the individual supplier or any other unavoidable and extraordinary circumstance outside of our or their reasonable control, we shall have no liability for any compensation in any event.   Where a confirmed service cannot be provided, we will try to find an alternative service, but we may not always be able to do this.

Groups : Some of the activities in your itinerary may require a small group size and so where you are part of a larger group, you may have to divide into smaller groups in order to undertake certain activities.

• DATA PROTECTION

In order to enable us to process and fulfil your booking, we will ask you to provide us with personal information including  name, address, email address, telephone number, details of group members that are travelling, we well as any special needs, health, medical, mobility or dietary requirements. Black Tomato Limited is the data controller of any personal information that you provide to us and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

In order to ensure that your holiday is appropriate for your specific needs that you have disclosed to us, for example, a medical condition or reduced mobility, we or the suppliers of your travel arrangements may require further details. We will ask for your explicit consent to collect and share this information as necessary with the suppliers of your travel arrangements in order to fulfil your booking.

We may pass personal information that you provide to us (including health and mobility information as explained above) on to relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements such as airlines, hotels, transport companies and local tour operators and destination management companies as necessary to fulfil your contract.

In order to process and fulfil your contract, your personal information may also be provided to public authorities such as customs and immigration, security and/or credit checking companies, credit and debit card companies and government and enforcement agencies if required by them in order for us to fulfil your booking, or as required by law. Your personal information may be shared with the police or other law enforcement or crime prevention agencies for security purposes.

If your trip involves travel outside the UK and Europe, your personal information may have to be sent to suppliers and other third parties in countries where controls on data protection may not be as strong as the legal requirements in the UK and Europe. This may also apply to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any health issues, disabilities or reduced mobility. If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, we cannot properly effect your booking. We will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place before transferring any of your personal information. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.

If you are travelling to the US, the US Customs and Border Protection require us to provide them with your personal information for the purposes of preventing and combating terrorism and other transnational serious crimes. International travellers who are seeking to travel to the US under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) are now subject to enhanced security requirements and will be required to complete an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) 72 hours before departure and pay an administrative fee. • JURISDICTION

This contract is governed by English law and is subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts. You may however, choose the law and jurisdiction of Scotland and Northern Ireland if you wish to do so.

• DOCUMENTATION

We will endeavour to send your tickets, hotel vouchers and final information regarding your trip approximately 2 weeks prior to departure by e-mail. Once documents leave our offices we will not be responsible for their loss unless such loss is due to our negligence. If tickets or other documents need to be reissued all costs must be paid by you.

• YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION

We provide full financial protection for all of the packages that we sell.

Flight packages : For package holidays including flights, this is through Hays Tour Operating Limited ATOL no 10531 issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, Gatwick Airport South, West Sussex, RH6 0YR, UK, telephone 0333 103 6350, email  [email protected]  (the “ CAA ”). In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that customers booked on a flight-based package holiday are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to Black Tomato for an advance booking. For further information visit the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk. When you buy a flight-inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme or your credit card issuer where applicable.

If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme. If this is a flight only booking, this flight is sold as an agent of the airline(s) named on the booking confirmation/ ticket and is not protected under the ATOL scheme. For all other types of bookings where an ATOL certificate is not supplied at the point of initial payment then no ATOL protection applies to any part of your booking.

Non-flight packages:  We are a Member of ABTA which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. All the non-flight package holidays that we sell are covered by a scheme protecting your money if the supplier fails. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, ABTA will ensure that customers are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money paid to us for an advance booking.

Other services such as hotels on their own may not be protected and you should ask us what protection is available.

THE PACKAGE TRAVEL AND LINKED TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS REGULATIONS 2018

The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.

Therefore, you will benefit from all EU rights applying to packages. Hays Tour Operating Limited trading as Black Tomato (“Black Tomato”) will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.

Additionally, as required by law, Black Tomato has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.

• Travellers will receive all essential information about the package before concluding the package travel contract.
• There is always at least one trader who is liable for the proper performance of all the travel services included in the contract.
• Travellers are given an emergency telephone number or details of a contact point where they can get in touch with the organiser or the travel agent.
• Travellers may transfer the package to another person, on reasonable notice and possibly subject to additional costs.
• The price of the package may only be increased if specific costs rise (for instance, fuel prices) and if expressly provided for in the contract, and in any event not later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price increase exceeds 8 % of the price of the package, the traveller may terminate the contract. If the organiser reserves the right to a price increase, the traveller has a right to a price reduction if there is a decrease in the relevant costs.
• Travellers may terminate the contract without paying any termination fee and get a full refund of any payments if any of the essential elements of the package, other than the price, are changed significantly. If before the start of the package the trader responsible for the package cancels the package, travellers are entitled to a refund and compensation where appropriate.
• Travellers may terminate the contract without paying any termination fee before the start of the package in the event of exceptional circumstances, for instance if there are serious security problems at the destination which are likely to affect the package.
• Additionally, travellers may at any time before the start of the package terminate the contract in return for an appropriate and justifiable termination fee.
• If, after the start of the package, significant elements of the package cannot be provided as agreed, suitable alternative arrangements will have to be offered to the traveller at no extra cost. Travellers may terminate the contract without paying any termination fee, where services are not performed in accordance with the contract and this substantially affects the performance of the package and the organiser fails to remedy the problem.
• Travellers are also entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation for damages where the travel services are not performed or are improperly performed.
• The organiser has to provide assistance if the traveller is in difficulty.
• If the organiser or the retailer becomes insolvent, payments will be refunded. If the organiser or, where applicable, the retailer, becomes insolvent after the start of the package and if transport is included in the package, repatriation of the travellers is secured. Hays Tour Operating Limited trading as Black Tomato (“Black Tomato”) has taken out insolvency protection with the Civil Aviation Authority (“CAA”) (the entity in charge of the insolvency protection for flight packages) and the Association of British Travel Agents (“ABTA”) (the entity in charge of the insolvency protection for non-flight packages). SPIRIT YACHTS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH JAMES BOND FILM NO TIME TO DIE

Spirit Yachts has announced a partnership with EON Productions, Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) and Universal Pictures International. The partnership sees a Spirit 46 sailing yacht feature in the upcoming film No Time To Die in UK cinemas from 30th September and in the U.S. from 8th October 2021.

Suffolk-based Spirit Yachts’ partnership with the James Bond films began when a Spirit 54 yacht was chosen to feature in the 2006 film Casino Royale, in which James Bond and Vesper Lynd can be seen cruising into Venice onboard a Spirit 54.

Spirit Yachts CEO and Head of Design Sean McMillan commented, “The James Bond films are a mainstay of British culture and we are honoured to be continuing our partnership with such an iconic brand.”

In the forthcoming film, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica, where a Spirit 46 sailing yacht is featured.

Sean McMillan continued, “The Spirit 46 is one of the original Spirit Yachts designs and is an example of the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into every Spirit yacht. I think the yacht suits the Bond character very well because of the combination of beauty and practicality.”

Italy. Venice, Italy. See La Serenissima Through the Eyes of James Bond

James Bond, Ian Fleming’s iconic spy and the world’s number one Casanova, has had a love affair with Venice ever since the final scenes of 1963’s “From Russia With Love,” when Sean Connery’s Bond snuck off on a gondola ride with Russian agent Tatiana Romanova.

There’s no doubt that Venice is an incredible backdrop for romance — a beautiful tangle of 16th-century campi makes it an incredible setting for films, but La Serenissima also sets the stage for dynamic action.

And nobody does it better than Bond, whose spy-jinx brought him back to the floating city in three different films: “From Russia With Love,” “Moonraker” (1979) with Roger Moore, and “Casino Royale” (2006) with Daniel Craig.

Here’s where and how to experience Venice like James Bond.

The Grand Canal

The Grand Canal, the main waterway that courses through Venice, weaves its way through all three Bond films, but there was probably no more dramatic and glamorous movie moment than in “Casino Royal.”

In this flick, a newly retired Bond and Vesper sail through the city along the canal, passing all the requisite Venice landmarks, including Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, the Campanile of San Marco, Church of the Salute and the Accademia and Rialto bridges.

Bond’s Eye View: Buy a full-day vaporetto ticket and spend your afternoon coursing the Grand Canal on the local water bus (No. 1 or No. 2 will do). To admire the canal for a longer spell, book a stay at The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice , or plan dinner at its restaurant, The Gritti Terrace, which overlooks the striking canal.

Piazza San Marco

Piazza San Marco, Venice’s largest square, named for the city’s patron saint, serves as backdrop to a desperate Daniel Craig as he runs through the square in search of his love, Vesper Lynd, in “Casino Royale,” after realizing she has betrayed him.

Bond’s Eye View: Though the Basel Bank featured in the film doesn’t exist, Piazza San Marco and its beautiful arcades still do and are open to the public.

Torre dell’Orologio

The Piazza San Marco also gets a second of screen time in “Moonraker,” but the true focus is on the Torre dell’Orologio, an early Renaissance clock tower nearing 300 feet in height.

After Roger Moore’s Bond faces an incredible kendo fight sequence in a glass shop — actually the historic Venini boutique in San Marco — he finds himself in a chase with Drax henchman Chang in the clock tower. Bond ultimately tosses Chang through the clock’s stained-glass face, though this face was a replica made for the movie.

Bond’s Eye View: The clock tower is visitable by reservation, Monday through Wednesday, at 11 a.m. and noon, and Thursday through Sunday, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Rialto Fish Market

On the sestiere San Polo side of the Rialto bridge is the city’s pescheria , a centuries-old fish market set in a neo-Gothic loggia. And it’s in the loggia shade that Quantum agent Adolf Gettler is lurking when Vesper and Bond sail down the Grand Canal in “Casino Royale.”

Bond’s Eye View: Doff your best fedora and head to the Rialto Bridge; from there you can’t miss the market.

Palazzo Pisani

In “Casino Royale,” the minutes leading up to the demise of Vesper Lynd occur in the courtyard of Palazzo Pisani . The Baroque-style Palazzo Pisani has an incredible courtyard, where Vesper has her fateful meeting with Gettler before Bond tries to save her.

Vesper ends up running through the abandoned palazzo and locking herself in an elevator as the palace’s flotation devices give way and sink into the Grand Canal in one of the most epic Bond scenes ever.

Bond’s Eye View: While there is no way to reenact the sinking palace, Palazzo Pisani is the home to the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello, a second-century music conservatory that regularly holds concerts in its halls and famous courtyard.

You can also get eye to eye with the palazzo’s facade by taking Traghetto S. Angelo to San Toma for just two euro.

Ponte dei Sospiri

Venice’s most famous bridge has long been a photo op spot thanks to its picture-perfect setting. The enclosed limestone bridge was built in the mid-1600s to connect the Doge’s Palace to the nuove prigioni (new prisons).

More infamous than famous, the bridge is known as the “Bridge of Sighs” for the last breaths of freedom that convicted persons would have before heading to the cells. In the final scene of “From Russia with Love,” Sean Connery’s Bond cozies up with Russian agent Tatiana Romanova in a gondola as they pass under the Bridge of Sighs.
