Linssen is one of the most prestigious names in steel boats, so when it comes up with an entry-level cruiser it promises to be something rather special

At just 26ft long, the 25.9 is not only one of the smallest steel cruisers available it is also one of the most intelligent and likeable.

Defying its relatively short hull length, this boat delivers 30ft-levels of interior space and luxury thanks to a full-length coachroof that blurs the line between interior calm and cockpit splendour.

Within the wheelhouse there is a fully protected saloon and galley, perfect as an evening retreat or for when the weather closes in.

Out in the cockpit the same lounge-style seating continues as does a degree of protection thanks to the roof above but you also get to feel and celebrate the outside world.

Working both areas in together means you actually win far more comfort and seating than you would on far larger craft.

This deck layout still leaves space for a huge forward cabin with class-leading headroom and particularly impressive separate toilet and shower compartments.

This layout does make the 25.9 more of a couple’s cruiser than a family boat, but a second berth can be made up in the saloon.

The boat’s solid build means that, although primarily an inland and estuary cruiser, it would be up to some light costal work, though a 6-knot top speed will restrict your aspirations slightly.

The Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 Sedan Variodeck

It is the largest yacht with an open cockpit that we have built since our company was founded in 1949: the Grand Sturdy 500 Sedan Variodeck®. A luxury ‘traveller’ with the ideal dimensions of 15.50 x 4.65 x 1.20 m. And with a more than ideal clearance height of only 2.75 m. The Grand Sturdy 500 Sedan Variodeck® clears the (water)way for many comfortable cruises, even through the sailing mecca of France. This is the ultimate Linssen for skippers who like to think in terms of possibilities, rather than limitations.

Since 2003, the open cockpit concept has gained a permanent place in the Linssen Yachts product range. In recent years, an extensive line of sedans has been developed, from small (such as the 25.9) to large (most recently the 45.0). And now the flagship, the Grand Sturdy 500 AC Variotop®, is also getting a Sedan version. But didn’t that flagship already have everything you could wish for as a sailing enthusiast? That was our first challenge in developing this 500 Sedan. How do you remain faithful to the 500 AC Variotop® and at the same time manage to create something new with a unique added value, but without the Variotop? But we managed to do it again.

The new 25.9 Sedan measures 8.20 x 3.00 m and is distinguished by its sturdy, “full” hull. This creates a vast amount of space which the designers have put to good use. With the unmistakeable appearance of the ‘9’ Series, she is elegant and well proportioned, spacious and comfortable, stable and easy to handle.

The beautiful sliding roof offers the possibility to sail fully or partly with an open roof, inside is also outside with this boat. The low vertical clearance of 2.40 meters makes this ship truly unique, almost all fixed bridges on the route in Friesland are accessible.

Sailing characteristics and options

This luxurious and comfortable ship has the perfect sailing characteristics and is equipped with many options. The bow thruster lends a helping hand when mooring, sailing away or maneuvering in narrow waters. You can operate this Linssen Grand Sturdy 25.9 with ease from the comfortable leather captain's chair. Present log and indicators are; rudder angle indicator, depth sounder, speedometer and chart plotter. The most important water charts and most beautiful routes are available on board for you. The ship has both a 12 Volt and a 220 Volt connection, so you can always have power on the way. You use the shore power connection when you have moored in one of the many ports in Friesland and the Netherlands. The hot air heating makes it a pleasant stay and you can continue to sail and enjoy even with less good weather.

Interior Linssen Grand Sturdy 25.9

On board a nice captain's chair with an extra chair on the port side for the co-pilot. The cabin has a headroom of 1.95 mtr. You can relax in the lounge with a spacious sitting area with leather upholstery (which can be converted into a second bed). Windows all around to enjoy the beautiful view. The kitchen of this motorboat is equipped with a complete inventory for 4 people, cooking and frying pans, filter coffee machine and kettle. The refrigerator has a capacity of 85 liters and is equipped with a freezer compartment and there is a two-burner gas cooker. There is a lot of storage space on board, in the form of storage boxes under the round seat and in cupboards in the saloon and in the owner's cabin. It contains a 'French bed' with a luxurious mattress (1.60 x 2.00). You can bring your own bed linen or rent it from us. Pillows are on board. The luxurious sanitary rooms with electric toilet and sink on the starboard side and a separate shower room with teak bench on the port side. The ship has a boiler for sufficient hot water. On the bathing platform there is a bun with, among other things, the gas bottle (safely off board) and a stainless steel bathing ladder is available.

Good sailormanship

When renting this ship you must be an experienced skipper. We ask you about this when booking. A sailing license is not required when renting this motorboat.
