Gulet Fortuna is 28 meters long and completely renovated in 2015. She has 1 Master, 4 Double, 2 Twin Cabins, thereby accommodating 14 guests, all in air-conditioned cabins. Each cabin has a separate WC and shower unit.

There is a spacious cushioned seating area, dining table and dining area at the rear of the boat. There is a separate dining table in saloon and your meals are prepared in a fully equipped separate kitchen. Fortuna Gulet has enough sunbathing mats and space for all guests. There are a TV, DVD and music system in the saloon.

There are separate cabins for the 4 crew accompanying you on your cruise. The Crew organizes all meals, cleaning, maintenance, and daily activities during the cruise. Safety and comfort of our guests is an absolute priority and the crew has been trained to ensure that. They retire to their own cabins once there are no more jobs or when you need privacy.

The yacht hosts 7 luxurious air-conditioned cabins comprising 1 master, 4 doubles, and 2 twins and can accommodate up to 14 guests. Each cabin comes with a private bathroom, hair dryer, and large storage spaces. A tastefully decorated indoor salon along with a comfortable corner seating group, inside dining, and an open bar provides a perfect venue to escape from the sun and outdoors to relax. 

The rear deck offers cushioned seating and a tastefully designed dining area where you can relax with spectacular views while your captain steers you along the beautiful coastline. You will enjoy tasting the freshest and most traditional dishes of Mediterranean cuisine along with your Chef’s special recipes. Outdoor also provides a sunbathing section equipped with sun mattresses and a long seat facing the prow with uninterrupted views of the crystal clear waters. Slipping along peacefully with her full complement of 12 guests in 6 staterooms (plus another 2 in a 7th if you need) she is a self-contained, independent gulet of calm. With her own watermaker, she can stay away from ‘civilization’ for as long as you wish to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

In her flexible cabin arrangements (four doubles, three twins), both families and groups of friends can find the optimum arrangements. She is built in 2002 and thoughtfully refitted in 2018. Whether inside the bright spacious saloon or out on the deck you will easily find the right spot, whether sunbathing or hiding from the glare.

Uniquely, Fortuna’s foredeck provides an alternative dining spot, alfresco and shaded, so if you’re tied stern-to in port, your privacy is unhindered. A niche to savour.

The minimum rental period for a blue cruise is 7 days. Fortuna 2 is a 39 meter-long wooden gullet with 8 cabins, which can accommodate up to 16 guests and is a preferred yacht for great cruises in the unique waters of Mediterranean and Aegean seas with its 5 professional staff. All of the cabins are equipped with air conditioner, wc, shower, clothes closet and hair dryer. There are separate sunbeds for all our guests, relaxation areas in the front and rear, chairs, tables, service kits, security equipment, glasses and pallets. There are separate recreation and living areas for our staff. Gullet has a fully equipped kitchen, bar, ice machine, freezer, fridge, music player and Lcd TV. Due to its strategic geography, Bodrum has been a site for boat building since antiquity. Since then, throughout the Ottoman period and still today, the art and trade thrives here. Handcrafted from teak and mahogany and based on a classic schooner design , gulets were traditionally built for the fisherman and sponge divers who worked in the Aegean and Mediterranean waters. Today the gulet has been skillfully redesigned to optimize space and comfort for guests on the Blue Cruise, although the method of building and the remarkable elegance of these yachts remains essentially the same.

Air Conditioning

Air conditioning may run continuously in Turkish ports. Greek ports do not provide enough voltage necessary for air conditioning so generators are used until midnight. (Harbor regulations forbid generator noise after this time.) For safety reasons, even if the yacht is completely isolated in a cove, the generator cannot be left on for 24 continuous hours, as the engine room must be manned while the generator is in use.

Life vests for children and adults are stowed under the cabin beds for easy access. Fire extinguishers are located in the lounge, engine room, and kitchen. A fire escape is situated in the yacht's front hallway. The first aid kit is stored in the lounge.

Neyzen Yachting - Blue Cruise History

The revered author, poet and ethnographer, Cevat Sakir , the ‘Fisherman of Halikarnassus,' was exiled to Bodrum in the 1920s for his political views and publications. His exile turned out to be a source of further enlightenment as Sakir spent time with the fishermen and sponge divers on their boats. Here he discovered the incredible beauty of nature in the Turkish Aegean , and connected with the ancient history and myths of the region. By the 1950s Sakir and friends including writers Azra Erhat and Sabahattin Eyuboglu, were unknowingly pioneering a new wave of visitors to Bodrum. Intelligentsia and artists from Istanbul and Ankara began to retreat to this small town, seeking inspiration and tranquility away from daily life. Bodrum became the point from which to embark upon the Mavi Yolculuk , or Blue Voyage , as Sakir, Eyuboglu, Erhat and others coined the term. Since the 1980s, with the development of international tourism in Turkey, the Mavi Yolculuk or Blue Voyage has captivated travelers from all over the world .

Take a transfer to the charming marina resort of Gocek and board your luxurious sailing yacht in the afternoon. Your captain and crew will be waiting to welcome you on board. Pick up anchor and sail to a nearby bay for dinner and overnight.

Depart in the early morning for the lovely resort of Kalkan. There will be time for swimming and enjoying the afternoon in the water there. This evening moor in a secluded bay or dock in the lovely harbor for night. In the early afternoon, you can opt to travel by van to the nearby sites of Patara and/or Xanthos, returning to the yacht early evening. (optional): Patara was the major naval and trading port of Lycia, located at the mouth of the Xanthos River, until it silted up and turned into a malariaplagued marsh. It is not far from the site of Xanthos. Patara has a beautiful 12 km long beach, voted one of the top beaches in the world by Times area is a national park, a key biodiversity area and is rich in birdlife. Patara was a very wealthy city due to trade and was one of the six principal cities of Lycia. Patara’s oracle at the renowned temple of Apollo (not yet found) was said to rival that at Delphi and the temple equaled the reputation of the famous temple on the island of Delos. It was believed that Apollo lived at Delos during the summer but spent his winters at Patara. Omens were interpreted in these two towns during the respective seasons. A large bust of Apollo, discovered on the hill beyond the City Gate, indicates the existence of an Apollo Temple. During the Roman period, Patara was the judicial seat of the Roman governor, and the city became the capital of both the Lycian and Pamphylian provinces at one time. Patara was frequently called ‘the chosen city’ and ‘the metropolis of the Lycian nation.’ Around 138 BCE Patara had a population of about 20,000 and ranked among the top cities of Anatolia after Ephesus. In Christian history Patara is famous for being a place of St. Paul’s missionary work at the end of his third missionary journey as he changed ships en route to Jerusalem. (optional): You will have to bring your bathing suits along because Patara is also the best sandy beach in Turkey and the only one you will see on this route. It has a wonderful tide and is great fun. There is also a very quaint cafe on the beach where you can go for a drink. (optional): The city of Xanthos, the capital of ancient Lycia, is situated on a rocky outcrop beside the Xanthos River. It has produced evidence of occupation from at least the mid-1st millennium BC and flourished into the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The Lycian Acropolis is beside the river at the south-west of the site, while the larger Roman Acropolis lies to the north, with the city spread out below it. The site was investigated by Charles Fellows in 1838 and since 1950 has been excavated by a French expedition, currently led by Jacques des Courtils and focused around the central city area. The history of Xanthos is quite interesting and the account of these fiercely independent people’s history can indeed be a bit shocking: twice the Xanthosians choose to take their own lives rather than submit to invading forces. After the first Persian invasion, Xanthos was later repopulated until 42 BC when Brutus attacked the city during the Roman civil wars in order to recruit troops and raise money. Brutus was shocked by the Lycians’ grave decision and offered his soldiers a reward for each Xanthosian saved. Only 150 citizens were rescued.

Travel to the charming resort of Kas or the ancient Antiphellos. In Kas there are remains of a temple above the harbour and a Roman theatre and sarcophagi in the town.

Depart for Kekova, an area of idyllic beauty, where the local people live amidst sunken ancient remains, and Lycian rock tombs and sarcophagi are clearly visible from the sea. (optional): The ancient Lycian sunken city of Kekova-Simena is a charming mix of ancient, medieval and modern history making it interesting as well as beautiful. In ancient times Simena was a small fishing village and was later an outpost of the Knights of Rhodes (formerly of St. John). The ancient city of Simena was once of two parts - an island and a coastal part of the mainland. On the mainland you will find the charming fishing village of Kalekoy (castle village) with its buildings mingling with ancient and medieval structures. The top of the village is dominated by a well-preserved castle built by the Knights of Rhodes partially upon ancient Lycian foundations. Inside the castle is the smallest amphitheater of Lycia. At the eastern end of the village is a Lycian necropolis with a cluster of some very nice sarcophagi overlooking the sea and surrounded by ancient olive trees. Near the harbor of Kalekoy is another sarcophagus, popping up from the water. Across the bay, along the island are the half-sub- merged ruins of the residential part of Simena, caused by the downward shift of land by the terrible earthquakes of the 2nd century AD. Half of the houses are submerged and staircases descend into the water. Foundations of buildings and the ancient harbor are also seen below the sea. Moor in Kekova Island for night.

From Kale you have the chance to visit the sites of Myra and /or St. Nicholas Church, which requires a vehicle and guide for the 15 minute transport to the site. (optional): Myra was a leading city of the Lycian Union and surpassed Xanthos in early Byzantine times to become the capital city of Lycia. The city is well known for its amphitheatre, the largest in Lycia, and the plethora of rock-cut tombs carved in the cliff above the theatre. St. Paul changed ships at Myra’s port on his way to his trial in Rome, in about 60 AD, after he had been arrested in Jerusalem after being charged with inciting to riot. Because of the terrible plague that swept through Anatolia, Muslim raids, flooding and earthquakes, Myra was mostly abandoned by the 11th century. (optional): The earliest Church of St. Nicholas at Myra was built in the 6th century and a monastery was added in the second half of the 11th century. In 1863 Czar Alexander II of Russia bought the building and started to have it restored, but the work was never finished. In 1963 the eastern and southern sides of the church was excavated, in 1968 the former burial of St. Nicholas was roofed over. The floor of the church is made of a mosaic of colored marble, and there are some remains of fresco murals. A Greek marble sarcophagus had been reused to bury the Saint. Spend the afternoon swimming in the lovely Kekova Bay and then cruise north to Yesiköy for night.

Early morning to departure to Olu Deniz or the ‘Dead Sea’ Turkey’s most photographed lagoon. If you like visit the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy from a bay near Gemiler Island. Spend the rest of the afternoon swimming. About 45 minutes before sundown visit the Gemiler Island. The sunsets here are incredible. Olu Deniz with its stunning blue lagoon is renowned as the most beautiful beach in Turkey and therefore the water is the main attraction, particularly for para gliders who come from all over the world to glide over the turquoise waters from atop the Babadag Mountain. Photographs of the lagoon of this astonishing crystal-clear lagoon and a beautifully photogenic grey-white beach adorn almost every Turkish travel brochure. Olu Deniz is now in a conservation area and new development is strictly controlled. A small entry fee is charged to the lagoon beach itself, which is well suited for children and has shaded areas, cafes and showers. On the other side of the sandbar, Belcekiz beach is a crescent-shaped stretch of pebbles and sand set in a backdrop of beautiful pine-clad mountains. Olu Deniz literally means ‘Sea of the Dead’, and its name is attributed to the following legend: Once upon a time a father and son were out on a fishing trip and got caught in a vicious storm. They were in mortal danger of sinking. The son claimed that if they approached the rocks ashore they could take shelter in a cove that he knew of. The father on the other hand asserted that their boat would be driven onto the rocks and get smashed by the breaking waves and they would both die. The father was convinced that there were no coves around nearby. In his terror of running around on the rocks, the father knocked his son (who was at the helm) into the sea with an oar and took over the helm himself. Just as the ship was about to hit the rocks on the cape, she turned into this calm, smooth watered bay. The son drowned in the stormy waters and thus the cove was named Sea of the Dead - or Olu Deniz. (optional): There is a chance for a rigorous 1 hour hike or for those who prefer, take a mini bus from the Gemiler dock and drive 10 minutes to the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy. Wear good walking shoes - even if you take the minibus - because hiking in the deserted village is on marble streets. The fascinating Greek Ghost Village of Kayakoy, which was evacuated during the Turkish-Greek population exchange of 1922. The history of Kayakoy, which is 6 km from the Gemiler dock, dates back to 3000 BCE philologically. However, there are only remains of a few sarcophagi and rock tombs from the 4th century BCE The buildings on the slopes belonged to Greeks who had settled here by provisions extended to minorities by the Ottoman Empire during the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. During the early years of the Turkish Republic, the Greeks resident in this region were exchanged with Turks living in Western Thrace. In time, the wooden panels in doors, windows and on the roofs fell victim to natural destruction when the city acquired a ghost-like appearance. In the deserted city, the houses, each 50 sq. meters maximum, were built in a plan to allow for panoramic view and light fusion. The first floor was usually used for storage purposes and there were underground water cisterns to collect the rain from the rooftops. The houses were 350 to 400 in number, and scattered among them there were many chapels, a school building and a customs office. (optional): There is a beautiful restaurant in Kayakoy called Sarnic Restaurant where you can have lunch (cost of lunch is payable directly). They have taken one of the deserted homes and fully restored it and turned it into an ethnological museum, and it had a beautiful shaded courtyard where they serve their specialties. (optional): Gemiler Island is covered with Lycian ruins, including a covered walkway built for a princess who (according to various legends) was thought by her father to be too beautiful to be seen by the populace, albino and so had to be protected from the sun- light, or just very spoilt. There is also an ancient palace still containing some of its mosaics, several Byzantine churches and the remains of a harbor later used (according to legend) by pirates.

Enjoy the lovely bays of the 12 Islands around Gocek for sailing, swimming & snorkeling. Dock in the picturesque port of Gocek, a small sea-side farming village which has turned into the top yachting center of Turkey. It lies on a valley surrounded by hills on three sides. Due to abundant freshwater, the warm climate and very fertile soil, farming is still practiced. Just two blocks from the promenade by the sea, houses still have their little gardens where residents grow all kind vegetables from tomatoes to eggplants, and the sidewalks are covered by orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lemon trees. The green panorama of the city is further accented by the ever-present pine trees along the hills.

Travel to the charming resort of Kas or the ancient Antiphellos. In Kas there are remains of a temple above the har- bour and a Roman theater and sarcophagi in the town. (optional): Depart Kas for the tiny island of Kastellorizo, the smallest inhabited Greek Island in the Dodecanese group, less than 5 km off the south coast of Turkey. The scenic natural landscape consists of jagged coastline with sheer cliffs, narrow fjords, private coves and high mountains. Today two elaborate churches, a number of handcraft shops, seafood restaurants and taverna’s line the fairy tale-like harbor, painted in numerous shades of pastel colors. It is different than the other Dodecanese islands, seen in the carefully restored neo-Classical homes and in the gracious hospitality of the island’s inhabitants. This Greek Island also possesses a Blue Grotto, larger than that of the Italian Island of Capri.

Both have lively resorts, traditional sleepy villages, authentic local cuisine, sightseeing, shopping, nightlife, and ancient site explorations. Some trips require vehicles, while others are walks or optional hikes. Guides can also be booked or the captain will ably help you explore on your own. Cabins Accommodation consists of 4 cabins with queen-sized beds, 2 cabins with 2 twin beds, and 1 master cabin with a king-sized bed. Each cabin has generous storage space and a roomy en suite bathroom with toilet, shower, marble sink and vanity

Salon Lounge with fully stocked bar and ice maker, indoor dining facilities, fully equipped galley, air conditioning, generous closet and storage space, reading lights above the beds, bathroom with enclosed shower, hot and cold water, flush toilet, marble sink with vanity, towels (face, hand, bath and beach), bathrobes, hair dryer. On deck there are easy access swim ladders & outdoor shower.

Activities Snorkel and water-ski equipment for all ages, 2 kayak, flotation devices, and fishing equipment. Television with DVD player, CD player with iPod connection, speakers below and on deck, backgammon, chess, playing cards and yoga mats.

Wifi Cell phone coverage and free WiFi connection for up to 15 GB is available on board. Over and above that, the rental price for an external modem, which we can arrange, costs approximately 50 Euro per week.

Schooner yacht FORTUNA is a well-known Croatian wooden sailing yacht measuring 33m. It was made in Marmaris in 1994 and refitted in 2014. The name Fortuna means- fortune- but it is also the Croatian (Dalmatian) word for strong wind. Fortuna is available for yacht charters in the Adriatic Sea including Croatia, Montenegro and the East Italian coast. She can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in 7 cabins and has a professional crew of 4.

Yacht Fortuna is made from laminated mahogany, and perfect for sailing, and is equipped with two masts and gib, with outside and inside wheels.

The salon of the sailing yacht Fortuna features a bar, a sitting area and a dining area with two tables as well as an LCD TV and DVD player. Besides the interior salon, there is also an outside stern salon with a large dining table. The stern salon can be open or completely closed with a protective awning. A professional and experienced chef will prepare you excellent food from Croatian or international cuisine.

On the bow, close to the main mast is also a sitting area with 2 tables for relaxing, enjoying an early morning coffee or a sunset cocktail. On the yacht forward is also a sunbathing area with large sunpads. Both the sitting area on the bow and sundeck can be shaded with a bimini.

Croatia Gulet Fortuna is an elegant mahogany gulet, built in Turkey in 1994 and now used for private charters on the Adriatic. She has six cabins (sleeping 12), making her ideal for small groups of family or friends. We met the lovely Torić family, who own and crew Fortuna, to find out more.

The Boat: Gulet Fortuna

On a hot sunny afternoon, at anchor in Kaštela Bay, just outside Split, Fortuna (33m/108ft) cuts an elegant figure, with her two towering masts silhouetted against the rocky heights of Kozjak mountain . Onboard, I was greeted by Mirna and Tonči and their children, Stipe and Kate. We sit around the spacious dining table on the shaded aft deck. Kate makes us good, strong espresso coffees and passes around a platter of chocolate treats. Although the sea is a little choppy, Fortuna has a deep hull, making her very stable.

Croatia Gulet Fortuna | The Family

The Torić family lives on the tiny pine-scented island of Vrgada (population 249) on the edge of Kornati National Park, midway between Zadar and Šibenik. Mirna and Tonči have worked with boats for over 20 years, and Stipe and Kate have sailed since they were tiny. How did the family get into the charter business? “One day, we were in Sukošan marina and by chance saw a gulet with a ‘For Sale sign,” says Mirna with a smile. “We bought it, and we had it ready for sailing in one month.”

As a family, they create a relaxed but competent team. Tonči is captain, and Stipe (a Naval Engineering graduate who has worked on international tankers) is deckhand. This summer, Mirna will be the chef, and Kate (studying to be a nurse) will be a stewardess.

Fortuna | The Guest Experience

When they book, guests send us a preference list, about the sorts of places they like, food intolerances and so on, so we can plan,” explains Mirna. “We offer half-board. A full breakfast spread – platters of fresh fruit, yogurts, eggs, croissants, and more. And a three-course Dalmatian lunch, usually at anchor in a bay. At dinner, guests eat out”. Mirna Toric

The Torić will give you a true insider’s view of Dalmatia. “Besides being crew, we’re tour guides; we want you to see how we live on the islands,” says Stipe. “By boat, you can find hidden beaches and enjoy the privilege of swimming without crowds. Here you’re literally in a giant natural translucent blue pool with no chemicals. You can see the seabed 100 feet below you”.

Croatia Gulet Fortuna | Inside and Out

Mirna shows me inside. The saloon has a bar and indoor dining space in case it rains. Down below, the six cozy cabins are a mix of doubles and twins. They have comfy beds, mahogany wardrobes, blue-and-white bed linens, and small windows opening onto azure Dalmatian skies. En-suite bathrooms come with a shower and hairdryer. Up top, the teak deck has generous sunbathing space with mattresses and seating on the prow, ideal for sunset drinks. With her sails up, billowing in the wind, Fortuna can cruise at 6 knots (7mph).

Dalmatia Sailing Routes

After my visit, Fortuna will be sailing from Split to Dubrovnik , with stops on Hvar, Vis, and Korčula along the way. They will tailor the itinerary and activities to suit the group aboard. Besides cultural sightseeing, they’ll occasionally drop anchor in secluded bays, nap, swim, and enjoy Fortuna’s water toys. These include stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), a tandem kayak, an inflatable doughnut tube, a banana float, and snorkeling gear. “We want guests to appreciate freedom, to forget about the time of day, to relax, discover, and enjoy,” concludes Stipe.

TONČI TORIĆ Captain Tonči Torić has been a keen sailor for more than 30 years. Experience that he gathered during these years gives him confidence to bring the yacht to any small bay at night, or to sail even in rough weather. Guests love to join him and the crew and give hand during the sailing, and many of them have learned sailing essentials during their vacation on Fortuna. Together with his family Tonči has been sailing on Fortuna for about decade now, and together they have built a very good reputation for their work and commitment. MIRNA TORIĆ Mirna Torić was working as a host and stewardess on Fortuna for many years, but in the last few seasons she started cooking for their guests and the feedback was superb. Clients loved Mirna in her new role and enjoyed her culinary skills. While preparing your meals she will take care of all the little details making sure all your requirements and wishes are fulfilled and easily coordinate food and service to the table. Do not worry, your children and teenagers will have a special treatment, as Mirna has an individual approach to each guest and his eventual special needs. STJEPAN TORIĆ Born in 1996 in Zadar. Stjepan graduated the Naval High School 2015, and went on to study at the Maritime University in Zadar. Currently holds the title as the youngest crew member, he exemplifies excellent naval skills. He is very enthusiastic and willing to learn, all in order to one day take over helm himself. Stjepan will be at your service with a smile all the time, taking care of all the “fun stuff on board”, from waterski and water sports. He will also drive you around with tender for all your outings, shopping, stroll around small villages or a night life, while the yacht stays in quiet bay away from crowded beaches and resorts. ANĐELA ŠEGIĆ Born in 1999 in Zadar, Anđela finished high school in her home town and just after high school she started working as waitress in cafes and restaurants so she has a plenty experience in working with people. She loves the sea and sailing is in her blood, so opportunity to work on a gullet is her dream come true. She also enjoys fishing, so she can give you some fishing instructions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and meeting new people. Being very cheerful person, she is right for her job and you will feel like nothing is to hard for her as she will do everything with a smile on her face. She will take care of all the little details during your charter from housekeeping to special event organizations so you can have relaxed holiday
