Best kept secret in town. Only spot for us to go. Food is excellent! Drinks abs service too notch. Highly recommend to anyone that likes Yacht Rock Radio at a legit yacht club!
I came here with a friend who frequents this place. First and the only bad part for me is the smoke inside. If you want to have difficulty breathing due to smoke come here. Lol However the bartenders were so very cool and friendly. The place has character which is why it has been around so long. Plus the drinks here are cheap!
The club itself isn't worth the $10 you pay for two drinks there. Bar is old and overpriced (like the bartenders on most days). Sundays: YES. Cute, younger (30s-ish) chick. Think her name is Dawn. Only bartender there worth her weight. OTHERWISE, DON'T GO.
What more can I say? Cheap drinks and amazing customer service. It was my first time here and I feel at home. One of the few true dive bars in HEB. Please come enjoy the 'regulars' and the staff. It is worth your while. Ask for Vickie!
How has the Euless Yacht Club eluded the attention of YELP reviewers? Well I think I can explain. First of all, I feel honored to be posting the first review on this venerable Euless institution. This place has been around SEEMINGLY since the 1970's and it would also seem the decor has not been updated since its inception. This is a hole in the wall bar, end of story. Hypothetically speaking, if you are looking to dump your social climbing, vacuous, superficial North Dallas honey, start scheduling dates at the Euless Yacht Club. If she is geographically impaired, she initially might think she is in store for a high-tone time at a luxurious "Yacht Club", but instead she will be in store for some sweet irony! Wait a minute... Yacht Club? Is there a "Lake Euless" recently excavated by the Army Corps of Engineers nearby? No. Do people winterize and store Yachts here? No. Is there a membership requirement to enter the premises of said Euless Yacht Club and are weekly meetings held to discuss issues important to Yacht owners? No and no. Does Euless Yacht Club seem to be a misnomer? In the words of a young Jason Kidd, "Most definitely.". The draw is that I can ride my bicycle to the Yacht Club, which I used to do with certain neighbors whose identities will be protected. Chances are if you have at least one drink, you will hear either a) Vodoo-Chile by Stevie Ray Vaugn or b) I Love This Bar by Toby Keith emanating from the juke box. On weekends they usually have live bands that usually play classic rock. Some of the bands are decent but many, not so much. I hope one day to make my musical debut here. The wine is served way too warm which is probably a mistake most other Yacht Clubs pay closer mind to. The beer is cold though. You can even ask for something called a "Hood Blaster" which some of the bartenders know is a shot of Tuaca with Red Bull. It's like a Jaeger Bomb but substitute Jaeger with Tuaca, or just ask for a Tuaca Bomb and know that you are drinking the summertime drink that is sweeping the nation, i.e. "Hood Blaster". Oh yeah, I would be remiss to not mention the copious amounts of cigarette smoke that wafts about in cirrostratus or cumulonimbus formations. I sometimes pretend to have cataracts as my vision becomes foggy and then I pretend I am faith-healed as I am exiting the front door and the milky halos go away. I enjoy reading technical manuals and MOST people don't... that being said this is that kind of place... I enjoy it, but you probably won't.
Where to begin? I guess with the establishment's name would be a good place to start. The Euless Yacht Club? OK, it's in Euless I'll give it that. Yacht Club? That makes me think of a few things. First is boats. Let me assure there there are none here. Second is that the establishment is of a higher class type place. That is also is not. The exterior of this place looks shady, and the interior looks like it hasn't been updated since the 70's. The beer is served cold and is priced decently which is probably the only good thing I have to say about this place. The bands that play there are usually of the cover band / classic rock genre which is fine if that is your flavor, except the bands themselves aren't that great. Their ventilation system is not great either as the place is filled with so much cigarette smoke my eyes burned after being there for a few hours. All of this could be OK if one is looking for a place to go socialize with a few friends and have a few drinks/laughs. My biggest problem with this place is the giant cockroaches. If you like cockroaches climbing the walls where you wet your whistle then this is the place for you, if you aren't into that sort of thing stay away!
I came here with a friend kind of embarrassing but was in a hurry for a good beer on tap surprised they don't have beer on tap. the bottled or can beer it comes out of the regular refrigerator that I would have in my garage on the side of the bar. I could barely breathe in there the smoke was so thick the atmosphere was what can I say above my age average 60 and above the band was not too but the poor bartender she look like she needed to retire are ready I wouldn't let my grandmother be behind a bar working. I was definitely not about to try any of the food. all I can say is I went I Concord and I've survived. moving on to better places.
Are you looking for a place without the following: A) Fresh air B) A paved parking lot C) A good location D) A juke box with music produced after 1982 E) A sense of shame Bingo, the EYC is your joint.
It's a bar. That's the only thing I can say positive about it. I should have known better than to go here, simply based upon the street view. However, we pulled in the parking lot - which is not paved & is filled with deep potholes & mud. Once inside, get used to the smoke, it won't get any better until you leave. The music: not good. The beer selection: blah. With all of the other bars within a short drive from here, pick another one. ANY should be better.
Great dive bar here in euless ! We loved it ! Small and friendly . Jukebox music great , can't wait to hear some bands here soon ! Vicki was the best bartender and so was Dale . Smoke could be overwhelming if it is crowded . They had the doors open when we were there .

Onboard to Euless Yacht Club
One hallmark of semi-employment is the way your weekends change shape. Leisure time stretches from day to day like wax in a lava lamp, occasionally separated into individual blobs by interstitial fluid backlit by work and colored with the blues of errands and bills. In other words, I’ve taken to starting the weekend on Wednesdays .
Well, most weeks, anyway. I spent last Wednesday totally hungover, so I didn’t get out until Thursday night , when I cruised the suburban wastes of H-E-B in search of the Euless Yacht Club . Of course, we all know there aren’t any lakes in Euless, and, according to some reviews I’d read on Yelp , giving a bar a name that contradicts its geographic surroundings is an unpardonable, 1½-starrable offense . In addition to a nonsensical name, the Euless Yacht Club is also guilty of the heinous crimes of being old and out of touch –– at least according to Mid-Cities nightlife expert Doug H . “This place has been around SEEMINGLY since the 1970’s [sic], and it would also seem the décor has not been updated since its inception. This is a hole in the wall bar, end of story.”
I argue that the Yacht Club’s name is actually pretty great. And the place itself isn’t bad, either. Euless Yacht Club is a friendly neighborhood dive populated by middle-aged regulars who like drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and rocking Bob Seger on the juke . The wood on the walls is totally unfinished . There’s shuffleboard in the front room, and there are pool tables in the back . The bartender remembered my drink for the second round and asked me to come back soon. The place ain’t fancy, and it’s certainly not yacht club fancy, but I think that’s the point. If affordable drinks served in a timely fashion by nice people in a not-too-serious environment aren’t enough for the Doug H.s of the world, well, then, they can sail somewhere else. –– Steve Steward
The Road Less Traveled
I meant to go to Dallas on Friday night , but my plans fell through, and by that I mean I drank two more beers than I should’ve in order to safely cross the county line. After marinating at The Moon for a bit, I headed to Camp Bowie Boulevard to check out Iguana’s . Last year I wrote about the place when it was called All Star Sports Bar . Iguana’s is kind of the same thing now, though the atmosphere is a lot darker — the walls are charcoal-colored (except for the large mural in the middle bar of a garish neon iguana accented by black lights), and the staffers all wear black button-ups . And while all that black lends a bar a little sophistication, what made everything really dark was the bartender who dramatically quit mid-shift , causing the owner to sweep in and command a befuddled bar-back to start making drinks. I didn’t stay to see how the rest of the night went, but I bet the kid figured it out –– hopefully, before it got busy.
After Iguana’s, I continued west, intending to check out the metal club The Rail , but going the wrong way on Alta Mere Drive , made obvious when I noticed I’d just passed Maxine’s , I thought, “Well, wherever the road takes me, I guess.” And right then, I saw it: Showgirl Cabaret .
I flipped a U-turn and parked behind the building. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know where I’m talking about: The strip club’s in a dumpy yellow building heralded by a big sign that’s perpetually dimming . Not in the least bit sketchy, right? The reasonable part of my brain pointed out that these are the types of low-rent naked-lady bars where people get stabbed in the parking lot, but the normal part told the reasonable part to shut the fuck up and make the best of it, and not only because my fingers were already punching buttons on a nearby ATM . I noticed a Cadillac 300 limo stretched halfway across Showgirl’s parking lot, and I started imagining the sort of person who rents a limo and then goes to Showgirl Cabaret. No, this wouldn’t be sketchy at all.
And, really, it wasn’t. Showgirl doesn’t have much flash — you could probably set up something similar in your garage if you had some green light bulbs and a Limp Bizkit album — but whatever. It’s a one-room affair anchored by a big square bar flanked at the corners by two small stages, both of which are graced by silver poles. One side had some leather couches . The other had two pool tables . Both had strippers, some of whom looked like they’d been at it a while. The limo crew had sort of cordoned off an ad hoc VIP area –– they were a bunch of old fat guys in cowboy hats with an endless supply of singles at the ready, and when the boys lured away the stripper who had asked me if I was sticking around, I drank a beer and hit the road, heading someplace where the women shine you on for free. –– S.S.

The Euless Yacht Club

Deliberately excluded from previous posts so I could give it its own, the EYC is somewhat of an institution – it’s a bar in Euless, near Fort Worth, and it’s wonderful – understated, full of friendly people and they serve proper Coors beer. You can only get Coors light in the vast majority of everywhere else, and according to Dad, Coors is much better than the light version. I don’t drink beer so couldn’t tell you! It’s a bit legendary to me, in an always-been-talked-about but I’ve always been too young to go kind of a way.
So here’s a proper Coors bottle. Complete with Daisy Duck (see what I did there? She’ll have her own post at some stage too. Maybe even a category of her own…)
A Texas-sized beer cooler. On a trailer. With Rusty’s name on the side, so Daisy insisted on having a picture (I cannot believe I didn’t take a duck rallying with me. Epic, epic fail).
Dad and Ronnie Mac, an old and wonderful friend on the deck
They have a bar cat called Wilbur. Who is a beautiful cat and who brought us a lizard. We rescued him and put him on a tree – he was perfectly ok, just a bit startled.
And this is the outside of the EYC as we left for the last time. It’s not in the slightest bit posh, but it’s genuine, friendly and a lovely place to while away an afternoon. Kind of like your favourite pub back home!
Have you ever been to the Big Duck on Long Island, NY? Google it. It is duck heaven!
ohmygod I’ve just googled it – that is AMAZING!! how have I gone this long without knowing it exists?! I’ve only been north of the mason-dixon line once, to Florida for my 21st… so there’s lots of the States left for me to explore 🙂

How has the Euless Yacht Club eluded the attention of YELP reviewers? Â Well I think I can explain. First of all, I feel honored to be posting the first review on this venerable Euless institution. Â This place has been around SEEMINGLY since the 1970's and it would also seem the decor has not been updated since its inception. Â This is a hole in the wall bar, end of story. Hypothetically speaking, if you are looking to dump your social climbing, vacuous, superficial North Dallas honey, start scheduling dates at the Euless Yacht Club. Â If she is geographically impaired, she initially might think she is in store for a high-tone time at a luxurious "Yacht Club", but instead she will be in store for some sweet irony! Â Wait a minute... Yacht Club? Â Is there a "Lake Euless" recently excavated by the Army Corps of Engineers nearby? No. Â Do people winterize and store Yachts here? Â No. Â Is there a membership requirement to enter the premises of said Euless Yacht Club and are weekly meetings held to discuss issues important to Yacht owners? Â No and no. Â Does Euless Yacht Club seem to be a misnomer? Â In the words of a young Jason Kidd, "Most definitely.". The draw is that I can ride my bicycle to the Yacht Club, which I used to do with certain neighbors whose identities will be protected. Â Chances are if you have at least one drink, you will hear either a) Â Vodoo-Chile by Stevie Ray Vaugn or b) Â I Love This Bar by Toby Keith emanating from the juke box. Â On weekends they usually have live bands that usually play classic rock. Â Some of the bands are decent but many, not so much. Â I hope one day to make my musical debut here. The wine is served way too warm which is probably a mistake most other Yacht Clubs pay closer mind to. Â The beer is cold though. Â You can even ask for something called a "Hood Blaster" which some of the bartenders know is a shot of Tuaca with Red Bull. Â It's like a Jaeger Bomb but substitute Jaeger with Tuaca, or just ask for a Tuaca Bomb and know that you are drinking the summertime drink that is sweeping the nation, i.e. "Hood Blaster". Â Oh yeah, I would be remiss to not mention the copious amounts of cigarette smoke that wafts about in cirrostratus or cumulonimbus formations. Â I sometimes pretend to have cataracts as my vision becomes foggy and then I pretend I am faith-healed as I am exiting the front door and the milky halos go away. I enjoy reading technical manuals and MOST people don't... that being said this is that kind of place... Â I enjoy it, but you probably won't.

Euless Yacht Club is a friendly neighborhood dive populated by middle-aged regulars who like drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and rocking Bob Seger on the juke. The wood on the walls is totally unfinished. There's shuffleboard in the front room, and there are pool tables in the back. The bartender remembered my drink for the second round ...
Food is excellent! Drinks abs service too notch. Highly recommend to anyone that likes Yacht Rock Radio at a legit yacht club! The club itself isn't worth the $10 you pay for two drinks there. Bar is old and overpriced (like the bartenders on most days). Sundays: YES. Cute, younger (30s-ish) chick.

The Euless Yacht Club by Carla Louise | Feb 26, 2012 | Uncategorized | 2 comments Deliberately excluded from previous posts so I could give it its own, the EYC is somewhat of an institution - it's a bar in Euless, near Fort Worth, and it's wonderful - understated, full of friendly people and they serve proper Coors beer.
