Balance 442 “Lasai” Set to Debut

Balance Catamarans is preparing for the premiere of its newest Balance 442 catamaran. The debut is scheduled to take place at the International Multihull Boat Show in La Grande Motte, France, from April 3-7.

The owners of the latest 442 model, which has been christened Lasai , are the couple known as the “Tipsy Nomads” online. They’ve been using the boat for the past few months in the Mediterranean, including cruising it to the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Their YouTube and Instagram channels include photos and videos from these first days on board Lasai .

On the Balance 442, Cruising World editor-at-large Herb McCormick described his experience aboard the model as “a 44-foot catamaran that punches above its weight, and a performance-oriented platform that’s also ideal for ocean sailing and living aboard.”

“Under sail … I truly began to appreciate the 442’s proportions, and came to realize what an ideal-size boat this is for a cruising couple,” said McCormick. “It’s large enough to address most any cruisers’ plans and itinerary, but not so big that you need to bring additional crew on board to go cruising.”

Balade en Catamaran à la Grande Motte

Alexis a été bercé par la houle dès ses premiers mois et a appris à marcher sur un bateau avant l’âge de 2 ans la mer est un univers qui le passionne depuis toujours et il transmet aujourd’hui les joies et les valeurs de la voile grâce à son entreprise de balades en mer : catamaran lucile 2..

Son père a créé la société en 1986 et Alexis a naturellement repris l’entreprise en 2011 suite à l’obtention de son diplôme de capitaine de la marine marchande. Ses parents avaient démarré l’activité à bord d’un Outremer catamaran de 14 places, et organisaient des sorties à la journée sur ce bateau jusqu’en 2012. 

À son arrivée dans l’entreprise, Alexis a souhaité développer l’activité. Ne pouvant pas continuer sur ce bateau qui avait déjà 30 ans, il a obtenu les fonds nécessaires pour investir dans un bateau plus grand, puis encore plus grand deux ans plus tard, pour le plus grand bonheur de ses clients.

Quelles sont pour vous les recettes d’une fête réussi sur un catamaran ?

Les éléments indispensables sont pour moi un bateau adapté avec de grands filets et des espaces suffisamment grands pour accueillir tout le monde, un DJ survitaminé, des alcools de qualité et un repas digne d’un grand chef. Sans oublier une météo parfaite comme il n’en existe que dans le Sud avec mer plate et grand soleil pour que la baignade et la sortie entre amis soient vraiment inoubliables ! C’est la recette explosive qui nous a permis d’être élus Meilleure Boat Party sur un catamaran ces 3 dernières années.

Quels sont vos outils pour organiser des célébrations sur catamaran ? Quelle est l’efficacité de ces outils ?

Pour des célébrations particulières comme un mariage ou un anniversaire, nous avons un large répertoire de partenaires (wedding planner, agences évènementielles, fleuristes, DJ, traiteurs…) qui se plient en quatre pour organiser un évènement totalement sur mesure, à la hauteur des rêves de nos clients. Une fois sur le bateau, c’est le sourire et la compétence de notre personnel de bord qui prennent le relais et font toute la différence pour un vrai moment magique.

Quels sont les avantages d’organiser une croisière en catamaran pour un enterrement de vie de jeune fille ?

Un catamaran, c’est déjà un lieu d’exception ! Avec nos formules tout compris, vous avez l’assurance de passer un moment de folie à bord : baignade, open bar, délicieux repas et DJ au beau milieu de la mer Méditerranée. Rien à voir avec un simple sortie en discothèque ou sur une plage privée.

Quelles sont les particularités d’une journée de team building en bateau ? Quelles sont les activités et animations possibles ?

En team building, on travaille beaucoup sur la cohésion : on apprend ensemble à naviguer, participer aux manoeuvres, régler les voiles, choisir un cap, virer de bord… Puis on finit par un verre ou un repas à bord. C’est un moyen idéal de renforcer l’esprit d’équipe dans un cadre qui change du travail quotidien tout en en passant un vrai moment de plaisir.

June 1984, La Grande Motte: Gérard Danson, a young architect from the Conati shipyard, associated with the best technician of the shipyard, Daniel Cailloux, launches into the construction of a 40-foot sailing catamaran, powerful and seaworthy, intended for offshore cruising. The design of this first multihull marks the beginning of Outremer, French catamaran manufacturer.

Balance hits La Grande Motte Multihull Show

Balance Catamarans is pleased to announce it will be debuting the first Balance 442 catamaran at the International Multihull Boat Show in La Grande Motte, France, from April 3- 7th. 

She is a stunning catamaran with ecologically sourced bamboo veneers on her hand-made catamarans.

La Grand Motte Show 2023 Coming Up!

We are fast approaching the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte (2023 edition). We’ll be there again as official media partners, so please look out for us and come and say hello if you are visiting!

The International Multihull Show is an annual event held in the south of France, dedicated to the world of multihull sailing. It is one of the biggest catamaran and trimaran shows in the world, attracting visitors and exhibitors from all over the globe. The show is held in the town of La Grande Motte, which is located on the Mediterranean coast between Montpellier and Nimes, the home of Outremer and Gunboat.

The history of La Grande Motte Multihull Show dates back to 2010, when it was first organized in partnership with Lorient on the Atlantic which hosted the show in even years

Over the years, the La Grande Motte Multihull Show has grown in size and popularity, becoming a major event in the world of sailing. The show features the latest multihull models and technologies. It is a platform for sailors, enthusiasts, and industry professionals to network, share ideas, and discuss the latest trends in the industry.

The Boats to See

This year, the main attraction will be the unveiling of the new Outremer 52 , the Bali Catsmart and the upgraded Nautitech 40. The Excess 14 will be there, along with a healthy selection of Lagoons (42, 46, 51, Sixty 5), Fountaine Pajot, Marsaudon and Bali, plus the Catana OC50. You’ll be able to take a look at the Rapido 40 as well.

Unique Setting

The Show is known for its unique atmosphere and setting. It is held in the heart of La Grande Motte, known for its buildings designed by French architect Jean Balladur who was inspired by lost civilizations of the past. His designs draw on the design of grand Mayan ruins with an added touch from the sixties. Balladur spent almost thirty years developing his vision, which now attracts over 2 million tourists every year.

The marina itself is a work of art, with its geometric shapes and colourful facades. The town’s location on the Mediterranean coast also adds to the show’s appeal, with visitors able to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand while attending the event.

In addition to the exhibitions, the La Grande Motte Multihull Show also features live demonstrations, test sails, product launches workshops, conferences, and races. The show is also a great opportunity for visitors to get on the boats on display, and even head out for a sail.

The La Grande Motte Multihull Show is a unique event that celebrates the world of multihull sailing. It has a rich history and has grown in size and popularity over the years, becoming one of the biggest multihull shows in the world. Under the creative impulse of Marion and Cyrille Mothe, and in keeping with the spirit of the place, the Catamaran is given a new lease of life, and becomes Catamaran Café.

Since 1986, this place of life and meeting punctuates the holidays of summer visitors fascinated by the Grande Motte, and its solar tropism, the big blue, and its poetry in colors, the garden city with a thousand curves, hollows, and reliefs.

Arcades hide behind the fragile constructions. Dear to Jean Balladur, and so unique, they have been forgotten.

Our project, in the existing space, wishes to put the flames back well ahead, under the Mediterranean, the sea of eternal summer.

Emphasis is placed on transparency, to free up spaces, and natural light, to punctuate the day.

To brighten up the plates, from breakfast to dinner, the offer revolves around Mediterranean cuisine, healthy, balanced, fine and tasty, made up of fresh and seasonal products, with a preference for fish and products from the seafood, poultry or white meats, mainly accompanied by sunny vegetables, herbs and spices, olive oil, fruit from the vine and the orchard.
